2022 was a year of change and growth in so many ways. I learned a lot about myself, let go of past issues and feel like I came into my own. I felt like I woke up from a dream and started realizing how I want to live my life.

2022 was the year I turned 30 and while in January, I felt very hesitant and scared for how I would react to this major change, when it was all said and done I was pretty ok with this milestone. I didn't freak out, I didn't go running for the hills and rather I was completely at peace with turning 30.

Today is International Women's Day and this month is Women's History Month. I thought that I would replace what I originally had on the calendar today with something honoring today.

I have a lot of thoughts on the things that are happening in the world right now, conerning women -- some of my thoughts are the majority, and some aren't so popular. I want to be equal to men, but I don't think I'm better than a man -- that is a broad description of my feelings.

However, I did want to acknowledge today because it does make me feel empowered, and women empower me as a whole. I think we're amazing, and we do so much -- we have so much ambition and drive, and it's truly inspiring.

I wanted to highlight some of my favorite women who inspire me, some of the things created by women that inspire me, and anything having to do with women really.

I think that women have been being celebrated lately, there is a movement going on and something in the air but it is important to have this day!

Shonda Rhimes: She is truly one of the best women in the entertainment industry. She is so smart, so  ambitious, and so inspiring. She gave us Olivia Pope, Meredith Grey, and everyone inbetween. How do you not LOVE and celebrate Shonda Rhimes every chance you get?

Bethenny Frankel: Bethenny is a BOSS BITCH and she lets everyone around her know it! She is truly what I aspire to be. She goes after what she wants and is unapologetic. We also saw her go from someone who was struggling to one rich ass woman. She's incredible.

Erika Nardini: You may not know her but I sure do. She's the FEMALE CEO of Barstool Sports, my favorite website ever. Barstool is not everyone's cup of tea but I love it more than life. It's like this other part of my life and Erika is the kickass leader of the pirate ship!

Hilary Clinton: This may be an unpopular opinion but I don't think it's one I need to explain.

Michelle Obama: A POPULAR opinion but also not one I need to explain.

All the Kardashians: I don't care what anyone says. These ladies are the most hardworking women ever, they chase their dreams and have a drive inside of them I can only wish for.

*All bloggers/women business owners inspire me to the fullest! I love watching these women go after what they want and just owning

My favorite women owned/started companies:

Brit + Co
Shop Evil Queen

Tory Burch
Kate Spade
Rebecca Minkoff

My favorite women authors:

I can't have a list without my girl, the number one inspiration for my life, Carrie Bradshaw!

Happy International Women's Day to the all the badass women out there!

I get inspired by a lot of things on a daily basis. They could be quotes, articles, photos, or even my favorite shopping websites. That's one of the reasons I love social media so much; because it gives me so many opportunities to be inspired by things I would've never discovered in the first place.

One of my favorite things I've discovered on social media is definitely fashion illustrators. I don't know what it is but don't you just love seeing these illustrations of fabulous & chic women walking down 5th Ave? I have an illustration from Etsy on my desk that is just a girl reading and she has a pile of books next to her, and it brings me so much joy.

I've seen a handful of these talented ladies on Instagram & maybe I'll do a post on a few others in the future, but for now, I'm here to talk about an OG.

Meghan Hess is an illustrator that I've been onto for a while. She does some great work for Henri Bendel (I purchased her 2 new phone cases & the coasters and they're gorgeous!), she's published a few books of her own, does her own artwork but when I started researching her, the first thing that popped up was that Candance Bushnell picked her to illustrate the cover of Sex and the City. That's when I started to remember seeing Candance Bushnell's books in the library when I was younger and loving the covers.

Well, that was all Meghan Hess.

She is just so insanely talented and when I look at her artwork, I can't believe it's real artwork. It almost seems fake to me, because it's just so perfect.

I've always had this fascination with drawings & artists. My best friend is one of the most talented artists I've ever met and I've known her since we were five years old, therefore I've been around talent for my entire life. I was so jealous, in the best way possible, that she had this awesome talent to create something visual and I wanted to be able to draw so badly that I made her give me drawing lessons when we were younger.

Maybe that's why I love Megan Hess so much; because her talent is so awestriking to me. It also awakens some sort of inspiration in me.

