I say it every year but I hate/despise New Year's Eve. I think it's overrated and an excuse to get drunk and I just can't be bothered with it.

This year I actually had plans with my friends but then woke up this morning with the worst cold ever so I'm staying local with a few friends.

Aside from the actual party theme of New Years, I enjoy the idea of a fresh start. Ever since I turned 25 last month I have been feeling like I'm on the verge of change... big change so I'm nervous and excited to see what the year holds.

I've already made a few big changes this year (i.e Weight Watchers) but I really hope 2018 brings more and better change.

That being said, I have been really into the idea of trying to make the year good before it even starts... I'm talking about New Year's Eve superstitions.

I've always been a sort of superstitious person; never putting your shoes on the table, salt over the shoulder... just the usual ones. There are a bunch of old wives tales about what you should and shouldn't do on New Year's Eve & Day and this year, I'm going to do them all.

I mean, what's the harm? I always have a shitty year without doing them so maybe if I actually do them, it'll somehow work? I've been very into astrology, moonscopes, and all things spiritual and healing for the second half of the year so this is right up my alley.

I did a little research and these are just a few simple superstitions to take today.

1. Change your sheets: I already did this and I try to do it every year but starting the year with clean sheets is supposed to bring good luck... it's also a little more sanitary! (LOL)

2. Open the doors and windows at midnight: This is supposed to let out all the evil spirits and helps you ring the in the new year with good vibes.

3. Make a lot of noise: Ever wonder why we set off fireworks, bang pots & pans, and have noisemakers? This is also to ward off evil spirits to ensure a good year!

4. Write your wishes down & burn them: This isn't something that is specific to New Years, it's always been an old wives tale to burn your deepest desires to let them out into the universe. It's just an extra bonus to do it on NYE.

5. Don't throw anything away: On New Year's Day, nothing should leave the house (that isn't going to come back in) and don't throw anything away. This means don't shake out a rug, don't donate clothes, don't even take the trash out. The year shouldn't start with subtracting from the home before you add to it.

Do you believe in superstitions? Will you be doing any of these good luck charms?

Happy 2018 everyone!

Beauty and books are the two things I religiously review here so it was easy to put them in their own category for 'best of 2017'.

This post is all about my ultimate favorites of the year... the items I couldn't live without and just loved to the moon and back.

These are the items that made 2017 a standout year, the items that I used the most, the items I talked about the most and the ones I just couldn't get enough of!

1. Kate Spade Olive Drive Bridgette: When I saw this item in late summer, I knew it was a bag that had to be mine. I can say that this was my favorite purchase of the year, my favorite handbag of the year for sure. I bought it off Ebay because $400 was just a little too much for me and the leather on the 'older' version is pebbled but I love it all the same. It's a bag that can be an everyday bag or a work bag; it's chic, roomy, and very comfortable. It's the ultimate bag for any gal!

2. Evil Queen Candles: These candles (and essential oils) took over my life in 2017. I loved them at the end of 2016 but this was the year I had them for every season. These are the candles that I burned in the Spring & Summer and really made me a 'candle' person all year round. I love that they're a small company, that they're handmade candles, and how sassy the brand is. Also, Ida Sofia (the owner) is the sweetest person ever. She really cares about her customers and even sent me my favorite essential oil (free of charge) after my bag got stolen.

3. Louis Vuitton Cosmetics Pouch: This was the year of the pre-loved items and my favorite was by far my Louis Vuitton Cosmetics Pouch in the multi-color noir. The exact color is no longer available from LV but you can find it on the pre-loved market. However, I really loved this pouch. It's high quality (obvi) and held everything I could ever need. It made me so happy to use it and have it displayed in my room, it was just such a good purchase!

4. Weight Watchers: This isn't a tangible object but this was the highlight of the 2nd half of the year for me. I've lost 23 pounds (the holidays are kicking my butt) on Weight Watchers and I truly never thought that was possible. It has changed my life and really made me happier than I ever have been. I am so proud of myself that 2017 was the year I finally decided to take control of my body and Weight Watchers helped me do that.

What were your favorite products of 2017?

When thinking about what categories I wanted to include for Best of 2017, beauty was a no-brainer... I mean, I do classify myself as a beauty blogger most of the time.

This was the year that I back peddled on a lot of beauty purchases and really didn't spend as much as I usually do. I was grateful for that because I was spending way too much on makeup... when I work for a makeup company.

