I hope you all have a fun and safe Halloween! I will be working today and answering the door for trick-or-treaters tonight, as well as getting every last bit of Hocus Pocus in!

The end of October is just around the corner. The month feels like it went extremely slow and I'm so grateful for that! I always get a little depressed heading into November because I know my favorite time of year is coming to a close. I'm going to make sure to enjoy every day of my favorite seasons before I have to say goodbye to them again.

October was good to me. There was a lot of anxiety, a lot of realizations and some things that didn't work out but I'm hoping that things fall into place soon. It sounds so cryptic but I promise when I'm able to tell you, I will!

I loved so many things, as usual this month but mostly fashion items, including two handbags!

Tory Burch Minnie Ballet Flats

As much as I love Fall, I never quite feel prepared for the weather shift. Thankfully this year, I had a pair of comfortable flats that fit really well. I've been having so much difficulty with finding shoes that fit but this past spring when I found these flats on sale, it was a match made in heaven. They are so comfortable and fold up for travel which is a great little perk. I need more pairs and I have my eyes on the quilted ones.

Erin Condren Planner

This was a spur of the moment purchase earlier this month and wow, it has changed my life. I will be doing a full post on this later in the month so I won't go into too much detail but I've been using the Erin Condren Life Planner, Vertical Edition, as my home/main planner. I've been decorating it with stickers and really using it as productively as I could. I'm obsessed and really don't know why I've never purchased it before.

Tory Burch Perry Tote

This is an old favorite that I used for the better part of the month as my work bag. I can't say enough good things about this tote. The leather is very soft, pliable and the bag itself is lightweight. No matter how much time passes, I always go back to this as a work bag. It's stylish yet plain and fits everything you could ever need. I want to get another one in a different color and I'm curious to try out the new version Tory Burch recently put out.

Kate Spade Cameron St Flock Roses Binx

You might've seen me post this on my Instagram a few weeks ago but I was able to score this bag at 50% off on eBay, still in the wrapping and with the tags on it. It's currently on sale at Kate Spade so I recommend picking it up ASAP before it sells out. I am obsessed with this mini backpack! It is so cute, very compact and fits a lot of stuff, more than you would suspect. It is perfect for Fall and Winter, because of the black color and velvet roses but it's still stylish for the warmer months as well. I've worn it as a backpack and as a shoulder bag and loved it both ways. Wearing it as a backpack is very convenient when shopping and I don't know how I'll ever use another bag again when running errands. I HIGHLY recommend this bag but if you're not into the velvet roses, try another mini backpack from Kate Spade

Franco Sarto Mules

My mom was cleaning out her closet this month and she was going to throw out a pair of mules she never wore. I was in the market for a new pair of mules so I figured I'd just take hers! They are a tad bit small but I make them work. They're a little more masculine than I'd like but after wearing them once I fell in love with them. I got so many compliments on them, they're comfortable and I just love how they go with every outfit. I must get another pair of mules soon! They aren't available anymore but these are similar!
Zodiac beauty products are very trendy right now. Everyone is hopping on the train, from Colourpop, KL Polish, and Fresh. I'm all about it because I love my Zodiac sign and I'm very into astrology.

However, one brand has had astrology products for a while and that's Julep. I've definitely seen the astrology line over the past year but someone correct me if I'm wrong!

I recently hauled a few Julep products and one of them was the Stirring Sagitarrius nail polish. I used it for the first time over the weekend, my first time using a regular Julep polish in a while and I was pleased.

The Color

manicure monday-royally pink-julep-julep zodiac collection-stiring sagitarrius

manicure monday-royally pink-julep-julep zodiac collection

It's difficult to describe exactly what this color is. On the Julep website it says it's an irrdescient mauve which is very accurate but it has hint sof lavender, blue and silver throughout it, making it very irrdescient and sparkly.

It's a stunning color, perfect for year round wear even though I probably will classify this as a fall/winter polish in my collection.

The Formula

manicure monday-royally pink-julep-julep zodiac collection

It is a decent formula, Julep always is but this polish was a little goopy. I think it has something to do with the glitter infused into it but it was very thick. It applied really nicely, two coats was more than enough.

The polish dried rather quickly but I also used the Essie Jet Setter Top Coat as well as the Julep Ta Da Drying Drops. At the time of writing this, I've only had it on for two days and so far, no chipping. I'm pretty impressed!

