This year was the year I was going to stop shopping, but of course, that didn't happen. I do think I made some improvements -- I didn't spend as frivolously or impulsively as I have in previous years. I was a little more wise with where my dollar was going and with what was coming into my house.

This might go down as the year where I came to the realization that I do not need as much as I think I do. It was the year where the big purchases I made, made an impact.

It sounds so much more poetic and deep than what it actually is but it's true. The items on this list, while not a comprehensive catalog of everything I spent money on in 2024, are items that I loved and truly used on a consistent basis.

Let's get into it, shall we?

There has been a trend going around for the past year or so that I have taken to very kindly and that's tailored jackets. They've been every where for over a year and throughout the seasons, we've seen different styles, materials, colors, and silhouettes.

These tailored jackets are the definition of quiet luxury; they're fit, flattering, and completely classic. You can dress them up or down, wear them to work or to dinner and I think they are the perfect addition to every wardrobe.

You guys really enjoyed the first installment of my fashion blogger-ness so I'm excited to continue the trend!

I had a weird week in terms of fashion. I was uncomfortable and hated everything I wore. I changed a thousand times and couldn't find my groove. I truly feel as if I need an entire new wardrobe and I need to figure that out.

This week's outfits were spent at work and on Saturday, dinner with my boyfriend. I didn't snap photos during the day on Saturday or Sunday because I was in gym clothes/leggings.

You'll be happy to know I didn't wear my Zella leggings at all during the week so we're making fashion progress!

For now, let's get into this week's outfits.

I was never the hat, glove, scarf kind of girl growing up. I didn't like them and felt they were too bothersome. Now that I'm older and realize the importance of being warm while commuting to and from work, I cannot get enough of these items.

When I realized that they were extra accessories that I could make fancy and chic, I was even more inclined to own and make use of them.

Clearly, my favorite cold weather accessories come from my girl Kate Spade but J.Crew Factory & Aerie have some adorable items too.

I've been loving a headband from J.Crew --it's not as warm as a hat but I feel like a true fashionista whenever I have it on. I feel like it can dress up any outfit and make it look like you're trying just a bit more. It's not available anymore but you can find a similar one here.

My mom bought this 'Hello Gorgeous' Kate Spade hat for my birthday and I've been loving it. The pom pom detail is very trendy and I love the hot pink color since I don't wear that much color as it is.

Below are a few other of my favorite picks for the cold weather -- I especially love a good tech glove (I got a pair of Kate Spade ones during their surprise sale) and I've had this pair of UGG ear muffs for close to 10 years and they're still holding up beautifully.

What are your favorite winter accessories this year?

I've noticed one thing this winter/holiday season and that is that teddy bear, fuzzy coats are having a huge moment. I for one, am all for this trend because I think these coats look very chic and fashionable but not over the top.

Anyone can pull off one of these coats and to me, they dress up any outfit. You can wear a fuzzy, cozy coat with sweats and sneakers but it'll look like street style.

These coats also feel super fancy and can enhance a very dressy outfit.

I have a white fuzzy/furry coat that I got at J.Crew Factory last year (it's no longer available) and I get so many compliments on it! It makes me feel so put together and is just the perfect touch to any outfit.

I wore my coat to my birthday brunch over the weekend!
Here's a saved Instagram story!

I love these coats so much and I want to try to add at least one more (maybe a leopard one?) to my collection before the season ends!

Below are a few that I rounded up, mostly under $200!

PS: The leopard one from Target is to DIE FOR!

What are your thoughts on these fuzzy coat trends?

I'm currently sitting on my couch with my aunt, uncle, & mom, watching Football and awaiting for the appriporate time to eat leftovers.

I was going to blog Wednesday & yesterday but just didn't have the time. I was cooking and baking and had to run errands, and I was just exhausted by the end of it.

I wanted to have this post up earlier but I woke up late and was spending time with my family (and working because uh, it's the biggest shopping day of the year).

I've already shopped a few Black Friday sales before Black Friday even began, so I don't have too much shopping to do but I still wanted to round up my favorite sales of the day/weekend.

Kate Spade: 30% off with code GIVEJOY

May Designs: 40% off notebooks, 20% off accessories

Nordstrom: Extra 20% off sale items

Charlotte Tilbury: 50% off select kits & deals all weekend long

*I really am tempted to buy one of the beauty advent calendars for 50% off and I'm doing my best to resist temptation.

