Growing up Catholic, Advent Calendars were a big part of the Christmas season for me. The importance of Advent was always stressed to us and I have so many memories of crossing days off calendars, moving felt pieces from one day to another or opening little cardboard doors and finding a chocolate behind it.

Once I got older, the magic of Advent dwindled a bit until a few years ago when capitalism popped off and started producing adult advent calendars for every niche interest out there. Now, in 2024 you could count down to Christmas through a variety of ways, whether it's with beauty products, tea, socks, baking supplies or jewelry.

For years I would treat myself to the Sugarfina Advent Calendar and then I upgraded to the Olive & June one, which I still think is one of the best on the market. This year though, I'm looking to change things up a bit. I don't want a super expensive one that is just a bunch of stuff I don't need...I'm really trying to cut down on the unnecessary items in my life. Choosing which Advent Calendar to buy is going to be a real test for me.

After hunting around the internet, I've rounded up the best Advent Calendars; ones that I think are super fun, a great value, or offer something really special & different.

Tessa Bailey writes incredible smut, but she also has a way of really having romance be at the forefront of all her stories. She's not just writing sex for the sake of it, she is making it part of the story. There have been books of hers that I've read that is the opposite but for the most part, I feel like she's a great romance writer. She's also such a fun follow on social media!

The first Tessa Bailey book I read was her first Christmas novel, "Window Shopping" and it was so good, it hooked me onto her stories. When I saw that she was going to be releasing another Christmas centric book, I immediately preordered it.

The premise for "Wreck the Halls" was so interesting, and something that I've never read before so I figured I'd love it. Two children of rockstars are tasked with trying to get their famous mothers, and former best friends back together on Christmas Eve. You could also figure out from the fact that it's a romance novel, that there is romance between these two rockstar offsprings.

I gobbled this book up in two days and it felt so good to be enthralled with reading again.

I never used to be a seasonal reader, mostly because I found most holiday & Christmas themed books to be too Hallmark-y and cheesy. I never resonated with the stories and they just weren't the type of stories I enjoyed reading.

That changed when I read 'In a Holidaze' by Christina Lauren; it was a fun, beautiful, heartwarming book that really altered the way I think about Christmas books...and I think it changed the way 'mainstream' writers wrote holiday books.

Now, I always feel like there more than enough fun, funny, non cheesy holiday books to read once the sun sets at 4 PM and the Christmas trees go on.

This year, the first book I chose to crack open and put me in the Christmas spirit was Josie Silver's new book, "A Winter in New York". Josie is no stranger to Christmas/winter themed books, as she wrote One Day in December and I really do love everything she writes.

I received an ARC of A Winter in New York, and it was released on October 3rd, though I didn't finish it until a few weeks ago.

Spoiler alert: I loved it and it made me cry!

Just as I did for Thanksgiving, I figured I'd talk a little bit about what to wear to Christmas this year. As Omicron continues to run rampant, especially here in New York, your Christmas plans might've changed but that doesn't mean you have to sacrifice fashion.

My style has been sort of changing recently, and I think that's because of the people I'm following on TikTok and Instagram, and who I kind of want to grow into. My style at the moment is comfort mixed with preppy, grand millennial and a little bit of LoveShackFancy chicness. It sounds like it's all over the place but I feel like I have a grip on it.

For Christmas Eve, I think I'll be a little more dressed up while for the Day, I'll rely on the comfort and laid back. All these looks fall into either of those categories.

*Also, a lot of the items are from LOFT because I've been a little obsessed and they have the cutest clothes right now.

A Little Chic, a Little Casual

Festive and Casual

Merry Christmas Eve! As a Roman Catholic, Italian-American from New York, Christmas Eve is always a much bigger deal than the Day. When I was a little girl, I remember Christmas Eve as the night we got dressed up in fancy Christmas outfits while Christmas Day was slightly more casual and we kind of just lounged around.

On Christmas Eve, Italian Americans celebrate the feast of 7 fishes, which has religious meaning since the number 7 is important in the Bible and fish is also a semi-religious symbol. You can have whatever 7 fishes you like, and sometimes people have more than that... you just need to make sure you have 7!

This year, my mom is making: steamed mussels, fried shrimp, baked clams, fried calamari, a crab sauce, and then other fish will be in a fish salad she makes. It's so delicious and I'm salivating thinking about it.

