I swore I wasn't going to do a gift guide this year but then I was inspired by my own imagination and decided I'd do a few, based on a few different personalities that I think are fun.

Now, these could be gifts for you, or for anyone else but they're definitely gifts for someone who loves to plan; gifts for the type A individual in your life, for those who are always paying strict attention to detail and who always have their ducks in a row *or at least like to*

I am that person; I have 4 different planners and am almost overwhelmed by the number of notebooks I have but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I think planners are the easiest people to shop before because they appreciate the little things that might not seem like gifts to others.  You can go to almost any store and find something whimsical and practical for the planner in your life.

This month's brand buzz is dedicated to a stationary brand that has had my heart for years on end. It was one of the first online brands I discovered when I started my blog back in 2012 and it's a brand that I've never stopped following, caring about, or using.

I've spoken about them before and they were once known as May Books, but have transitioned into May Designs since they sell more than just notebooks.

May Designs started because Mica May was obsessed with stationery and notebooks. She started designing notebooks herself, because she was a graphic designer, and people started to take notice and they wanted to buy her notebooks.

That is how May Books started, and soon changed into May Designs when they started selling notecards, calendars, and other fun stuff.

I've been a customer of May Designs since 2012 and I'm obsessed.

The entire point of May Designs is that they are hand sewn notebooks that you can personalize; everything from the cover design to the label to the inside pages -- no two May Designs are the same.

At first, I only bought regular notebooks to jot down notes or to keep for the blog or work, but now May Designs have expanded into planners, gratitude journals, budget journals, meal & fitness journals, and even wedding & baby planners.

They are really good quality and stay good quality if you take care of them. They are hand sewn/hand made so it is easy for them to get a little run down.

Currently, I have around 7 May Designs in use:

  • Budget Journal
  • Meal + Fitness Journal
  • Gratitude Journal
  • 2017 Planner (for work)
  • Daily Planner (for home)
  • Random Journal
  • Work Journal
I also have May Cards which I bought when they were first released a few years back. The company is a great company that stands behind their product, and they continually put out cute designs.

Most recently, they released a HUGE wall calendar for 2017, and expanded their regular size journals to include jumbo & mini. My gratitude notebook is a mini and the 2017 planner for work (not pictured) is a jumbo size. I particularly love my jumbo size planner for work -- the soft cover makes it easy to store and work with, and the size is good for work because there's lots of room.

If you're in the market for a new planner, or just want to start the year off more organized, I HIGHLY recommend the May Designs books. You get 15% off your first order when you sign up for the email list, and they are pretty decently priced. Plus you get to personalize them, so why not!

Whenever I'm in a bind and I need a new notebook and don't want to spend a lot of money, and don't know what I exactly want, May Designs is always there & they're always a good choice.

If you have any questions about May Designs, let me know! I have a lot of them so I feel like I could answer any questions ;)

What is your favorite notebook company?

It's that time of year... back to school season. I loved going back to school -- I never dreaded it, I always couldn't wait. I loved shopping for my uniform, loved going to Staples to pick out new notebooks and pens, and I LOVED picking out a new backpack.

I still have that passion for work bags, stationery, and new planners ... and a fall wardrobe. I still feel as if the year starts over in September, not January.

That being said, I still have a deep love for all things back to school. Whether you're

Here are some of my most beloved/lusted after back to school products!

What are some of your favorite back to school products?
If it isn't obvious by now, I have a sick planner and stationery obsession. It's always been that way...I've always had multiple notebooks, diaries, post-it notes, etc laying around. I can't resist an adorable patterned notebook, or a notepad that has cute quotes printed on it.

I'm addicted to stationery so when I was emailed by BlueSky to talk about their 2015 planners, I couldn't resist. I could always find a use for multiple planners, hence my rambling in my ban.do planner review when I said I wanted two planners this year.

When I received the package, I was so happy that I not only got a planner, but three little notebooks that are perfect for toting around your bag. I love little notebooks like this to write down random thoughts, or keep to-do lists.

The planner is HUGE. It's a lot bigger than I thought it'd be so this will for sure be one I keep at work. I'm going back and forth between this and a Lilly planner...maybe I will skip out totally on Lilly.

This BlueSky planner isn't as cute or chic as I'd like and it may or may have not been something I picked out myself. I feel like I would if I was looking for a larger, notebook size planner.

The inside is very spacious, and definitely not plain--not like the Kate Spade planner. There are some fun designs, and perfect if you like a more low key but still decorative planner.

Once I decide what I'm doing planner wise, this will be a fantastic work planner. It's definitely big enough and I think will be a great addition to my desk.

Let's talk about the mini notebooks. I"m obsessed! I haven't used them yet but I'm going to start. One for lists, one for notes, and one for ideas. All three are formatted exactly the same way, each with a little heading on the top specificing what for. (Every "note" page has the word "notes" headlined at the top, etc).

I feel like I haven't seen tiny notebooks laid out like this before but I'm glad to have them now! I think the "List" one is my favorite since I'm all about making lists!

These are adorable and something I definitely would've purchased on my own! I also really love how they come in a trio pack together. Three for the price of one!

These are not expensive planners by any means but they are well made and pretty. The BlueSky website has so many cute, adorable, and chic stationery items, I may have to get some on my own!

What is your favorite go-to stationery? Tell me in the comments!
