Becca is a newer brand on the beauty scene.. if 2001 is newer to you, but it really flourished back in 2014/2015 if I do say so myself.

It was a brand that was known for their highlighters, most noteworthy Opal. They've since branched out with other products but in their heart of hearts, I think they always stay true to their heritage as a highlight brand. They are always releasing new highlighters in limited edition colors and designs, and combining different highlighter colors to make a new one.

What I'm saying is that Becca Cosmetics has a lot of highlighters and pretty much have something for everyone, but they do have other great non highlighter products too.

I've been using Becca since 2015 and have used a lot of their products so I figured it was time for a Brand Buzz and time to give you my favorite products.



1. Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed in Champagne Pop: Opal is no longer the most famous highlighter in the universe; it was overtaken when Jaclyn Hill teamed up with Becca and released this gorgeous golden Champagne highlighter. It is by far my favorite highlighter and I have it in 4 separate forms (the original compact, the Jaclyn Hill Face Palette, the poured version, and the Slimlight. It is a gorgeous champagne gold that looks good on everyone. The formula is creamy and smooth but applies really nicely. It's just a great shade and I recommend everyone buying it.

2. Shimmering Skin Perfector Poured in Champagne Pop: I love cream products so when my favorite Becca shade was released in their cream formula, I jumped on it. It's the best cream highlighter formula I've ever tried because it's not too powerful in pigment but still packs a punch. It's also very easy to apply whether with a duo-fiber brush or your fingers. I love, love, LOVE this shade in the cream highlighter version.

3. Mineral Blush in Wild Honey: I love nothing more than a warm, neutral blush and Wild Honey is THAT perfect color. The formula is super soft, pigmented but not too pigmented so it doesn't get messy. It applies perfectly and smoothly on the skin and blends out really well too. This is a blush that I go with whenever I don't know which blush to wear and it always comes through.

4. Aqua Luminous Foundation: This is the only foundation I've ever really finished and I was just reminded at how much I loved it when I sat down to write this post. It's a very watery, liquid based foundation so it feels so good and light on the skin. From what I remember it's a medium coverage and blended out really well with a beautyblender. I also liked that it was a luminous foundation because my dry skin responded very well to it.

5. First Light Priming Filter: I don't know if I've ever loved a primer this much. I used it a lot when I first got it but then like most of us, I got bored but rediscovered it recently. I've been religiously using it for the past month and my goodness, I forgot why I loved it so much. It is one of the few primers that makes my makeup look really good all day long. Everything blends out really smoothly and evenly over it and I just LOVE IT. I highly recommend getting this over the original primer and Sephora has it in a mini size.




Honorable Mention: I LOVE my Jaclyn Hill face palette & eyeshadow palette (I was one of the few that had a good batch of shadow palettes and opted to keep it) but you can't get either of them anymore but I wanted to mention!




Also, I've been loving the Apres Ski Glow palette they just released for the holidays! I highly recommend getting this palette this season.

Jaclyn Hill is QUEEN. I love her so much and I think she is the best beauty guru on Youtube. That being said, this post may be SLIGHTLY biased, but to each his own.

Last summer, Jaclyn released, in collaboration, with Becca Cosmetics, a highlighter called Champagne Pop. It took over the beauty industry and put Becca on the map. It's a gorgeous Champagne, beige color that works on so many skin tones. I am confident in saying that Champagne Pop is my favorite highlight to date.

The texture of Becca's highlights are super smooth, easy to apply & blend, and just make your cheekbones pop. I am obsessed.

Champagne Pop was supposed to be limited edition but because it made such a splash, Becca made it permanent and I am so relieved to hear that, because I was so nervous I'd run out or my compact would break and I would never be able to get it again.

Back in December, Becca also released a limited edition holiday palette that had Champagne Pop, Pearl, and Blushed Copper -- all highlighters that soon became permanent. I got my hands on that too, because I can never have too much Champagne Pop.

That's why, when I heard that Jaclyn & Becca were teaming up AGAIN for a release this spring, I nearly lost it.

You can imagine my excitement when I found out it was a whole collection being released, which included a face palette, eye palette *which is no longer being sold due to quality issues*, and the poured creme & liquid versions of Champagne Pop.

I have yet to purchase the liquid & poured versions of the highlight but rest assured that I 100% will at some point. Both of these items are permanent so there is no rush!

