Beauty in Review: Too Faced Better Than Sex 'Chocolate' Mascara

Over the years mascara has become one of the most important beauty products in my routine. I think it has overtaken concealer as the product I never leave the house without. I don't really feel like myself if I don't have mascara on which never used to be the case.

Mascara is also something that I don't experiment too much with anymore. I've tried what feels like hundreds of mascaras and I usually can find something I like in all of them, but lately, I've been more picky with what's going on my lashes. 

Too Faced's iconic Better Than Sex mascara has always been in rotation for me. I don't know if I've ever loved a mascara the way I love Better Than Sex.

Beauty in Review: Top 4 Favorite Mascaras

Mascara has always been part of my beauty routine and aside from eyeliner and lipgloss, was probably the first beauty product I ever tried. I've definitely gone through phases with it, where I really enjoyed mascara and when I didn't even bother with it but nowadays, I never leave the house without it. Sometimes I'm tempted to wear it to the gym, and sometimes I do.

I look so much more alive with mascara on and feel so much better. To me, nothing is cooler than some highlight on the cheeks and wispy lashes. That is the perfect every day, 'I didn't try' look.

Over the years I've tried a lot of mascaras that I've loved, liked, and didn't love. Mascaras are some of my favorite beauty products to try because you know immediately if it works. You get instant gratification with mascara which is really cool.

Just like I've gone through phases with wearing mascara, I've gone through phases of which mascaras are my favorite. Right now, these are my all time favorites -- some are new to me and I've only purchased one tube and others I've gone through countless tubes.

You'll see a trend in the mascaras I like. I really prefer a thick, hourglass brush that has a lengthening and volumizing formula. My lashes have always been really long so I really liked the extra volume. Recently my lashes have gotten shorter so I curl them before applying mascara and that helps a lot.

Ok, now let's get into it...


Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara 

There is a reason this is one of the best selling mascaras ever. There is a reason it's called Better Than Sex. I've used so many tubes of this I've lost count. It volumizes, lengthens, separates and makes my lashes black as black. It is my go-to mascara and when I don't have it in my collection, I miss it. This is the OG hourglass wand that made me fall in love. I feel like it hugs my lashes perfectly and really coats each one so everything is uniform. If you haven't tried it, I recommend picking it up to see what the fuss is about! 

*I have tried the waterproof version and didn't like it nearly as much as the original.

MILK Kush Mascara

When I received a sample of this in my Sephora order, I was super excited. A cannabis mascara? YES! Then I tried the formula and was blown away. It wasn't as wet as Better Than Sex, has just a thick of a wand but is more tapered than hourglass. This formula really lengthens my lashes, more than any other mascara I've used (it looks like I have false lashes on, seriously). It doesn't add as much volume but it doesn't clump either which is awesome. 

Laura Geller Lashboss

I'm pretty sure this mascara is being discontinued soon and I'm going to cry when it is. This mascara is life changing! It is a dual-sided brush that has a triple benefit complex that lengthens, curls, and volumizes (can you tell I used to write the copy for this product????). You can use either side of the brush or use both at the same time by twisting the brush as you coat your lashes. I would say this is the most lengthening and separating mascara in my collection and when I want a more natural look, this is what I use. 

Benefit Roller Lash

I remember when Benefit Roller Lash came out and was able to test it out before the release date. I fell in love and used my little travel tube to the last drop. I purchased it when it was released and have repurchased maybe 4-5 times after. This is another mascara that I miss when I don't have it; it really curls my lashes and does a great job at separating them. I would say this is most similar to the Lashboss formula because it's a little on the dry side, in the best way possible.

Honorable mention: 

Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara. I've only used one tube so I only want to mention it shortly. It's a very wet formula but has a big, thick brush that grabs ahold of your lashes and coats them while also curling and lengthening them. This is a slightly clumpy formula but it's nothing that really bothers me.

Beauty in Review: New Covergirl | April 2015

I received these products free of charge from the company but all opinions are my own!

Being the beauty junkie that I am, you could imagine my surprise and insane delight when I received an email from CoverGirl asking me if they could send me some of their new, not yet in store products.

UM YES!!!!!!!!!

I mean, CoverGirl is one of the first brands of make-up that I have ever bought and it's such a classic so it was a really proud moment for me.

The package arrived over the weekend (while I was away at school) so I played with them on Sunday.




