Showing posts with label Lilly Pulitzer
The one good thing that has happened in quarantine? Lilly Pulitzer has been killing it with sales recently... and it's very unusual for the brand. They usually have two sales a year and they are dubbed the After Party Sales which come in August & January. Otherwise, the brand does not have sales or promos on their website.

Within the past few weeks, Lilly has had two major sales: a 30% off sale and then a tiered promo sale that is happening right now. You can get 30% off $100, 40% off $250 and 50% off $500.

As mentioned in my round-up post this week, I wanted to take it easy on shopping but when it comes to clothes, I bend my rules. I don't shop for clothes very often and especially now, with the warm weather coming I need more casual, loungewear clothes that aren't sweatshirts and thick leggings.

I figured this was too good of a deal to pass up and I needed to pick up some casual Lilly clothes. I have enough dresses and who knows if I'll even get to wear them this summer so I limited myself to no fancy wear.

Below is what I picked up from the sale:
Here are some items I think are worth looking at if you want to shop!
The sale ends on Monday so happy shopping!

It's the 4th of July yet again and I feel like summer hasn't even really begun. Usually by this time every year I feel like summer is over but for some reason that is not the case in 2019.

Today I'll be headed out East aka far out on Long Island with my boyfriend for a day of sun and rosé. I figured I would post a short post on what I'll be wearing, what makeup I will *probably* be wearing since I'm writing this before I get ready, and what I'm bringing in my pool/beach bag.

side note: The Lilly Pulitzer shirt I'm wearing is in the print "Sea to Shining Sea" obviously! I specifically bought it to wear on all summer holidays!

Have an amazing, safe 4th of July!

The time has come! August is FINALLY over and I am so thrilled about this. Summer is done and we are onto fall.

August has always been one of my favorite months because it always meant the same thing: fall is on its way, my favorite time of year is just around the corner and August always meant back to school! To me, August is a fresh start and the beginning of something new.

This summer was pretty good though -- I didn't do a ton and worked a lot but I had some good times with friends, and actually started dating someone so I spent a lot of time with him which is really nice. I mentioned this last week and who knows, I may dive in deeper but for now, I'm keeping it lowkey!

Last week I bought my first set of Fall candles and I know that Starbucks is releasing Pumpkin Spice Lattes this week. I haven't decided if I'll buy one or if I will wait for after Labor Day (my usual PSL timeline). I know I will be waiting until next week to burn my Fall candles and break out all things pumpkin!

I had a few favorites this month despite the fact that I did a crapload of shopping ...

1. Tory Burch Fleming Shoulder Bag: I've been talking and thinking about this bag for years but haven't seriously considered it until about 6 months ago. I eyed them up on all different retailers but couldn't justify $500 for a Tory Burch bag. I turned to my favorite preloved websites, eBay and Poshmark and finally found a decent one with minimal wear on eBay and purchased it immediately. It was under $200 and I am just in love. I haven't been using any other bag (aside from my work bags) and I cannot get enough. Full review coming soon but I had to include it because it is such an amazing bag.

2. Bath and Body Works "Focus" Candle: I've been waiting to burn this candle for months, I'm not sure why, but I finally took the plunge this month and oh my goodness, it's an amazing candle. It is meant to make you feel more 'focused' so I moved it to my desk and have been burning it when I have to get a lot of work done and it's probably a placebo effect but I feel like it works. It has a great aromatherapy smell and makes me feel so good. It's a candle I will definitely repurchase and feel comfortable burning all year round.

3. Laura Geller Filter First Luminous Foundation: I'm unsure if I mentioned this but it's been my favorite foundation this month. It was released in early July but I've been really diving into it in August and it's amazing. It feels so incredibly lightweight on the skin, has decent medium-full coverage and has a gorgeously, natural luminous finish. I don't really wear foundation in the summer but I actually have been making excuses to apply this!

4. Lilly Pulitzer Medium Agenda: This is the first time I ever purchased a medium agenda and I don't think I'll ever go back! It's so compact and lighter than the larger Lilly agendas but still, have so much room to write comfortably. I love August for the sole reason that I have a fresh planner to ruin and this month has been no different. I've become obsessed with my Lilly agenda and it's a true lifesaver -- I remember why I have purchased so many in the past.

What were your favorites this month?

I mentioned it a few weeks ago that I was in the midst of a full blown Lilly Pulitzer obsession. I even wrote a blog post about my favorite new arrivals.

