Olive & June press ons are the only ones that I've ever really loved, and continue to use. They're easy to apply, are very strong and durable, and last for over a week or even longer. I try to limit my purchases of these press ons because they're obviously a little bigger than your standard bottle of nail polish and I don't have a great place to store them all, but when there's a new color or design that is calling my name, I can't resist.

As soon as I saw that Olive & June released a Halloween shop, filled with press ons and nail stickers I knew I was going to need a few of them. Olive & June has the best seasonal items; they're the right amount of cute and chic, so you can still have a mature manicure while being festive.

 Something creeps into the air... or to my TBR list the moment the calendar turns to October 1st. Suddenly, like everyone else, I want to read nothing but spooky books. I don't mean scary books, I read those year round, I mean spooky books about witches, halloween, and magic. 

Ever since I could remember, I've always been fascinated with witches. I used to 'play witches' when I was younger and would write down spells in a spellbook and try to do magic. Now that I'm older, my appreciation for witches comes full circle since I love crystals, manifestation, and all things 'woo woo'.

That also has crept into my reading material and every October I find the newest witchy reads to sink my teeth into. This year is no exception because there are so many great books out there to get you in the spirit! 

These are some of the books that are on my witchy TBR and I'll also link past reviews on other magical reads I've loved.

 I've always loved decorating for fall and usually started the day after Labor Day (sometimes even on Labor Day itself!) I love looking for new decor pieces and picking something new to add to my collection. However, until now, I think my choice in decor was slightly immature. 

It makes sense though; I was only decorating my bedroom and now that I've moved into my own apartment and have a larger area to decorate, I'm leaning more into the sophisticated, expensive pieces that look more elevated and not so kitschy and childish. 

This year, Pottery Barn decor has caught my eye and I can't stop thinking about it. Every piece of decor they put out is so incredibly chic, it hurts my soul. It would fit seamlessly in with what I have in my apartment already, plus it feels incredibly cozy and warm. 

From pillows to outdoor Halloween decorations, everything feels like it stepped out of a Nancy Meyers movie. I haven't bought anything yet and I don't know if I will, but it's nice to window shop, isn't it? 

These are some of my favorite pieces from the Pottery Barn fall collection! 

 As I mentioned in a previous Olive & June Manicure Monday, their Fall 2022 collection spoke to me on an emotional level. I purchased a handful of colors and one of them was Tip Your Barista, a delicious, espresso brown shade. I was probably the most excited about this shade because it screams fall. 

It was the first color I used on my nails after the first day of fall. I was missing a chocolate shade in my collection and this definitely filled that void. 

 Fall is everything to me and more. I come alive in the fall and it makes me feel completely like myself. I've waxed poetic about the fall so many times over the years but this past week I really got into the spirit. 

I put my Halloween decorations out, watched Hocus Pocus too many times, lit my candles and just felt fall-y. I was struggling a bit at first, putting myself into the spirit but I think that's because I was in Charleston for the first few days of October and it confused me. Truthfully, I've felt confused/displaced for the past week or so, adjusting to the cooler temperatures and getting back into the swing of things but that's a different post for a different day. 

I figured that since I've been having a little trouble getting into the fall spirit, I'd put together a little fall mood board to keep me on track, put me in a good mood, and envision all the things I love about fall or want to do this season. 

PS: I did a HUGE thing over the weekend and it made me so happy. I've been wanting to put together something like this for a while and I finally did it, and I'm obsessed.

Life starts all over when it gets crisp in the fall. 

That quote from F. Scott Fitzgerald has been imprinted on my brain for years. It brings me so much joy and rings true in so many ways.

I don't know when I started to obsess over the fall season. Perhaps it was after I graduated college, a way to commemorate the start of a school year without being in a classroom. Maybe it was when I started to experience the change of seasons in Manhattan, how the air got crisp as I waited for my subway to work or how the leaves changed on my commute. Maybe it was when Pumpkin Spice Lattes started to become a trend, a mainstream novelty that sparked a thousand memes.

