Showing posts with label weekly roundup

Happy Saturday! I'm tardy again with my blog post, and just tardy for everything in my life. It was another hellish week that nearly broke me but the sun is shining, it's freezing out and I have an Oura ring sleep score of 80.

What I'm starting to realize is I need a better work-life balance; I need a better organization system, and I need to learn to handle stress better. I didn't think those were issues I had but it seems to be affecting me more and more, so I'll need to figure that out.

I also need to figure out how to make time for the things that bring me joy, or truly figure out what does bring me joy. I've slacked so much with the blog over the past year, as well as content creation as a whole -- what does that say about me? Creating has been the one constant in my life for over a decade, I don't want to give it up but maybe I need to figure out how it fits back into my life...or just stop being lazy because I think that's what it ultimately comes down too.

My screen time has gotten really bad so if I could just put the phone down, maybe I could pick up my computer and write. I'm continually hitting my 'rock bottom' in all areas of life but can never pull myself up high enough to get it together. What will be my breaking point?

That concludes my existential crisis for the week, let's get into the roundup!

Friday, hello there! I've officially completed my first week of being 31 years old and it feels good! I'm not freaking out about it and it feels like I've just come into my own even more than when I turned 30 years old.

While it was a good week, I'm exhausted. I was in Boston last weekend which was so fun; we saw a lot of great things, ate delicious food, and I throughly enjoyed being in a fancy hotel. We stayed at the Encore, which is only a few years old and it was gorgeous. It had a casino and so much night life; the room was insane and it was really nice to have time to myself as well as spend time with my family.

I jumped right back into work this week, celebrated my mom's birthday on Monday, had to take her to the dentist on Tuesday, and then back to working in office for the rest of the week. It was tiring, fulfilling, and just off routine so I definitely need to get back into the groove... I don't think that will be happening since I'm going to be very busy with work next week and then it's Christmas, so it's just coasting until early January.

I'm trying to soak up every minute of downtime I have so this weekend will be low key; wrapping gifts, baking, filming content, and being in the Christmas spirit.

Let's get into the round up!

Happy Friday! Happy heatwave in NYC! This week was brutal in terms of temperature; I slept horribly, didn't go outside much, and just felt kind of hopeless in terms of weather. I do not do well in the heat and quite frankly I'm over it. I'm ready for sweaters and boots and coziness.

Usually once Labor Day passes I'm fully in fall mode but this year, because a heat wave is coming right after the holiday, I can't seem to get in my groove. I need to decorate my apartment for fall and find my mojo. I was going to decorate this past weekend but life had other plans; I did a lot of food shopping, cleaning, meal prepping, saw my family, spent a day by the pool, and then put together my new bar cart. It was very productive and very tiring, which is why I didn't blog at all this week.

I've been really in a content creation funk, which I think I talked about a few weeks ago. It's something I love so much and really feels natural to me but it almost feels like I'll never be as good as I want. I'm not feeling sorry for myself, just a little discouraged. I can't seem to get in a good groove in my new apartment and things just feel really hard lately.

I'm hoping I'll figure it out soon, maybe I just need to find a routine that allows me to be more consistent and rigid with my routine.

This weekend is going to be low key around the house and then celebrating a friend's baby shower. I hope you all have a lovely weekend, stay cool & dry because a hurricane is brewing on the east coast. Let's get into the roundup!

This was a very long week and I'm not sure why. I went into the city twice, attended a Meta Beauty Summit and just felt like it was an odd break in my routine. I need to get better about going with the flow.

I also feel like October is flying by. We're almost midway through the month and I have a busy few weeks; I go to Disney in less than two weeks and I can hardly believe it's real. I'm so excited but I keep forgetting - it feels like just yesterday was July and I was planning this trip. Time really does fly as you get older and I hate it.

This weekend will be quiet and I'm hoping to rest, relax, and get some things done before a busy two weeks. I need to catch up on my life - does anyone else feel that way? Like some weeks you just feel like you're running on autopilot, then you blink and you have nothing to show for it. It's a horrible feeling and it's been like that for a few months - I haven't adjusted and I need to work on it.

Let's get into the roundup.

Happy Friday! This week went both fast and slow at the same time, and I can't believe that we're nearing the end of August. I have so many fun things planned for the fall and I can't wait. I've been looking at all the fall clothes and willing the cool weather to stick around New York.

I have an easy weekend planned, just some family things and I'm excited to just chill. I had such a busy summer it almost doesn't feel real so I will take every bit of peace I can get.

I don't have much else to say so let's dive right into the post.

I don't know where this week went. I was in rough shape at the start of the week but I'm coming out of it now and hoping that I can try to be present and calm for the next two weeks. I'm going to Nashville next week and traveling always makes me a little anxious, just being pulled out of my routine isn't good for my mental health.

