Showing posts with label royal roundup

This week was actually pretty solid, and I'm very thankful for that. It started out in a blah way, only because it was the 9 year anniversary of my dad passing away. I've catalogued my relationship with grief many times over the course of 9 years and while it has gotten easier, not a day goes by that I don't think about my dad.

It's a strange feeling, to know that you will never see someone again and that they are going to miss all the big moments in your life. I can't write about it too much otherwise I will start to cry and maybe never stop, but it's just sad.

Last weekend my family and I celebrated my baby cousin's 1st birthday, who actually was born on the anniversary of my dad's death. This child is my dad's great nephew, and wow, would he have loved being a great uncle. He loved kids and he would love to see his nephew, my cousin, as a dad. It makes me sad that they will never never know him, and vice versa.

Grief is a fickle thing but it's all grounded in love.

Moving on...

My team and I moved at work so I was in a new area of the office with people I usually email with and see over Teams but never interact with in person, so it was fun and interesting. It made work a little more enjoyable and interesting.

This weekend is going to be another busy one; going dress shopping with my mom for my sister's wedding, hanging out with friends and overall just getting things done while also finding time to socialize.

Enough yapping, let's get into the roundup.

Here we are, folks...the first round up of a new year. It always brings me such joy to write 'Week 1' as the title of this blog post. It's a fresh start, a new page; there's hope in the air and a pep in our step. I'm sure that will last only until next weekend but a girl can dream, right?

This week was weird. I don't think I'll feel normal until Tuesday when I'm on my commute to work. Monday felt like a Friday, Wednesday felt like a Sunday and Friday honestly felt like a Wednesday to me. Christmas feels like it was 100 years ago, not less than 2 weeks.

As much as I enjoyed this extended break, I'm ready to get back to reality. I want structure, routines and my regular Bravo TV schedule back.

The new year has been weird so far; it doesn't feel brand new, it doesn't feel much different (some years I can feel the change in the air but right now, it feels kind of the same), yet, at the same time, everything feels different. I was very unhappy on New Year's Eve, thanks to my period and I think it threw everything off for me.

Enough babbling, let's get into the first roundup of 2025!

This post is coming later than usual because I've had another very busy week -- but when isn't that the case? I had my annual fall themed girls night on Friday so Thursday night & all day Friday was spent prepping for that. It was a lot of fun, a lot of work, and I went to sleep really late so my Saturday was pretty shot.

I had a plan and long to do list for the entire day but that was entirely scratched out when I started to feel incredibly sick and couldn't get off of the couch for more than 5 minutes at a time. I think my body was finally rebelling against everything I've put it through the past three weeks. I needed uninterrupted rest and that's exactly what I did, aside from some time spent at my mom's house for a quick dinner.

This time next week I will be in Florida for Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour and it truly doesn't feel real. I honestly don't feel like I'm even going and that might be a defense mechanism my mind is putting forward so in case something does happen, I'm not disappointed.

I need to figure out what I'm packing, wearing to the concert, and getting myself organized. I've never gone on two trips in one month so the fact that I am feels very weird, in a good way.

Let's dive into the roundup!

Well, it's officially summer in New York! The weather has been incredible and it really makes all the difference in the vibes and mood. I'm looking forward to all my summer friends, making plans with friends and family, and trying to make the most of the summer before it's gone in a flash.

This week was pretty good -- lots of work, errands and Bravo shows to watch and then scream about on Twitter. If you want to read my final thoughts on this season of Vanderpump Rules, head over to my substack.

Tomorrow I'll be upstate for a bridal shower, and then I took Monday off so I have a nice little three day weekend which will be fantastic. This week at work is going to be very busy so I need to rest up and ensure I'm putting my best foot forward.

Let's get into the roundup!

I'm back from London and wow, it was a fantastic trip. I'll do an entire recap post about it in the coming weeks but it was an incredible trip. I had so much fun, saw so much, had delicious food and it felt so natural. I don't think I was expecting to feel so calm and easy there; it felt like I had been there before. I was looking up at Big Ben, at Buckingham Palace and it felt so surreal.

It's such a hard emotion to articulate but it was truly incredible. I'm posting all my pictures and videos now on Instagram and TikTok so make sure you're following me.