Maybe, deep down, I always loved the fall season. It had all my favorite things; back to school supplies, sweaters, candles, my birthday, Halloween and Thanksgiving. Fall always felt like coming home. It feels like a fresh start, fresher than January 1st. Perhaps it's the correlation of the start of school, ingrained in my brain from so many years of first days. 

Either way, fall makes me feel whole. It makes me feel most like myself and makes me the happiest. I look forward to September all year long and once the clock strikes midnight on December 31st, I am longing for September again because I know the spring and summer are near.

I am convinced that I have reverse seasonal depression because whenever spring comes around, I feel off. I do not thrive in the hot weather and seek solace indoors, where I have access to air conditioning. I muster through June and July, hoping for the arrival of August because I know my season is right within reach. 

Over Labor Day weekend I start to decorate my room for fall, having collected decorations from Target and Homegoods over the years. Once my leaves, pumpkins, and fall art are in place, things start to feel real and I get a renewed excitement deep within my soul.

Also over LDW weekend, instead of being at the beach, I go shopping for all my fall goodies; pumpkin spice coffee, creamer, bread and muffin mixes, new Bath and Body Works candles, and anything that calls out to me.

I put away my bathing suits and shorts, and bring out my fall sweaters and jeans, even though I might not be wearing them for another month or so. 

Fall breeds new beginnings, it makes me so happy and I love looking forward to all the milestones ahead-- being able to watch Hocus Pocus, going apple and pumpkin picking, lighting that first fall candle... there is so much to be excited about! 

Fall is also where all the good things happen to me; my birthday is at the tail end of the season, I joined my sorority in fall, fell in love for the first time during fall... I have the most fun during the fall. It just soothes my soul in so many ways.

Last year I felt robbed of being able to enjoy the fall. Covid was starting to peak again, we were coming off of a summer of protests and riots, the stress of the election loomed in the distance. I was also very depressed last fall, probably the most depressed I have ever felt in my entire life. I was in a horrible place that I never thought I'd get out of. Also, after a locked down spring, and a half & half summer, I started to feel the effects of my breakup that happened in March 2020. It was my first fall in two years without him and that hit me harder than I expected.

Therefore, I didn't feel like myself in the slightest bit. This year, though, I feel good. I just got a raise and promotion at work, have a great wellness and self-care routine in place, feel mentally well, and have so many fun things planned in the coming months. This will be a good season, I can feel it.

Everyone in my life knows that fall brings me immense joy. It's one of my little quirks but my goodness, it makes my life so much better.

I can't believe tomorrow is October 1st! September feels like it was just getting started and all of sudden, we're a month away from Halloween. It was another really difficult month but I feel so much better now than I did at the beginning of September. I hope that it only goes up from here... but with Covid still running around and the election almost a month away, it seems like we have a little more ways to go.

If you haven't been paying attention, Fall is my favorite season. I will say that phrase in at least five more posts so be prepared. There is something about it that makes me incredibly happy.

I don't know if it goes back to my childhood when I was so excited to go back to school or if it's the fact that my birthday is in November. Maybe it's because I love being chilly and the first smell and feel of a cool, Fall breeze are one of the most incredible feelings in the world. Perhaps it's because Fall is the start of the holiday season and it's always an exciting four months.

My love of Fall has only grown in recent years and maybe it's just because of my basicness. Either way, there are certain things I always feel like I need to have a really great Fall season. They are my Fall essentials if you will... and I wanted to share them with you today!

Aside from the typical Fall items such as pumpkin decor, pumpkin coffee and a Fall outing at an apple orchard or pumpkin patch, these are the things that I need to have the perfect season.

Halloween is my least favorite holiday in terms of celebrating it. I'm no longer a big drinker and can't be bothered to dress up and go to a crowded bar. It was great in college (even then I wasn't crazy about it) but now I would much rather hang out around the house on Halloween weekend, eat some treats and watch a scary movie.