My collection is starting to overwhelm me and I need to declutter some of my items but that I'll save for 2018. For now, I'm ready to talk about my favorite beauty items of 2017. I say beauty and not makeup because some of them are skincare and tools.

Some of these items I've mentioned this year and some I have not so let's get into it.

1. Tarte Shape Tape Concealer: I think this was my favorite item of the year... I think it was everyone's favorite item of the year. It's such a creamy, full coverage concealer that just looks so good. I've gone through three tubes of this concealer and it is truly a miracle worker. If you haven't tried it, I highly recommend it.

2. Kylie Cosmetics Twenty Lip Kit: I don't know if I've ever loved a lipstick more than I love the Kylie Twenty Lip Kit (I know it's sold out but it's still my favorite and who knows if she'll restock!) . I already loved Kylie lipsticks and my love took a backseat this year but this lipstick saved the day. I have barely worn another liquid lipstick for months. It's the perfect mauve/plum shade without being overpowering. The formula is the same as other Kylie's but it's the color that really is queen.

3. Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette: When I saw this palette on Instagram, I knew that it was going to be a major hit. I knew I needed it and I immediately bought it the moment it was available. I've only ever had the Naked3 palette and I loved it to death so I knew I'd love this one too. It was probably my favorite palette of the year with all the warm and toasty colors. It is stunning and the formula is bomb dot com!

4. Laura Geller Quench-n-Tint: This was released in April of this year and it kind of took Laura Geller by storm. I mean, I know a lot of our customers like it because I run the social accounts and hear it constantly. It is such an amazing hydrating, tinted moisturizer that has the highest concentration of water of any foundation on the market. It blends out beautifully and is perfect for no makeup days. I wore this a lot over the summer and it layers with other foundations perfectly, if you want to use it as a primer or layer a powder foundation on top. Please try it, you won't regret it!

5. Laura Geller LashBOSS Mascara: Another Laura Geller product that was a favorite and one that I've gone through many tubes of (probably 4-5 to be exact). LashBOSS mascara is a triple benefit mascara that has a dual-sided wand and really makes your lashes pop. I don't think I'll ever buy or use another mascara-- I've tried to go back to other favorites or even try new ones and nothing compares.

6. Emjoi Pedi: I didn't know how much I needed this product until it arrived on my doorstep. It's a little gross but it has changed my feet and has really made all the difference. I used it a lot in the summer and need to get back on it to get rid of the dead, dry skin in the wintertime. If you're in the market for a callus/dry skin remover for feet, buy this one.

7. Caudalie Gentle Cleansing Milk: I just finished this after having it for months on end and I miss it dearly. It's already in my Sephora cart and I'm ready to order another. It's the perfect everyday cleanser while also acts as a great makeup remover. It's gentle enough to use on sensitive skin but also works really well at cleaning and removing everything on your face. It's not as pricey as you'd think, just under $30 and it lasts for a while. I haven't loved a face wash like this in a very long time.

8. PUR Skin Perfecting Foundation Brush: I don't apply my foundation with a brush but when/if I do, it's this brush. It's similar to the Artis brushes without that ridiculous price tag and works just as beautifully. I use this mostly with stick foundations and I've never loved a brush the way I love this one. Try it, you won't regret it.

What did you love this year? Give me suggestions in the comments for some new favorites in 2018!

Last year was the year of audiobooks and that continues this year. I listened to more books than I read and I'm ok with that because it allows me to 'read' more than ever before. I can't read in a moving vehicle so this allows me to occupy my time and read as much as possible.

I read and listened to a lot of thriller/suspense/mystery novels this year because that is for sure my favorite genre of the moment but I definitely had my favorites.

When I looked back at my Goodreads account, I knew what books were my stand out favorites -- the books that I raved about in my Book Review Wednesdays and ones that I told my friends about.

I narrowed the books of the year down to the five that I couldn't get enough of and would read over and over again if I re-read books (besides Harry Potter and Twilight, I just can't!) Three of the five books were thrillers while one was fiction and one self-help so let's get into it.

1. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo: I made my mom read this book and when I get her to read and finish a book, you know it's good. I received it in a POPSUGAR box and immediately fell in love with the plot. I didn't read many fiction books this year but this was one that would've stood out anyway. It had love, family drama, mystery, and Hollywood glamour -- it was incredible. Read my full review here.

2. The Roanoke Girls: If Pretty Girls was my effed up book of last year, The Roanoke Girls was the effed up book of 2017. It was very twisted, graphic, and a little gross but it was weirdly satisfying once you knew what you thought was going on in the book. It was filled with family drama and a few love stories and it was sickeningly good. Read my full review here.