J.Crew: 40% off your purchase

J.Crew Factory: 50-60% off everything

Sephora also is having their $15 and under kit sale which I also shopped and picked up this IT Cosmetics skincare set.

Don't pass on QVC today either; 5 ezpayments on all their beauty & electronic items AND free shipping on everything. It's a must shop in my opinion.

Let me know what you're buying!! Happy Shopping!

Leopard is BACK and in a big way! I knew it was coming back when the Nordstrom anniversary sale had an incredible amount of leopard pieces to choose from. Now that we're in the full swing of Fall, leopard is everywhere.

I've talked about the trend before but with every day that passes, I find something new that I can't get my mind off of.

My girl Kate Spade is leading the charge with a huge leopard collection and I really feel like I need at least something from the line. Nordstrom also has a few great pieces and I'm eyeing them up for sure.

I wanted to round up my favorite leopard pieces, some of which I have and some of which I need.

Are you feeling the leopard trend?

I was always a little self conscious about my sense of style. I really like to be comfortable and for my outfits to be easy. I don't wear heels, I don't wear items that don't make me feel good, I hardly even wear jeans anymore.

However, the Fall season instills something in me and I get the will to be stylish. I also have been really admirable of my favorite fashion bloggers, like Emily Gemma -- she's always been one of my favorite bloggers but recently, I've become even more obsessed. Her fashion sense is attainable, seems comfortable, but also fun and stylish. She is definitely my style icon right now.

I've also become more in tune to trends. I have to be on top of beauty trends for work (and also because I like too) but now fashion has kind of trickled into that realm as well.

The trends for Fall are very apparent right now; sometimes I feel like there's nothing 'on trend' because it's just sweaters and boots but this year, there is a noticeable shift in the industry and what you're seeing brands put out.

I rounded up my favorite trends of the season (so far) and what I'll definitely be rocking!

Velvet: During the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, I noticed that everything was velvet. I gave into the trend and purchased a velvet bag and smoking jacket. No matter the price point or what item you're tempted to buy, velvet is going to be everywhere this fall and winter.

Leopard Shoes: Jenna Lyons once said 'As far as I'm concerned, leopard is a neutral' and I couldn't agree more. Ever since I was a pre-teen, leopard was my favorite print. I even persuaded my mom to accent my 11-year-old bedroom with leopard accessories. That's why I'm so excited that leopard shoes are having a moment. From flats to heels, everyone is wearing leopard. I already got a pair from J.Crew and am hoping to add at least one or two more different types to my wardrobe this season.

Bell Sleeves: This is a newer trend I'm noticing but I'm into it! I don't know how it's going to look on me but I just ordered this top from J.Crew so we'll see! Everyone is showing an accent sleeve, whether it's bell or ruffles and I think it looks really flattering. It's feminine without being overly girly but still looks very polished and put together.

Athleisure: This has been around for a while and I don't think it's going anywhere.. which I'm very happy about! Athleisure is becoming a little chicer instead of looking like you're actually going to the gym. I've been loving how Emily Gemma is styling all her athleisure clothes, and I really have my eye on this Nike Crop Top everyone has been rocking since the NSale!

What trends are you most looking forward to this year?

July is here and the summer is almost over! We're so close to Fall!

Ok I'll stop now! I don't like when people remind me that winter is ending and spring is coming so I'll spare all you summer lovers!

I'm writing this on 4th of July because my plans got canceled and I haven't been feeling too great this weekend. I was super hungover on Sunday and I was running errands all day Monday so I feel like my body hasn't had a chance to truly catch up with itself. The good news is that I work Wednesday & Thursday and I'm off again on Friday -- this is the ultimate summer week.

As we move further into the summer, the weeks are going to get busier so I need to get my sh*t together. Trips, conferences, and fun things are going to happen within the next few weeks!

For now, however, let's get into my June favorites!

1. J.Crew Drapey Tank Top: I ordered one of these tank tops at the beginning of the season and fell in love with it. It's so comfortable and you can dress it up or down, depending on where you're going. It goes with everything-- jeans, leggings, shorts. I was so obsessed that I went back to J.Crew Factory and bought one in every color. I have purple, salmon, grey, black, and blue. I might have to go get the white one just to complete the collection.

