Today is International Women's Day and this month is Women's History Month. I thought that I would replace what I originally had on the calendar today with something honoring today.

I have a lot of thoughts on the things that are happening in the world right now, conerning women -- some of my thoughts are the majority, and some aren't so popular. I want to be equal to men, but I don't think I'm better than a man -- that is a broad description of my feelings.

However, I did want to acknowledge today because it does make me feel empowered, and women empower me as a whole. I think we're amazing, and we do so much -- we have so much ambition and drive, and it's truly inspiring.

I wanted to highlight some of my favorite women who inspire me, some of the things created by women that inspire me, and anything having to do with women really.

I think that women have been being celebrated lately, there is a movement going on and something in the air but it is important to have this day!

Shonda Rhimes: She is truly one of the best women in the entertainment industry. She is so smart, so  ambitious, and so inspiring. She gave us Olivia Pope, Meredith Grey, and everyone inbetween. How do you not LOVE and celebrate Shonda Rhimes every chance you get?

Bethenny Frankel: Bethenny is a BOSS BITCH and she lets everyone around her know it! She is truly what I aspire to be. She goes after what she wants and is unapologetic. We also saw her go from someone who was struggling to one rich ass woman. She's incredible.

Erika Nardini: You may not know her but I sure do. She's the FEMALE CEO of Barstool Sports, my favorite website ever. Barstool is not everyone's cup of tea but I love it more than life. It's like this other part of my life and Erika is the kickass leader of the pirate ship!

Hilary Clinton: This may be an unpopular opinion but I don't think it's one I need to explain.

Michelle Obama: A POPULAR opinion but also not one I need to explain.

All the Kardashians: I don't care what anyone says. These ladies are the most hardworking women ever, they chase their dreams and have a drive inside of them I can only wish for.

*All bloggers/women business owners inspire me to the fullest! I love watching these women go after what they want and just owning

My favorite women owned/started companies:

Brit + Co
Shop Evil Queen

Tory Burch
Kate Spade
Rebecca Minkoff

My favorite women authors:

I can't have a list without my girl, the number one inspiration for my life, Carrie Bradshaw!

Happy International Women's Day to the all the badass women out there!

Happy Friday! Another week has passed and it's time for the weekend. Will I ever stop looking forward to the weekend? I don't know and that's quite sad.

This week was super duper long: a photo shoot on Monday, after work drinks on Tuesday, and just an exhausting Wednesday & Thursday filled with a lot of gut-wrenching too personal for the blog stuff. I am taking the weekend to rest and recharge, and work a little and I simply cannot wait.

I'm going to go shopping at Target and Bath & Body Works today to get some Christmas stuff and also get some Thanksgiving stuff together. We are less than a week away from my favorite holiday of the year, and my birthday is a week after that!

I have a fun little birthday giveaway as well as a heartfelt post to celebrate my 25th birthday so keep an eye out for that. I also have a few fun posts coming before the end of the month and I cannot wait to post them!!

So, I was a model this week. We did a photoshoot for work for some new products and they needed an extra model so look who got done up??

Like am I the next Gigi Hadid? I think so!

I got a new blog planner & it's too cute for words!

Anyways... here is what I loved this week!
What you missed on Royally Pink:
Have a great weekend!

Podcasts have been around for a while but they always seemed like something nerdy or not mainstream. Podcasts had this weird image of being done in your parents' basement and 2 people listened.

I think I've taken noticed of within the past year that podcasts have truly blown up and are taking over the world. Everyone has a podcast nowadays and every publication has a few under their belt. It's almost like the new blog because everyone has one.

I even experimented with it and I really liked it, but then I suddenly stopped. I felt like I just jumped in without having a clear cut idea of what I wanted to talk about or what I wanted the podcast to be about... it was bad branding and I know better. Hopefully I'll pick up Basic Bri again in the future, we'll see...

All this being said, I've been obsessing over podcasts lately. I canceled my Audible subscription (for now) because I was listening to so many podcasts on my commute instead of my audiobooks. Some of the podcasts are directly related to my interests, and some are super random but I wanted to tell you about them because they've been such a huge part of my life right now.

podcasts-favorite podcasts

1. Fat Mascara: This is a podcast everyone at work was telling me to listen to forever, and when I finally listened, I understood why. It's by two beauty editors who talk about nothing but beauty and it's everything I've ever wanted. From talking about the latest beauty releases to interviewing the big time beauty names, it's a must listen for all beauty lovers.

2. Podfathers: I've never mentioned this but if you follow me on Twitter, you'll know what I'm talking about... I love Barstool Sports. It's controversial for a girl to love a website that has something called "Smokeshow of the Week" but I don't care. I love following these guys, mostly because they remind me of my guy friends & my friends have been hardcore Stoolies for years. Well, they have truly made a splash in the podcast game and this is a weird one for me to be drawn to; mostly because it's for dads. Now, I am a female and I don't have kids but I still love listening to KFC, Clem, and Chaps talk about their kids and shoot the shit. It's light hearted and hysterical and absurd--sometimes everything you could want on a commute.

3. Straight Up with Stassi: My love of Vanderpump Rules & the villain that is Stassi is a perfect combo for me to love this podcast. It's typical Stassi in her natural habit of being a bitch and talking about a lot of nonsense. It's for the everygirl for sure, and for the classic betch. Just download one episode, I promise you'll be hooked.

4. Glossy: Glossy is a website that follows the business behind fashion & beauty; not the trends but the true business and business trends. It's fascinating to me and I read it every morning so when I found out that they have a podcast, I downloaded every episode. I love listening to business people talk about their lives, businesses, and everything that makes up the industry. It's super interesting and a must listen for anyone who is fascinated by business and careers.

A few honorable mentions: Girlboss Radio, Work Wives, Cosmo Happy Hour, Unstyled, How I Built This.