3. The Good Daughter: Karin Slaughter is an incredible author and quickly is becoming a favorite. Within the first few minutes of listening to The Good Daughter that it was going to be a wild book. It was a novel that had a few different mysteries intertwined, a lot of family drama, and some good old fashion romance drama. It was everything you could want in a book and more. My full review is here.

4. The Memory Watcher: This was an unexpected hit in my eyes and it was really the ending that put me over the edge. It was completely unexpected and tied together the book perfectly. It was a light-hearted book while also being twisted -- it was really the best of both worlds and I highly recommend it. My full review is here.

5. When God Winks At You: This is a book everyone should read, especially as we head into the new year with new beginnings. It's a self-help type of book but also very inspirational and easy to read. It helps you understand why things happen and that it's always to allow something else to happen. It's really awe-inspiring and I highly recommend it! My review is here.

What were your favorite books of 2017? I need to beef up my reading list for 2018!

I hope you had a wonderful holiday with your loved ones -- I sure did! It was a wild few days and I am for sure exhausted. I napped the past few days for hours at a time and I think I may be getting sick... this isn't a surprise because I did way too much and I always get sick this time of year. It doesn't help that there is a huge cold front in New York this week.

We had Christmas Eve at my house and I spent Saturday and Sunday getting ready for it. I baked up a storm and I'm regretting not taking enough photos of the house and my cooking. I baked a cake, three types of cookies, and chocolate covered Oreos -- it was days filled with sweets and I loved it!

I'm off all week and I can't wait to relax, plan for 2018 and get some stuff done. Tomorrow starts my 'week' of posts for the 'Best of 2017' series so stay tuned for that tomorrow!

For now, I filmed a video of what I got for Christmas this year so make sure you watch that ;)

I'll see you all tomorrow for regular blog posts!

This is it! We're two days before Christmas (I'm Italian so our real Christmas celebration is on Christmas Eve) and I cannot wait. I'm off from work and in the true spirit of the season. I started baking last night, I have a Christmas party with my friends tonight, I still have gifts to wrap and tomorrow is a marathon of cooking and baking.

I can't wait to paint my nails red, throw on red lipstick and be festive AF!

This week was a long one... just waiting for Thursday to be over so I can be off for a week and a half. I have some plans but mostly I want to just relax and enjoy my days... and also hit the gym every day (we'll see about that).

I have another Weight Watchers post coming up since they changed the program and boy do I have some thoughts! But let's worry about that after the holidays, shall we?

Next week is all about the best of 2017 and I have some exciting posts planned. As for my December Favorites, I may film a video for that instead of a post since my calendar is booked next week.

For now, I will stop rambling and share my links of the week!

So I do this post every year and I figured it was time to take a little break from all the blogmas stuff, even though I really am enjoying that.

I try to do this post every season because as much as I love the products I recommend, I love to change things up. I get bored very easily so once I finish something, I'm onto something new. Hence why I'm always sharing new things.

So far this season my skin hasn't been acting up too much...yet. I might owe that to the honey serum I talked about in my November favorites because it really has completely changed my skin. However, my skin is still dry and still has it's moments so I wanted to walk you through my current products and what has been really working for me the past few months.

I've been obsessed with the Hey Honey Serum and I need the full size like yesterday. I talked about this in my November favorite as mentioned above so I won't go into too much detail but it has really changed my skin for the better.

I have a few different oils I use in rotation of each other; the Laura Mercier Rose Oil, the Drunk Elephant Marula Oil, and Josie Maran Argan Oil -- they are all pretty similar and really penetrate the skin for deep hydration and feel incredible on the skin before bed.

Something I recently added to my routine was a Jade Roller. I can't tell if it actually does anything but I really enjoy it. It's like a mini facial massage and perhaps it does get the product you put on your face, deeper into the skin. I just run the roller all over my face in the morning and night (after I apply my skincare) and it's very cooling to the skin. I recommend picking one up from Amazon, it's worth the $8.

I finally got a full size of the Benefit Total Moisture Cream and I forgot how much I loved it. It's super thick and heavy but absorbs right into the skin so your face isn't greasy. It feels so cooling on the face and is just amazing. It's hands down one of the best moisturizers I've ever tried.

I love a good mask, especially an eye mask (I'll do a full post soon on all my mask favorites) and one that I (along with my mom) have really been enjoying are the VII Code Oxygen Eye Masks. They aren't slimy or greasy on the face and I notice a depuffing aspect for sure.