However, this year I had a handful of plans that fell through at the last minute so I had already thought about what my costume would be. I'm not someone who likes to go all out and buy an uncomfortable smelly costume I'll only wear once. I would much rather use things around the house and create something unique that no one else will be in -- or at least, won't look exactly the same as me.

If you get invited to a last minute Halloween party, these are easy costumes that you can throw together in a pinch, with the items you already have in your closet.

Social Butterfly: This was my costume last year and I thought it was the cutest costume! To be a 'SOCIAL' Butterfly, I printed out the logo of all the social media platforms, glued them onto a black T-Shirt and then did my makeup like what I thought a butterfly would look like it. I thought it was quite clever, funny and very easy.

Spider: This doesn't sound like it would be easy but my makeup artist at work did this for an IGTV segment and I was FLOORED at how easy it was! She used only TWO products and did an incredible job. It came out so good and really anyone could do it if you have black eyeliner and some highlighter! Watch the segment here!

Betty Cooper: Want to dress up as Riverdale's resident blonde? Throw your hair up in a ponytail, grab a pink sweater and you're set! If you want to take it one step further, Hot Topic has great Riverdale costumes and accessories to make your costume even more realistic.

Kim Kardashian: KKW is an easy costume if you think about it. Be glam Kim K in a tight, spandex dress and heels or go Yeezy inspired and do grey leggings, a grey sports bra and some fake Yeezys. Have your phone in your hand all night, snapping selfies and rock a pink, nude lip like it's nobodies business. The possibilities to dress up as Queen Kim are endless!

Fall fashion is definitely my favorite all year! While I do love winter, there is just something so fresh and beautiful about fall colors and not having to bundle up.

I love how Fall fashion looks in photos and how it just seamlessly comes together, no matter what you're wearing. You could be head to toe athleisure or dressed to the nines and everything looks gorgeous.

My queen and Fall fashion inspiration is definitely Emily Gemma of The Sweetest Thing -- she does it RIGHT and I try to emulate her but she is untouchable.

I'm trying a few different things this season -- more sweaters, more jeans, and more stylish shoes. I want to feel my best and still be stylish. I figured I'd round up some of my favorite items to wear this season and give you some of my top picks within those categories!

Sweatshirts, whether they're plain and simple, or have a fun saying are still in style. I love lounging in them on the weekends to make myself feel slightly more pulled together (instead of laying around in pajamas all day) and they're great if you're having a girls night in.

Teddy Bear Coats

Teddy Bear Coats are having a MOMENT and I'm all about it. They've slowly been creeping up in style over the past two seasons but this year, they are making a statement. The great thing about teddy bear coats is that they are so cozy and so warm. When you look at them, you probably only see something casual but with the right accessories and the right outfit, you can definitely dress it up a little bit. I haven't gotten my hands on a coat yet but I'm planning on it!

Mother Nature finally delivered the Fall weather to New York this past weekend. I was freezing dressed in a sweater, sweatpants and socks and desperately wanted to put the heat on. I hope that this weather sticks around so I can truly enjoy the Fall season.

I make it very known that I am the queen of Pumpkin Spice everything and I feel like with every Fall season, my love for it only grows. I make the most of the three months where I can enjoy all things Pumpkin Spice and this year, it is no different.

Everyone is getting in on the pumpkin spice trend nowadays, from beauty products to accessories, no one is safe from the basicness of all things pumpkin.

I figured it was a good time to round up all my favorite pumpkin items... 

Pumpkin Spice Lattes: These are the OG of Pumpkin items and the first thing I treat myself to the day after Labor Day. I love the Starbucks one but no matter where I am, I always get a Pumpkin Spice Latte if it's available. I make them at home with the Caffe Latte Starbucks Keurig cups, or just treat myself to regular pumpkin coffee.