I purchased her newest book "New York" and "read" it within an hour. I put read in quotes because it's not a book you can read; it's filled with her illustrations and she outlines her favorite places to visit in New York from Central Park to Tiffany's. It's the best book for anyone, not just for people who live in New York.

It's a gorgeous keepsake and I have it displayed on my nightstand. When I was looking through it for the first time, I found myself smiling because I was just loving her drawings. It made me want to do something; whether that was writing, site seeing, shopping... just do something that made me feel.

Is that too corny for artwork?

Illustrations are my favorite thing in the world. I want to cover my walls in them, have them on every tablet/computer background I have, and be surrounded by them. Megan Hess is one of the best I've seen. To be able to create an entire book around illustrations like this is something great.

She has a number of other books & a set of notebooks... and you KNOW I need them!

What inspires you on a daily basis?

Shall we start something new on Royally Pink today? There are so many things I love that don't fall into any particular category. I love websites and articles and movies and shows and weird household items... and I feel like I need to expand on that.

I'm not only concerned with fashion & beauty, so let the new series begin. I'll be talking about items that don't really fall into a specific category, or maybe they do. You never know what I'm going to be obsessed with next!

Since I was junior in college, and started this blog, I became obsessed with online magazines/websites filled with advice for the young millennial. It was an added bonus if it was a career based website.

I couldn't get enough of articles like "How to Write the Perfect Coverletter" or "What Questions to Ask On an Interview", which is why a lot of my freelance articles revolve around career advice.

I also loooooooooove articles like "How to Get the Perfect Night's Sleep" or "How To De-stress" -- combine that with a career foundation and you've got my perfect website.

That is what The Everygirl is.

The website was created by Danielle Moss & Alaina Kaczmarski around 2012. They describe it as the ultimate resource to help women live a better life, be more creative and follow their career dreams. It's inspirational but also aspirational and should help you live the live you deserve & the life you want.

Below is the manifesto that is on The Everygirl About page & it's something that really resonates with me:

Whether she is searching for her dream job or a new city to call home;
is saving up for a down payment or a trip to Europe;
is learning to cook or speak another language,
she wants a little guidance. She wants to be inspired.
She is The Everygirl.
This is for her.
How inspirational is that? It describes the website perfectly. The Everygirl is the all in one source for women who want to just live their best life, and want to be creative, and moved by what they're reading. Techinally, we are all The Everygirls, and I think the name of the site gets it right. It's for every girl...

I've always adored The Everygirl and read it religiously but like with any good obsession, there are ebs and flows. Within the past two months, I have become ADDICTED to the website. I want to absorb every single word they publish and have it embedded into my brain.

The writers they have are extremely talented, and I've gone on to follow them all on social media. I love talented writers who make me feel something or make me want to go out and do something, make me change something in my life.

It doesn't cover one specific vertical -- like all great sites, it covers a lot of different angles and I think that's what I love most.

When I read The Everygirl I feel inspired and I feel like myself. I feel like the writers are talking directly to me, and honestly I just feel like a better person, more refreshed and ambitious while reading it.

The Everygirl is who I want to be.

Here are a few of my recent favorites:

They're just wonderful articles that made me feel good, made me want to do something, and just made me feel something.

They also have a great shop where I got this mug over the Christmas break, because that's how obsessed I am with the site.

The Everygirl website also has a killer job board if you're looking for something!

If you have not read The Everygirl, please do so! I know that all of you will truly enjoy it and find something that resonates with you.

Have you read The Everygirl? What are some of your other favorite websites?

I have a heavy heart. I feel kind of numb, and very, very sad.

I'm not going to get political on you, but if you saw my blog yesterday (the inspirational quote, not the book review).

The book review was published because when I went to sleep on Tuesday November 8th (after forcing myself to do so), I didn't think I'd wake up in a world where a hateful man was president of my country.

I cried a lot on Wednesday, and just felt truly defeated. I'm by no means a hardcore feminist or political guru, but I felt scared and sad.

I know a lot of you felt like that too, and I know we're going to get through it.

For now though, I don't have the mental strength or desire to write a beauty or fashion blog post. Maybe tomorrow, but not on Wednesday November 9th, 2016 or Thursday November 10th.

Just too soon, not today.

A little last minute blog post because I've been so exhausted and uninspired this week... also I forgot to schedule a post in my calendar so everything got messed up. I also don't like going two days in a row without scheduling something.

A lot has been happening and it's all pretty exciting, so my mood has been upbeat this week. Good professional vibes are coming to me!