My love for the colorful brand was reignited by the purchase of my planner and my Swell Bottle. Ever since I have purchased so many preloved Lilly items, bought a new dress, and have been pulling out my older Lilly Pulitzer phone cases.

There is something that makes me so happy about the bright prints and funky patterns. When I look at my collection and inside my handbags and see all the bright pink accessories, it just puts a huge smile on my face.

I wanted to talk about my current Lilly favorites that I simply cannot get enough of recently! Some are old, some are new, some are preloved...

1. Agenda: This was the first year I purchased the medium agenda and it's been such a game changer. There is still a ton of room for me to write and feel comfortable but it's not too heavy and doesn't take up a ton of room in my bag. I chose a bright pink pattern and I've been loving it so much! My full Royally Planned post can be found here.

2. Swell Bottle: When I heard the Swell Bottles were coming back this summer after they sold out crazy fast last year, I was ready to tackle the checkout process. I set an alarm for it and purchase mine within a few seconds on the Lilly app. I was so nervous about them selling out but they are still available!! I've had a Swell bottle before and hated it (I think I got a knockoff from Amazon) but my Lilly one has been amazing. It's not too heavy, keeps my water cold all day, even when it's in a hot car, and it truly a bright spot day in and day out. I've tried a lot of water bottles over the years but I'm confident that this one is my favorite! For reference, I purchased the 17oz bottle in the Seasalt Blue Swell Shell We Dance print.

3. Neck Pillow: For some odd reason I got it in my head that I needed a neck pillow. I wanted one to use while I'm laying in bed, watching TV and reading. The way I usually hold my head was getting uncomfortable and I just felt like a neck pillow would help. Well, when I was on my Lilly Pulitzer pre-love kick, I saw the neck pillow which you can usually find as a GWP during Black Friday or other big holiday weekends, and I jumped at it. I am so thrilled with the purchase and it's been such a big help when I'm relaxing in bed. Plus, the print is ideal Lilly and so beautiful and fun!

4. Tech Cases: I've had Lilly phone cases for a while but haven't gotten a lot of use out of them for a while. This kick brought them back out and I've been loving them, for the same reason I love all these Lilly items -- the colors are fun and make me so happy. I've also been using my Lilly laptop case which I got as a Black Friday GWP a few years ago; I tried getting a new Kate Spade laptop case but it didn't work out so I figured I'd stick with Lilly and it's been working out great. I also purchased a new iPad case in my favorite Tusk in Sun print and that's been a lifesaver. *I've been having a hard time finding iPad cases so this has been awesome*

Below are a few items that are currently on my Lilly wishlist-- hopefully I can buy them and review for you soon!

This was a long one, folks! It was stressful, hectic and just insane -- I'm happy it's over. I know this weekend is going to fly by though and I will feel just as crazed on Monday morning. However, I will do my best to be present and not get ahead of myself. It's one of my biggest problems, really.

This week was also inspirational in a sense; I mentioned it last week but I have really been feeling Lilly Pulitzer lately. I always go through these phases when I become obsessed with different retailers, brands etc. I go through it a lot with Kate Spade, I recently went through it with Henri Bendel and now I'm back at where it started, Lilly Pulitzer.

If you've been reading the blog for a while, you know how much I loved Lilly back in the day but after college, it kind of took a backseat. Now, I'm back at square one and obsessed with all things color!

I purchased so many pre-loved Lilly Pulitzer things from Poshmark this week and ordered this dress (which already arrived and I'm obsessed). It has definitely been a highlight of the week and has kept me feeling happy.

It was National Planner Day this week and we all can officially use our Lilly agendas!

I will definitely do a follow-up post/video on what I got but I also definitely need to slow down my spending. More on that to come...

For now, let's get into my favorites of the week!

What You Missed on Royally Pink This Week

Have a great weekend everyone!

For the past year or so, I've been off my Lilly Pulitzer kick. I don't know why but I just wasn't feeling anything they were releasing. It also might have something to do with the fact that Fall & Winter don't scream Lilly to me.

That all changed this past Spring when I was craving some color in my life. I ordered a new Lilly t-shirt at the start of summer but it didn't fit so I returned it. I got my Lilly Pulitzer Planner and even scored a Swell Bottle (which I've been loving - the bottles are still available!) so I've definitely been in the Lilly mood.

I've been wanting to rock my Lilly dresses all summer long but they are just too big on me now (Thank you Weight Watchers! It's definitely not a bad problem to have) so I wanted to invest in something new.