The package was adorable with cute, blue confetti pieces and I was excited to dig in. The two products I received were a new eyeliner and mascara. The eyeliner is called "Intensify Me Eyeliner by LashBlast" and the mascara is the "Super Sizer Mascara"

I haven't been wearing eyeliner a lot lately but last week, I did and I realized how much I liked how I looked and that I missed wearing it. I was probably equally excited for both products but maybe slightly biased toward the eyeliner. I haven't found an eyeliner that I've LOVED recently so this one is a contender.


The eyeliner is very odd. It is a flat yet rounded, stiff brush that is unlike anything I have ever seen. It's SUPER black. It's one of the blackest eyeliners I have ever come across and it makes the most precise, thick, black line. It's amazing. I think I'm in love.



The mascara however, isn't my favorite. It's not that there's anything wrong with it, it's just not what I prefer. It's a very skinny wand that has short, synthetic bristles. It didn't give me much volume, as those types of brushes usually don't, but it did lengthen my lashes. I have very long lashes to begin with so that's why I usually prefer thicker, fuller brushes to give me lots of volume and separation.

I will, of course, use the mascara because I have it and I don't totally hate it but it's just not what I prefer. Who knows, after a few times of wearing it I may fall in love. I don't discriminate against beauty products!

I am so grateful that CoverGirl chose me to try out these products before anyone else! It's a total honor and I am really excited to use both of these products in my daily make-up routine!

Beauty in Review: Recent Hauls | February 2015

I've come to the realization that beauty products are my vice. I cannot resist the latest launch from a major brand or buying something cool I see in a Youtube video.

My room/bathroom looks like a mixture of a drugstore and Sephora. As my mom puts it, "You have so much STUFF!" And I do, I cannot help it.

Over the past few months, as my makeup collection grew, I noticed myself blogging more about beauty and wanting to read more about beauty and beauty products.

It's a been a little while since I posted a review + haul and I've been collecting a fair amount of new products that I've been obsessing over. 

What better time to share them with you all then right now?


Maybelline Sensational Mascara: Maybelline is my favorite drugstore brand and I'd be lying if I said the rose gold packaging wasn't a major selling point but this mascara is really great. It has a curved wand and a very wet formula but it doesn't smudge. It applies like a dream and really lengthens and curls your lashes. I usually reserve this for a night out because it does add a bit of drama to the lashes.

Benefit Rollerlash: I received this from PopSugar a few days before the launch, at the beginning of the month. It came in label-less packaging and marketed as a "mystery" mascara. I used it and immediately fell in love. It has such a unique wand (similar to the Maybelline one) but has a much drier formula. I've been using it religiously and was so excited to find out it was Benefit because Benefit Cosmetics is one of my favorite high end brands. It really does curl your lashes and leave them long and separated. I've been using this as my "every day" mascara and I think I'll have to purchase it when I run out.

Too Faced La Creme Lipsticks: I found two of these (Loganberry and Cinnamon Kiss) in Nordstrom Rack for $8!!!! each. They're usually $22 a piece so it was a true steal. The third one is Nude Beach and I got that in my Too Faced Better Than Chocolate Essentials kit. These have their pros and cons but I'm really obsessed. They have a glossy finish and smudge a tad bit if you're not careful when applying. The wear time isn't fantastic but they feel really light on the lips, almost like a tinted lip balm but the pigementation is insane. The packaging is hands down, the most beautiful thing I've ever seen and I'm in love. I really do want all of these, I cannot get enough.

Rimmel Stay Matte Primer: I've been experimenting with primers recently and I wanted to find a good one from the drugstore. While in CVS one day, I quickly googled "good drugstore primers" and this one was the first I found. It's a creamy, white consistency and is a little bit tacky when applied but quickly dries down to a true matte finish. It makes my foundation stay matte all day and really doesn't allow any oils to get through. My skin has been really dry so this will definitely become a staple in the summer months when I'm really oily. It really is one of the best primers Ive found, drugstore or luxury brand.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer: This has been said it's a dupe for the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer (I've never used the Nars one but I figured it was worth a mention) and some people say it's even better than Nars. It covers my dark circles, doesn't dry out my under eyes, brightens, and blends effortlessly. It's incredible and definitely a front runner for favorite drug store concealer. 

CoverGirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation: I mentioned this in my January favorites but I figured it was worth mentioning again. This is the only foundation I've been wearing since I got it and I'm really impressed. It gives a satin finish, more matte when I use the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer and lasts all day. It blends out beautifully and gives medium to full coverage; the consistency isn't too liquidy or too thick, it's probably the perfect foundation for anyone—normal, dry, or oily skin!

