EDIT *When I first published this Thursday morning, I had no idea I wrote '2018' so that's where my head is at

I keep seeing memes on Instagram saying "It feels like January 74th" and boy, does it ever! I don't think I ever noticed how long January actually is but it feels like New Year's Eve was 4 months ago. I am thankful for the long month... I hate when time flies by and when I feel like I don't have time to do anything.

January was so good! I decided on my resolutions, got myself organized, saw a lot of my friends and just really enjoyed it. I only hope the rest of 2019 can be this good.

My Favorites

Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo

I was so upset when I learned that my beloved Nirvana Black Dry Shampoo was being discontinued. It has been my holy grail dry shampoo for a few years and now it's being taken away from me. I needed a new one and while searching Sephora, I realized that I have never purchased a full size of the Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo. Amika is one of my favorite haircare brands and I've loved everything I'vet tried from them. Their dry shampoo smells AMAZING, doesn't leave my hair with build up and really absorbs the oils without leaving a huge white cast. It is so good and everyone in my family has been loving it.

Sarah Happ Sweet Clay Lip Mask & Dream Slip

I love a good lip scrub and my favorite recently has been from Sara Happ. I purchased it last year and haven't even looked at another lip scrub. I was listening to her interview on The Influencer Podcast and had no idea that she INVENTED lip scrubs! Before her, they didn't exist in the realm of buying them at Sephora, Ulta, or CVS. I thought that was so cool and it made me love her for it. Then she started talking about her other products and the way she spoke about the Sweet Clay Lip Mask and the Dream Slip, I fell in love with her words. I went home and purchased this duo from QVC.

These have been an incredible lifesaver this winter and I'm so thankful. I apply the Sweet Clay Lip Mask about twice a week, let it sit for 10-20 minutes and wipe it off. I follow up with the Dream Slip, a night cream for your lips and I wake up feeling like my lips got their beauty sleep. Both products are rich, emollient and really sink into your lips to help heal them, not just take care of the dryness for a night.

Airpods

I thought the Apple Airpods were the dumbest thing ever. They looked silly when you wore them and I wondered what happened if one of them fell out and you didn't realize it? I couldn't wrap my head around them. Then, something happened earlier this month... I suddenly found myself lusting after them and I wasn't sure why. The more I thought about how the Airpods could change my life, the more I found myself being drawn to them in a way I haven't felt in a while. When I couldn't take it anymore, I decided to run to Target and buy them but silly me, they were out of stock. I ended up going home and buying them on Best Buy and paid $6 for overnight shipping. They were in my hands the next day and I have never loved a piece of technology so much.

Airpods are AMAZING! They have changed how I listen to everything on my phone. My headphones don't get tangled in my hair, earrings or jacket on the train. I can listen to podcasts at work without having to be plugged into my phone, therefore I can charge it at the same time. I even have them in when I'm vacuuming, therefore, the tedious chore goes by much faster. Not having to be connected to my phone to enjoy some audio is incredible; I feel like I have so much more freedom! If you've been on the fence, I recommend looking into them. I was a total hater and now I can't imagine doing anything without them!

Kate Spade Pearl Hoops

I am not a hoops kind of girl. I was when I was 12 but not anymore. I only started wearing earrings a few years ago and wear only small studs. However, my pearl obsession has made me into someone I don't know. When I saw these pearl hoops, I immediately added them to my wishlist. I wanted them more than anything and my mom bought them for me for Christmas. When I opened them on Christmas morning, I was shocked at how big they were! They are not me but I wanted them so I tried them on and didn't hate them. My mom and aunt said they looked good and I decided to keep them. Well, I've been loving them! I find any excuse to wear them, they make any outfit so much more dressy and I'm so happy to have a beautiful pair of hoop earrings in my collection.

What did you love this month?

I'm always in search of a better product; to me, I am never satisified with the beauty products I have. Do not get me wrong, I have my favorites and items that blow me away, but I know there are always new things that are being released and I just assume they're better than what I have... which is why I'm always buying new products.

While I have holy grail foundations, concealers, etc, there is one beauty product that I'm just not convinced that I've found the right one.

That item is Dry Shampoo.