That feeling didn't really kick in until I saw all the New Arrivals and the new prints that Lilly recently put out. There was something that just clicked inside of me and I was truly inspired.

With this late summer collection, Lilly released a lot of pink and greens. They went back to their heritage and what they do best, with a modern twist. There are a lot of deep forest greens and baby pinks; it looks so grown up and sophisticated, I am running out to the Lilly store to get something.

Particularly, I'm lusting after everything in Pan's Garden and It's Prime Time -- they are definitely my favorite prints of the entire new batch.

I'm planning on buying the Raylee Dress in Inky Navy Peanut Gallery -- I'm obsessed with the flowing silhouette of the dress and the print. I feel like I could wear it right through fall since it's on the darker side!

I also have my eye on all the items below!

Have you been loving or lusting after Lilly Pulitzer lately?

July means one thing in my book and that's buying planners to use starting in August. This year, I had no qualms about what planner I was picking.

It was time to go back to my roots.

That's right, from the title of this blog you know what's coming.

Lilly Pulitzer planners are back in my life.

It's been a solid 4 years since I had one and I just knew the time was right. I've loved my Henri Bendel planners for the past few years, and I attempted a Kate Spade one last year (my work bag was stolen in October and my KS planner was in it, so I didn't fully use it)

My reasons for going back to Lilly are simple.

I needed some color back in my life.

While the Henri Bendel planners are sophiscated and chic and have gorgeous fashion illustrated designs, I've been in a Lilly Pulitzer mood and I had to satisfy that feeling with a planner.

I wasn't too keen on the Kate Spade planners this year, Henri doesn't release theirs until the Fall and I was just ready to see what Lilly had to offer.

I did change things up a bit and got a medium agenda instead of a large. Not being in school and having my Louis Vuitton MM Agenda at home, I don't use the 'on the go' planner as much as I have in the past. I knew that if I didn't like the medium planner I could just return it and go back to my classic Large.

That wasn't the case and I really love the medium size. *Granted I haven't used it much yet but so far, it seems like it'll be fine.

The layout is pretty much the same as before so nothing has changed there. The designs were very Lilly like and I was alternating between the one I picked up, Light Pascha Pink Aquadesiac and Nauti Navy Flamiagno. I decided that if I was going to get a Lilly planner, I was going full Lilly!

We'll see what happens when Henri Bendel releases their planners -- I've been loving HB lately and I have such a weakness for the covers. However, I really like the fact that I Lilly has a lot of space in each day; HB has very little space and then a page for notes. I think it'll be good to change things up and see how I like it.

Also, Lilly comes with stickers. Does it get much better than that?

What are you planning with for the 2018-2019 year?

*PS: Isn't it WILD that we're halfway through the year?

We are pretty much halfway through the year at this point and I'm so excited! I feel like I've been starting off all my Royal Round Up posts with that sort of language.

Summer officially started this week, I had another article published on Popsugar and 4th of July vacation is just around the corner -- I'm taking a super long, much-needed vacation (might not travel anywhere but the days off will be good) and I'm so excited.

However, I'm not really in the mood to celebrate the country or the 4th of July because of the atrocities that are happening at the Mexican border. I can't simply put into words what I'm feeling but Eva from Happily Eva After did an amazing job at explaining how I think a lot of us feel.

It was National Wear Your Lilly Day this week -- I was rocking my
Lilly tote over the weekend!

Anyways...

Here is what I loved this week!

I'm writing this from the comfort of my bedroom on Monday morning because I took the day off from work. As fun as my weekend was, it was exhausting. I drove to, from, and around Boston so it was a lot.

We arrived to Boston around 2:30 PM on Friday and took a little nap in the hotel. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Suites in Cambridge and it was perfectly fine. It wasn't anything fancy or insanely nice but the room was big, clean, and cozy. The hotel staff was nice and courteous so to me, it was a nice stay.

Friday night, went to the Boston Burger Company for dinner in Cambridge. I've been wanting to go to this place for years because they have super aggressive burgers, and it was everything I imagined. I ordered the Killer Bee which was bacon, cheese, onion rings, and BBQ sauce -- it was insaely delicious.

Afterwards, we walked around Harvard Square, went to a few bookstores, walked around Harvard's campus and just enjoyed the nice night. I was asleep by 10:30 because I was exhausted from the drive and we had an early day on Saturday.