The eye cream that I currently have is the Charlotte Tilbury Magic Eye Rescue but honestly, I have been forgetting to use it. I may have to try a different eye cream soon because I'm not that crazy about this one.

Anyways.... that's it! Those are my favorite skincare products of the moment!

What are yours? Give me suggestions ;)

I was never the hat, glove, scarf kind of girl growing up. I didn't like them and felt they were too bothersome. Now that I'm older and realize the importance of being warm while commuting to and from work, I cannot get enough of these items.

When I realized that they were extra accessories that I could make fancy and chic, I was even more inclined to own and make use of them.

Clearly, my favorite cold weather accessories come from my girl Kate Spade but J.Crew Factory & Aerie have some adorable items too.

I've been loving a headband from J.Crew --it's not as warm as a hat but I feel like a true fashionista whenever I have it on. I feel like it can dress up any outfit and make it look like you're trying just a bit more. It's not available anymore but you can find a similar one here.

My mom bought this 'Hello Gorgeous' Kate Spade hat for my birthday and I've been loving it. The pom pom detail is very trendy and I love the hot pink color since I don't wear that much color as it is.

Below are a few other of my favorite picks for the cold weather -- I especially love a good tech glove (I got a pair of Kate Spade ones during their surprise sale) and I've had this pair of UGG ear muffs for close to 10 years and they're still holding up beautifully.

Whenever the cold weather hits, I immediately reach for all my dark lipsticks. There is just something about the cold weather, the holiday season, and the chill in the air that makes me want to wear a vampy lip -- even more so than the fall.

Just give me all the plums, purples, reds, berries!

I think I speak for most people when I say that the holiday season especially brings out these feelings and when you're out and about at holiday parties and gatherings, you want to have your best lip on.

I know this kind of goes against a lot of beliefs but I love matte liquid lipsticks more in the winter than any other season. I say it goes against a lot because your lips are usually very dry and chapped in the winter so the last thing you want to do is put a drying, matte formula on your lips.

However, I think matte lips are so chic, sophisticated and classic winter. I definitely get the most use out of my liquid lipsticks in this chilly season.

I won't ramble too much longer but I wanted to break down my favorite vampy lip colors and formulas that will work for just about anyone this holiday season.

I've included (in this widget) a lot of Laura Geller lipsticks; from our Love Me Mattes which has a great shade called Coffee Craving to the Fifty Kisses Liquid Lipsticks in Makeout Merlot and our Iconic Baked in Broadway Plum (one of my oldest favorites).

I also have been really enjoying the Urban Decay Vice Lipstick in Rock Steady; it's a gorgeous red/berry shade that really screams holiday to me.

Below, you'll find a few other lipsticks that may not be available right now so I've included some dupes.

Bite Beauty High Pigment Pencil in Pomegranate (similar)
Marc Jacobs Le Marc in Bad Behavior (similar)

I also LOVE the Winky Lux x Betches 'Crazy Pill' lipstick -- it's a very dark plum, that almost looks black and it's stunning.

I have to say one thing: the Kylie Cosmetics 'Twenty' lip kit is probably my favorite lip color of all time. It's deep enough that it feels 'fancy' but light enough that it's casual for every day. The formula is one of the best Kylie's I've had in a while and it's just perfection. I have to stop myself from wearing it every single day.

What are your favorite vampy lip colors for the holiday season?

It's been a while since I've done a Manicure Monday but I got a few new polishes over the past few weeks and I wanted to share one of them.

You'd think that the week before Christmas I'd be rocking red nails and I may change it up this week, but last week it was all about OPI's Iceland Collection. I love how trendy Iceland has become over the past year... it's somewhere I really, really want to go and I never thought that I would.

The shade I've been obsessed with is Less is Norse, which is a dark icy blue. It's not navy but somewhere in that family. It screams winter to me and it has made me feel super cozy and chic, which is how I like my nail polishes.

The formula is really good and I always forget that OPI has some great formulas; I'm just overwhelmed by all the colors so I always opt for the limited edition polishes.

This formula was smooth, and not messy; it lasted a while too. I'd still have it on if I didn't pick at some of the little chips.

The entire Iceland Collection is really gorgeous and it was a tough decision to only buy Less is Norse but the taupe colors are also really pretty-- I may have to go back to Ulta and get them!

What's on your nails this Monday?