Monthly Muse: January 2015 Favorites

Honestly, I don't feel like January went by that fast. I can barely remember the beginning of the month. 

January is one of my least favorite months so part of me is happy to see it go but the other part despises February so I'd rather January stick around. It's one step closer to Spring and I just love the winter way too much.

Mercury was also in retrograde for most of the month and to some that may seem so silly but I'm a big believer in Astrology and I was basically a basket case this entire month so Mercury being in retrograde makes total sense for me.

Here's to hoping for a better February but who knows...

When I think of my monthly favorites, I always have a difficult time because a lot of my favorites are beauty products and I like to keep a variety. 

I don't think I did a great job but I tried!



JawboneUp: I've only had this bad boy for a week but I'm obsessed already. I'm planning on doing a full post on this fitness/sleep tracker so look out for that soon. It's so awesome to see how many steps you take or how long you're in a deep sleep for. I'm so happy I bought this...PS. A lot of these were on sale for $50-60 at Target but I got mine for $45 on Amazon. Go buy it! You won't regret it :)

CoverGirl Ready, Set, Gorgeous Foundation: I've been debating buying this foundation for a while because I've heard some great things about it but wasn't too keen on the packaging (it looks cheap and I know that's a really silly reason to not buy a makeup product). I finally took the plunge and I'm so happy I did. It's the perfect everyday foundation, easy to apply and blend, and gives a very natural, satin finish. There has hardly been a make up day when I haven't used this!

Maybelline Lash Sensational: Another new beauty product to tell you about. The drugstore was on their A game with new products this month and this was one of the few I was desperate to try. I have a lot of mascaras open right now but I couldn't resist Maybelline and the rose gold packaging. It's a wet formula with a really cool "fan" brush but leaves my lashes long, voluminous, and very black. I've been using it during the day and for 'night out' makeup and it looks good either way!

Career Contessa: This website has been so great this month. I read their articles every month and love the content they produce but this month, I found myself gravitating more and more to the site. This is such a great career website for young, millennial women with the best real, advice I've ever heard. I'm so grateful for resources like this! You need to check it out :)

First Aid Beauty: I have definitely talked about me dealing with ecezma and it's gotten better a little bit (most of my dry skin ended up being an allergy to perfume :/ ) with the help of First Aid Beauty. I've heard so many good things about this brand and it's perfect for sensitive, eczema prone skin. I bought two products on sale at Sephora and have been using them constantly this month. I bought the Dual Repair Eye Cream and Ultra Repair Lip Therapy. Both have been complete lifesavers and I want more First Aid Beauty products!

November 2014 Birchbox Review

Another month, another Birchbox and this month was pretty good. Honestly, I always love my Birchbox. There's always at least one item I've been wanting to try or I've been wanting something similar. I don't understand people who constantly complain about subscription boxes—like it's $10 a month, chill out.

Anyways......

Birchbox started doing this thing where they let you pick one of the samples in your box every month, that way you can get something you really want. Or you could just leave your box as is and be totally surprised.

I had missed the boat on the deadline for the October box so I was really excited to see the November choices. There were a few items that I could've liked but instead, I chose the Buzzfeed Life Curated box. That was an option—instead of your regular box, you could opt for this special box created by the Buzzfeed Life team.





The items were listed on the website so you knew what was in the box before you received it and honestly, all these products were ones I have been eyeing up for months so I thought mind as well get that one!

I am not disappointed and quite excited for this!

Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo: Everyone all over the internet has been raving about this dry shampoo so I'm really excited I finally get to try it. The sample size is quite generous, a usual travel sized dry shampoo bottle so that's awesome. It smells incredible—it has Sea Buckthorn and I just love the way that smells. Dry shampoo is tricky to get right but I think Amika has hit it on the head. I don't have any white residue in my hair after application, it smells great, and honestly really does soak up all the oil and makes my hair feel, look, and smell fresh. I will definitely be repurchasing this once the sample runs out. I may even like it more than my other favorite dry shampoo.

Dr. Jart+ Pore Minimalist Mask: This is another product I have seen EVERYWHERE. Dr. Jart's is also a brand I have been seeing everywhere in the Birchbox universe and with my skin issues lately, I really wanted to try this mask. This is a Korean mask that is "soaked in charcoal serum to clear and smooth skin." It is also supposed to help the appearance of pores and it's a scary black color. As I write this, I haven't tried it yet but I've heard so many good things about it, I'm sure it'll be great. It'll also be hard to distinguish if it really works because it's a one time use mask.

Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips: Once again, another product people go crazy for. It's something I've been wanting to try (see what I meant by I wanted to try every single product for a long time) and it definitely lives up to the hype. It's a thick gel, think vaseline but thicker (kind of like Aquaphor or Carmex). My lips have been super chapped lately and this has helped them feel moisturized and smooth. I use this right before bed and my lips feel awesome in the morning. The sample size is super disappointing as there is hardly any product in the tube but I'll probably get the full size because it's not super expensive.

Greenleaf Signature Candle in Silver Spruce: I've been obsessed with candles lately and it was a major selling point for the Buzzfeed box. It's a tiny little candle and doesn't give off a super strong smell but it's so so nice. It smells like Christmas trees and a fresh, winter smell and it has been getting me in the holiday spirit. I'm obsessed.

Mirenesse iCurl Secret Weapon 24hr Mascara: The selling point of this mascara is that it's like an eyelash curler and mascara in one. The wand is in the shape of your eyelash, a U shaped, which makes for easy, awesome application. Does it last 24 hours? Probably not but OHMYGOD. It lengthens, separates, and really does look like all you did was curl your lashes with the best eye lash curler in the universe. The mascara dries really quickly, almost as soon as it touches your lash but the true star here is the brush. As soon as I applied, my mouth dropped and I was stunned at my lashes. Incredible and I'm saving up my Birchbox points for this bad boy.

Monthly Muse: September 2014 Favorites

How is September over already? Seriously, how is it over? I'm utterly confused as to how today is the last day of September. 

It was a wild month, emotionally, but a boring month, socially. September was weird and for the first time in my life, I wasn't sitting in a hot, sticky classroom. This was and still is an adjustment. 

I'm kind of glad to see September go and for October to start. October has always been very good to me so I'm definitely looking forward to it. Also, my social calendar is filled to the brim with fun events all month so hopefully that'll help me get out of my post-grad funk.

Even though September wasn't my favorite, there was still a lot of stuff I loved--hence, my favorites.

I'm still getting the hang of these favorite posts so bare with me.


Beauty Blender: Do I even have to say it? This was in my "Recent Beauty Haul" post and I'm obsessed. I was skeptical at first because it's "just a sponge" but it really is so much more than that. It applies concealer and foundation flawlessly and effortlessly. I haven't tried it out with a true liquid foundation but I used it with my Rimmel Stay Matte Mousse foundation and it applied like a dream. This is a staple that everyone should have-- I use it everyday.

Pumpkin Spice Lattes: #BasicBitch and I don't care who knows it. I usually reserve all fall related things until it gets crazy cool outside but I was so tempted this month. I did wait, until the 2nd week in September to start enjoying PSL's but I couldn't help it. I get mine iced from Dunkin Donuts before work and hot from Starbucks on the weekends. Give me pumpkin everything!

Color Whisper in Mocha Muse: I've had this color for almost a year now and I just rediscovered it. Color Whispers by Maybelline are the perfect mix of lipstick and balm, in a fun little tube. I've been experimenting more with actual lipsticks but sometimes I'm lazy or don't want a full blown lip color so I've been reaching for this. It adds a touch of shine and moisturizers at the same time so it's perfect.

Milani Runway Lashes in Black: During the day, I don't like to look too made up. Sometimes I won't eveen put on face makeup, just throw on some eyeliner and mascara. I have a few different mascaras that I use for different occasions because they give me thicker and fuller lashes. Sometimes I just want a natural looking lash and this is where Milani Runway Lashes come in. I got this in my HerConference goodie bag and just started really using this. It has a thin brush which still makes my lashes thick and full but not too much. It gives a very natural, no mascara look that I love. You can however, build this up to give you dramatic lashes as well.

Bustle App: Okay, this is a weird favorite to have but it's recently discovered and I love it. I follow Bustle on Facebook and love reading their articles, everything from entertainment to lifestyle to beauty, it's an awesome website. I discovered a few weeks ago that they have an app and it's made my life. I love reading articles on my way to work and at night before I got to sleep. It makes things easier and is just really cool.

Once Upon a Time: I spent the entire month watching this show on Netflix and I'm obsessed. I was in need of a new show and there didn't seem to be a better time to start one. I tried watching Once Upon a Time when it first premiered four years ago but couldn't get into it. Now, I can't get enough. I finished the third season on Friday night, just in time for season 4 to premiere on Sunday. Fairytales, curses, and love stories? What more could you want from a show?