I also love the description that Julep gives of Sagittarius, "for the optimistic and and truth seeking Sagittarius." When I look at this color, I feel like it's perfect for my fire sign!

I really like this color -- it's very unique and very beautiful! I think it would it look good on everyone and aside from the goopiness, it's pretty easy to apply.

I recommend you picking up your zodiac color from Julep - if you do, let me know what you think :)

Oh Friday, how sweet it is to see you again! It was another very long week but it was made shorter by the fact that I'm working from home today. I'm so productive when I work from home and just feel so much better!

This week I was very anxious, for a mix of reasons. I was PMSing, the multiple bomb threats in New York, and some personal stuff. It just wasn't great and I'm happy its over and the weekend is here!

Two good things this week? I had two more articles published on The Newsette! I've really been beefing up my freelance writing portfolio and it's so exciting! It's always been my dream and I finally feel like I'm in a place where it might be coming true. You can find the articles here and here!

Let's get straight into what I loved this week...

What I Bought This Week

I bought two things this week, both from J.Crew Factory (as usual); this velvet t-shirt and marbled joggers.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Halloween is my least favorite holiday in terms of celebrating it. I'm no longer a big drinker and can't be bothered to dress up and go to a crowded bar. It was great in college (even then I wasn't crazy about it) but now I would much rather hang out around the house on Halloween weekend, eat some treats and watch a scary movie.

However, this year I had a handful of plans that fell through at the last minute so I had already thought about what my costume would be. I'm not someone who likes to go all out and buy an uncomfortable smelly costume I'll only wear once. I would much rather use things around the house and create something unique that no one else will be in -- or at least, won't look exactly the same as me.

If you get invited to a last minute Halloween party, these are easy costumes that you can throw together in a pinch, with the items you already have in your closet.

Easy, Quick Halloween Costumes

Social Butterfly: This was my costume last year and I thought it was the cutest costume! To be a 'SOCIAL' Butterfly, I printed out the logo of all the social media platforms, glued them onto a black T-Shirt and then did my makeup like what I thought a butterfly would look like it. I thought it was quite clever, funny and very easy.

Spider: This doesn't sound like it would be easy but my makeup artist at work did this for an IGTV segment and I was FLOORED at how easy it was! She used only TWO products and did an incredible job. It came out so good and really anyone could do it if you have black eyeliner and some highlighter! Watch the segment here!

Betty Cooper: Want to dress up as Riverdale's resident blonde? Throw your hair up in a ponytail, grab a pink sweater and you're set! If you want to take it one step further, Hot Topic has great Riverdale costumes and accessories to make your costume even more realistic.

Kim Kardashian: KKW is an easy costume if you think about it. Be glam Kim K in a tight, spandex dress and heels or go Yeezy inspired and do grey leggings, a grey sports bra and some fake Yeezys. Have your phone in your hand all night, snapping selfies and rock a pink, nude lip like it's nobodies business. The possibilities to dress up as Queen Kim are endless!

What will you be dressing up as this Halloween?

Another month, another failed Weight Watchers update. I didn't lose any weight this month but gained 3 pounds. My eating has been a little out of control, while still remaining within the program and I haven't exercised, with good reason.

I talked a lot about the minor surgery I had on my leg in September; I had a lot of stitches and the doctor told me I had to take it easy. That meant not working out until this past weekend -- almost a month without working out really took a toll on me.

I work out on my pilates machine about 4-5 times a week and then go to the gym 1-2 times on the weekend. That didn't happen at all so it's no wonder I gained a few pounds.

Well, when I saw that number tick up higher than it has in over a year, I knew I had to get smart and stick with it. I know the next few months are going to be tough because of the holidays but I really am going to try my best.

I say that every month whenever I start these updates but I think I mean it this time. If I want to see change, I need to be as strict as I was when I first started this journey. I want to lose at least another 40-50 pounds and being stuck at 20-25 pounds for over a year is just not good enough for me anymore.

To do that, I'm going to be meal prepping a lot, meal planning a week in advance, researching new recipes, and working out as much as possible. I will treat myself when necessary but really have to stick to this lifestyle.

To motivate myself I've been on my Weight Watchers Instagram account more, posting and trying to hold myself accountable. I also made a huge Trader Joe's list and started stockpiling Weight Watchers recipes.