Boy, what a week! A lot happened and I'm happy to say hello to Friday, the weekend, and almost 1 week until Christmas! I so need a vacation so I can't wait to lay up on my couch for almost two weeks.

Even though the week was hard, I think the blog content was very festive & fun. I really enjoyed writing it so it was nice to see it well received. I wrote all of the posts Saturday night while I watched Christmas movies, sat by the Christmas tree, and as it snowed outside. It felt really good to have things scheduled and not have to worry about it during the week...

Which is why there was no post yesterday. With the crazy, emotionally insane week, I just didn't have the head to sit down and finish a post... but that is usually what happens when I don't have a post go up.

One of the reasons I was nuts this week was because it was my dad's birthday on Sunday, and I really just miss him. Grief is a funny thing and it sneaks up on you... I've written about it once but I feel like it deserves another post, an update on my grief. That's probably the most blogger thing I've ever written but writing helps me in every aspect of life.

This weekend will be a busy one; I have a family reunion of sorts tonight in Manhattan, and then I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning and will head back into the city to go to the Louis Vuitton exhibit which will be so much fun.

I also still need to finish Christmas shopping because it really is sneaking up on me... there is just so much to do and so little time, and so little motivation.

It snowed yesterday too!

Anyways, here are my links for the week:

This can be the brunch lover or the Champagne lover because I am both and as far as I'm concerned, brunch & champs go hand in hand.

My drink of choice is now a mimosa and I can always go for a glass of Champagne whether it's morning, noon, or night.

I think the reason I love brunch so much is that I like day drinking, food, my friends, and being able to come home early. I hate going out at night to a bar... who decided that it was a good idea to go out at 10 PM and come home at 2 or 3? I'd much rather kill a day and come home at 5 or 6 PM. At least you have the rest of the night to relax or do something, that is if you're not too drunk.

Brunch has really become a phenomenon in recent years and there is so much fun, brunch themed items. None of these are really big ticket items but are fun little gifts to get your friends or put in someone's stocking.

It's no secret that I love the winter and I love winter clothes. I've been blissfully happy that it's been so cold and I can wear my heavy winter coats. As I write this, it's snowing outside and I can't wait to wear a hat and gloves tomorrow.

The thing I love most about winter clothes is all the fun, festive clothing that comes out during the holidays. I don't mean Santa costumes or hats, but I mean the fun sweaters, socks, and other clothing items that come out to show off your love for this holiday.

As I write this, I'm wearing a Noel sweatshirt that I got last year from ILY Couture and it's so comfortable and I just feel very festive wearing it.

The trend of graphic tees has trickled over into the holiday season so there is plenty to choose from.

*Clearly Target has a great selection of holiday stuff

I swore I wasn't going to do a gift guide this year but then I was inspired by my own imagination and decided I'd do a few, based on a few different personalities that I think are fun.

Now, these could be gifts for you, or for anyone else but they're definitely gifts for someone who loves to plan; gifts for the type A individual in your life, for those who are always paying strict attention to detail and who always have their ducks in a row *or at least like to*

I am that person; I have 4 different planners and am almost overwhelmed by the number of notebooks I have but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I think planners are the easiest people to shop before because they appreciate the little things that might not seem like gifts to others.  You can go to almost any store and find something whimsical and practical for the planner in your life.

Another week is over, the first full week of December and we're one day closer to Christmas. Since I hit my twenties, I feel like Christmas has never felt like Christmas but I make the most out of it every year. I thought this year would feel different because I was REALLY looking forward to it, but I am feeling the same.

It just doesn't feel like Christmas. I don't feel like I'm in the Christmas spirit -- maybe because it's a little warmer than usual. I'm doing my best, watching Freeform 25 Days of Christmas & sitting by the Christmas tree, but I feel like I really need to focus on being in the Christmas mood.

Does anyone else feel like that?

The Newsette has a new website & it's so cool!
Sign up here

Also, has anyone else been addicted to playing HQ? I'm in the middle of a game right now and I'm so competitive with myself. I've only gotten up to question 6 on all my games and I get so frustrated -- I just want to win!

Last weekend I went out for my 25th birthday and my goodness, was it a lot of fun. I also got very, very sick so you know it was a good time.

This week, Mercury went into retrograde and boy did I feel it. I've been getting more into astrology lately and I really like it, it's very calming and comforting.

Ok, I will stop rambling... here are my links for the week!

With the entire blogosphere in the blogmas/vlogmas spirit, I figured I'd try to join in as much as I can. Most of my content this month will be Christmas & winter related so I figured I could name it blogmas and just do as much as possible.