However, there is a rush for the Limited Edition Face Palette which hits all Sephora stores on June 16th and should be back online that day as well.




I got my Face Palette when it was released in limited quantities during the Becca release party back in May and my goodness, I am in love.

Even though I've been addicted to cream products, I make an exception for this palette. It comes in this gorgeous gold & white packaging that feels light & heavy at the same time, but always feels luxurious & expensive.

It comes with 5 products; Champagne Pop, Prosecco Pop, Rose Spritz, Amaretto, and Pamplemousse.



Jaclyn created ALL of these shades and if you know her, and watch her videos, you can tell that this palette is HER. Prosecco Pop is a new highlighter shade that is a little more golden that Champagne Pop and it's utterly gorgeous.

There are three blushes with three different finishes: Rose Spritz is a Luminous Blush that has a lot of shimmer to it but is beautiful blended out on the cheeks. Amaretto is a neutral, bronzed colored blush that will look fabulous on everyone. Oh and it's also matte!

Pamplemousse is a very pink, bright satin blush that you can certainly make work, whether you like bright colors or not.

I've used all the colors in this palette and I do think that Amaretto is my favorite. Prosecco Pop is also a close second to my favorite highlight.

I'm really excited to get my hands on the liquid & poured versions because, well, this post speaks for itself.

I did plan to talk about the eyeshadow palette that was released with this collection because it's beautiful & I love it, but it was taken off the shelves last week. There were some quality issues with the palette and apparently Becca used a different lab to produce this palette, and there were complaints about the dryness of the shadows. Jaclyn asked for it to be removed and Becca agreed.

Being in the cosmetics industry, I know how difficult it is to get a product right & I respect Becca & Jaclyn for their decision.

Anywho... I HIGHLY recommend heading to your local Sephora to grab this LIMITED EDITON palette. Try it out, see if it's something you love & if not, return it. Do not let this moment pass you by because you will regret it. It will be in stores on June 16th!

I love being up to date on all the beauty trends... I love having the newest, hottest product that everyone can't stop talking about.

I blame Youtube and social media for creating so much hype around certain products but I have no will power. I love make-up too much!

I've been wanting to get a contour palette for a while now but didn't want to shell out the money and was unsure of which one to get. Every brand has them now and they're all so different, yet so similar.

The ones I were deciding between were the original, Anastasia Beverly Hills, and the Kat Von D Shade & Light Palette. From the title of this blog post, you could guess which one I got.

After watching this review, from one of my favorite gurus, Nicole Guerriero, comparing the two palettes, I decided that eventually I'd buy the Kat Von D one. Her reasoning was that the powders are easier to blend, and more pigmented and not as dry as the Anastasia one. I was immediately sold.

I wasn't expecting to buy it so soon but one afternoon, my friend & I were day drinking on my balcony and I got a little tipsy off some Pink Moscato. My sister came and joined us and we started talking about contour palettes and she convinced me to buy it, and she'd give me half the money.

So yes, I drunk bought the palette on a whim so thanks Danielle.

I've had it for a little over a month and I've loved playing around with it. It was definitely worth the $46 price tag.

The palette comes with 6 powders: 3 highlight shades and 3 bronzer/contour shades. All the powders are matte, meaning they don't have any shimmer or sheen to them.

That is the key to contouring...matte powders that create a defined shadow. The point of contouring is to make your face look as if you have natural shadows, making certain features look more defined than others. The key to this, aside from matte powders is a cool tone contour powder. No orange, no bronze, almost like a mix of grey, beige, and brown.




The Kat Von D palette does that beautifully. It has three contour shades that could match any skin tone and they would all create a perfect, defined shadow.

I use the shade Sombre as my contour because I'm a little on the fair side and in my opinion its the most cool tone of the three.

When I contour, I don't go crazy. I really just contour my cheek bones. To do this, I make the infamous fishy face, and take a brush (I love the Real Techniques Contour Brush), dip it in the powder, and brush back and forth, until I can see a noticeable difference.

Contour Shades

Contouring really does make a difference, and I don't do it every day. I only do it when I'm going out at night, or for special occasions. My face instantly looks skinnier, more defined, and put together. My mom looks at me when I contour and is shocked at the results... and I'm not even that good.

Contouring is NOT hard, I promise you. If I could do it, you can. Just watch some Youtube videos and you're good to go!

Highlighting on the other hand, is something I do every day. I usually go for a more shimmery, stand out highlight, but these powders are great for those days when you want something more subtle. It also sets your concealer like a dream.