I've tried really good dry shampoos and really bad ones. I've used dry shampoo for months, been pleased, and then one day it just feels like it's not working anymore. I've used dry shampoos that I know are bad right off the bat.

While I do have my favorites, I'm always searching for the next best thing.

That's why I was so excited to receive a Dry Shampoo VoxBox from Influenster. I received the Nexxus Dry Shampoo Refreshing Mist; I LOVE Nexxus because they're sold in the drugstore but have that high end feel; even though the products do come with a higher price tag, I am more drawn to these products.

I had a feeling that I would really enjoy this dry shampoo & so far, I was right.

The mist is very fine so I feel like I have more control over how much product I'm putting into my hair. I never go crazy with the dry shampoo because my scalp is very sensitive and I don't like too much product build up.

Nexxus claims that it removes oils from your roots without leaving visible residue, which I can attest for. It's completely invisible and not heavy at all on your hair. Sometimes I can feel the dry shampoo minutes after I put it in my hair, or when I touch my hair, it feels greasy.

This Nexxus one does not do any of that .

It also smells like a Bath and Body Works candle without being overpowering and I'm kind of obsessed.

As for right now, I really like this dry shampoo and I think I will be repurchasing after this HUGE bottle is done. I would also say this is better than some high end dry shampoos I've tried!

What is your current favorite dry shampoo?

Is this my favorite Birchbox ever? Yeah I think so!

This month I opted for the curated box which was put together by Rent the Runway(a company I truly love) and I could not be happier.

I love seeing what's in the curated boxes (if you don't know, Birchbox, every month features a "special curated box" that has a special guest editor that you can opt to choose instead of your regular box. The difference is that you know exactly what comes in the curated box) and I really loved what I saw in this box and wanted to try the samples so I opted for this one.

Once I saw people receiving their boxes, I got even more excited because the size of the samples looked awesome and I loved the design of the box. It has to be the most beautiful box I've ever seen. Light pink, flowers, and the Rent the Runway & Birchbox logo... it's just so feminine and pretty.

When I received the box and opened it, I don't think I've ever been more excited. I was just so happy! Even though I already knew what samples I was getting, I was still super stoked.

As an added bonus, RTR gave all Birchbox subscribers $30 off a $75 rental. I will surely be trying to use that!

Let's see what was inside my February Birchbox, shall we?

derma e Anti-Wrinkle Vitamin A Glycolic Scrub: I haven't gotten into anti aging products yet but I love a good scrub. This is just as good as I thought it'd be. My skin feels super soft, clean, and totally clear of any dirt. After I use this, my face almost feels as soft as it does when I use my Clarisonic. It's a fabulous exfoliator.

Full Size: $12.95
Sample Size: 4/5

Fekkai Blowout Hair Refresher Dry Shampoo: Give me all the dry shampoo, PLEASE. I always see to get one in my Birchbox when my other bottle runs out. It has such a fine mist, which I adore because it doesn't come out too hard, and the smell is awesome—one of the best smelling dry shampoos I've ever used. It seems to work really good so I'm excited.

Full size: $10-20
Sample Size: 5/5

Not Soap, Radio Body Wash-The Stuff that Cupid dips his arrow in: Can we talk about that name? Perfect for Valentines Day but my goodness it's long. I was excited about this but the smell isn't all that fragrant and doesn't really do anything for me but it's a body wash so how bad could it really be?

Full size: $16
Sample Size: 4/5

Sumita Color Contrast Eyeliner: THIS IS THE BEST EYELINER EVER. Holy crap. It came in navy blue and it looks so beautiful on the lid. It's not too blue that you look silly wearing it but not too dark that it looks black. It's super creamy, smooth, and blends really well. I'm obsessed and so is my mom...so obsessed that she made me order two full size eyeliners, one for me in the navy (and she took my sample) and one for her in plum. I've been wanting to experiment with colored eyeliners and these are just awesome.