2. Friday + Saturday Brunette Baseball Hat: I've been wanting to get into the baseball hat trend for a while but I wanted a cute, punny one. I saw this one on Shop Riff Raff and couldn't pass it up. It's so cute and makes any outfit a touch more casual and trendy. I haven't stopped wearing it all month long!

3. NARS Liquid Blush in Orgasm: I ravved about this in a post and a video this month but I had to mention it again. It's the only blush I've been wearing and it looks so natural and gorgeous, you could make it the only product you're wearing!

4. Benefit Total Moisture Face Cream: My skin has been on the drier side lately, which is weird for the hot summer but the one product that has been really helping me is the Benefit Cosmetics moisturzer. I talked about it my latest beauty video and while I haven't pulled the trigger on a full size yet, I will soon because I'm running out of the sample. It's super thick and hydrating but doesn't leave your skin greasy or tacky like you'd think a heavy cream would. It's so gooooooood!

What were your favorites this month?

Last week I tackled my favorite shoes, but this week it's all about the sweaters. I don't think I wear anything BUT sweaters in the fall & winter. I don't have any regular shirts besides sweaters and graphic sweatshirts (that's another post for another day). I love how they feel and how they look; sweaters can be dressed up or dressed down, worn with heels, flats, or riding boots.

They're so versatile and so comfortable, and that's what I want in my wardrobe.

I don't shop at a lot of different stores. I stick to what I like and what I know, but this year I ventured outside of brands but got most of them at Nordstrom, my favorite retailer.

I've worn all my sweaters at this point, at least once, and I definitely have my favorites. Therefore, I wanted to share them all with you!

fashion files-fashion-jcrew sweaters

These are my favorite sweaters as of late, and it's no surprise that they're all from J.Crew Factory! I am truly obsessed with the store, and thankful that they're always having sales & that I have a credit card. You can get anything and everything from J.Crew and it never disappoints.

I do have a lot of other sweaters that I rotate through, but they aren't available online anymore.

Here are a few similar ones:

What is your favorite store for fall sweaters?
The weather in New York has been...well rather less than appealing. I love cold weather more than anyone I've ever met but to be wearing a jacket in May and having cold rain for a week straight is less than ideal.

That being said, I have not yet broken into my spring essentials. I switched my closet over a while ago but thankfully I didn't put all my winter clothes away... or better said, I didn't take all my spring & summer clothes out.

I'm hoping that the last of the bad weather is behind us because I can definitely get on board with nice weather (70 degrees & a light breeze is my ideal). If this is the case, I need some more spring clothes & accessories. I much prefer shopping for the winter and I always have more clothes for the cold months.

When spring & summer roll around, I do a nice amount of shopping for clothes and shoes. Shoes are something I'm always in desperate need of, no matter the season.

I've put off buying until now, waiting to see what I have and what I needed.

I'm looking more toward casual & chic this spring, especially things I can wear to work. Last summer was all about comfort, and I'll never let go of that, but I want to be slightly more fashionable.

We'll see if I end up getting any of these items!

What are you looking to buy this season?

So I think the title of this blog post is a little misleading. I'm talking about my favorites for fall fashion but it's mostly sweaters.

Sweaters are my favorite item of clothing, especially during the fall. I think they are the most versatile piece of clothing you can keep in your closet. You can dress them up with heels, dress pants, and a chunky statement necklace or you can dress it down with leggings and UGG slippers.

Please, give me all the sweaters!

Sweaters are a staple for me at work -- I have a uniform during the winter and that is black or navy blue jeans/jeggings, a sweater, statement necklace, riding boots or ankle boots.

Because of the previous statements, most of my wish list consists of sweaters. Sorry if that's not your thing but there are so many pretty clothes to share!

There are a few jackets, vests, and jeans included in this slideshow but honestly, I think I'm set for jeans. I bought a few pairs at American Eagle over the past few weeks and I'm obsessed. You can find those items here, here, & here.

I think a few, really good pairs of pants should be the first priority, then you can just switch out tops to have a complete wardrobe. Grab a good pair of neutral riding boots, ankle booties, flats, a good classic neutral handbag and you are good to go!