Highlight Shades

I use the shade Lyric, which is a yellow toned powder, to set my under eye concealer and it makes the area very bright and prevents creasing. I sometimes mix that with Lucid, the pinkish shade, and it creates an even deeper brightening effect.

When I want a really defined, dramatic contour, I'll take Levitation, the soft peach highlight shade, and highlighter right under the contour of my cheek bone. This allows the contour to stand out even more.

These powders are very pigmented and your brush picks up a lot of product, so you need to tap off the excess otherwise you'll wind up with a mess.

All in all, I'm kind of obsessed with this palette. It makes contouring easy because you have all the appropriate products in one neat little place. There's no guessing game with this, it's simple to use and there's a very slim chance you'll mess it up!

The price tag is a little steep but it's a great beginners palette. No fuss, no muss!

Colourpop is one years old as of last month and they came on the scene with their unique eyeshadows. They aren't a powder, they aren't a cream, no one can describe the texture and everyone makes sure you are enticed by the fact that it is indescribable.

People say it's a mousse like texture, you can touch it and your finger is imprinted into the shadow. Yet, it feels like a powder on your eye but has the staying power of a cream. It is very, very unique.

Colourpop then expanded with Lippie Stix & Lippie Pencils, lipsticks that came in a thin tube and matching lip liners. Then blushes, then bronzers, and now highlighters.

The company has grown exceptionally in the past year and since hearing about them late last year, I have been lusting after them.

Oh, did I mention the best part? The price range. Are you ready??

Eyeshadows, Lippie Stix & Lippie Pencils are $5 each--YES FIVE DOLLARS! Blushes, bronzers, and highlighters are $8. The face products are also bigger than the eyeshadows, hence the increase in price. You must pay for shipping but if you spend $30, shipping is free. That is pretty reasonable in my opinion.

I have always put off ordering from Colourpop because I don't use individual eyeshadows. I go through phases where I won't even wear eyeshadow, for weeks on end, so I was skeptical.

Then, my favorite YouTube beauty guru, Kathleen Lights came out with her own eyeshadow quad (she already has a Lippie Stix in Lumiere) and I knew that would be my first purchase.

Over Memorial Day weekend, I saw that Colourpop was having a special where with any purchase, you received their Birthday Girl eyeshadow for FREE & it was in hot pink packaging. I also found a coupon code for 20% off (it could've been 10% but I don't remember) so I thought now is just a great time to do it. I bought the Where the Light Is quad, the Smokes N Whistles Highlighter, and got the Birthday Girl eyeshadow for free!

The order took a little while to get here since they were backed up because of their birthday/anniversary special but it was well worth the wait. Actually, the day I got my shipping email, I received it in the mail, but I don't think Colourpop usually takes that long.



I was so excited to have these products in my hands, I was squealing with excitement and just so pumped to finally see and feel them in person.



The 'Where the Light Is' quad comes with four shades, two matte shades, one peralized finish and one metallic shades. I had watched her review of the quad when it was first released so I knew what to expect but I don't think I realized how shimmery these shadows were.

I tried on Birthday Girl, which is a metallic finish, and also tried on "Blaze" (from the palette), which is also a metallic, and they were very shimmery. They are much more suitable (for me at least) for a night out. I was however, obsessed with the matte shade in Cornelius (named after Kathleen's dog--how precious!). It's perfect to just throw in your crease with a fluffy blending brush and be on your way--which is what I did all last week.

"Birthday Girl"

The texture is in fact, very hard to explain, and feels just as everyone else described it. They are very long lasting which is always a plus.

The best way for me, to apply the shimmery shades, is with my finger. If you have a dense, shader eyeshadow brush that packs on color like a pro, go ahead and use that but fingers are just fine!

The highlighter is a dream. After much research, I decided to go with the white, shimmer that is Smokes N Whistles. It packs a serious punch and gives an intense glow to the skin. I'm kind of obsessed and haven't been using any other highlighter all week.

The face products also have the same texture as the eyeshadows. All of Colourpop's products are incredible smooth, soft, and pigmented. I was stunned at the color payoff when I swatched them.

I'm already looking to place another order, to try out the Lippie Stix, bronzers, and blushes. I also want more matte shadows because I could always use a good matte color.

Needless to say, I have found love with Colourpop and I think they are the bomb dot com!
