Happy October! I'm so excited for this month and for the true fall-ness to begin!

This weekend was a good start because the weather in New York was cooperating with the fall frame of mind. Mid 60 degrees, a cool breeze, and the crisp scent of fall in the air-- it was magical!

Now onto the true reason for this post...

I don't think I've ever done a post like this before but I was inspired by my favorite season to actually write down what I want to do this fall.  I figured what better time to make a pact than the 2nd day of October, the best month of the year!

Did I need another series on the blog? Not really, but I wanted to switch things up. I've been really amping up my Instagram game lately and if you don't follow me, you should!

It's been a fun filled month of pumpkins, candles, and fall in general.

Happy Halloween!

Usually I would post something Halloween related, but I figured an October favorites was just as good!

October is my favorite month, even if my birthday is in November. September is the Sunday to the fall season, but October encompasses everything good about fall.

It's just starting to get cool, you get to break out the riding boots & wear comfortable, chic sweaters. Hot coffee makes it's comeback for good, and the leaves are truly changing. You can just smell the change of weather in the air; I walk outside in the morning to go to work, and the air is crisp and it just smells and feels like fall & happiness.

I think it reminds me of college, because my campus was so beautiful in the fall (I mean, look at it!)

It reminds me of homecoming, and walking to class, and day drinking, and lunch with my sorority sisters.

Another week come and gone.... and a fast one at that! This week flew by and I'm excited to finally get my October started. This weekend I'll be headed to brunch and some shopping, and then enjoy my long weekend since we're off on Monday!

Next weekend, I'm headed to New Jersey with my family for a fall festival; pumpkin picking, candles, beer, and lots of fall food. I cannot wait!

This week was super exciting, I launched my podcast called Basic Bri. I'm going to be talking about entertainment, news, books, and everything in between. If you enjoy reading what I have to say on Royally Pink, come on over to Basic Bri and LISTEN to me ;) Don't mind my thick Queens accent haha.

The week was EXTRA special because Luke's Diner debuted across the nation! I am a HUGE fan of Gilmore Girls and I promise, as November 25th gets closer, you'll be hearing more about my love for them. I was so excited to go to Luke's Diner, and so thankful that there was a coffee shop particpating right across the street from my building.

Before I get into my links, I wanted to show you this. I had a work event this week, and this was the view from the venue. Talk about GORGEOUS! Honestly, this city never fails to take my breath away.

After last month's confusion with if I should keep getting Birchbox, I was pleasantly surprised to be extremely excited and anxious about getting October's box. It could have something to do with the fact that I haven't been shopping too much and that I peeked (as always) at what was inside my box.

Oh it's a good one-- probably one of my favorite Birchboxes ever. Not to mention that it was a gorgeous pink box with a beautiful design that supported Breast Cancer Awareness!



All of the products I got in this box are ones that I've been meaning to try and so far, they're all awesome!



//Avene Thermal Spring Water: Spray mists are my addiction and obsession. I think they are a little gimicky but I can't help it! Every time I spray one on my face I feel like a new person. This Avene Thermal Spring Water is one of the better known mists and one that I have wanted to try for a while but never got a chance. I definitely notice a different in how this one feels compared to others like my holy grail Rosewater Spray from Mario Badescu; I wouldn't say its better because I love the Rosewater Spray, but this definitely feels just as good. I may buy a full size once this sample runs out.

//Too Cool for School Dinoplatz Highlighter: I will never ever say no to another highlighter. I love these little sample sizes of liquid illuminators and I was really happy to try one from a Korean beauty brand. I've heard only good things about this highlighter and I can't wait to try it out. This would be wonderful to mix into foundation for a luminous finish!

//Klorane Gentle Dry Shampoo: I've gotten this dry shampoo in an Ipsy box (I think) and I really liked it. It got the job done and didn't leave behind a bad residue. It's a little on the expensive side in my opinion, I would never spend $20 on a dry shampoo so it's nice to have the sample.

//Stila Huge Extreme Lash Mascara: All Birchbox subscribers got a mascara sample in their box this month as their sample choice and I chose this bad boy. This is a brand new mascara to Stila's line and I've never tried any of Stila's products so I wanted to jump on the band wagon. Oh boy is this my new favorite mascara. It's very similar to the Too Faced Better Than Sex mascara and gives the same effect. I only used it once but I know this will be used up quickly. It has a very large brush that leaves your lashes luscious, long, and voluminous. Your lashes will look dramatic yet very soft and fluttery. It's perfect!

//Dr Jart Ceramidin Cream: I'm always in need of new skincare and Dr. Jart is one of my favorite brands that I've discovered through Birchbox. This cream is supposed to calm irritated skin and deeply hydrate, which I'm always in need of in the winter months. I can't wait to use this, I'm sure it will not disappoint.

What did you think of your Birchbox this October?

Another long week, another new month, and more cold weather! I wore a scarf yesterday and was super thrilled about it. Today I'm planning to wear boots and a sweatshirt. Have I mentioned how much I love fall?!

This week was long and I'm exhausted. It physically hurt to get out of bed every morning; I was so comfortable under my blankets and pillows, and it was SO dark out. It's not even daylight savings time yet!

I'm super happy that it's October. October is always the best month-- it's the start of the holiday season, the beginning of fall, and the weather is always great. October is always the busiest month for me socially, as well. I have so many fun things planned in the upcoming weeks. I have a work event tomorrow, a few work trips in the next two weeks, and just so much going on! It's very hectic and confusing but in the best way possible.

On another note, NYC is currently gearing up for another hurricane and my goodness, I am hoping that it's not going to  be as bad as Sandy. It's definitely throwing off my groove and a little nerve-wracking but I'm hoping that it's ok.