Pumpkin Baked Goods: Whether it's a scone, muffin, bread, cookie or cake, I eat all of the pumpkin things during the Fall season. I bake some, I buy some, and it's the one treat I really allow myself to splurge on.

Trader Joe's Pumpkin Spice O's: This is new to me this year and it was such a delight to find a pumpkin cereal that was tasty. I've tried so many other pumpkin cereals and am always disappointed but these Trader Joe's Os were delicious. They had a sweet, subtle cinnamon pumpkin flavor but nothing too overpowering.

Pumpkin Spice Belvita Biscuits: A few years ago I had a Belvita Biscuit for the first time and my life was changed forever. I became obsessed with this little babies and savored every bite. I've since stopped eating them because they are heavy in Weight Watchers points (8 points for 4 biscuits) but at the start of the season, I treated myself to the Pumpkin Spice ones. They have more of a cinnamon flavor but are so satisfying and delicious, it's all worth it.

Pepperidge Farm Pumpkin Spice Swirl Bread: Talk about the perfect Fall breakfast! Toast this bread with some butter (or even Pumpkin Butter) and your life is automatically 100x better. Taste it, and let me know what you think.

Burts Bees Pumpkin Spice Lip Balm: I just went to look for this in my makeup drawers and couldn't find it -- must mean I need a new one. This lip balm smells perfectly like Pumpkin Spice but the scent doesn't linger. Also, Burts Bees is a great company and has great lip products so it's a win-win.

Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Palette: I've only used this once but I'm including it in this post. Too Faced does so well with their themed and scented palettes so it's no surprise that they finally released a Pumpkin Spice one. It has the most gorgeous color scheme and screams Fall; from brown neutrals to plums and true pumpkin colors.  It also has that faint pumpkin scent which really puts me in the Fall spirit. You can only get this on HSN and it comes with a pumpkin scented and colored lipgloss. It's SUCH a good collection and good value.

This post was originally scheduled for yesterday but my days have been nuts! I thought I'd have more time to write Sunday and Monday but it just didn't happen.

Sunday afternoon/night I was in the city for dinner and a Billy Joel concert with my family (which was so fun) and then Monday I took off from work, but was out running around, getting my hair done, and just doing things other than sitting down to blog early in the AM.

Now, it's Monday afternoon and I'm finally at a place where I can focus on my writing. Meanwhile, I'm truly exhausted from the weekend and the concert. UGH.

The good news is it's finally October, my favorite month of the year. I am ready to really embrace the month and get myself on track.

That being said, I think it is a perfect time to break down all my favorite items related to Fall!



1. Fall Mugs: Etsy is my favorite place to find adorable Fall mugs and this year I scored the 'Hocus Pocus I Need Coffee to Focus' mug from SweetMintHandmade. She has the best mugs and I definitely need a few more. I also really want the Stars Hollow Mug from Chalk Full of Love because there is nothing more Fall than Stars Hollow.



2. Pumpkin Decor: I love all of my Fall decor, but this year I went BIG with pumpkins of all shapes and sizes. I found these adorable fabric pumpkins at Target and spread them all over my room. I also have some studded pumpkins from last year that look so gorgeous in any type of setting. You can do so much with fake (or real) pumpkins and really allow them to have a moment in your space.

3. Fall Beauty: There are few things I love more than a dark lipstick. I will be doing a full post on my current favorite Fall lippies but I feel like I need to mention them in this list. Kylie Cosmetics makes my favorite Fall lipsticks and she has been #1 for years now. There is something so chic about a dark, matte lip and it makes me feel so vampy and beautiful. Also, don't get me started on Fall nails! If you've been a reader for years, you know how much I appreciate a Fall manicure.