Along with the fish, we have pasta -- that's where the crab sauce comes in and a delicious antipasto which is basically a charcuterie board.

As for dessert, that is where I come in... I am always in charge of dessert because I'm kind of the only one that truly cares. My mom and sister aren't big bakers so for the past few years, I've taken over as the resident baking specialist when it comes to the holidays.

I try to switch it up every year and experiment with new flavors and types of desserts. This year, all of the dessert mixes came from Trader Joe's and I'm pretty pleased with myself. I spent all of yesterday baking (which you will see in an upcoming vlog) and it knocked me out but everything turned out delicious.

This year on the dessert menu:

  • Chocolate peppermint cupcakes with vanilla frosting
  • Gingerbread cake with cream cheese frosting
  • Peppermint chocolate chunk cookies
  • Stroopwaffe loaf cake

I'm so excited to dig into the Stroopwaffle cake -- I got the mix from Trader Joe's and it came in a jar with the flour brown sugar, caramel bits, and stroopwafels pieces. It smelled amazing while baking and even better now so I'll have to report back with how it tastes.

As for drinks, I'll probably stick to champagne this year. I kind of forgot to buy things to make sangria or mimosas but I think a simple recipe to stick to is cranberry juice & champagne for Christmas Mimosas. Below are a few other drinks I think could be fun this time of year:

What are you all drinking on Christmas Eve & Day? Let me know your traditions in the comments!

No matter what you celebrate, I hope you have a wonderful holiday season!

At the start of my blogging career, I wasn't a big gift guide person but over the years, I've become someone who shares maybe 3 guides for very specific groups of people: the introvert, the homebody, the girl who likes nothing or the girl who likes everything.

This year, we're sticking to the same theme but I'm condensing it into one huge post... and everything is under $100!

Let's get right into it!

The Beauty Queen

For the person who loves makeup, skincare, haircare, and fragrance -- who might have every new product but will never pass up a good palette or gift set.

The Work From Hom-er
*which is all of this year, right?

Working from home is the new normal so why not treat your fellow WFHers (who maybe are still not adjusted) to some essentials, like a mug warmer, wireless charger, or  UGG slippers for them to wear during Microsoft Team meetings.

The Essential Worker

If "social distancing" isn't the word of the year, the "essential worker" might be. Whether your loved ones is a nurse, doctor, teacher, grocery store manager, or a delivery person, they deserve something to make their jobs on and off the clock a little easier, a little cozier, and a bit cleaner.

The Anxiety Ridden Millennial

Millennials definitely take the cake for being the most anxious generation, and as some moved back home with the parents for the pandemic, or maybe lost their jobs, or decided to become TikTok famous, give them something to make life just a bit more peaceful.

The Book Lover

It felt like everyone started a book club this year so if you know someone who has a Bookstagram, you might want to get them something on this list.

I am someone who loves traditions. My family isn't huge on traditions but over the years, I've created my own personal traditions that are almost like mindful actions at the change of seasons and for the holidays.

I do them for pretty much everything from Halloween to the start of summer but my favorite mini traditions by far, are Christmas. I thought it would be fun to talk about some of those personal traditions that I like to do during the Christmas season and what better day to post than Christmas Eve!

Personal Christmas Traditions

Christmas Movies

christmas movies- ELF

I start watching Christmas movies the moment Thanksgiving ends. This year, I started watching Hallmark movies to get me in the spirit for the entire month of November and then once the clock strikes Black Friday, it's all about The Grinch, Elf, Home Alone, and all the claymation movies. IT puts me in the best mood and gets me in the spirit.

Decor and the Nativity

nativity scene-christmas-decor

There are few things I love more in life than decorating for Christmas. The past two years, my mom and I decide to put up the Christmas tree before Thanksgiving and it is going to become an annual tradition. I love having it up for an extra few days (or weeks, depending on when Thanksgiving is) and it just makes the season feel a little longer. On Black Friday, I decorate the house with our little odds and ends, as well as putting up the Nativity. The Nativity scene has been my favorite since I was a little girl; it's the one decoration that really means a lot to me and I love seeing other people's Nativity setups when I go to their house. The reason mine is so special is because my grandmother (who passed before I was born) handmade it. It's so beautiful and my favorite thing about Christmas.