We got back on Wednesday morning and I spent most of the day unpacking and trying not to fall asleep. Thursday & Friday I worked from home so I feel like I haven't had a day to reset and get a hold of myself. I need to finish unpacking (my makeup bags are still sitting on my vanity), clean, and organize my life. I was in such a state before I left for my trip that I really didn't do anything I had to do, and now I'm regretting it.

The weekend will hopefully be easy; just a few errands to run and some time outside. Let's get into the round up!

Happy March! February was both slow and fast at the same time and I'm sorry to see it go. March is always a hard month; it's the anniversary of my dad's death this weekend, the anniversary of Covid, and it just brings up a lot of weird memories for me. It also signifies the end of winter and I'm never ready for the warm weather when it comes.

This is also going to be the month that my social life picks up; it's the start of wedding season for me -- bridal showers, weddings, and all the like. It's also time for me to put my head down and plan my London trip! We have a few reservations in place but I need to plan outfits and book tours. I'm really excited but also nervous! I'll be sure to write everything up for the blog so stay tuned.

This weekend is going to be relaxing; lots of errands, some projects, and maybe some writing. I really need to make a dent in the novel I'm writing and I'm determined to do it this month. We'll see, won't we?

Let's get into the round up.

Happy Saturday! I woke up to a snowy New York and it's so pretty. It snowed earlier in the week as well and my office ended up closing so that was a nice surprise. However, that changed my entire routine and threw me off because I ended up going into the office on Thursday, which I never do.

The good news is that it's a 3 day weekend and I had a half day yesterday as well; an extra few hours of freedom on a Friday makes all the difference. I had a chiropractor appointment and then spent the rest of the day straightening up and organizing my house. Whenever I go into the office and have a particularly hectic week, I can't seem to focus on anything else and my house becomes a disaster.

I needed to really focus on getting my life together and I'm hoping this long weekend will act as a reset of sorts. I definitely say that most weekends but I'm determined to make it stick this time. Consistency is my word of 2024 and while January was good to me in that way, February has been horrible. I need to get back on track with all my goals, challenges and consistent needs.

Enough babbling, let's get into the round up!

Another week, another round up. It always confuses me how January lasts so long but every other month speeds on by. New Years feels like it was 5 months ago. I'm not necessarily complaining, it's just weird to think about.

The week was very slow and a smidge confusing; I had the day off on Tuesday for a doctor's appointment and worked from home for the rest of the week so my routine was slightly off, which always makes me question what day it is.

The weather in New York has been out of control; frigid temperatures to rainy and 60 degree days. I know we've put Mother Nature through a lot but I need some sense of normalcy when it comes to the weather. It's freaking me out!

This weekend is kind of up in the air; I don't have real plans and while I had a hibernating weekend last week, I feel like I could use another one.

My rambling is getting tired so let's get into the roundup!

We're in the home stretch of 2023 and I cannot believe I'm saying that. I can't believe Christmas Eve is Sunday, Christmas in Monday and we're in single digits to 2024. It does not feel real!

The week was a little rougher than I thought it would be; work was incredibly busy and I wasn't feeling my best so it was hard to stay positive. It feels like the fog is clearing and I'm starting to feel better, so that's always good. I'm hoping to stay in the Christmas spirit until we ring in the new year and keep things festive.

I'm really looking forward to the break from work and life, and that weird time in between Christmas & New Years where no one knows what day or time it is. It's my favorite week of the year!

Let's get into the wrap up...

Hello December! Hello 31! I'm officially in my 30s and I'm feeling a little better about it than I did a few days ago when I wrote that birthday post. I got my tears out on Wednesday night, talked to some friends and did some reflecting, which was good. It helped me get a new perspective on life, and mine is pretty great. If I just work a bit harder, get a bit more focused, I think 31 will be great.

As for right now though, I'm on my way to Boston for the weekend. My family & I are taking a little trip since my mom's birthday is on Monday. I'm sure it'll be a great time and I've never been to Boston in the winter so it'll be nice.

Then, when I get back, I'm in full Christmas mode and it's time to start watching all my favorite Christmas movies, bake Christmas treats, and try to make some holiday themed plans. I also want to do a lot of reflecting, planning, and manifesting for the new year before January 1st so we'll see where I net out with that.

Other than those few updates, I don't have much else to say so let's get into the round up!

I cannot believe we are halfway through November. I cannot believe Thanksgiving is next week, and my birthday is in two weeks. Time is going too fast and I'm trying to not let it get to me, but it's always in the back of my mind.