*I posted more about what I got over the weekend in my latest vlog

I'm definitely going to stick to pilates on a daily basis but maybe I'll try to incorporate yoga every so often. I started doing yoga a few years ago and it did wonders for my anxiety and helped me lose a bit of weight so we'll see.

I have already started meal prepping and planning and have been pretty successful in that so far (at least for this week). I shared 'what I eat in a week' last month if you're curious about that, but I do have a few new recipes that I've been trying out and they've been really good.

Recipes I've Been Loving

As I try more and more recipes, I will definitely share them here in my next update!

Any tips for staying motivated throughout the month or recipes you want to share? Let me know in the comments below!

Fall fashion is definitely my favorite all year! While I do love winter, there is just something so fresh and beautiful about fall colors and not having to bundle up.

I love how Fall fashion looks in photos and how it just seamlessly comes together, no matter what you're wearing. You could be head to toe athleisure or dressed to the nines and everything looks gorgeous.

My queen and Fall fashion inspiration is definitely Emily Gemma of The Sweetest Thing -- she does it RIGHT and I try to emulate her but she is untouchable.

I'm trying a few different things this season -- more sweaters, more jeans, and more stylish shoes. I want to feel my best and still be stylish. I figured I'd round up some of my favorite items to wear this season and give you some of my top picks within those categories!

Sweaters

There is nothing I love more than a stylish yet comfortable sweater. The beauty about sweaters, to me at least, is that you can dress them up or down. You can wear one on a date night, or to a family event or to work. It just depends on how you style them. There is nothing that screams Fall more than a sweater and I definitely have found my favorites over the years. J.Crew and Nordstrom are among my favorite stores to get stylish, good quality sweaters - but really, when don't I shop at J.Crew and Nordstrom!

Cozy Sweatshirts

You know how much I love my graphic tees for the spring and summer, but that love doesn't go away when the weather gets cold. Sweatshirts, whether they're plain and simple, or have a fun saying are still in style. I love lounging in them on the weekends to make myself feel slightly more pulled together (instead of laying around in pajamas all day) and they're great if you're having a girls night in.

If you REALLY want a cozy, fun sweatshirt head over to BBXCollection! I was just named as a brand ambassador and I'm obsessed with her sweatshirts. I have the Coffee and Mascara one and it is so soft on both the inside and outside, without making me too hot. She has the cutest sayings so I highly recommend.

Use the code BRIANA15 for 15% off your order :)
*the code is case sensitive so make sure you're typing it in all caps!

Teddy Bear Coats

Teddy Bear Coats are having a MOMENT and I'm all about it. They've slowly been creeping up in style over the past two seasons but this year, they are making a statement. The great thing about teddy bear coats is that they are so cozy and so warm. When you look at them, you probably only see something casual but with the right accessories and the right outfit, you can definitely dress it up a little bit. I haven't gotten my hands on a coat yet but I'm planning on it!

Mules

The mule obsession is going NOWHERE. I thought we hit peak mule last year but nope, we have not. I had this pair from Target last year that I wore only a few times because my sister stole them (!!!) but this year, my mom gave me a pair of patent leather Franco Sarto mules that she was going to get rid of and I am obsessed! I definitely need to invest in another pair before the weather gets too cold to wear them and I only live in my boots and booties.

Here are a few other Fall must-haves in my book!

I'm getting my beauty groove back and I'm so excited! I've been trying new products and discovering ones in my collection that I've forgotten about. I haven't done a ton of makeup shopping in October but I have a few things on my wishlist that I want to get so you'll probably see them in future posts.

For now, let's get right into my beauty favs of the month!

summer fridays-too faced-lipstick-beauty-beauty favorites-essence-brow mascara-lancome-mascara

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask

I've talked about this before but I cannot get over it! It makes my skin feel so hydrated and so refreshed. It feels amazing on my skin and leaves me very moisturized. With the sudden change in weather, this has been a lifesaver. It's the only moisturizer (except for Josie Maran Argan Oil) I've been using for a while so I needed to mention it again.

Too Faced Moisture Matte 'Sex on the Peach'

I was lusting after these new Too Faced lipsticks for a while before I picked one up. I purchased 'Sex on the Peach', a gorgeous beige nude shade, a little bit ago when they were on sale at Sephora for $10. I've been wearing it nonstop because it's a great Fall shade but isn't too dark. It goes with every outfit, every makeup look and is very comfortable on the lips. It really is a moisture matte! It doesn't feel drying but stays on for a decent amount of time. I highly recommend picking up a color.