Baking

peanut butter blossoms - christmas baking

Since I was about 17 years old, I've been in charge of baking for Christmas. My mom was never a huge baker and I love everything about it, especially for the holidays. A few weeks before Christmas, I look up recipes and decide what I'm going to make. Some years it's more complicated than others but this year is simple with some festive cupcakes and a variety of cookies. Either the night before or on Christmas Eve, I set myself up with A Charlie Brown Christmas and my baking supplies and get to work.

A few other honorable mentions:

I switch out the gallery wall in my room for Christmas prints, try to wear as much festive gear as possible, drinking hot chocolate and Christmas coffee, and for the past two years I've been trying to read Christmas books.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Hanukkah, or any other holiday you celebrate!

If you've been around here for a while, you know that I am obsessed with graphic tees/sweatshirts. They are my favorite piece of clothing and I think they can be really fun and even dressed up if you do it right.

I especially love a good themed graphic tee/sweatshirt for the fall & winter seasons. It's my go-to for a themed party whether it's with friends, family, or work. I even started wearing a Christmas themed sweatshirt on Christmas Day. Pair it with a nice pair of jeans or leather leggings, cute boots and a nice headband -- you're all set!

In recent years there has been an influx of themed sweaters and shirts to rock around the holiday season and I've been loving it.

Whether you choose to shop at Target, Nordstrom, or an online boutique, there is bound to be a Christmas sweater that screams your name!

Below are just a few that I loved this year!

This post is sponsored by Basic Invite but all thoughts and opinions are my own

We are in full swing of the holiday season and I could not be happier! My house is decorated, I have all my holiday snacks, and the only TV I have been watching is Christmas movies.

Christmas is the best time of the year for me -- it just brings me so much joy! Between the weather, the coziness of the season, and spending time with family & friends, there is just so many exciting things happening.

I also love Christmas traditions; from putting up the Nativity set my grandmother handmade before I was born,

When I was little, my least favorite thing to do was take Christmas pictures but one of my favorite things to do was OPEN Christmas cards from others! I looked forward to the mail every day in December to see whose Christmas card arrived next.

Back in the day, Christmas cards were a little more complicated to layout and send to your loved ones but now it's super easy...especially with Basic Invite.

Basic Invite is an online destination that allows customers to create their own holiday Christmas cards AND give you an instant online preview -- that way, you can see what you're ordering before it arrives. You can even order a printed sample before placing a full order, that way there are no surprises when you receive the entire final order.

How it works is you can select a design and can change the color of each element, that way your entire card is completely customized -- how cool is that?!

Basic Invite has 40 different colors of envelopes (which are peel and seal so no licking envelopes -- truly my least favorite part of stationery) so there is pretty much every color possible for your holiday cards -- whether you want a red, green, gold or another festive color, the possibilities are endless!

When you're getting ready to create your card, you can post a custom link on social media that leads your friends and family to a form where they can input their address, and then you'll have a list of addresses saved in your Basic Invite account! This is MAJOR, not only for the holiday season but you'll be able to use those addresses for other Basic Invite stationery, like wedding or baby shower invitations. It takes all the guesswork out of chasing down addresses!

Basic Invite has all the technology to make your holiday card mailing as easy as possible. Upload your photo, choose your colors, input your text and choose your quantity and viola! You are finished!

I've never read a Sophie Kinsella book before, and I haven't read any of the Shopaholic series. I do have memories of her books on my mom and aunt's nightstand when I was little and I love the Confessions of a Shopaholic movie -- Rebecca Bloomwood is my spirit animal.

However, when I got the chance to read "Christmas Shopaholic" thanks to Netgalley, I was super excited. I read that you didn't really have to read the entire series to understand this book so I was confident that I would understand everything... and plus, I want to read more Christmas centered books during the holiday season so this was perfect.

What I wasn't expecting was that the book was so different from the movie; Rebecca goes by Becky and the entire thing takes place in England, not New York. Since this wasn't the first novel in the series, I wasn't in tuned to every difference but those are definitely the key ones.

Like I said, I received this e-book before it was published in October, courtesy of Netgalley, and finished it just in time for the Christmas season!

Publisher's Summary

’Tis the season for change and Becky Brandon (née Bloomwood) is embracing it, returning from the States to live in the charming village of Letherby and working with her best friend, Suze, in the gift shop of Suze’s stately home. Life is good, especially now that Becky takes time every day for mindfulness—even if that only means listening to a meditation tape while hunting down online bargains.