I have been working on trying to focus on the present, do things that are good for me, and just be mindful of where my mind is on a daily basis. I have not felt like myself in a really long time and I think I came to the realization this week that maybe I'm not like myself because I'm changing... and maybe I'm beating myself up over nothing and should try to embrace the change.

We're also coming to the time of year where I do a lot of reflecting, and also have a lot of days off from work, so I'm hoping some break time will help me gain some clarity.

The weekend before Thanksgiving is always kind of exciting; we're preparing for the feast, I'm happy to have some time off of work, the sales are plenty, and life feels good. This weekend I'll be doing some stuff around the house, helping my mom prep for Thursday and then going with my sister into the city to do Christmas stuff, like the Bryant Park Winter Village. I'm very excited!

Make sure to be following me on Instagram and TikTok to follow along on my city adventures.

Let's get into the post!

Hello again. This week kind of flew by yet was slow at the same time and I never got a chance to write another blog post after scheduling my October favorites. The week truly got away from me.

Halloween was so cute; we had a party & costume contest at work and then the office closed early so I was able to come home, watch "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown" and hand out some candy. I planned on working from home the rest of the week so was able to get some things done around the house and start NaNoWriMo.

If you have no idea what that is... November is National Novel Writing Month aka NaNoWriMo and lots of writers do it to either start or finish their novels. I did it in some part the last two years and it was really successful for me to make huge dents in some projects I've been working on. I'm determined to write at least another 20,000 words before the month is over so I could be almost done with the current book I'm working on.

Happy Friday! It's been a long week and I'm happy to see the weekend. I'm off from work today to prep for a little girls night/halloween party I'm hosting tomorrow night. The day is going to be spent at Trader Joe's, putting up decor, and cleaning. I love hosting these girls nights, it makes me feel so good to have my friends in my space and spend time together.

This week was exhausting; work was very busy and I just felt heavy with tasks. I've been trying to not put too much pressure on myself to do everything perfectly, or overload myself with daily tasks and it's truly a process. I need to also stop trying to multitask and do more than one thing at once and that is proving harder than I thought.

I've been trying to fully put myself in the fall spirit with candles, movies, food, and decor; I think this weekend will definitely put me in the autumnal state of mind so I can't wait.

Let's stop rambling and get into the roundup!

It's the last few days of September and I can't wait for spooky season! I am ready to curl up by my fake fireplace and watch Hocus Pocus; it is my comfort movie and truly brightens up every day for me.

This weekend I'm going to lay low, do some Halloween decorating, and a little rearranging of my office. I'm not loving how I have it set up right now so I want to change it up. I want the office to feel more cozy, creative, and polished. It just feels like a room now, I want it to be more useful. Either way, I will take some pictures and videos so you can see it all!

I don't have much else to ramble about so let's just dive right into the round up!

This was quite the week. It was both slow and fast, busy yet quiet, relaxing and stressful. I probably should've taken Monday off, after coming back from Charleston to just give me a minute to breathe but I didn't.

I felt like I was playing catch up all week so I'm looking forward to a relaxing and productive weekend. I think I say that every weekend but this weekend I mean it; I feel peaceful and calm right now which is a relief as I've been super anxious the past few weekends.

I've also been slacking on my content so I need to get organized and focused. Everything for me has been a bit hectic the past few weeks and I'm hoping that my anxiety calms down a bit so I could get things done.

As I sit here writing this, the biggest Bravo news ever (maybe even bigger than Jen Shah's arrest) is happening and I'm addicted. I have a pop culture Substack newsletter that I'm going to try to keep updated on a regular basis so head over there now to find out the tea.

Let's get into the roundup!

This post is coming a little later than usual on Friday because I've had such a busy week. My routine was all messed up because of doctor's appointments, a comedy show, family stuff and random days off. The end of the year is near and that means we're coasting until New Years.

I won't be working a full week until January and I'm honestly looking forward to it. The breaks will be nice and it'll give me more time to work on myself, whether it's my mental health or personal projects.

Tomorrow I'm having my 30th birthday party and I'm excited but also a little nervous; I want everyone to have a good time and want everything to go perfectly. I'm also a little nervous about turning 30. It's such a big birthday and there's so much societal pressure, I'm trying to keep it at bay but it's difficult.

The next two weeks are some of my favorites; Thanksgiving, my birthday, Black Friday... it's a lot of fun stuff and I'm really excited.