Essence Make Me Brow Mascara

I ran out of my Glossier Boy Brow a few weeks ago and wasn't in the mood to spend the money on it again. After some research, I saw that this Brow Mascara was a 'dupe' for Boy Brow. I wouldn't call it an exact dupe but it's definitely a less expensive alternative. Coming in at $2.99, you can't really beat it! It has nice staying power, a tiny brush which I love, and deposits an even amount of product. It gets the job done and I would definitely repurchase!

Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara

After trying a sample of this over the summer, I knew I needed the full size. I purchased it during Ulta 21 Days of Beauty last month and cracked it open a few weeks ago. It is such a gorgeous mascara! It has a thick, fluffy brush that evenly coats your lashes, and adds volume and length while also separating them. The packaging also feels luxurious without being overdone and I really like it; it even has a little 'click' sound to signal that the mascara is actually closed. It's become my new holy grail and I will 100% repurchase it.

Sarah Jessica Parker 'Stash' Perfume

I've had this perfume for two years (I'm pretty sure) and I finally pulled it out when the temperatures dropped. It is a gorgeous, musky scent that lasts all day and isn't too strong once you apply it. It's very romantic and flirtatious, just as the brand describes; with notes of grapefruit, black pepper, sage and smokier, rich undertones. It's the ideal Fall scent and so perfect for the cold weather!

So if you saw my Book Review Wednesday this week, you would've saw that I reviewed the new Betches book, "When's Happy Hour" which is all about careers! It is one of my favorite career books I've ever read and I'm literally going to reference it for years to come.

I was so happy to receive a pre-release copy from the publisher, Gallery Books, and they were gracious enough to send me an additional two copies to give away to YOU!

Enter below for a chance to win -- the giveaway ends next week, October 27th!

Well I think we're finally in true Fall mode! It was FREEZING this week and oh my, it was glorious! I was in the best mood all week because of it, and probably because my leg is finally feeling 100% better and my best work friend came back from maternity leave!

I was off from work on Thursday because I went for one final doctor appointment to check on my leg. It's healing beautifully and I could go back to the gym! My biopsy also came back normal so everythign is good. I'm so happy that this is behind me and I can get back to normal. Now I just have other things like the arthritis in my wrist to take care of LOL.

Right now I'm waiting for my sister to get home so we can go to Chipotle and decorating my Erin Condren planner (which I will be doing a post on soon).

What You Missed on Royally Pink

I got a NEW PHONE! I upgraded to the iPhone 7 Plus because it was a good deal and really is the same as the 8 and I'm not ready to give up a home button just yet.

I also was not ready to give up some of my favorite iPhone cases so I repurchased the Kate Spade Night Roses one from eBay.

Have a great weekend!

This post is brought to you in partnership with Vagisil® and Her Campus Media. All opinions are my own.

I have always loved being a girl and I am so proud of the woman I have grown into. I directly relate that to my environment and my surroundings; I was always taught to stand on my own two feet, to be strong and believe in yourself.

As I’ve gotten older and more involved in the world, I’ve learned that women around the world do not have the same opportunities that I have had, and do not have control over the many simple aspects of their lives.

One of those aspects is the subject of sexual health and ownership of your body. We, as women, are mature enough to make the decisions that are right for us; I know that I am and that I’m very passionate about being in control of my life *I am a control freak by nature so it’s no surprise that I would want to take control of my sexual wellness and health*

I’m very proud that big companies and organizations, like Vagisil®, believe in that same message and give all women the opportunity to make those choices.

Vagisil® has been a brand that I’ve known about since I was a young girl and now I’m realizing how much of a powerhouse they really are in the area of vaginal health and wellness. For over 40 years, they have been shameless about our vaginal health and have always provided solutions to us, no matter what it is.

I’m proud to partner with Vagisitoday to bring you some more information about being charged and being prepared for your own sexual wellness and health.

Did you know that 1-in-2 women may need emergency contraception at some point in her life? That is a HUGE number, and truthfully, there is nothing to be ashamed about. Do not panic, do not fret because Vagisil® is there to help with their new emergency contraception product:

Preventeza is one tablet, one dose emergency contraceptive that helps stop a pregnancy before it starts. It’s the same ingredients as a regular birth control pill, just a stronger dosage. You should take it within the first 72 hours after unprotected sex or birth control failure, to help prevent the pregnancy before it starts.