But Becky still adores the traditions of Christmas: Her parents hosting, carols playing on repeat, her mother pretending she made the Christmas pudding, and the neighbors coming ’round for sherry in their terrible holiday sweaters. Things are looking cheerier than ever, until Becky’s parents announce they’re moving to ultra-trendy Shoreditch—unable to resist the draw of craft beer and smashed avocados—and ask Becky if she’ll host this year. What could possibly go wrong?

Becky’s sister demands a vegan turkey, her husband insists that he just wants aftershave (again), and little Minnie needs a very specific picnic hamper: Surely Becky can manage all this, as well as the surprise appearance of an old boyfriend–turned–rock star and his pushy new girlfriend, whose motives are far from clear. But as the countdown to Christmas begins and her bighearted plans take an unexpected turn toward disaster, Becky wonders if chaos will ensue, or if she’ll manage to bring comfort and joy to Christmas after all.

My Thoughts

When I started this book I was pretty unsure if I was going to like it. It seemed to be a little all over the place, a little difficult to follow and hard to understand. I wasn't sure if that was because of the writing, the nature of Becky Brandon ne Bloomwood or because I hadn't read any of the other books before this one.

However, once the book got moving I was able to keep track of the people (I did have to Wikipedia a few character names and see how they really fit into the story) and the multiple plotlines. I also got into the groove of following Becky's stream of consciousness which seems very hard to write and keep track of, so that is pure talent from Kinsella.

Once I got over that bit of confusion I really loved this book. I thought it was hilarious! The cast of characters was super eclectic, from Jess, the vegan to Becky's ex-boyfriend/rockstar, Craig and his pushy, wacko girlfriend Nadine and Becky's parents trying to become hipsters.

Then, you have Becky who is outrageously out there but at the core, has an amazing heart and soul which you see throughout this novel. She is a really good friend, a wonderful mother, and a wife and a person who so desperately wants to make everyone happy. She is unlike any other character I've ever read and it's no wonder that they had to make her into a movie character. Her personality and love jumped off the page and you become very invested in her journey to make the perfect Christmas.

I also think that Kinsella captured perfectly what it means to be stressed during the holiday season; it's wanting to make the perfect Christmas dinner, buying the perfect gifts, being conscious of your health and the waste you're putting into the environment, making everyone happy and then everyday life on top of that. However, she also made it a point to call out (numerous times) that Christmas isn't about the stuff, it's about the people and I loved that message woven throughout the text.

It was the perfect touch of realism in a world that doesn't really exist, with so many eccentric personalities in one place, I loved every moment of it. I loved it when Becky invented a new word, thought she was falling in love with her ex-boyfriend, tried everything to find a vegan turkey, and got locked in a pet store. It was so wild, so weird and so perfect.

You definitely don't need to read the other books in the series to love "Christmas Shopaholic" and I would 100% read again next year around this time to make it a weird tradition. That is how much I loved this book. I'm also pretty sure I need to go back and read the series and will probably continue reading because of the way the book ended you know that there is going to be another one coming down the pipeline.

If you need a good, romantic and funny book to get you through the Christmas season, or just want to read something funny and festive, you will LOVE "Christmas Shopaholic".

Have you ever read any of the 'Shopaholic' books? What did you think?

It's mid-November so you know what that means?!

GIFT GUIDE SEASON!

I'm not the type of blogger to usually overload their editorial calendar with gift guides but every year, I like to do a few. I usually do obscure categories, like people who love brunch, the girl who has everything, or the girl who likes nothing. This year, I'm sticking with that theme and first up is the introvert.

I did a homebody gift guide last year and this is very similar to that, but with a little twist. I'm an introvert by nature and it's something I've embraced in recent years. I've leaned into the fact that I love being alone and that when I'm around a lot of people, I need to spend some time alone to recharge.

I'm also someone who is very intuned with their body and their anxiety. I try to do and find things that make my anxiety a little easier to deal with and that goes back to my introverted ways and presents itself in self-care habits.

Therefore, this gift guide is for the person who is introverted, deals with mental health issues, or just needs a little more self-care in their life.

I am the resident baker in my family and am in charge of desserts for pretty much every holiday. I love baking so much and I definitely get that from my aunt. When I was little and would have sleepovers at her house, we would always bake something. From brownies to cookies and cakes, to her special nut tarts, I always loved baking when I was there.