Full size $11
Sample Size: 4/5

Sumita Eyeliner on top; theBalm Read My Lips on bottom
theBalm Read my Lips: I think I may have been most excited for this product. I've been really getting into lip products lately but haven't really ventured to see what lip glosses there are on the market. I'm not a huge lip gloss lover but this is different. It's very opaque and gives the nicest pink/coral color to your lips without being overly shiny. My favorite part is how long it lasts on my lips and how NOT STICKY it is. Sticky lipgloss is the worst but this one is awesome.

Full size: $15
Sample Size: 4/5

This Birchbox hit it out of the park and I could not be happier!

What'd you get in your Birchbox this month?

Another month, another Birchbox and this month was pretty good. Honestly, I always love my Birchbox. There's always at least one item I've been wanting to try or I've been wanting something similar. I don't understand people who constantly complain about subscription boxes—like it's $10 a month, chill out.

Anyways......

Birchbox started doing this thing where they let you pick one of the samples in your box every month, that way you can get something you really want. Or you could just leave your box as is and be totally surprised.

I had missed the boat on the deadline for the October box so I was really excited to see the November choices. There were a few items that I could've liked but instead, I chose the Buzzfeed Life Curated box. That was an option—instead of your regular box, you could opt for this special box created by the Buzzfeed Life team.

The items were listed on the website so you knew what was in the box before you received it and honestly, all these products were ones I have been eyeing up for months so I thought mind as well get that one!

I am not disappointed and quite excited for this!

Let's see, shall we?

Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo: Everyone all over the internet has been raving about this dry shampoo so I'm really excited I finally get to try it. The sample size is quite generous, a usual travel sized dry shampoo bottle so that's awesome. It smells incredible—it has Sea Buckthorn and I just love the way that smells. Dry shampoo is tricky to get right but I think Amika has hit it on the head. I don't have any white residue in my hair after application, it smells great, and honestly really does soak up all the oil and makes my hair feel, look, and smell fresh. I will definitely be repurchasing this once the sample runs out. I may even like it more than my other favorite dry shampoo.

Sample Size: 5/5
Full Size: $21

Dr. Jart+ Pore Minimalist Mask: This is another product I have seen EVERYWHERE. Dr. Jart's is also a brand I have been seeing everywhere in the Birchbox universe and with my skin issues lately, I really wanted to try this mask. This is a Korean mask that is "soaked in charcoal serum to clear and smooth skin." It is also supposed to help the appearance of pores and it's a scary black color. As I write this, I haven't tried it yet but I've heard so many good things about it, I'm sure it'll be great. It'll also be hard to distinguish if it really works because it's a one time use mask.

Sample Size: 5/5 (even though I wish it wasn't single use, it is how the masks are sold)
Full Size: $35

Dr. Lipp Original Nipple Balm for Lips: Once again, another product people go crazy for. It's something I've been wanting to try (see what I meant by I wanted to try every single product for a long time) and it definitely lives up to the hype. It's a thick gel, think vaseline but thicker (kind of like Aquaphor or Carmex). My lips have been super chapped lately and this has helped them feel moisturized and smooth. I use this right before bed and my lips feel awesome in the morning. The sample size is super disappointing as there is hardly any product in the tube but I'll probably get the full size because it's not super expensive.

Sample Size: 1/5
Full size: $14.50

Greenleaf Signature Candle in Silver Spruce: I've been obsessed with candles lately and it was a major selling point for the Buzzfeed box. It's a tiny little candle and doesn't give off a super strong smell but it's so so nice. It smells like Christmas trees and a fresh, winter smell and it has been getting me in the holiday spirit. I'm obsessed.

Sample Size: 3/5
Full size: $17 (not bad for a candle)

Mirenesse iCurl Secret Weapon 24hr Mascara: The selling point of this mascara is that it's like an eyelash curler and mascara in one. The wand is in the shape of your eyelash, a U shaped, which makes for easy, awesome application. Does it last 24 hours? Probably not but OHMYGOD. It lengthens, separates, and really does look like all you did was curl your lashes with the best eye lash curler in the universe. The mascara dries really quickly, almost as soon as it touches your lash but the true star here is the brush. As soon as I applied, my mouth dropped and I was stunned at my lashes. Incredible and I'm saving up my Birchbox points for this bad boy.

Sample Size: 3/5
Full size: $35.96