It can be an emotional journey to decide to take an emergency contraceptive pill but you know yourself, you know your body and you know the decisions you need to make in order to live a happy, healthy life.

If you want to try Preventeza and always be prepared instead of panicked, buy one, get one free!  You can also find out more information about Preventeza and Vagisil® by going to their website.

I first discovered Betches like most millennial women... in college. Back then it was Betches Love This and now, it's a lifestyle, humor website for women (and men, of course). I can compare it to Barstool Sports, on a much lesser level but they aren't afraid to say what everyone else is thinking.

As I've gotten older and matured from the young, college freshmen I was when Betches started, so has the website. Yes, they still cover The Bachelor and Bravo shows, yes they still offer dating, beauty, and fashion advice but they are so much more than that.  Betches political coverage is OUTRAGEOUS and just simply incredible. I cannot even put it into words.

I will stop rambling because I have to get to the book review.

Betches has published two other books, one of which I read and wasn't a huge fan of. When I saw that they were releasing a career book, When's Happy Hour, I marked that date down in all my calendars and patiently counted down to the day I could purchase it.

Well, that day is October 23rd and because I wanted to read the book so bad, I emailed the publisher and asked for an advanced copy to review for all of you. They graciously sent me it and I am forever thankful -- I also flew through the book within a week or so and it was incredible and exactly what I hoped for.

I've read a lot of career books in my day, most of which I've featured here. After a while, all career books sound the same and start to give the same advice. That doesn't make a book bad, it just means that everyone is recycling the same ideas (mostly because those ideas are good and correct).

I knew to go into this book that it wouldn't be your average career book. Betches is unique and the way the company was founded was unique; three best friends in college decided to start a blog. It's not a tale as old as time but in the age of entrepreneurs, it's pretty cool. Normal girls with normal talents started a website which has launched into merch, podcasts, and three books. If I'm going to take career advice from anyone my age, it's going to be Sami, Aleen, and Jordana.

First off I can say that this book is better than the other Betches novel I read. The voice is much more honed and interesting to read and follow.

When's Happy Hour is a career book through and through but it is SO FUN. You will not find another career book like this on the market. They say everything you want to say and everything you feel, and they don't apologize for it. It's true Betches fashion.

It covers everything from how to get a job, to how to craft a resume and how to manage people. It even covers maternity leave! Not many books take you from start to finish that way.

It's also one of the only books that I feel like has actually given me steps on what to do when it comes to starting your own business. It's very clear, concise and to the point.

Another thing I admire about When's Happy Hour is that it isn't so fluffy. A lot of career books I've read are very 'follow your dreams and you can accomplish anything" or "find a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life." This is NOT THAT. It's straight up advice with a bit of snark, something I think we can all relate too.

If you don't think you need a career book, this is the book for you. It's straightforward, hysterical, and something that everyone can take something positive from. Like I said before When's Happy Hour says exactly what you're thinking about work (it sucks and cannot believe we have to do this for the rest of our lives) but would never have the nerve to say out loud.

Whether you love Betches or not, please pick up When's Happy Hour. It's quickly become my top 5 career books and will 100% be a book I reference for a very long time.

When's Happy Hour comes out on October 23rd. You can preorder on Amazon... also please keep an eye out on the blog and my social media in the next few days -- you may just see a giveaway for this :)

I got the idea for this post a month or so ago but kept putting it off. I wasn't in the right mood to write but sometimes you have to put that to the side and just write.

If you've been reading Royally Pink for a while (I started this blog 6 years ago and that still blows my mind every day) you'll notice that I don't do things like other bloggers. For example, I try to take it as seriously as possible but sometimes I lack that. I could probably take better photos and write a little better but sometimes, I get lazy.

One thing that I think really separates me from the pack, and one that I'm not sure if it's a pro or con, is that I don't take outfit photos.

I don't consider myself a fashion blogger and while I do talk about clothes, accessories, and fashion in general but I never show you what I'm wearing.

That isn't intentional... my blog was just never about THAT. It was always meant to be a place where I could share my thoughts on products, events, and anything that I came to my mind. I didn't have a strategy when I started and didn't set out to create lookbooks. It's just not who I am.

When it comes to fashion, I wish I could be like the other bloggers. I love how they put together a look and how it just looks perfect. They find the best items and know how to frame it so it looks like an outfit.