As I grew older and learned the powers of Pinterest, the world of baking only grew. Now, I try to make something different every holiday and try to make things as festive as possible. It's fun for me to do but also I like to try to make things nice for my family.

My mom yells at me every holiday to take it easy, not go so crazy and just try to make things a little easier on myself. I tend to stress myself out with baking; one Christmas, I baked so much I made myself sick (and threw up for days because of the sugar overload). Two Christmas' ago, I baked so much I passed out on my couch halfway through because it was so exhausting.

This year, I've made a vow to take it easy in that I'm not going to make any crazy concoctions. I'm keeping it simple.

I think it's important to note that I bake for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day (Christmas Eve is the big holiday in Italian families) and my family are not huge dessert people. Everyone is usually so full from dinner, they take a few bites of one or two things and I'm leftover with tons of sweets. Those are two other reasons I'm keeping it simple this year.

Here's what I'm planning...

Gingerbread Cookies

royally pink-christmas baking-gingerbreadcookies
Last year's gingerbread cookies

It's not Christmas without them, right? Over the years I've really grown to love the taste of gingerbread so I'm excited. This will probably be the most time consuming and difficult to make because I have to roll the dough out and cut the cookies just right. However, I'm not making the dough from scratch (do you think I'm crazy?) so that's a good thing.

Gingerbread Cupcakes

Credit
I wanted to make cupcakes and I wasn't sure how to do peppermint chocolate cupcakes so I just went with gingerbread mix. I have some cream cheese frosting and I'll look for some Christmas sprinkles to top them off with. Fun fact: cupcakes are my all time favorite dessert.

Chocolate Covered Oreos

This will another time-consuming dessert but oh, it's so worth it. I made them last year and everyone was so impressed but it's so easy. All you need is a package of Oreos and melting chocolate; add some sprinkles or a white chocolate drizzle on top and you have a festive, delicious, no-bake dessert. I may switch it up this year and get some peppermint Oreos if I can find them!

I am planning on making cookies but just some pull and bake ones; I have the classic Pillsbury Christmas Tree Sugar Cookies and new for this year, Pillsbury Ready to Bake Hot Cocoa Cookies

What are you making for Christmas this year?

I loved writing this post for the Fall so I wanted to recreate it for Christmas and winter. I love Fall and all the Fall holidays but nothing beats Christmas in my mind. The entire season is filled with magic and pure joy -- I am at my happiest during the Christmas season and I make sure that joy is spread throughout my home.

I always like to reiterate that I live with my mom and sister so my mom does dictate a lot of the decorating in terms of where things go and how the tree gets decorated, but it is a joint effort because she knows how much I love Christmas and love decorating (she also just has a better eye than I do!)

My mom does put me in charge of the extra pieces of decor to really bring the house together, and I always make sure my room is in the Christmas spirit.

royallypink-christmas decor

This is how I prep my bedroom and the house for Christmas (and winter too).

*I start decorating for Christmas on Black Friday to give me ample time to enjoy the season.

Candles

royallypink-christmas decor

Candles are a big part of Christmas and winter for me, just as they were for fall. Right before Thanksgiving, I stock up on Christmas scents so I'm ready as soon as Thanksgiving is over. A candle sets the mood and can really brighten up a room, bringing the season to love. I love Evil Queen candles and she has some great Christmas scents but I also burn a lot of Bath and Body Works! My favorites scents for Christmas are Twisted Peppermint, Marshmallow Fireside, Winter Candy Apple, and Vanilla Bean Noel (I'm writing this after BBW $8 candle day so everything is sold out online!)

*If candles aren't your thing, you can definitely diffuse some Christmas scented oils in an oil diffuser!

Lights

Nothing brightens up a room like a string of Christmas lights. If you are in a tiny space and don't have a lot of room for decor, a string or two of white (or multi-color) lights will change the entire look of a room. I always string up a pair of lights somewhere in my room, this year it's above my bed and it looks so cool and cozy.

Christmas Prints

royallypink-christmas decor-etsy-christmas prints

I discovered the world of Etsy digital prints when I started my gallery wall a few years ago. I only have four picture frames on the wall but I like to call it a gallery wall! Every season I change the photos on my wall to add extra flair and decor. Etsy is filled with tons of prints that you can buy for a few dollars and download and print yourself. It's so much easier and cheaper to do it this way and there is instant gratification which is always a plus in my book.