My number one places to shop for any sort of wardrobe are American Eagle Outfitters & J.Crew Factory -- similar enough to be cohesive in one closet but different enough that not everything is the same.

What are your fall fashion staples?

I never post about sales going on, especially during a holiday weekend. My bloglovin feed is always clogged with these types of posts, and they're always the same sales.

Well, today I feel like being a basic blogger betch and posting all about the sales that I think are worthy of hitting up -- and some that I will surely be taking advantage of.

I, for one, am so happy to see Labor Day arrive because that means summer is over! While it still may be warm out (it's going to hit 90 degrees in NYC this week), fall is truly here. Pumpkin spice, dark nail colors, and riding boots will soon be making their arrival and I need it like I need fall air to breathe.

What better way to celebrate the end of a season with some shopping and stocking up on fall favorites.

When you're doing all this online sale shopping, make sure to sign up for Ebates to get cash back on your purchases. They're also having a Labor Day special where you can earn double cash back on certain retailers!

Happy shopping :)

December went incredibly fast...way too fast for my liking. I so enjoy the Christmas season. My favorite thing to do this month was light a candle, turn on a Christmas movie, light the Christmas tree, and sit on the couch for the entire night.

There was nothing more relaxing.

I needed all the relaxation I could get this month...my personal life was a mess and I felt as if I was spiraling out of control. I just couldn't get a grip on anything and it was incredibly frustrating.

I got past it, with the help of the holidays and satisfying my sweet tooth. I'm in a much better place now and ready to really get my shit together.

I was really sad to see the Christmas season go...we took down my Christmas tree and there's no more red cups at Starbucks and life is just not as fun without Christmas.

Anyways...I had so many favorite things this month (most of them beauty products) and I tried out so many new beauty products so those reviews will be up and coming soon.

For now, here's some favorites.

NYX Wonder Pencil: I saw this in an article online and went out to the drugstore that day and found the last one at my CVS. I have the shade 'medium' and it's basically a 'do everything' pencil. The packaging says you could use it as an eye brightener or neutral lip liner but I've only used it on my eyes. I put it in my water line every day, even on days I don't wear makeup, just to widen and brighten my eyes, making me appear more awake.

Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara by Tarte: I'm not a huge mascara buff; I'm not too picky when it comes to any makeup aside from concealer so I switch it up a lot. I got this baby in the Bon Voyage Collectors set and I haven't been using anything else. It's a skinny wand, not too wet of a formula, and makes my lashes really long and separates them. It's a great everyday mascara and I've been addicted.

Sweaters: This is such a random favorite but I'm obsessed with sweaters. I live for the fall and winter seasons so it's rare that I'll be in anything but a sweater. I love my J.Crew sweaters for standard wear and dressing them up with a statement necklace or scarf. My favorite though, has been my oversized American Eagle cardigan. Talk about comfortable. Ugh, it's heaven!

Clarisonic: I feel like this should be a January favorite because I got this bad boy for Christmas and only have been using it for two weeks but I can't get enough. I'll do an entire post at the end of the month about it but I've never known how much I needed this. My skin is singing praises since I started using it!

Aerie Waffle Sleep Leggings: Another random favorite from Christmas...I got these pajama pants from my mom and really haven't been wearing anything else. They're super comfortable and stretchy but cinch at the ankle like leggings. They're just as the name says, legging pajamas and my mom thought they'd be uncomfortable but it's the total opposite. I love sleeping and lounging in these because I don't feel like I'm wearing pajamas. Give me more pairs!

Californication: I feel as if I always have a TV favorite but this was the show of the month. I watched 7 seasons within a week and a half and already started rewatching it because I missed it so much. It's super easy to go through but dear lord, it's inappropriate. Sex, drugs, nudity...but the story is incredible. I'm addicted and it's definitely one of my top 5 shows of all time!

I have so much fun stuff planned for January and the rest of the year so stay tuned :)

What was your favorites in the month of December?

I honestly think there is no harder person to buy a gift for than a man. Whether it's your dad, grandpa, brother, boyfriend...it doesn't matter—what the hell do you get them?

Every man is similar and different in tastes...some like wallets, some don't; some love watches, other's hate them. I almost feel bad for men because I'm pretty sure everyone ends up getting them cologne or something from their favorite sports team.