When it comes to fashion, I'm slightly lazy. My #1 thing when it comes to my clothes is that I have to be comfortable. If I'm not comfortable, I'm miserable; there have been times when I put an outfit on before work and feel so weird in it, but wear it anyway because I feel like I need to switch things up -- I end up having the worst day and feeling like crying because I can't focus on anything but my discomfort.

This definitely comes from years of not being happy with my body, and I'm still not 100% thrilled with it.

I love my leggings and my J.Crew shirts, and that's pretty much what I wear daily. On the weekends, since I've been going out more (on dates with a guy I'm seeing) I try to step it up with jeans and different styles of shirts and sweaters.

However, I still don't consider myself stylish enough to put together outfits and shoot them.

Another reason I don't take outfit photos is that I don't have a photographer nor do I have the time to shoot outfits (the laziness comes into play) and I also am not comfortable in front of a camera. If it's not a selfie, I usually am not in any photos. It goes back to not being happy with how I look...

I have considered taking photos of myself in the mirror and sharing but I need to find a better mirror than what I currently have, or just put it in a better spot. There are times when I really love what I'm wearing and want to share it with everyone.

So, if you were wondering why you never see me strutting my stuff on a New York City street, that is why. I wish I wasn't like this because I know OOTDs and outfit shoots are content that does well but at the same time, I like being a little different.

*This doesn't knock any fashion bloggers -- I am OBSESSED with fashion bloggers who take gorgeous outfit photos, specifically Emily Ann Gemma who I literally want to be when I grow up*
Mother Nature finally delivered the Fall weather to New York this past weekend. I was freezing dressed in a sweater, sweatpants and socks and desperately wanted to put the heat on. I hope that this weather sticks around so I can truly enjoy the Fall season.

I make it very known that I am the queen of Pumpkin Spice everything and I feel like with every Fall season, my love for it only grows. I make the most of the three months where I can enjoy all things Pumpkin Spice and this year, it is no different.

Everyone is getting in on the pumpkin spice trend nowadays, from beauty products to accessories, no one is safe from the basicness of all things pumpkin.

I figured it was a good time to round up all my favorite pumpkin items...

Pumpkin Spice Lattes: These are the OG of Pumpkin items and the first thing I treat myself to the day after Labor Day. I love the Starbucks one but no matter where I am, I always get a Pumpkin Spice Latte if it's available. I make them at home with the Caffe Latte Starbucks Keurig cups, or just treat myself to regular pumpkin coffee.

Pumpkin Baked Goods: Whether it's a scone, muffin, bread, cookie or cake, I eat all of the pumpkin things during the Fall season. I bake some, I buy some, and it's the one treat I really allow myself to splurge on.

Trader Joe's Pumpkin Spice O's: This is new to me this year and it was such a delight to find a pumpkin cereal that was tasty. I've tried so many other pumpkin cereals and am always disappointed but these Trader Joe's Os were delicious. They had a sweet, subtle cinnamon pumpkin flavor but nothing too overpowering.

Pumpkin Spice Belvita Biscuits: A few years ago I had a Belvita Biscuit for the first time and my life was changed forever. I became obsessed with this little babies and savored every bite. I've since stopped eating them because they are heavy in Weight Watchers points (8 points for 4 biscuits) but at the start of the season, I treated myself to the Pumpkin Spice ones. They have more of a cinnamon flavor but are so satisfying and delicious, it's all worth it.

Pepperidge Farm Pumpkin Spice Swirl Bread: Talk about the perfect Fall breakfast! Toast this bread with some butter (or even Pumpkin Butter) and your life is automatically 100x better. Taste it, and let me know what you think.

Burts Bees Pumpkin Spice Lip Balm: I just went to look for this in my makeup drawers and couldn't find it -- must mean I need a new one. This lip balm smells perfectly like Pumpkin Spice but the scent doesn't linger. Also, Burts Bees is a great company and has great lip products so it's a win-win.

Too Faced Pumpkin Spice Palette: I've only used this once but I'm including it in this post. Too Faced does so well with their themed and scented palettes so it's no surprise that they finally released a Pumpkin Spice one. It has the most gorgeous color scheme and screams Fall; from brown neutrals to plums and true pumpkin colors.  It also has that faint pumpkin scent which really puts me in the Fall spirit. You can only get this on HSN and it comes with a pumpkin scented and colored lipgloss. It's SUCH a good collection and good value.

What are your favorite pumpkin spice items?