Small Decor Pieces

royallypink-christmas decor

royallypink-christmas decor

Your decor pieces don't have to be large to make a statement. A stuffed animal here, a picture there, and hanging stockings make all the difference. I love going to the Target dollar section for this because the small wooden signs and little decor pieces are adorable, decent quality and so cheap! Another thing I love to do is take a Christmas bowl and put some candy canes in it -- it's colorful, simple, and a built-in treat!

What are your favorite ways to decorate for Christmas/Winter?

I never got the hang of gift guides and usually only do 2-3 per year but I like rounding up my favorite items to give different people in your life. I also like categorizing these guides because everyone in your life has their 'thing'.

My thing is the homebody and hygge.

I have always been a homebody. I'm someone who likes to stay home, relax, watch TV and just be chill. It's not even that I want to be alone because I like staying in with friends as well. After 4 years of continuously going out Thursday-Saturday (sometimes even Wednesdays), I'm exhausted from the bar scene. I've accepted that this is who I am and I'm done apologizing for it. I'm 25 years old and too old to care what people say about me and my homebody habits!

Also, hygge has been such a huge trend in the past few years and it's a lifestyle I love to live by! I wrote a post about it earlier this year but it's still something I practice and believe it. Everyone should hygge once in a while.

These are the things that I would love to be gifted as a fellow homebody and someone who loves to be cozy, chic, and at peace.

gift guide-hygge-homebody-royally pink

Barefoot Dreams Blanket

This is every blogger's favorite blanket and with very good reason. It's so incredibly comfortable, soft, and embodies everything I have ever wanted out of a blanket. After drooling over this blanket for years I finally purchased it via QVC (thank you, easy payments!) and have fallen in love with it. It's super cozy and just unlike anything you've ever touched before. All of Barefoot Dreams products are chic and cozy so your homebody would love anything by the brand!

J.Crew Factory Marbled Joggers

I stumbled upon these pants by accident; I was looking for a new pair of sweatpants and these looked like a good pick so I scooped them up. Well, I had no idea what I was in for! These are the most comfortable, delicious pants I've ever worn in my life. They feel like a mix between fleece and silk -- it's such a unique material and just very, very soft. I want to buy them in other colors too but one thing to be aware of is that they shed! Whenever I wear them, black fuzz appears all over my bedroom carpet. It's strange and I thought it would get better after washing but no such luck!

Candle Set

A candle set is a safe gift for anyone really, but it's an essential part to be cozy at home. I stock up on candles throughout the year but Christmas and winter are really my favorite times to burn! I think picking up a candle or two for your homebody is a great idea but what would be even more special is splurging a little on a luxe candle set, one that you know they wouldn't pick up for themselves!

Monq

monq-hygge-gift guide-royally pink

Essential oils have become a huge part of the home and part of people's wellness routine. There is nothing I love more than cozying up in a blanket and diffusing some of my favorite essential oils to really set the mood. Now, we have personal essential oil diffusers which you can breathe in for an even better experience. Introducing Monq! These personal essential oil diffusers come in a variety of flavors that all use different oils to create a different feeling. I personally love the Zen and I think a nice gift set would be great for your homebody.

PS: Use code briana10 for 10% off your order -- it's good until 12/31 ;)

Salt Lamp

In the same realm of candles and Monq, a salt lamp creates a spa-like feeling in someone's home and also has some great health benefits. It's part decor, part health and wellness and all kinds of cozy!

When it comes to your hygge obsessed friend, any of these gifts will make them smile and then immediately want to hibernate!

What other gift guides would you want to see? Or let me know what hygge gifts you would want!
I hope you had a wonderful holiday with your loved ones -- I sure did! It was a wild few days and I am for sure exhausted. I napped the past few days for hours at a time and I think I may be getting sick... this isn't a surprise because I did way too much and I always get sick this time of year. It doesn't help that there is a huge cold front in New York this week.

We had Christmas Eve at my house and I spent Saturday and Sunday getting ready for it. I baked up a storm and I'm regretting not taking enough photos of the house and my cooking. I baked a cake, three types of cookies, and chocolate covered Oreos -- it was days filled with sweets and I loved it!

I'm off all week and I can't wait to relax, plan for 2018 and get some stuff done. Tomorrow starts my 'week' of posts for the 'Best of 2017' series so stay tuned for that tomorrow!