I also have to go into the office next week (just for one day) and it's the first time I'll be working outside my house in two years and it's stressing me out. I just have a lot of my mind and want to get through the next few days with calm and ease.

Right now, I'm relaxing, watching Jersey Shore, and wanting to fall asleep... just your typical Thursday night!

Let's get into the wrap-up.

Happy Friday! I was really sick this week (the Covid test was negative thank goodness) but it knocked me out so badly. I worked from bed on Tuesday & Wednesday because I could not get dressed and sit at my desk. Then, Thursday I thought I was better but an hour into work and I had to call out sick. Today, I had already taken the day off so I have a solid four-day weekend ahead of me.

Yesterday I spent the entire day on the couch and didn't open my personal computer nor did I even check my work email. I can feel myself burning out from life and the rest I got yesterday was exceptional.

I watched TV, read books, and just let my mind relax. I'm planning on doing the same things this weekend because I'm still not feeling 100% and I feel like I still need some peace.

There's not much else going on really...summer is winding down and once September hits it'll be busy again with bachelorette parties, bridal showers, and weddings. It'll be a great fall and I can't wait!

Let's get into the roundup!

Pink Positivity of the Week

In the past 17 months of working from home, I have yet to work from my bed. I am not productive in bed and I feel exceptionally lazy when I'm in pajamas all day. However, I felt so horrible this week and made the decision to work from bed, and oh wow it was a gamechanger. I stayed in my pajamas all day, wrapped in sheets, and watched television, all while getting my work done. While I was still working, being in my bed and in pajamas tricked my mind into resting as well. I have to give myself permission more often to relax while I work.

I can't believe we're at week 50 of the year. I can't believe 2020 is almost over. What was supposed to be the best year for so many turned into the worst for the world? I don't know if I have fully comprehended that fact yet... it just seems so insane. I don't think we'll ever be able to understand it.

I'm trying to stay away from the negativity of the news in the next few weeks so I can find some of my sanity and enjoy Christmas. I think I've done a good job at enjoying Christmas so far -- every night I sit on my couch, near my tree, and watch every Christmas movie possible. It's so nice and makes me so happy, I'm already sad that it'll be over soon.

This weekend was slow and fast at the same time; I was off on Friday for a doctor's appointment and then had a little Christmas get together with my friends and it was just perfect. We made pizza, drank hot coco, played games, and sat by the fire....all in our Christmas pajamas. It was the definition of the holiday season.

Then, for some reason, on Saturday I slept till noon and felt like crap all day. Therefore, I spent the entire day in bed and ordered sushi for dinner with my sister. Today, I did some food shopping, a little baking, did some organizing and cleaning, and watched both Home Alone movies for the 200th time. Now I am here, incase you were wondering.

I really just didn't have the energy to open my laptop until 7:30 PM on a Sunday night and I need to give myself grace for that.

But let's dive right into the post...

Pink Positivity of the Week

If you saw my Instagram stories and post, you would've seen that I got a Christmas present from Stoney Clover Lane! They sent their biggest fans or 'influencers' within the SCL community a little goodie bag and it truly was the highlight of my year. I hadn't ordered anything from them but I had a package on Wednesday, so I figured it was a present.

They sent a white open top pouch with my initials in iridescent letters and a little reindeer patch on it. The pouch was filled with items for hot chocolate, candy, marshmallows, and a bunch of ornaments. It was so cute, so perfect and just was a true highlight.

I finally bought another Jill and Aly mask (they're some of my favorites) and more Stoney Clover items!

Another Saturday night, another awfully late roundup post. This week really got away from me and was extremely stressful, mostly due to work. It felt very long, very twisted, and I'm really sad to see the weekend go.

All I wish I could do is lay in bed, watch TV, and online shop. I just feel like I need a big vacation from life but I'm sure we all feel that way. I want to go somewhere, alone or with friends, and not think or worry about anything that happened this year. Maybe one day that will happen but for now, I will press on.

I know I come here every week and complain but I think it's important to be real with you. I've never shied away from my anxiety and mental health chatter on the blog and I'm not going to stop now. Things are rough, things have been rough and it takes a lot for me to come on the blog and write, even if this blog is one of the happiest things I have. Life is just hard for all of us right now and that is ok, it's normal.

I will stop with the doom and gloom to get right into the heart of this post.

Pink Positivity of the Week

Stoney Clover announced their cozy collection 2.0 this week and I can confidently say I will be purchasing everything. It won't be the best financial decision I ever made but I can accept that. It really did make my entire week and I'm so exciting.

In other positive news, I started binging Grey's Anatomy again because clearly, I am a creature of habit. It's just so good.