Big Little Lies: I received this book courtesy of the Birchbox/Birchbloggers monthly book club and was so excited to read it! I finished it within two weeks and am floored at how incredible it was. There is nothing like getting lost in a good book! Look for a full review on this baby in the next few weeks.

Too Faced's Beauty Blogger Darlings

A few months ago I had a Sephora giftcard for $25 but had no idea what to buy. There isn't that much you could get at Sephora for $25, shipping included but I was determined. 

I of course have been obsessed with all beauty items over the past few months so I needed to crave my luxury beauty brand desire. 

After a lot of searching and deliberating, I decided on what seemed like the perfect fit for me. Too Faced (which is my new favorite luxury beauty brand) has a little collection called "Beauty Blogger Darlings" which is composed of four products that all beauty bloggers rave about...four holy grail items that are best sellers.

I've heard about all these products and only tried one of them but my goodness, I don't know why I waited this long to try them all.

The set consists of four deluxe size samples of Too Faced best sellers and it's only available at Sephora.com



 .14oz Chocolate Soleil Bronzer
.17oz Primed and Poreless Face Primer
.17oz Better than Sex Mascara
. 17oz Shadow Insurance Eye Shadow Primer

The one product that I tried was the Shadow Insurance and I was really happy to get a deluxe sample. I haven't tried a lot of eye shadow primers but this is by far an amazing product. A little goes a long way and you only need to apply a little bit to your eyelids. The wear is so much better with the primer than without, as is the point of a primer. The formula is really light weight and once applied, doesn't feel like there is anything on your eye. Also, the color of your shadow and eyeliner are a lot brighter and more pigmented than without the primer.

Primed and Poreless Face Primer: Like the Shadow Insurance, this was a deluxe sample but I have never tried it before. It applies clear but comes out as a light pink shade; once again, it is very lightweight and airy after applied to your face. It really does minimize your pores and makes your face makeup a lot brighter and longer wear. I have tried one other primer by Lancome which is a little more oily than this one but the wear was kind of the same.

Better than Sex Mascara: This is an amazing product!! Like seriously, one of the best mascaras I've ever tried. It gives you a dramatic, long and luxurious lash without clumping. It does a great job at separating your lashes but not a spidery look. It's a little too dramatic for daytime wear but for the night, this is my go-to mascara.

Chocolate Soleil Bronzer: I've heard about this product a thousand times over and I was so thrilled to try it out. I mean, this is by far the best bronzer I have ever used and for a deluxe sample, this is a hefty size. It gives such a fabulous, matte bronzed look--no shimmer actually works with this one. Because of the no shimmer, adding a highlight product will work great with it and the matte finish is perfect for contouring (I've attempted it, more on that in another post). 

This little set values at $20 and it is worth every cent, mostly because all of these products retail at more than $20 for the full size. These four products have become my go-tos and I'm going to be disappointed when they all run out.

Beauty in Review: Maybelline

Last week I ran out of everything: mascara, foundation, eyebrow pencil. My make up bag was crying and I was pretty much faceless. 



I ran to CVS and stalked the beauty aisle until I found my lovely FIT Me Stick Foundation by Maybelline. I decided to purchase one shade darker than I usually do and it made a hint of a difference in my routine. Instead of getting Natural Beige 220, I got Natural Buff 230. It's a little bit darker but definitely covers up more. 

Then I was searching for mascaras that would satisfy my needs. I've been in a love/hate relationship with mascaras lately (that's a whole other post) and was in want and need of a simple lash curler that I could rock during the day. I ended up choosing trusty pink and green, Maybelline's Great Lash. 



Then came the search for an eyebrow pencil. CVS surprisingly was running very, very low in the pencil market. I couldn't find any from any beauty brand! Maybelline came in clutch once again and I bought a package of two brown eyebrow pencils. They aren't the greatest but they will do for now.

I lost my red lipstick months ago and have been in the market for a new one since. I thought I'd stick with my Maybelline trend and purchased this gorgeous color titled Red Revival. It is the perfect shade of winter red, not too fire truck but a deep wine.



I usually am not brand loyal when it comes to make-up. I stick with what I like and mix brands all the time. Maybelline seems to have been on their A-game recently or I wouldn't have thought to pick up all these goodies!

My Daily Beauty Routine

My daily beauty routine has drastically changed over the past year. I've mentioned it before how having this blog has changed my beauty regime. I've discovered new products, tried out different things, and developed a much more appreciative attitude toward beauty products.

I'm a person who loves routines and all summer, I had the same routine: moisturizer, BB Cream, liquid blush, Erase Paste concealer, eyeliner and mascara. It was very simple, very to the point, and I was fine with it.