For now, I filmed a video of what I got for Christmas this year so make sure you watch that ;)

I'll see you all tomorrow for regular blog posts!

This is it! We're two days before Christmas (I'm Italian so our real Christmas celebration is on Christmas Eve) and I cannot wait. I'm off from work and in the true spirit of the season. I started baking last night, I have a Christmas party with my friends tonight, I still have gifts to wrap and tomorrow is a marathon of cooking and baking.

I can't wait to paint my nails red, throw on red lipstick and be festive AF!

This week was a long one... just waiting for Thursday to be over so I can be off for a week and a half. I have some plans but mostly I want to just relax and enjoy my days... and also hit the gym every day (we'll see about that).

I have another Weight Watchers post coming up since they changed the program and boy do I have some thoughts! But let's worry about that after the holidays, shall we?

Next week is all about the best of 2017 and I have some exciting posts planned. As for my December Favorites, I may film a video for that instead of a post since my calendar is booked next week.

For now, I will stop rambling and share my links of the week!

Here's what you missed on Royally Pink:
Have a great weekend everyone and enjoy this time with your loved ones!

Boy, what a week! A lot happened and I'm happy to say hello to Friday, the weekend, and almost 1 week until Christmas! I so need a vacation so I can't wait to lay up on my couch for almost two weeks.

Even though the week was hard, I think the blog content was very festive & fun. I really enjoyed writing it so it was nice to see it well received. I wrote all of the posts Saturday night while I watched Christmas movies, sat by the Christmas tree, and as it snowed outside. It felt really good to have things scheduled and not have to worry about it during the week...

Which is why there was no post yesterday. With the crazy, emotionally insane week, I just didn't have the head to sit down and finish a post... but that is usually what happens when I don't have a post go up.

One of the reasons I was nuts this week was because it was my dad's birthday on Sunday, and I really just miss him. Grief is a funny thing and it sneaks up on you... I've written about it once but I feel like it deserves another post, an update on my grief. That's probably the most blogger thing I've ever written but writing helps me in every aspect of life.

This weekend will be a busy one; I have a family reunion of sorts tonight in Manhattan, and then I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning and will head back into the city to go to the Louis Vuitton exhibit which will be so much fun.

I also still need to finish Christmas shopping because it really is sneaking up on me... there is just so much to do and so little time, and so little motivation.

It snowed yesterday too!

Anyways, here are my links for the week:

This can be the brunch lover or the Champagne lover because I am both and as far as I'm concerned, brunch & champs go hand in hand.

My drink of choice is now a mimosa and I can always go for a glass of Champagne whether it's morning, noon, or night.

I think the reason I love brunch so much is that I like day drinking, food, my friends, and being able to come home early. I hate going out at night to a bar... who decided that it was a good idea to go out at 10 PM and come home at 2 or 3? I'd much rather kill a day and come home at 5 or 6 PM. At least you have the rest of the night to relax or do something, that is if you're not too drunk.

Brunch has really become a phenomenon in recent years and there is so much fun, brunch themed items. None of these are really big ticket items but are fun little gifts to get your friends or put in someone's stocking.

It's no secret that I love the winter and I love winter clothes. I've been blissfully happy that it's been so cold and I can wear my heavy winter coats. As I write this, it's snowing outside and I can't wait to wear a hat and gloves tomorrow.

The thing I love most about winter clothes is all the fun, festive clothing that comes out during the holidays. I don't mean Santa costumes or hats, but I mean the fun sweaters, socks, and other clothing items that come out to show off your love for this holiday.

As I write this, I'm wearing a Noel sweatshirt that I got last year from ILY Couture and it's so comfortable and I just feel very festive wearing it.

The trend of graphic tees has trickled over into the holiday season so there is plenty to choose from.

I swore I wasn't going to do a gift guide this year but then I was inspired by my own imagination and decided I'd do a few, based on a few different personalities that I think are fun.

Now, these could be gifts for you, or for anyone else but they're definitely gifts for someone who loves to plan; gifts for the type A individual in your life, for those who are always paying strict attention to detail and who always have their ducks in a row *or at least like to*

I am that person; I have 4 different planners and am almost overwhelmed by the number of notebooks I have but I wouldn't have it any other way.

I think planners are the easiest people to shop before because they appreciate the little things that might not seem like gifts to others.  You can go to almost any store and find something whimsical and practical for the planner in your life.