Royal Round Up: Week 41

in , , by RoyallyPink, 5:30 AM
I am so happy this week is over! It's currently 8:15 on Thursday night, I'm slightly buzzed off of 1 glass of wine and watching Hocus Pocus. It doesn't get much better!

This was a weird, busy yet nonbusy week. I was running around a lot for work, didn't feel the greatest and it was unseasonably warm and rainy. Today and through the weekend it's supposed to be true Fall weather so I'm hoping the humidity stays at bay and we actually get some coolness. I'm ready for it.

I'm still in a bit of pain/discomfort from my stitch removal. I took the bandage off last night and it's super gross. It feels very weird to have the bandage off and I'm not too pleased about it.

I do have a fun weekend ahead -- going out for a delicious dinner with friends for my Little's (little sister in my sorority) birthday and then Saturday I'm going to a fun little thing called "Rise of the Jack  O Lanterns". You definitely need to look it up! You take a walk through the woods at night and all these pumpkins are carved into fun different things. It's so unique and beautiful. I went last year and was in awe so I'm happy to go back!

Also, I don't think I mentioned it over the course of this week but I did talk about it in one of my vlogs but my mom got engaged over the weekend! It was such a surprise and really happy -- it's really cool and wanted to share this big change with you all!

There isn't too much else to say so let's get into everything!

What You Missed on Royally Pink

I have been lusting after this Kate Spade bag since it was released last month and I found it on eBay, brand new with tags for over 50% off. You bet I scooped it up!

Have a great weekend everyone!

A few weeks ago it was announced that Henri Bendel would be closing all of its stores, including the online store. The closing wouldn't happen until January 2019 so we still have a few more months but it was very upsetting.

Henri Bendel has become one of my favorite brands over the past two years. It's a brand that has such a rich history, 123 years to be exact and the fashion industry has been influenced by those brown and white stripes for so long. It's so sad to see an iconic brand be left in the dust as the retail space continues to change and expand to new horizons.

While I'll definitely be trying to save up for a new Henri Bendel bag or two (specifically a new Jetsetter backpack since mine got stolen last year), I thought it would be a good time to post this handbag review.

The Empire Tote.

I've talked about the bag before and gave you a backstory of how much I loved it and lusted after it, but now I want to get into the nitty gritty of it.

The first thing I want to say is that it is a large bag -- it fits SO MUCH, however, it is not heavy. It's naturally a lightweight bag without anything in it and while I do pack it up, it doesn't ever get too heavy to carry.

I think it's important to note that I carry a lot with me, more than the average person and I'm used to heavy bags. It's why I think I have such shoulder and back problems.

Another important thing to note is that it does not come with a shoulder strap and is a handheld bag only. You might think this is crazy because who wants to hold a heavy bag in the crook of their arm. Well, it isn't as bad as I expected.

It's rather nice to carry the weight somewhere else besides my shoulder and it's rather comfortable to hold. I also feel like the baddest of badasses when I do carry it into work.

The silhouette of this bag is unlike anything else I've ever seen. It's very elegant but very structured and looks like something Olivia Pope would carry in Scandal. It screams 'I'm here to work' and is something I would feel so confident bringing on an interview or first day of the job.

As I mentioned above, it fits a lot. You can comfortably carry a laptop, an iPad, notebooks, a makeup bag and anything else you can think of. Everything fits nicely in it as the bag is just one big open space. There are a few smaller pockets on the side to keep things a little more organized but it doesn't take up space on the actual interior of the bag.

I mentioned in my Amazon Handbag Organizer post that I used that organizer inside this tote and wow, what a difference it made! One of the things I didn't like about this bag (or many totes) is that my metal Lilly Pulitzer Swell Bottle rocks around in it. The handbag organizer keeps the bottle in place.

I didn't think I would like the bright blue color of this because I don't have many colored bags but wow, does this add a true pop of color and brightness to any outfit! It makes me love the bag that much more.

I think if you are in the market for a new work bag, this will fit your needs. It is on the larger side but it is so beautiful, practical, and really useful. It's a statement bag for sure, but functional so you won't feel like you're missing anything.

No matter your job, I think you would enjoy this bag. *I don't think I would recommend this as anything else besides a work bag because it is so structured. I probably wouldn't even use this as an overnight bag -- I'd gravitate toward my Tory Burch tote or my Neverfulls.

If you've been eyeing this bag, get it before it is gone FOR GOOD!