With that, I leave you all with this quote, just in case anyone else needed some extra support....

I had quite the day, and my week isn't fantastic. There is a lot floating around in my head and I just feel the need for some guidance, and some inspiration.

I feel like something is missing, something I just can't put my finger on.

Hopefully this feeling will pass but in the meanwhile, here's a little inspiration incase you need some as I do!

What's your "go to" quote when you need some inspiration?

Whenever I'm asked what my favorite social media platform is, it's always a toss up between Instagram and Twitter. I love them both for different reasons...Twitter is an extension of the world and Instagram allows me to visually see it.

I love Instagram for keeping me inspired. I follow so many bloggers, social media personalities, and wonderful women who post beautiful pictures.

My favorite type of Instagram picture?

Office decor, desk shots, and 'whats in my bag'. I'm a really nosy person and I love seeing what people are doing at their desk. A lot of them are staged but some are a pretty mess...seeing what inspires people on a daily basis when they're working is my favorite part.

Like I said, I follow a lot of people on Instagram and I'm always scrolling through my "popular" page to see what else is around. I've discovered so many people through that little section.

I thought it would be nice to share some of my favorite accounts with you and inspire you a little bit!

//Novels and Nailpolishes: The way these photos are edited...it's so light and airy. I immediately want to go read a book whenever I see Taylor pop up on my feed. Her blog is even prettier!

//MissChrisyCharms: I think this may be my favorite. Coffee, jewelry, and fashion posts—what more can you want? I always want to put on my favorite necklace when I see Chrissy post. I'm actually kind of obsessed.

//Rainboots and Retail: That name is just perfect, let me start off with that. I can't even really explain why I like this account but it always catches my eye. It's the perfect mix of elegance and fashion blogging. Caroline also has a blog under the same name and it's adorable.

//The Trendy Sparrow: The Trendy Sparrow is an Etsy shop and I'm OBSESSED. Someone give me the Blair Waldorf mug, I am BEGGING you. (Sidenote: I need to do an Etsy shop post) Lindzi's Instagram is constantly giving me sources of inspiration and making me want to get up and do something. Macaroons, coffee table books, and desk inspiration...ugh, words can't even describe!

I definitely have a lot more favorites but these were some new ladies that I started following and have just been obsessed with.

Whenever I scroll through my Instagram feed and I see one of their photos or anything similar, I feel so inspired to do something creative or just get up and kick butt.

I also have a confession...on more than one occasion (well pretty much everyday) I screenshot gorgeous Instagram photos and use them as my phone wallpaper. Does anyone else do that? Because my friends make fun of me for it! I love being inspired 24/7!

If you liked this little post, tell me in the comments and I'll do some more in this type of series...maybe favorite Etsy shop Instagrams, small businesses, beauty Instagrams....I have a lot of love to go around!

What are your favorite Instagram accounts to follow?

PS follow me on Instagram!

I had a completely other post scheduled for today but then Saturday night, while I was home alone in my pajamas, blogging, and watching Sex and the City, it dawned on me to write this sort of post.

I have mentioned it before and I'll mention it again—Carrie Bradshaw is my spirit animal. If you have ever met me there are a number of things I will talk about: my sorority, blogging, and Carrie Bradshaw are amongst the few.

She is one of the most glamorous television characters and hands down my favorite (aside from Blair Waldorf). She's a complicated yet simple journalist who lives fabulously in New York, with her best friends and countless boyfriends.

That's Ms. Bradshaw on the surface but there is so much more. I may sound silly when I say it but I relate to her, she says things that I would say, things I'm thinking. I have seen every single episode 100 times but each time I discover a new lesson, a new quote, a new eye opening realization.

Over the past year or so, I've seen so many articles bashing Carrie Bradshaw and while honestly, some of it is true, the other half is silly because um, it's a show. And I don't care if she was a "bad friend" or naive when it came to Mr. Big, she's awesome and I love her.

Ms. Bradshaw has taught me a lot over the years since I started watching "Sex and the City" and I feel like I have learned so much about who I am from watching the show.

Credit
Here's what my spirit animal, role model Carrie Bradshaw has taught me about life, love, and everything in between.