With the Fall quickly approaching, my make-up routine is changing, even from day to day, everything I do is different.

Here's my current, favorite make-up routine for a simple week day that consists of classes, meetings, and work!
Beauty Routine 2013

I start with a nice cleanser; my favorite is the Clean and Clear Morning Burst because the tiny beads really do help wake you up. I also love the new gel moisturizer that Morning Burst released a few months back. The gel is so light on my face and doesn't make me feel greasy.

My under eye circles are the worst so I do everything I could to de-puff them; an under eye roller paired with Benefit's Oo La Lift is a great pre concealer regime.

I already raved about Maybelline's FIT Me Foundation so that's up next, and then my concealer. I've been taking a break from Erase Paste and have been sticking with the quick and simple Maybelline Age Rewind. It's too easy to not love.

A translucent powder has made it's way into my beauty box; I love setting my under eye concealer with Revlon's Photo Ready pressed translucent powder. It makes everything smooth and pretty.

Next up is my bronzer; I've gone back to my beloved Rimmel London matte bronzer; I'm going to need a new one soon since I could see the bottom of the pan on mine. It gives the perfect glow with no shimmer added. I've also been loving my NYX blush in Angel. It's not too powdery, it almost has a cream like base and it's not too pink--the perfect Fall transition color.

I keep my eyes simple during the day; just some Eyeko liquid liner with a felt tip pen (sometimes I use olive instead of black) and some Pixi mascara.

I've started filling in my brows (not shown here but I use Flower Beauty Eyebrow Pencil) and set them with the Anastasia Brow Gel which works like glue.

After all that, I'm good to go and my make-up usually lasts throughout the day with no primer. In between I will powder up with my Maybelline Dream Matte pressed powder to soak up the sweat and oil.

I'm sure once the weather gets a lot cooler and I find new products my routine will switch again!

August Ipsy Glam Bag

Sorry for being MIA yesterday; it's been a tough first week of classes.

This is a very late post but my editorial calendar for the blog has been jam packed.

Earlier this month I received my last Ipsy Glam Bag; after some much needed cutting back on my spending habits, Ipsy and Birchbox both lost. If I do renew one of these subscription boxes down the line, it will be Birchbox--I just enjoy it better.

But, my last Ipsy bag was a great one! It was a "Glamour Academy" themed bag and I think this might've been by favorite little bag yet.





Purple and gold are one of my favorite color combinations and I love the little Ipsy insignia that this one displayed.

1. Michael Todd Charcoal Scrub



The first product I received was a Michael Todd Charcoal Scrub. I used it for the first time last week and it was strange. It wasn't a cleanser as I previously thought it was; you just rubbed the scrub into your skin AFTER you used your regular cleanser. It made my skin feel dirty but I did notice a slight difference in the morning when I woke up. I'll have to try it again. I was happy with the size of this; it wasn't a foil packet but a hearty sample size which is always nice.

2. Chella Eyebrow Pencil


I've received another Chella product a few months back, a Chella highlighter pencil. This month another Chella pencil made it's way into my Ipsy bag; the brown eyebrow pencil is a little thin for my liking and I'm just learning how to properly tame my eyebrows but it's a great quality pencil that has been working good! This was the only full size sample in my bag as these eye pencils usually are.

3. Mica Eyeshadow in Bronze


I have yet to use this bronze eyeshadow because with the hot weather, I haven't used much eyeshadow. Also these loose powders scare me and I never really use them too much because they sometimes are too pigmented and they are so messy. With the cooler weather approaching, I will definitely get back into the swing of things and use eyeshadow more regularly and this will be first on my list. This was a tiny sample but I definitely think it'll be enough to use and see if I like. 

4. Pixi Lash Booster Mascara



Another product in my bag that I haven't used yet; the brush is ultra thick and it seems like great formula so I'm excited to try this out. With unpacking and getting settled in my room, I keep forgetting I have these awesome beauty products! This was a typical sample size mascara, not too big but enough that it could give you a month or so use. 

5. Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick





My goodness, I was so thrilled when I found that this would be in my Ipsy bag. I love Urban Decay and was so excited to try out this new lipstick collection. It was a very tiny, tiny sample but I didn't care! The shade I got was very pink and very pigmented, not sheer in the slightest. It may even be a little too pink for me but the formula is wonderful; it's smooth and moisturizing and not sticky. I will definitely be using this more, even if the color is a bit strong!

Ipsy will be missed but this was one heck of a way to go out!