My poor father has suffered endless amounts of Christmas and birthdays with Yankee memorabilia since I was old enough to buy gifts.

When thinking of gift guides to blog about, I knew men had to be included.

Here are some unique picks as well as some traditional,  no brainer man gifts.

It's been freezing in NYC lately...like abnormally cold for November. A lot of people have been complaining but I honestly love this weather.

There is something so nice about walking in Manhattan, dark and cold, after work. I may be weird but I know I'm not alone in saying that I love the cold weather.

Dressing for the cold is never a problem for me...it's so much easier to just throw on a pair of jeans and boots for work than it is for me to dress for the heat.

There's also nothing nicer than having a weekend winter uniform that is so cozy and lush, you don't even want to put pajamas on.

Winter clothes are my favorite and these are some of my favorite looks, both for work and the weekend.

Winter Work

The Fall weather has been such a tease. The summer is not my favorite time of year, even though sometimes I pretend it is but it's not. I live for the weather between September and February. I love bundling up in sweaters, dark lipstick colors and nail polish, and lighting a candle at night.

UGH. I LOVE IT.

Last week the weather in NYC was a tad bit cooler and for once I could wear jeans and not be totally uncomfortable. It's cooling down and I'm ready to swap out all my summer clothes for my fall ones.

I do have a fair amount of Fall clothes in my wardrobe but not really enough. While in college, I pretty much lived in yoga pants, leggings and my sorority letters. I didn't wear much else to class and on the weekends but then at night, I'd dress up so my nice, comfortable and stylish Fall clothes didn't get much use.

Don't get me wrong, I still wear my sorority letters and leggings around the house and while running errands, of course! I'm wearing them now as I write this blog post but still, I'm 21 years old, out of college and have my own big girl job. I WANT to wear stylish clothes and not hang out in lounge wear all day.

Like I said, I have a fair amount of good quality Fall clothes but hey, I'm a girl and I love shopping (#retailtherapy) and what better time to make new investments in clothing other than the start of a new season?

Here is what I'm lusting after this Fall and some staples I want to incorporate into my wardrobe.

//Street Level Reversible Faux Leather Tote: I saw Hallie from Corals and Cognacs blog about this little gem as her #NYFW bag and that sold me right then and there. Then I find out the bag is $48? BOOM. It's reversible in many colors? BOOM. I need this bag in my life and I'm praying it doesn't sell out before my next paycheck arrives. I am a tote loving gal and handbags are my bread and butter but I never go with classic leather totes. I'm always reaching for canvas material bags but as a grown up now, I feel that this is appropriate. I'll take the black/cognac color please!

//Ankle Booties: I am such a boot gal; riding boots and Uggs (shame on me, I know) are my favorites and I pretty much live in them for the next few months. I'd like to expand my horizons and get on the ankle bootie trend because I've been seeing them everywhere lately and feel the need to hop on this train. I feel like ankle booties are perfect for a night out or even to wear to work because they have a bit of a heel and I'm not a huge heel lover. They're so versatile and that's what I think I'll love about them. Here are some pairs that I'm loving. 1 2 3

//Plain, chunky sweaters: My favorite Fall look has to be a long, chunky sweater with leggings and a pair of boots, booties or smoking slippers. I have one or two chunky sweaters that can achieve this look but I want more! These are exactly what I'm looking for 1  3

//Ballet Flats: I'm not going to wear boots everyday and even though the weather gets a bit nippy toward November and December, I still love a good ballet flat for the Fall. I go through ballet flats like no ones business (maybe because I wore them to bars and sticky Fraternity basement parties) but I'm in desperate need of them. Send these babies my way: 1 2 3

//Fun Sweaters: As you could tell I'm big on sweaters. I just love them so much! They look good with anything and you can dress them up or down. Give me all the sweaters! I love the trend of adding some cute sayings and designs. I always loved graphic tees from Delias and Aeropostale when I was younger so this is sort of the grown up version. Wish list items here please: 1 2 3

Honorable mentions: JCrew Herringbone vest , more AE jeans, GiGi NY Clutch and pretty much everything on my Pinterest boards.

What fashion trends are you going to try this Fall? What's on your wishlist? Tell me so I can add more items to mine ;)