1. Always follow your heart: If there is one thing Bradshaw did was follow her heart. Whether it was in writing a book, a pair of Manolos, or Mr. Big, she knew what was right for her deep down. When she knew Mr. Big wasn't right for her (at the time), before he went to Paris, she broke it off. When she didn't want to marry Aidan, she broke it off. When she didn't like the cover of her book, she fought it. Her heart, her gut, her initiation was always right.

2. Things take time: Maybe this has more to do with love than work because Ms. Bradshaw was successful in her column and later her book but you can't rush something you want to last forever. Mr. Big and Carrie's relationship took FOREVER and it was a lot of back and forth but Carrie never gave up. She didn't "wait" around for him but she knew (and Charlotte knew as well) that they would end up together.

3. Own up to your mistakes: Carrie always admitted when she was wrong, even though those articles said she was a bad friend and all that jazz. When she cheated on Aidan with big, she did not try to blame him. She felt terrible about it and knew she was wrong. Even when she walked in on Samantha doing something inappropriate, she tried to apologize (even if it was after Samantha said she was upset). Realizing when you're wrong will help you live a better life, holding grudges is exhausting.

4. Get up after you've been knocked down: You're not going to die of a broken heart. Carrie Bradshaw is the definition of that. The love of her life left her at the alter for Christ's sake!! There is always a greener side to life...there is always something out there better for you. Carrie never let the bad things define her, she always picked her head up (even if it was after laying in bed for days on end).

5. Forgiveness is possible: Friend, foe, or romance, Carrie forgave and has been forgiven countless times. Miranda forgave her for letting Aidan take care of her when her neck was out, Aidan forgave Carrie for cheating, and Carrie forgave Big for EVERYTHING. Forgiveness is possible and necessary, no matter the issue at hand.

Honorable Mention: Shopping and a good pair of shoes fix ANY problem ;)

These seem like trivial, common lessons that all aspects of life could teach us, that anyone in our lives can tell us but the way Carrie Bradshaw and SATC does it is just more fun, don't you think?

Shall we quote some Carrie to end the post?

Do you like Sex and the City? Who's your favorite girl?

Sometimes, you really just need to feel inspired. Whether you're having a bad day, have some writers block, or just frustrated in general. Inspiration doesn't need to be for a creative reason, it could be the cure for anything.

Feeling inspired is obviously a great way to boost your creativity, whether you're a blogger or in any other profession. Everyone needs a way to get their creativity out.

But inspiration can be something else. Inspiration can help you get through a tough situation, help you make a tough decision, or can be there for you if you're feeling down about yourself.

I love being inspired, mostly for my blog but for life in general. There is nothing better than being in a bad mood and suddenly having your spirits lifted by something completely random.

Whenever I'm down (which is often) there are so many things that I do in order to feel better and get inspired. Whenever I'm experiencing some writers block, I sit back and just let my thoughts flow.

Everyone feels inspired in different ways but these are my favorites:

//Books, Movies, TV: I love curling up with a good book and getting lost in it for a few hours. It takes my mind off of things and sometimes, books are filled with the exact message or quote you need to wake up your mind. Binge watching on Netflix also makes me feel great because I'm so lost in the storylines and characters that I forget everything I was concerned about and I feel refreshed.

//Blogs: This is particularly good for when I have writers block. I'll check my Bloglovin feed or pick a random blog and go through the whole thing. I get ideas for posts, see what other people are doing and it just sparks something.

//Pinterest: This is obvious isn't it? I'm pretty sure everyone feels inspired on Pinterest. I don't even need to explain why.

//Montages: Okay this one is weird but it's one of my favorites. I love logging onto Youtube and searching my favorite TV montages or favorite movie scenes. For example, I love watching the last scene of the Boy Meets World Finale or watching the best moments of Carrie and Mr. Big. Lately I've been really into How I Met Your Mother montages and scenes because um, I'm still obsessed.

//Horoscopes: YUP. I'm going there. I love reading my horoscope and learning more about my sign. The best cure for anything is an accurate horoscope. I love the Refinery29, Cosmopolitan, and my ultimate favorite--The Daily Horoscope app. My sorority sister got all of my friends obsessed with our horoscopes and now I live and breathe by it.

//Elite Daily: Just like a Taylor Swift song, there is an Elite Daily article for every mood. Nothing is better than reading something written by someone else and having it be exactly what you needed to hear. Sometimes I read such an accurate article, I feel like I wrote it myself.

What do you do to inspire myself? Tell me in the comments so I could learn more!