What I Bought This Week

I was all about the cozy vibes this week; while waiting for the October 28th launch of the Stoney Clover cozy items,  I purchased this new Lele Sadoughi 'Teddy Bear' headband. I picked up a few planner items from Cloth and Paper (I'll show you in a future post or maybe a video), this fall shirt from Letters & Lucy, this bracelet from Park & Beach, and this ring from C&C Luxury. It was a small shop week over here on Royally Pink!

Below are a few other things I picked up:

Have a great rest of the weekend!

That's it. Cancel 2020. I'm over it. I left my house once this week, last night, to go to the grocery store and drop off laundry. Things are hard, and my family & I are healthy so I can't even imagine how those who are sick feel.

I feel really hopeless right now and then I feel guilty for feeling like that. There's just so much happening, it's very overwhelming and scary. Even when this is all over, life isn't going to be the same and I'm still nursing a broken heart. I'm just at a loss for words.

I hope you all are staying a little more positive than I am. If you want to talk about it, leave a comment below, email me or DM me on Instagram. Let's help each other.

I'm currently catching up on This Is Us and will maybe start reading American Royals (finally) but for now, let's end it here and get to the post.

What I Bought This Week

I didn't really buy anything this week and have been successfully avoiding all online sales so thank goodness! I picked up this Danielle Nicole Cinderella Bag but might return it.

Programming Note: After many tries, I finally got approved for RewardStyle & am officially part of LIKETOKNOWIT! It was a true bright spot this week and I would love if you could follow me on the app. I kind of feel like I've made it.

Also, I uploaded my first TikTok videos-- follow me at RoyallyPinkLife :)

Have a great weekend everyone; stay safe and healthy.

Was this the longest week ever for anyone else? Just me? I always feel like the week before a holiday is very long. I'm so excited for Thanksgiving next week and my birthday! It's going to be a really wonderful week and then we get into Christmas mode, so it's all coming up roses.

I'm in a bit of a funk right now so I lit my Evil Queen "Blessed" candle and catching up on The Real Housewives of New Jersey. One thing that is definitely going to get me out of a funk? I'm going to see the Jonas Brothers on Saturday! I've been a fan since 2007 so I'm so excited to see their reunion tour. It's going to be an insane night so make sure you follow along on Instagram (@bribrilukes)

Now, time for everything from the week!

I'm writing this late, again, while I sit in bed and watch the latest installment of "The Beautiful World of Jeffree Starr" by Shane Dawson. It is so amazing to watch them together and to get this inside look at the beauty industry but also all the scandals that have happened over the past few months. It's like a mini-movie and I'm obsessed.

I also have a horrible cold that I'm not sure if it's allergies, a cold, or something else. It's killing me for the past few days and right now, all I want is soup and sleep.  However, I want to get a post up and some freelance work done. Hustle, hustle, hustle.

Luckily, I have off on Monday so it's a three day weekend for me; I have a few plans like the gym and Trader Joes. I'm just ready for a chill weekend with a few errands thrown in.

My nose is too stuffed to write anything else so we'll jump into everything from the week.

This is it... my last Friday of unemployment. It has been a really difficult few months and I will be doing an entire post on it soon, as well as some advice I can offer to anyone else going through a career shift. But the day I never thought would come is coming on Monday! A new job, a fresh start, it's going to be good!

I spent the week getting my ducks in a row, trying to train myself to wake up earlier than I have been, and trying to get into work mode! This weekend will be lowkey with some family and boyfriend time and I'm going to make sure to get a good night's sleep on Sunday. I feel like a child going back to school after a summer off!

What are your tips for the first day at a new job? I definitely have a few but I would love to hear yours!

I'll get to the links and all the usual stuff but just in case you missed it -- I opened an Etsy shop! It'll be focusing on art printables right now (plus a bookmark or two!). Head there to pick up something for Fall!

If you don't have a bkr bottle, you need one!

Happy Friday! Boy, what a week this was! There are a lot of changes happening in my life, all of which are exciting and those changes really manifested themselves this week. I will tell you more in the coming days but I'm excited!

It's been an exciting week really; last Saturday I went to my childhood friend's engagement party and got really emotional. I grew up with her and my two other childhood BFFs were there, and it was just surreal to be celebrating someone's engagement. I remember when we were crying over boys in elementary school or dancing together at the 8th-grade dance and now we were dancing together at the first engagement party. It was very surreal and wild, but so much fun!

Then I was hungover all day Sunday (whoops!) and then the week got busy/full of changes. I'm excited to have a weekend to myself since my boyfriend is out of town and my friends are busy, so I'll be hunkering down for some R & R!

Shall we get right into the links?