4. Clothes and Accessories: It's no secret I love accessories so when I combine that with my love of this season, you know it's going to get out of hand. Whether it's a new planner cover/dashboard *like pictured above* or my Pumpkin Spice Alex and Ani Bracelet, I'm in love with all things Fall themed. I ordered this Hocus Pocus shirt as well as a 'Leggings, Boots, Pumpkin Spice' shirt from the Pink Lilly Boutqiue.

5. Candles: Once again, something I talk about frequently is my love of candles. I love candles all year long but there is something beautifully special about a Fall scented candle. I've already burned through Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin and now Leaves is up on the menu, but there are so many other scents I want to try. If you are not familiar with me or my blog, hello, I'm Briana and I'm addicted to Fall.

Saturday was the first day of Fall and it truly is my favorite day of the year. I was so happy I could've cried. It was the perfect temperature, a light, cool breeze, and the sun was shining. I even saw a few leaves start to change color.

My room has been decorated for Fall since Labor Day but this weekend put me in the mood to change the feel of the entire house.

My mom and I conflict on decor every so often because I want our house to look like the holidays threw up on it but my mom is not so keen on that. That's why I always make sure my room is decorated to the nines. It makes me so happy and brings so much joy -- plus, my mom gets to keep her own decor throughout the rest of the house.

That's my compromise for everyone who still lives at home with their parents -- if you want the holiday/seasonal feel, decorate your own room instead of the entire house.

The beginning of Fall always has been craving the coziness of the season, which is the inspiration for this post.

Another long week has come to an end! Did anyone else feel like this week dragged on? I swear I woke up on Tuesday and thought it was Friday. I think it had to do with the fact that it was the first regular work week I've had since before Memorial Day Weekend.

Getting back into the Fall groove of things is sometimes hard, no matter how many Pumpkin Spice Lattes I have (it was 4... I had 4 PSL from Starbucks this week).

I'm writing this rather late on Friday night because I was too lazy (not even tired, just pure laziness) last night and this afternoon after I got home from work.

Other than the long, stressful week, not much else happened this week that I could think of. I am excited to have a fall weekend. Tomorrow I'm going to bake a few Weight Watchers approved fall treats for breakfast, do some fall decor shopping, and on Sunday, I'm headed to my first brunch of the season.

Brunch, to me, is always better in the fall!

I hope the weather cools off again next week because this week was just a little too hot -- I mean, we are in mid-September already (that went by fast!) and I'm ready to wear booties and sweaters.

Boy, what a week! I traveled down to QVC in Pennsylvania for work, came home Wednesday after being up from 7 AM on Monday till 1 AM on Tuesday. I was definitely hurting Thursday but it was a really great trip.

On Monday, when we got down to Pennsylvania, my coworkers and I sat in a parking lot and watched the solar eclipse -- or what we could see of it. I wasn't that impressed but it was really cool to be in on this natural phenomenon that took the entire country by storm. It was also really cool to see how the eclipse was said to effect us, even our beauty routines. 

The summer is winding down and I'm so excited for September 1st next week. I will be breaking out my fall decor and drinking Pumpkin Spice Lattes the day after Labor Day! It can't come soon enough.



I don't have much else to report because my brain is FRIED so we'll keep this short and sweet-- here's what I loved this week:

My other favorite month has come to a close. It was a really emotional one at that, one of the most emotional months I've had in a while but I've come out the other side and I'm ready for Christmas.

Tomorrow is my 24th birthday, and I'm very melancholy about it. I'm not excited, I'm not dreading it, it's just there. Maybe I'm feeling this way because it's one step closer to 25, the big milestone birthday. Maybe I'm dreading it because it's been a rough year, and I'm looking forward to starting anew. Maybe I'm so so about it because I didn't celebrate with my friends.

It's just a weird feeling, but I've had that feeling all month long.

It's been interesting, but that hasn't deterred me from rounding up my favorites of the month.

First off, I'll get this out of the way; my two ultimate favorites were Thanksgiving & Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. I dedicated an entire podcast episode to the revival of Gilmore Girls, so definitely take a listen.