For now, let's get into the post.

Happy Weekend! I got back from DisneyWorld on Monday aka Halloween and have been playing catch up all week long. I had to go into the office, then felt ill all day on Friday and just want to take the weekend to myself and relax.

Disney was so much fun and I'll do an entirely separate post about it because I have so many pictures and things to say. There are some photos already on Instagram and I'll be posting a Youtube vlog at some point as well.

November is finally here (October favorites post is coming next week) and I'm really excited. I wasn't into the October vibes this year as much as I have in the past but November feels calmer. It feels more me and I'm really thrilled about everything happening this month... mostly because it's all about me and my 30th birthday.

I'm feeling much more wintery this year than fall -- I just want it to be dark, put on my twinkle lights and be chic and cozy.

For now though, I'm cuddled up in bed and watching Selena Gomez's new documentary, My Mind & Me, on Apple TV. Let's get into the post!

This was a weirdly long and short week at the same time. I had a nice, long 4 day weekend and was able to be social but also rest. I got a lot of work done this week as well and it wasn't too stressful so I'm hoping it remains that way for the foreseeable future.

This weekend is going to be dedicated to me: I plan on doing a little shopping, self-care, reading, and writing. I need a good reset after the busy summer I've had and I'm ready to kick back, relax and look ahead to fall.

I don't have much else to say other than my allergies are really bad, Pretty Little Liars Original Sin is an excellent show and I desperately want a new handbag.

Ok, let's get into the post.

Happy Friday! Happy one week until Christmas Eve! I hope you're all staying healthy and safe because it's feeling like March 2020 out here in NYC. Omicron is running rampant and it has hit my household. We were exposed but I got tested and should get the results tomorrow; I'm crossing my fingers for a negative because I'm fully vaxxed and I feel pretty good so we will see.

Either way, I'm staying home this weekend, going to read, create content and reflect on my goals for 2022. I think we will be ok for the actual Christmas holiday so that's a bright spot. It's just really disheartening to see the news again and feel like we're back where we started. Things were basically normal... and now a huge surge.

It's really hard but truthfully, I think I'm tuning most of it out. It's like my mind and body are protecting me from getting to a bad place again because I don't think I can handle it. I'm going to do my part, stay safe, get boosted and wear a mask... that's all I can do, or any normal person can.

In other news, the Stoney Clover Lane Princess Restock is tomorrow and I'm going to shop till I drop... actually, I'm not sure what I'm getting yet so as soon as I'm finished writing this blog post, I need to go examine the Plan Your Buy.

Let's get into the post!

Friday is here again... the week after Thanksgiving is always a little bit of a struggle but it's also always broken up nicely by my birthday which was this past Tuesday. I turned 29 and had a great, calm, peaceful day. I felt good, not anxious like I have the past few years, and was able to just have the day to myself.

I slept in, woke up to a Tiffany & Co necklace and balloons from my mom and sister, and then went to Target. I didn't need anything at Target but I really just wanted to spend the day shopping and treating myself to some Christmas decor and snacks. Then, I treated myself some more to McDonald's, visited my grandpa, and then watched TV at home until everyone came home from work. We ordered pizza and sang happy birthday with a Milk Bar cake. It was pretty dam near perfect.

Over the weekend I celebrated at a karaoke bar with my friends and this weekend, I'll celebrate some more with my sorority sisters when we go for brunch on Sunday. 29 is pretty good so far.

I also can't believe it's December and we're already in our merry mood. The house has been decorated for Christmas for a bit but now I can fully enjoy it with Christmas movies and specials.

Right now, I'm waiting for my soup and mozzarella sticks dinner to be delivered, watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and relaxing. I'm feeling slightly under the weather and just need to hang out. Tomorrow is my mom's birthday so we'll celebrate that and then like I said, Sunday is brunch. It's a jam-packed but celebratory weekend which is always fine by me.

Let's get into the post!

Pink Positivity of the Week

My birthday was definitely the highlight. I was really nervous I was going to be upset and anxious on the day because I usually am. I get sad if people forget it's my birthday and lately have been stressed about getting older. However, this year, I felt totally at peace and it was a wonderful day. It made me hopeful that the year ahead will be a good one.

What I Bought This Week

Last week wasn't as bad as the previous week because I had already done most of my shopping, but I still managed to do a little damage.