I've posted about Sex and the City and Carrie Bradshaw quite a few times on the blog but lately, I've been feeling very much more 'Carrie' like. Maybe it's because in less than three months I'll be living the post grad life and trying to find my way, aspiring to be Carrie Bradshaw.

Or maybe it's because the internet has suddenly rediscovered Carrie and Co. There have been so many articles/discussions about 'Sex and the City' lately, I can't even keep up! I think most of that has to do with Sarah Jessica Parker's new shoe line and the fact that it's been 10 years since the iconic show ended (February 22nd, 2004 was the last air date).

Everyone is always and probably will always analyze SATC. It was such an important show, it changed the way women viewed their careers, friendships, sex and relationships. It changed the face of television and in a way, gave women more power than ever before. It gave women a voice to talk about whatever they wanted, even if it was a bit embarrassing.

I was never allowed to watch 'Sex and the City' growing up. It was too risque so my mom would shut her door and afterwards, I was allowed back into the room. It was only four years ago, right before the second movie came out, that I watched the entire series and the first film, in only three weeks. I was completely and utterly enthralled by Carrie's lifestyle and knew immediately that she was who I wanted to be.

Yes, she is selfish and whiny at times. Yes, she cheated on Aiden with Mr.Big and at times, she wasn't a good friend but hey, no one is perfect. I connect with Carrie Bradshaw on so many levels and honestly, she is my role model. There is no one I love more than Carrie.

I think Sex and the City is such an important, iconic show for all the reasons I already listed. It put fashion in the front row, right behind sex. No other show truly goes where SATC goes and at the same time, it's so entertaining.

SATC isn't real; Girls is the real version of our four lovely NYC ladies. SATC is the dream while Girls is the reality. It's okay that Carrie is a freelance sex columnist and can afford multiple pairs of Manolos. Something doesn't have to be relatable to be true, entertaining and fun.

I think SATC is something that is going to live on forever. It has survived the past ten years and has inspired new generations of Carrie's, Charlotte's, Miranda's and Samantha's. There is something for everyone in Sex and the City. You can always find a little inspiration in every single episode, and that says wonders for a show based around the taboo topic of sex.

A lot of people criticize the show because they feel that it focuses too much on the relationships between men and women; people say that Carrie and Co rely too much on the need of a good man. I think that's totally wrong. Yes, the show revolves around the relationships between the girls and their men but most importantly, the show is about friendship and finding out who you truly are as a woman. Carrie gets her heart broken, as do the rest of the gals but in the end, in true SATC fashion, they have each other.

"Don't laugh at me, but maybe we could be each other's soul mates. Then we could let men be just these great, nice guys to have fun with."

It goes places that it shouldn't, talking about topics that may make you uncomfortable if you watch an episode with your dad. But it's also so glamorous, enthralling and inspiring. It has a quote for every mood or situation, Carrie gets a book deal and writes for Vogue, Miranda is a powerful lawyer that doesn't let the glass ceiling stand in her way. This isn't just a show about sex, it's about women.

Whether you love Aiden or Mr. Big, love or hate Samantha's antics or think Carrie Bradshaw is overrated, you cannot deny that Sex and the City has totally inspired and changed the way we as women look at the world around us.

Not to mention all the shoes....

Here are my favorite articles about Sex and the City:

What are your opinions on Sex and the City?

Believe in Miracles

in , , , by RoyallyPink, 7:30 AM
Miracle is such a funny word. It's something that people throw around very casually in every day jargon. The word miracle doesn't really have a true meaning because no one truly knows what it means.

By definition, the word miracle is: a surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency.

Some people though, don't understand what witnessing a miracle entails, some don't believe in miracles at all. I assume most people don't believe in miracles because they are the work of the divine, whoever your divine is. If you don't believe in any type of god, your belief in miracles might be negated.

I am someone who truly believes in miracles. I've seen quite a few in my lifetime, and I'm only 21 years old. When someone is suddenly sick and they are deemed as someone who is not going to make it, I've seen that happen a few times too many.

I watched it happen this weekend. I witnessed the powers of a miracle, how something is so clearly defined and then, by some magic way, the course of life is suddenly changed.

The power of good thoughts, good vibes, love, and prayers can create something inhuman. I don't mean to stand on a soapbox but when weekends like this happen, it's just amazing how your mind can shift.