There were plenty of other favorites this month:

1. Kate Spade Activity Tracker: After writing this post, I was desperate for my Kate Spade tracker. I was over my fitbit; it needs to be charged too much, and has all these features I don't use. I just wanted something cute & fun. I decided to repurchase my Kate Spade tracker, and got the black polka dots. Also, it was almost $30 cheaper, since it's been on the market for a while. I love this little thing so much. It's adorable, useful, and gives ms exactly what I'm looking for.

2. Kittenish Heart Sleeve Sweatshirt: I've been loving Jessie James Decker's clothing line "Kittenish" for the past few months now. She releases a new collection every few months, and for the "fall" collection, I fell in love with this Heart Sleeve Sweatshirt. It's very comfortable, and the elbow patches are soft and great quality. I get so many compliments whenever I wear it, and it's a must-have for me this winter season!

3. Interior Design: I live with my mother, and am single AF so I'm not NESTING but my goodness it feels like it. I've been obsessed with interior design and making my house nice for the holidays, and decorating. I've been reading all the house magazines, like Martha Stewart Living, Good Housekeeping, and Domino. I just have become a homemaker and the holiday season has definitely brought it out in me.

4. DryBar 3 Day Bender & Tress Press Styling Iron: My obsession with the Drybar has continued this month and it resulted in two big purchases. I was in the market for new hair tools because my mom, my sister, and I have ridiculous coarse, thick hair so we go through tools pretty quickly. My curling iron broke, and the straightener is going soon, so I opted to by these two that I've been lusting after for a while. Both of them are INTENSE; they get hot really quickly and I can do my hair within 10-15 minutes. It's insane and I love them. Two of the best purchases ever.

I've been feeling super festive lately, and getting really into all the holidays. From clothing to decorating my room, and transitioning my makeup look into fall & holiday, I've been having a blast.

My favorite way to reflect the holiday season is through my nail polish. It's so fun, easy to do, and shows your love of whatever holiday is around the corner.

I have a lot of orange, brown, and nudes so when November started, I knew what I needed to do. I took my new favorite trend, the ombre nail look, and put a Thanksgiving spin on it.




I used my OPI colors in Inside the IsabelleTway & Meet Me at the Piazza; a gorgeous nude & a dull orange.

It screams Thanksgiving to me, and I'm slowly starting to enjoy OPI polishes more & more.



I'm actually obsessed with these two colors alone, but putting them together makes them look even better.

Last week I tackled my favorite shoes, but this week it's all about the sweaters. I don't think I wear anything BUT sweaters in the fall & winter. I don't have any regular shirts besides sweaters and graphic sweatshirts (that's another post for another day). I love how they feel and how they look; sweaters can be dressed up or dressed down, worn with heels, flats, or riding boots.

They're so versatile and so comfortable, and that's what I want in my wardrobe.

I don't shop at a lot of different stores. I stick to what I like and what I know, but this year I ventured outside of brands but got most of them at Nordstrom, my favorite retailer.

I've worn all my sweaters at this point, at least once, and I definitely have my favorites. Therefore, I wanted to share them all with you!

These are my favorite sweaters as of late, and it's no surprise that they're all from J.Crew Factory! I am truly obsessed with the store, and thankful that they're always having sales & that I have a credit card. You can get anything and everything from J.Crew and it never disappoints.

Happy Halloween!

Usually I would post something Halloween related, but I figured an October favorites was just as good!

October is my favorite month, even if my birthday is in November. September is the Sunday to the fall season, but October encompasses everything good about fall.

It's just starting to get cool, you get to break out the riding boots & wear comfortable, chic sweaters. Hot coffee makes it's comeback for good, and the leaves are truly changing. You can just smell the change of weather in the air; I walk outside in the morning to go to work, and the air is crisp and it just smells and feels like fall & happiness.

I think it reminds me of college, because my campus was so beautiful in the fall (I mean, look at it!)