On Saturday, we started out in the Back Bay which I think was my favorite part of the entire trip. It seems like the heart of Boston and was everything I thought it would be; so many cute shops, restuarants, and cafes-- it was awesome.

For Brunch we went to The Beehive and it was adorable -- probably my favorite restuarant I went to on this trip. It had a very 1920s/New Orelans vibe with a jazz band and dim lighting. I got Short Rib Hash with egg whites and it was divine. Add a mimosa and a coffee and you've got the perfect brunch!

Afterwards, I wanted to go to Kate Spade (of course) and it was the cutest little shop. Newbury Street was filled wtih adrorable double decker stores and I was obsessed. I got to try on some bags I've been eyeing and picked up a new phone case.

After Kate Spade, we went into the Lilly Pulitzer store which was having an awesome sale and I picked up this shirt which I've been eyeing for a while. Shopping portion of the trip? Complete!

We walked around Back Bay more, went to the Public Garden Park (I think that was the name) and it was incredible. I've never been to Central Park (bad New Yorker, I know) but this was breathtaking. I was obsessed.

After this little excursion we headed over to the JFK Museum and Library and OMG, this was incredible. JFK and Jackie O are some of my favorite historical figures so seeing a museum dedicated to the 35th President and the First Lady that CHANGED First Ladies forever, was beyond words. I definitely think this is a must-do if you're in Boston because it's touristy without being over the top corny.

When we left the museum, we headed to the North End and grabbed a Lobster Roll (my first ever and it was SO GOOD). It was back to the hotel after this for a bit of R&R and then we headed to dinner at a very late 10 PM in South Boston at Lincoln's Tavern. I got Truffle Mac & Cheese and the vibe of the bar was pretty good and if I was in better shape (not tired and cranky) I would've really been into it. It was a super young crowd but still had a classy feel, definitely not a college bar. It was really nice.

Sunday morning we headed out early but not without breakfast at The Friendly Toast. We had tried to get into this resutarant in the Back Bay but realized there was one in Cambridge, a few minutes from our hotel and it was well worth it. The menu was super interesting, with lots of fun brunch items but I kept it simple with 1 Pancake (because it was the size of the plate) and a side of bacon.

We were on the road at 10 AM and the trip was over! It was so much fun to be in a different state and explore the city. I would 100% go back to Boston ASAP, I'd love to go in the Fall and maybe take a trip to Salem, we shall see!

I have the interior design gene and I get it from my mom. She's always decorated our houses with such detail and beauty. I remember when I was little, we'd constantly be in furntiure stores or Home Goods looking for new pieces to add to the home.

Sometimes I'd come home from school and the living room and dining room would be rearranged, sometimes the living room ended up in the dining room and vice versa. I always loved to rearrange my own room and see what layout gave me the best floor space.

I never minded moving so much (I've lived in 7 houses in the same neighborhood in my 24 years of life) because it meant I got to pick a new paint color, new comforter, and a new feel for my room.

As I've grown up, I've taken that love of decorating with me. With the rise of 'living' content on the internet, Pinterest, and internet based design companies, there is so much inspiration online and at our fingertips.

When I moved last summer I was ready to decorate my room the way I wanted too. I was ready for a mature bedroom with all the Pinterest elements you could image. Well, that's what I got and you can see the full tour here.

I've changed things up a little bit, added a dresser and a hangbag organizer but today I want to talk about my favorite, current decor that I either have or is on my wishlist.

Throw Pillows: I LOVE throw pillows and have so many. I think they really add something special to the room and you can have fun with them; they can reflect your personality and your mood and I love that. It's like having a graphic t-shirt with your favorite saying. All my pillows are from Dormify, which is a great website that always has a good sale and is great for young adults on a budget.

Wall Hangings: Whether it's a photo or a tapestry, a wall is not complete without a little eye candy. I have a gallery wall of sorts in my room and this is a huge trend in design right now. I highly recommend heading to Etsy to see what catches your eye. All my gallery wall photos are from Etsy and they're adorable.

Candles: Candles are my favorite thing in the world and I have so many scattered around my room. Whether you choose decorative candles or tiny ones from your favorite brand, having a few candles around (even if you don't light them) create a cozy vibe.

Little Decor: Whether it's a lipstick tower, a figurine, or a champagne bottle, I love having little decor pieces around the room without having it be too cluttered. My current favorite piece of decor are jewelry trays; I probably have 6 floating around my bedroom!