Having a miracle like this weekend happen really and truly puts things into perspective. It makes you appreciate the littlest things in life, it makes you thankful for everyone and everything around you because in a sudden instant, it can all be taken away. In an instant, life as you know it can flash before your eyes and it can change.

It's scary how things work, how timing is everything and how everything happens for a reason. Nothing is by chance, nothing is a coincidence. It's all fate and all about having faith.

Start off the week right, do something different and never take anything for granted. Appreciate life for every little moment it offers you.

When I was younger, I never really idolized anyone. I had my favorite artists, musically, but other than that, there was no women in the spotlight of Hollywood that I looked up too. I guess I never paid much attention or wasn't mature enough to recognize what it takes to actually be classified as a role model for someone.

Things have changed and now I have a few girl crushes that inspire me in different ways. There is one that completely takes the cake though and that is the lovely and successful Bethenny Frankel.

I wrote a review of Bethenny's SkinnyGirl facial towelettes last year which featured some of my feelings toward the billionaire lady. Since then, my love for the once reality star has completely skyrocketed.

Bethenny's new talk show premiered on FOX a few weeks ago and I've been DVRing it every day since the premiere to watch later in the day since I have class at 11am when it's on.

I watched the first episode when it premiered and sat in a chair and cried. I was so overwhelmed by the love I felt bursting out of my chest for this woman who came from practically nothing. I couldn't express in sentence form, at the time, how I felt watching her premiere talk show.

If you don't know Bethenny's story it's an awe inspiring one. Her father bailed on the family when she was younger and her mother remarried another man. Bethenny's mother drank heavily and would verbally abuse young Bethenny. Bethenny went to high school in Florida then went onto culinary school and NYU while also working at a young age.

Bethenny slowly worked her way up the ladder and eventually became part of the Real Housewives of New York despite not being married and not being as wealthy as the other women on the show. There is where she launched the SkinnyGirl Margarita which turned into SkinnyGirl Cocktails. Bethenny also  met Jason Hoppy, her now ex husband on the show.

When Bethenny left RHONY she scored her own Bravo show called "Bethenny Getting Married" which turned into "Bethenny Ever After" where she got married to Jason and had a beautiful baby girl, Bryn.

Jason and Bethenny are now getting divorced and after much distress, Bethenny launched SkinnyGirl Cocktails into the limelight and made it a multi-billion dollar company. She created something for herself despite all her hardships.

She gives me hope and it may sound so silly  because she was a reality star but the way she built up herself and her empire and made her dreams come true when hardballs were thrown her way. Bethenny doesn't let anything get her down, she doesn't give up, even when the world tells her she should.

She is completely inspirational to me and the way she wants to give back to people who are like her, the way she wants to make people happy is awe-inspiring.

The other side of Bethenny is the way that she doesn't care what anyone says about her. She is the queen of TMI and will say it like it is. She is completely honest in everything she says and does. She is REAL and I love nothing more than a celebrity who tells it like it is.

Bethenny is someone who gives me the chills every time I watch her because she is just so true.

Even so, it's still hard to put into words why I love Bethenny so much and what she has done for me. Everyone needs to check out her talk show on FOX at 11am (EST), it will change your life!
A few weeks ago, I saw an article that featured Jenna Lyons, the President and Creative Director of J.Crew. It went behind the scenes of Lyons office at J.Crew and I instantly fell in love.

It's no secret that Lyons has completely turned the J.Crew brand around, into something that is classic, preppy, and on board with a younger generation. It's changed so much in recent years that it is royally pissing people off.

I don't care though; I've fallen in love with J.Crew so much this past year and I love Jenna Lyons.

But back to her office....

Is it not amazing? I just think that there is so much creativity and so much inspiration hidden between those walls. It astounds me!

I LOVE office spaces; I don't know if it's because everything always seems to be in their place or there is some sort of organized chaos going on but I feel like an office is a sanctuary, sort of like a bedroom.

Offices need to be inspirational, they need to be clean and calm but also reflect who you are as a person. An office is where the magic of the business happens so it needs to stimulate your mind and inspire you in a multitude of ways.