When I saw that B.A Paris was coming out with a new book, I was so excited. She's written one of my favorite domestic thriller novels, Behind Closed Doors which is so crazy and out of this world, so I knew that this was going to be good.

And it was... boy, was it a good book!

I listened to this book on Audible, the first one I've listened to in a while and I was reminded why I love Audible SO MUCH. I canceled my membership a few months ago, after buying this book, because I was listening to more podcasts and didn't want to pay the monthly expense anymore.

Bring Me Back is a classic domestic thriller of a missing girl, and how her then boyfriend falls in love with her sister. Take it up a knotch and everyone starts thinking the girl might actually NOT be missing afterall... and you have an intense novel.

Here is the publisher's summary:

She went missing. He moved on. A whole world of secrets remained―until now.

Finn and Layla are young, in love, and on vacation. They’re driving along the highway when Finn decides to stop at a service station to use the restroom. He hops out of the car, locks the doors behind him, and goes inside. When he returns Layla is gone―never to be seen again. That is the story Finn told to the police. But it is not the whole story.
Ten years later Finn is engaged to Layla’s sister, Ellen. Their shared grief over what happened to Layla drew them close and now they intend to remain together. Still, there’s something about Ellen that Finn has never fully understood. His heart wants to believe that she is the one for him...even though a sixth sense tells him not to trust her.
Then, not long before he and Ellen are to be married, Finn gets a phone call. Someone from his past has seen Layla―hiding in plain sight. There are other odd occurrences: Long-lost items from Layla’s past that keep turning up around Finn and Ellen’s house. Emails from strangers who seem to know too much. Secret messages, clues, warnings. If Layla is alive―and on Finn’s trail―what does she want? And how much does she know?
A tour de force of psychological suspense, Bring Me Back will have you questioning everything and everyone until its stunning climax.

At first, it was a normal mystery. It started off slow but interesting, I was trying to figure out where the book was going and trying to solve the mystery. At first, you think you have everything figured out but like all good domestic thriller, true crime novels, a twist so big, so unexpected comes in and changes everything you thought was true.

I've read a lot of these types of books before and I'm consistently surprised. I will say, though, that I don't know if any thriller tops this one. The twist was insane, shocking and a little jarring.

It was such an amazing book -- a fast read, easy to understand, good writing and normal character development. I highly recommend!

What have you been reading lately?

I mentioned in my last Manicure Monday that I wanted to get my hands on another color in the Essie Fall 2018 collection. It's Fall in NYC and the color looked like a muted mustard yellow; when I first saw the color I was not intrigued and a little grossed out, but after seeing some nail swatches I was in love.

Last week I saw the color in my local Rite Aid and decided to just get it since it was sold out on Ulta's website. I immediately painted my nails with it and was really surprised at how much I liked it.

The formula is exactly the same as the previous color, Stop, Drop and Shop, and has the beautiful new, wide & flat brush. It applies like a DREAM and had minimal chipping -- probably less chipping than the other color.

Once applied, Fall in NYC, doesn't look as bright as it does in the bottle and dries down to a really beautiful fall leaf color. It's a little more golden and orange than true yellow and I think that makes for a gorgeous addition to your Fall nail polish collection.

If you LOVE fall colors and want to try something different, I highly recommend trying this color!

What is on your nails this Monday?

Another strange week in the books! I was off from work on Monday because I went to see Billy Joel the night before, and then off on Thursday to get my stitches removed. My wound didn't heal properly so I have to keep Steri Strips on for 2 weeks and then go see him again. UGH.

I also thought I was off on Monday for Colombus Day and it turns out my office is open. I have been thinking for months that I had October 8th off and it turns out I don't. It's a bit of a bummer but I've been so busy at work, it kind of works out.

I'm looking forward to a fun, relaxing weekend with some friends and also have some alone time. It will be spent blogging, watching Hocus Pocus and relishing in the first full weekend of October.

I don't think I mentioned this previously but I've been writing for The Newsette. It's such an incredible company and the best newsletter to wake up too! I love theSkimm to get my worldly news but I love The Newsette for some fun, lifestyle news. They also have an amazing website that changes daily (just like a newspaper) and I've been writing for the website.

My first article was about the Most Lavish Beauty Products of Summer 2018 and my 2nd one was published this week; all about what to do when you don't get your dream job. I'll have more coming so look out for them here and on social media!

There's not much left to say so here's everything from the week!