I named this day 2 because I went and changed my Hot Drink Station post (which I am obsessed with) to day 1... it seemed appropriate.

For today, I want to talk about one of my favorite topics: candles.

I love candles so much it's actually kind of embarrassing. With the introduction to Evil Queen, I've been burning candles all year round and while fall candles are pretty much my favorite, I'm always reminded that Christmas and winter scents are king.

This year, I have a nice little collection to burn through, mostly Evil Queen & Bath and Body Works. There is just something about the house smelling like winter that makes the holiday season much more special. I mean, who doesn't love drinking hot chocolate, watching Christmas movies by the Christmas tree with a holiday candle burning? It's my IDEAL NIGHT.

I try to buy the same scents every year because I like what I like and I stick with it. I try to branch out but I'm much more picky with my holiday scents than my fall ones. Sometimes there is just a bad holiday scent and I can't stomach it.

For this year, these are my favorites:

Bath & Body Works Winter Candy Apple: I've already burned through an entire candle and have another one on it's way. I also bought two lotions & a soap in this scent because it's so good. It's a heavy winter scent but still feels very light. It's not overpowering but has a really nice smell. It's a must try in my opinion and probably my #1 favorite.

Bath & Body Works Mahogany Teakwood: This smells like the inside of an Abercrombie store or the really hot boy you loved in 8th grade.  It is my go-to winter scent year after year and I never tire of it. It is so good it's almost impossible to believe how good it smells.

Bath & Body Works Twisted Peppermint: I have this burning right now and it's more faint than I remember but it's still so good. Just a touch of peppermint fills the air and you feel like you're inside a candy cane.

Bath & Body Works Marshmallow Fireside: This is a candle that everyone in the blog and Youtube world go nuts for and rightfully so. It is warm, woodsy but also a little sweet. I can't wait to start burning it!

From Evil Queen, she changes things up every year. I forget what I had last year but this year I bought Shimmy Down My Chimney & Ice Cold -- both are heavenly, like all of her candles!

What are your favorite winter/holiday candles? Suggestions below please! ;)

I've noticed one thing this winter/holiday season and that is that teddy bear, fuzzy coats are having a huge moment. I for one, am all for this trend because I think these coats look very chic and fashionable but not over the top.

Anyone can pull off one of these coats and to me, they dress up any outfit. You can wear a fuzzy, cozy coat with sweats and sneakers but it'll look like street style.

Credit

These coats also feel super fancy and can enhance a very dressy outfit.

I have a white fuzzy/furry coat that I got at J.Crew Factory last year (it's no longer available) and I get so many compliments on it! It makes me feel so put together and is just the perfect touch to any outfit.

I wore my coat to my birthday brunch over the weekend!
Here's a saved Instagram story!

I love these coats so much and I want to try to add at least one more (maybe a leopard one?) to my collection before the season ends!

Below are a few that I rounded up, mostly under $200!

PS: The leopard one from Target is to DIE FOR!

What are your thoughts on these fuzzy coat trends?

Today starts some fun holiday content and I've been wanting to post this for so long! These are always some of my favorite posts from bloggers -- fun, festive, and entertaining.

Around the holidays, my friends & I  always get together for fun little parties, whether they're lowkey Friday nights or a more of a fun party-like atmosphere.

When I do have my friends over for these types of get-togethers, I like my house to be as festive as possible. There is just something so wonderful about the house being decorated for all the holidays (especially Christmas) and makes everything cozier and just better.

Basically, whenever we have these gatherings we create little stations to make entertaining a little easier; we usually have a drink station, a food station, and then a dessert station. That way, everyone can get a little bit of everything and everything is organized -- you know how much I love being organized!

For Christmas, I especially love the idea of a hot drink station, which is great if you're doing a more low-key night with some sweet things and not real food.

You can decorate a hot drink station in so many ways and really customize it to what your guests like and what kind of vibe you're going for. I love getting inspiration from so many places for interior design, including Pinterest & the awesome website Havenly , where you can hire an interior designer (if you're in the market for something bigger than a holiday part!)

For my hot drink station, I chose a lot of fun, festive hot chocolate flavors, and toppers -- add some coffee and tea and you've covered all the bases! You can even put out some Baileys for a little alcohol fun if you're into that!

I got almost everything at Target and I'll link it down below! I had so much fun with this little shoot -- it was really allowing me to flex my blogger muscle and do something I don't normally do!