Fun fact: My favorite photos on Instagram are of people's work spaces, whether it's a coffee shop, their home office, or a simple at home desk. I LOVE seeing what inspires people and I think when someone snaps a photo of their

I've always felt like this, ever since I was a little girl. My desk is my favorite piece of furniture. I spend more time sitting at my desk than I do anywhere else. Ask my roommates at college; over the past three years I probably sat in my desk chair more than I sat on a couch. I LOVE being at my desk, I get the most work done there and it always has to be in impeccable shape.

Now that I'm moving into an apartment off campus, I have a fabulous black and white desk that I will be decorating with great accessories and keeping in tip top shape.

Ever since I saw the photos of Jenna Lyon's chaotic but inspirational office, I've been even more obsessed with photos of fabulous office spaces.

Pinterest is obviously a great place to search for inspiration and here's what I've found.

I love the interior design and all the detail that is showcased in these rooms. The inspiration I find with these offices/desk areas amazes me. There is something so calming and peaceful about getting an inside look at someone else's space.

Maybe I'm just nosy, or I'm an inspiration junkie.

What inspires you? What are some of your favorite office looks?

It's something so simple. It's a phrase that we have been hearing since before we could understand what it truly meant.

The Best Is Yet To Come

I've been telling myself that for the past few years and I've gotten sick of hearing it. I've gotten sick of living my life by this phrase because nothing was coming. The 'best' seemed to have lost my address and wasn't planning on making an arrival any time soon.

I was so tired of watching everyone else go on with their lives, all these amazing things happening to them and I was just standing still.

That is, until everything seemed to fall into place. A series of events, recently, kind of made me feel that everything isn't always what it seems and the bad stuff won't always last forever.

I'm still waiting for a lot of good stuff to happen to me but I think I'm on the right track. So I think I have fully encompassed this saying, the best IS yet to come, even if you don't think it is.

I've been obsessively watching 'How I Met Your Mother' for a week and I'm starting to wonder how I ever lived without MaClarens and suiting up.

The show is the perfect combination of funny, inspirational, and ridiculous. I'm pretty in love with the show because it's genius. Think about it; there are details in the pilot episode that are later referenced in the fifth season. It's so well thought out and it makes me wonder how the writers and producers do it. My favorite is probably the slapbet and slapsgiving; I just love it!

I especially love the life lessons and quotes that adult Ted give his kids. I love the entire message of HIMYM; the fact that Ted is such a hopeless romantic and believes in love so much that he'll do anything to make it happen is one of my favorite parts.

I was finishing up season 4 on Netflix last night and Ted gave a voiceover that I cannot stop thinking about.

I'm a big believer in destiny and serendipity and I think this quote perfectly encompasses that. I believe that the universe does point you in the directions needed to have your life turn out the way it's supposed to but it's your job to take the necessary steps to make it happen.

I also love being reminded that your life could change at any moment; that the decision to go to that movie, to take the long way to class, or go out when you wanted to stay home could change your life in an instant.

'How I Met Your Mother' is filled with these lessons on life and love which adds something special to this amazing show.

Inspiration

I've probably mentioned before that I'm big on inspiration. Being inspired is one of the greatest things life has to offer, in my opinion.

I love reading a book, watching a movie, or just sitting outside and suddenly something hits you square in the face. It could be a story idea, a blog post, or something that will enlighten your life in a different way.

I love being inspired; I love getting a new outlook on life or a situation. It refreshes your mind and gives you that motivation to continue a project, or try something new, or just live another day with a new perspective.

I am inspired by the most random things at the most random times; Pinterest can inspire me. A blog post by another blogger can inspire me. A quote, something that I overhear, or a professor...inspiration can be found everywhere.

Whenever I feel inspired, I need to do something. I get this boost of motivation, a boost of energy to do something new and exciting.

It kind of radiates through my body until I do something with it, whether it's tell someone or write it down--I need to make an action.

Lately, I haven't really felt inspired which is disappointing. I haven't read any books, watched any movies, or done anything that really made me feel amazing. I owe that to the end of the semester and all the fun I've been having.

Being inspired kind of makes me feel like an old soul and lately, I've been wanting to do nothing that enjoy each day as it comes and enjoy my time being young.

Although, with the school year winding down and summer straight ahead, part of me is excited to go home, relax, and be inspired again.

Sitting in my yard, reading a book, and just having your mind being at piece is a great way to reflect and I'm starting to crave that feeling again, even if leaving school is the last thing I want to do.

Here is a quote that was on my Pinterest board and I kind of fell in love with it all over again.

What are the ways you like to be inspired?
