Happy Friday! As you're reading this I am in Walt Disney World, having the time of my life. I've been planning this trip with my friends for the past few months and to finally have it be here is very exciting. I took the week off from blogging because I had a busy weekend and then flew out on Wednesday afternoon.

I'll be back home Monday and back to regularly scheduled blog programming on Tuesday. Make sure to follow me on Instagram and TikTok because I'm hopefully posting all about the trip. I'm also going to try to vlog the trip for my Youtube channel so make sure to subscribe.

Let's get into the round up!

Happy Friday! This was the longest week ever with so many different things happening it was hard to keep up. It was Wednesday and I honestly thought it should've been Saturday. I'm off from work today and tomorrow I have a friend's wedding which will be so exciting. Then, in just a few days, I'll be rubbing shoulders with Mickey Mouse and I cannot wait!

Right now, I'm soaking up the cold weather, watching Bravo and waiting for the new Taylor Swift album. I want to make Midnights my entire personality and I am just ready to cry over new music. *I am writing this at 10 PM on Thursday night*

Let's cut this short and get right into the post.

Last year I read "The Ex Hex" by Erin Sterling and loved the book! It was a really good story with a YA touch but with some more mature content woven throughout. It was one of my favorite 'Halloween' books to date and when I found out that Sterling was writing a sequel, I was over the moon.

Knowing that "The Kiss Curse" was centered around Vivi's cousin, Gwyn, I knew that it was going to be good because Gwyn was such a standout star in the first book. I was so excited when it was featured as a choice for October's Book of the Month and I immediately started reading.

I finished it a few days ago and I loved it even more than the first book.

I've attended so many weddings over the past two years I feel like an expert at what to wear. That being said, I have a very hard time finding dresses that I like, are comfortable in and feel like I look good in.

Dresses are my least favorite item of clothing and it's always been the worst shopping experience for me. It drives me insane whenever I need to find a new dress to wear and truthfully, I stick with the same few dresses I have in my closet and usually wear to black dresses because it's my favorite color of clothing.

All of that being said, I know that finding dresses is difficult for a lot of people and wanted to make it easy for you if you have a wedding coming up this fall and winter.

A few weeks ago I got a message on Instagram from Olive & June asking for my address to send me some new polishes they had. I nearly cried seeing the message because they know who I am and value my nail polish opinion.

I then began the wait by the window, waiting for this package to arrive. When I saw Olive & June launched their new quick dry polishes I figured that was the package I was getting so I didn't purchase any.

Well, on Friday, the package arrived to my door and I was over the moon. The colors they sent me are so pretty and perfect for fall. I received Sagey, Smooch, Lippy, Vintage and Koala along with the quick dry top coat.

This was a very long week and I'm not sure why. I went into the city twice, attended a Meta Beauty Summit and just felt like it was an odd break in my routine. I need to get better about going with the flow.

I also feel like October is flying by. We're almost midway through the month and I have a busy few weeks; I go to Disney in less than two weeks and I can hardly believe it's real. I'm so excited but I keep forgetting - it feels like just yesterday was July and I was planning this trip. Time really does fly as you get older and I hate it.

This weekend will be quiet and I'm hoping to rest, relax, and get some things done before a busy two weeks. I need to catch up on my life - does anyone else feel that way? Like some weeks you just feel like you're running on autopilot, then you blink and you have nothing to show for it. It's a horrible feeling and it's been like that for a few months - I haven't adjusted and I need to work on it.

Let's get into the roundup.

Since it's now October, I'm reading all of the witchy and spooky themed stories. I finished this new book a few days ago and had to make it my next review. "The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches" was released on August 23rd, 2022 and it has the most captivating title and cover I've ever seen.

I've heard people compare this story to giving off the feeling that Gilmore Girls does and as a huge Gilmore Girl fan girl, I can cosign that statement. This is a very cozy, sweet, beautiful story about family, love, friendships and learning to let yourself free fall into who you are supposed to be.

The book is a rather quick read and will captivate you from the first page.

I've never been the hosting kind but it's something that I always thought I'd like to do. I think it's so special to plan a gathering for your friends with great food, good drinks, and a little activity. I like inviting people into my home, serving them, and honestly like seeing how happy and comfortable they are.

Last year was the first time I hosted a fall girls' night and it was so much fun. I decided to make it an annual thing and this year it was Hocus Pocus 2-themed. We ended up not watching the movie (I did not enjoy it at all) but it was a really fun night with good food, good drinks, and good friends.

I wanted to highlight the party on my blog and show off my wicked party-planning skills and help you plan your own!

As I mentioned in a previous Olive & June Manicure Monday, their Fall 2022 collection spoke to me on an emotional level. I purchased a handful of colors and one of them was Tip Your Barista, a delicious, espresso brown shade. I was probably the most excited about this shade because it screams fall.

It was the first color I used on my nails after the first day of fall. I was missing a chocolate shade in my collection and this definitely filled that void.

Happy Friday! This week felt incredibly long and busy so I'm thrilled to say hello to the weekend. Last weekend was so much fun with my friends at my little Halloween party which you'll see on the blog next week and this weekend will be equally as fun as I'm headed to see Funny Girl on Broadway.

I bought tickets when Lea Michele was announced as Fanny Brice and I'm so excited to finally go! I haven't been to Broadway since before the pandemic and it's always been one of my favorite things to do so I'm over the moon excited.

Next week I have to start getting myself ready for Disney World and it still doesn't even feel real that this is happening!

Let's get right into the post...

Last year I dedicated the month of October to all spooky reads and this year is not going to be any different. I kicked it off spooky reading season a little early with an ARC of Rachel Griffin's new book, Wild is the Witch. I thought it was going to be a sequel to her debut novel, The Nature of Witches, which I read last year and fell in love with.

It was not a sequel and I'm not sure if it was even set in the same universe but I loved it just as much. Both of Griffin's witchy novels are very unique and feel like nothing I've ever read about witches before. The stories are different, thoughtful, and have a very deep, philosophical twist to them.

Wild is the Witch was released on August 2nd and will make the perfect addition to your October reading list.

I have a very odd obsession with croissants. I don't know where or when it started but they are my favorite pastries and I think they are the cutest little things in the world. I love that they represent chic, Parisian culture, and my goal in life is to eat a croissant in Paris.

Fashion and accessory brands have been feeding my obsession for years. Over time, different brands have released croissant-inspired products from earrings and necklaces to phone cases. I've collected my fair share over the years but now, the ultimate collection has landed in my lap and I'm over the moon.

September was a rather slow month, in my opinion, and I'm quite happy about that. I want to savor every moment of the fall season and the slower time moves, the better. It really feels like fall right now in New York and I'm thrilled about that. I don't know if we're having a fake fall but if we are, I will take it.

I would usually try to recap a bit of the month that just passed but I can hardly remember anything that happened. I had another wedding, which was so fun, a Baptism, which was also really fun and had a solid, busy month at work.

I think I also came to a lot of conclusions and comforts about how I want my life to move forward but I also realize I say that a lot. I realized this month that I say a lot of things and talk about outcomes without every actioning anything. I need to be better about that and I'm trying, really hard. We'll see how that pans out.

As we look toward October, the fun is only just beginning. October is my favorite month of the entire year and this year it's special. I'm hosting a Halloween party for my girlfriends this weekend, seeing Funny Girl on Broadway with my mom next weekend, a wedding in mid-October and then headed down to Disney World with my best friends to celebrate our birthday (a month early!). I cannot wait, it almost doesn't feel real.

I know I keep saying that in every blog post but I'm really so excited.

Enough babbling, let's get into my favorites of the month.