I talk about a lot of things I love on here; I rarely talk about things I dislike, expect the disappointing beauty products.  I also LOVE a lot of things; just small, trivial things make me super happy, like the first crisp fall day, wearing a comfortable sweatshirt, when the subway comes as soon as I get on the platform, or a fresh biscuit right out of the oven.

It's the little things in life, and I've always truly believed that.

That's why I wanted to manifest that feeling into something concrete, like this blog series. I talk a lot about beauty products I love, and the fashion items/accessories, but never really the truly random items in my day to day life. The little things that make life a little easier, a little happier, and nicer.

I want to try to do this once every few weeks because I'm constantly discovering new bits that make my days.

  • Poppin Pens: I felt the need for new pens, because I need to buy everything & anything. I have one Poppin pen at work, and have used them in the past so I figured a pack would do me good. I got the multi-color pack, and they're perfect. The price is right, they write so smoothly, and they're thicker than a normal pen, but not too thick. Poppin also has some great other products; if you're a office supply junkie, I highly recommend this website.
  • Essential Oils & Diffuser: Once I get really into this (if I ever get really into it), I'll do a full fledged post. When I knew I was going to move into my own room, I knew I wanted an oil diffuser. I've heard so many things about essential oils and what they do for anxiety, and all around mental well being, and I knew I needed to try them. I purchased this oil diffuser from Amazon, along with these oils, the moment I was settled into my room. I love burning oil at any time of the day, because it is so soothing. It brings warmth and scent into the room, and the oil diffuser itself is so pretty because it changes color. I also just like keeping the lavender or peppermint oil on me when I feel a migraine coming on & it really does help.
  • Marble Post Its: Like I said, I adore office supplies and I've talked about the love a lot on the blog. In the past month or so, I've discovered a lot of websites that have the cutest stuff. One of those sites is Effies Paper. She has so many great products but when I saw the marble post its, I knew I had to have them. They are so cute and are a perfect addition to anyone's desk mess!
  • POPSUGAR: I've just been having a love affair with the brand and the website. I've partnered with them a few times on the blog, and am no stranger to their Must Have Box. What sealed the deal was the event I went to last week, and coming tomorrow is another review of the Must Have Box. I just really love everything about them lately.
  • El & Emm Sweatshirt: When I saw this sweatshirt on Instagram, I knew I needed it. First off, it's says Vogue, it's grey, and it looked incredibly comfy. It just spoke to me on another level. I'm really enjoying the graphic tee trend lately, and my wardrobe for the fall/winter is going to prove it. But this sweatshirt.... oh my God. I'm wearing it as I type this since it's the first day it feels like fall (helllo breeze!) and it's the softest thing I own. I feel like I'm wrapped in a warm blanket that resembles the womb. I need like 10 more of these. Please, if you listen to me about anything this fall season, GO BUY THIS SWEATSHIRT.
  • Lilly To Do Planner: I finally got into the groove of what feels good for me on a planning level. I have many to-do lists, many notebooks, and my Lilly Pulitzer planner. Well, my world was tipped on it's ass when I saw this little number from Lilly Pulitzer. I mean, it's a to-do planner, I needed it! I was more curious about the inside layout of this, and it really is just a huge planner that is the same all the way through. It has a huge list for to-dos, and then separate sections for appointments, items to buy, and calls & emails to respond to. I use it daily and make lists for things to get done around the house. I have a lot of moving parts in my organizational system so I'll definitely be doing a post on that, but for now, this little planner is so cute & nice to keep at home on your desk!
There you have it! The first Little Loves post. Do you like this layout? Let me know :)
I've been in a real Lilly Pulitzer mood lately. There will be times when I don't even browse the Lilly website and then other times when I am tracking the hashtag on Instagram to find out what new things people are wearing/buying/styling.

I can finally afford *some Lilly dresses and I treated myself to one at the start of the summer season. They're perfect for work in New York -- the bright colors make me feel slightly brighter & better on the gross, dirty, and dark NYC subway.

I've been lusting after a lot of Lilly: shirts, dresses, bags, and everything in between. I feel like the clothing prints have gotten a lot more tasteful in the past few years and are actually more wearable than those prints of the past. I'm really feeling it.

This is the dress I purchased a few weeks back. It's perfect for work or a daytime BBQ. It's not too short and it fits slightly loose so it's not uber tight & uncomfortable. It's a great dress to have in your arsenal in the summertime.

Purchase here

Here's everything else I want:

What have you been loving and lusting?