Royal Round Up: Week 44

in , , by RoyallyPink, 6:00 AM
Happy Friday! I'm feeling rather ill today, a sore throat does not agree with me so I'm home from work. I'm resting up and recharging myself -- it was a really hard week, it's been a hard few weeks and I need to just get myself together.

My anxiety and nerves manifested itself in a weird way this week, unlike anything else I've experienced before. I felt really unfocused and like I couldn't concentrate, it was very strange. It's one of the main reasons that I'm glad the weekend is here!

On another note, I'm so happy that November is here! It's my birthday month, Thanksgiving and the start of the holiday season! I'm always so happy in November, despite everything. It's a great month to me and I can't wait to fully enjoy it.

I'm planning a big beauty giveaway for around my birthday so that'll be something fun to look forward too!

Anyways, let's get into everything I loved this week.

Boy, what a week! A lot happened and I'm happy to say hello to Friday, the weekend, and almost 1 week until Christmas! I so need a vacation so I can't wait to lay up on my couch for almost two weeks.

Even though the week was hard, I think the blog content was very festive & fun. I really enjoyed writing it so it was nice to see it well received. I wrote all of the posts Saturday night while I watched Christmas movies, sat by the Christmas tree, and as it snowed outside. It felt really good to have things scheduled and not have to worry about it during the week...

Which is why there was no post yesterday. With the crazy, emotionally insane week, I just didn't have the head to sit down and finish a post... but that is usually what happens when I don't have a post go up.

One of the reasons I was nuts this week was because it was my dad's birthday on Sunday, and I really just miss him. Grief is a funny thing and it sneaks up on you... I've written about it once but I feel like it deserves another post, an update on my grief. That's probably the most blogger thing I've ever written but writing helps me in every aspect of life.

This weekend will be a busy one; I have a family reunion of sorts tonight in Manhattan, and then I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning and will head back into the city to go to the Louis Vuitton exhibit which will be so much fun.

I also still need to finish Christmas shopping because it really is sneaking up on me... there is just so much to do and so little time, and so little motivation.

It snowed yesterday too!

Anyways, here are my links for the week:

This was a tough one for me, not going to lie. Even though it was a short week, I felt completely lost. I was anxious, angry, nervous, and just really confused. I don't know if it was because of the end of Mercury Retrograde, my allergies kicking in (I always get very confused and dreary when allergy season starts up), or just plain old PMS.

I'm really glad Friday is here and the weekend is upon me. I have no plans other than an engagement party Sunday night, but I'm looking forward to recharging my batteries after a strenuous, emotionally draining week!

It's Fashion Week here in New York and I'll be going to an event next week so that'll be fun, but the city is just abuzz with fun and excitement! The weather was also exceptional this week with lots of fall fun in the air so those are two bright sides.

I have a new article on Out of Office NY about slaying the day before 8 AM so check that out for some morning routine inspo!

I got my fall candles this week from Evil Queen and they're AMAZING
On another note, here is everything I loved this week!

We're halfway through February and I can't even believe it. I don't want March-August to come, but I do because it means I'm one step closer to Fall! I really don't think anyone understands how much I hate the spring & summer, but whatever, I'll stop talking about it!

This week was tough for me; I battled some bad days at the beginning of the week and it was kind of eye opening to me. I've realized that I really haven't been in a good place and it's time that I accept I'm in a funk. Just because I'm on anxiety medication doesn't mean the world is full of sunshine and butterflies. My life is not that bad and I make it horrible -- I feel like I'm fighting against myself on a daily basis and I need to fix it.

For the past two days I've really been paying attention to this and just choosing to be in a better mood and it seems to be working. I think I also need to realize that by constantly complaining that I'm tired and forcing myself to accept that, that I'm actually just making myself tired.

I think a few weeks ago when I found about the Vitamin D deficiency, I grabbed onto that and ran with it. I used it as a crutch and an excuse for how I was feeling. I think I do that a lot; with my anxiety and my depression as well.

I'm realizing I have some work to do on myself and I think it's a good time to do it. I had a similar epiphany during September of last year and had a really good thing going but then my dad died and it all went to shit, and rightfully so.

I always seem to get super deep on weekly wrap ups but it's the perfect time to just dump my feelings out on all of you. I hope you know you can dump your feelings out on me too, I'm always here to listen!

I am SO CLOSE to moving day!!! I can almost taste it!! We are a week & a half away from my own room, in a new, nice apartment. It's a good thing too because it's been super duper hot this week and I had to pull my mattress into my mom's room to sleep on the floor. Her room is air conditioned while the rest of my house is not (#fail #firstworldprobs).

It feels so close and so real, but at the same time it feels so far away.

In other news, I was published on The Haute Mess again -- but just a repost of one of my blogs on here. Still worth the read though!

Here's what I was loving this week:
