I can't believe tomorrow is October 1st! September feels like it was just getting started and all of sudden, we're a month away from Halloween. It was another really difficult month but I feel so much better now than I did at the beginning of September. I hope that it only goes up from here... but with Covid still running around and the election almost a month away, it seems like we have a little more ways to go.
I would be lying if I said that the election and the political climate wasn't a major cause of my anxiety. Almost every day I wake up, nervous about what the day is going to bring and what arguments I'm going to find myself in with those around me. It is very nervewracking and damaging to my mental health. I stay well informed but the constant bombardment of information on social media is toxic and I try to stay away from it as much as possible.
If I'm being completely honest, hearing the President talk makes my skin crawl so I stay away from him as much as possible. If that makes you stop reading my blog, then go right ahead. I just want the election cycle to be over, no matter who wins.
That being said, I'm excited for October and to further immerse myself into fall! This month, I felt like I didn't have too many "traditional" favorites but there were still some items I loved.

iPhone 11 Pro Max
I upgraded my iPhone this month and wow, I am simply obsessed! I had an iPhone 7 Plus so going to this very updated phone is a game-changer. I was a little nervous about not having a Home button but after a few hours, you don't even notice it anymore. The camera is truly insane and extremely high quality; it makes everything crisp and clear. I got the Max version because I loved the bigger size of the "plus" phone so I knew I couldn't go back to a smaller phone. iOS 14 was released a week or so after I received my new phone so having that new interface is an added bonus.
Summer Fridays Lip Butter
I'm pretty sure I mentioned this previously and I will be mentioning it again in an upcoming post but I've been dying for this lip balm from Summer Fridays. As soon as the weather changed, my lips got super chapped and this has been a lifesaver. It's very thick and emollient but not greasy... therefore I can comfortably apply and wear this during the day and not feel like I have something too overwhelming on my lips.
