I have gotten so many new nail polishes in the past few weeks and I just feel the need to use and share all of them.

The After Christmas sales really got to me a few weeks ago and while I was browsing the Interweb, I saw that Julep, a brand I have tried but not fully, was having a really ridiculous sale. From my memory, it was around 60-70% off. They had a lot of products on sale, and one of them was a mystery box of 10 nail polishes. It was only $20 so I jumped on that bandwagon really fast.

I loved the idea that I didn't know what shades I was going to get and couldn't wait to dig in when the package arrived on my doorstep.

When I received my order, I noticed there were a lot of glitter topcoats which I'm totally fine with. I love adding glitter to any nail look because it adds a little something extra. I knew I immediately wanted to experiment with the different glitters and the other darker colors in my new Julep collection.

I was immediately attracted to the purple polish, "Joanne" and the gold glitter topcoat, "Sharna".

Excuse the few chips :(
Both polishes applied really smooth, clean, and neat. Two coats made the purple super opaque and the glitter applied in even coats, not patchy at all.

Julep polishes have a great reputation and I've tried a few in the past but now I think I'm really convinced that they're fabulous quality.

PS: Since we're talking about glitter polishes, I need to mention the best glitter (and regular) nail polish remover I have ever tried. Sephora's Instant Nail Polish Remover takes away the glitter and regular nail polish without even trying.

What is on your nails this Monday?

I am not a huge lover of summer because I really dislike the heat; the one saving grace of the warm summer months is the colorful nail polish trends that come into play.

I love the bright pinks and neon blues that are fully appropriate to wear. I've been taking full advantage of this and enjoying every second.

This week I decided to take a break from the really bright colors and try out my new Zoya polish that I received in my May Ipsy Bag.

I never tried Zoya polish but always wanted too. The color I received in my Ipsy bag is called 'Gie Gie' and is a light pink.

The pink has a bit of a frost to it when you apply it to your nails which is a nice change from the opaque polishes I'm used too.

The formula is okay, you needed two-three coats to have the polish really show up. The picture doesn't do the polish justice, it's very light in the photo. I liked the Zoya polish, not better than Essie but it was still pretty great.

Along with the Zoya polish I used my Orly Top2Bottom as a top coat and my Julep Maven Quick Dry Drops. Both these nail products are essential in my manicure and are great products that
help keep the manicure dry quickly and minimal chippage.

I mentioned a few months ago that I received my first Julep Maven box--after that I cancelled my subscription because honestly, I just can't afford it.

I do love their products and that's why I grabbed at the chance to buy a few things on Black Friday.

Everything was cheap, with free shipping, and additional add ons. I couldn't resist!

For $20 I got two polishes and the Julep Quick Dry Drops (which are pure magic!)

The two polishes I got were "Hailee" which is a green, sparkly, matte polish and "Whitney", a brown/beige color.

I've been searching high and low for the perfect beige that doesn't have a grey tint to it and Whitney is my perfect match!

I painted my nails last week with "Hailee" and was in love with it. The matte finish really shows and is so different from any other polish out there. Two coats is all you need and the sparkle green color is great for the winter.

The one complaint I had was that "Hailee" didn't stay on too long; it began to fade the day after I polished my nails. When I put another coat on, it chipped the day after again. But honestly, isn't that all polishes? I still love it!

"Whitney" is a completely different story! I've had it on my nails since last Monday and they haven't chipped yet! I am in pure shock at how strong the formula is. I think I applied three coats, a top coat, and then the Quick Dry Drops but still, they have maintained their color and shine. I'm in love!

The Quick Dry Drops are seriously magic. I have never in my life used a product like this one and I'm pretty sure I will buy it for the rest of my life. I almost don't want to tell anyone because I want to keep the secret to myself.
With one drop a minute after the final polish application, your nails are instantly dry. You would think I'm lying but I am surely not. They really do dry instantly. I can't even believe a product like this finally exists!

All in all, Julep Maven has an amazing line of great formula polishes and a bunch of other great nail/beauty products.

It's a wonderful company that I will continue to buy products from.

Happy Manicure Monday !

I am an avid online shopper so it's only natural that I would be saving up money for the two biggest shopping days of the year; Black Friday and Cyber Monday.

I couldn't wait to crack my bank account open and go to town with all the fabulous deals that were being featured over the Thanksgiving weekend.

I ordered a bunch of stuff...some for myself, some as Christmas presents for others, and I already received some of them!

I got this Madewell iPHONE case for $9 when the usual price was $18.
I'm pretty sure I had free shipping also!

I've had my eye on this Kate Spade Nook case for quite a while. It was featured on Barnes and Noble.com for the longest time for the cheap price of $14; on Black Friday and a B&N coupon, I got the regularly priced $30 case for just $10 (SCORE!)

I have wanted something from J.Crew for months now and I have also been dying for a new sweater. J.Crew Factory was having an incredible sale and I got this Merino Classic Crewneck Pullover for $30 when it's usually $70. OMG. I'm wearing it on this chilly November afternoon and I've never been more comfortable. It's the softest sweater I own and I kind of want one in every single color!

I got some other great goodies such as some Julep Maven nail polish, a bunch of stuff from Forever 21, and a brand new Maybook!

I also bought some gifts for my friends and my mom.

I love this time of year and it's so great to buy things for yourself but also for others who do so much for you year round!

Hopefully you all took advantage of the holiday shopping spree and bought some great stuff too :)

Julep Maven

I've said it before and I'll say it again, I have an obsession with nail polish.

I have also discovered my love for monthly beauty boxes, such as Birchbox.

Now I can combine my two loves when I stumbled upon Julep Maven; a monthly beauty box where you sign up for $19.99 a month and receive two nail polishes among a few other goodies.

When you initially sign up, you take a quiz which determines which kind of maven you are. I got "American Beauty" and in my "intro box", I received two lovely shades of polish with a pedi creme.

The colors I received were "Eva" which is a beautiful raspberry color, similar to "Watermelon" by Essie, and "Renee", a lavender color.

I've been searching high and low for the perfect Lavender nail polish and I found it; it's amazing!

The quality of the polish is truly wonderful; it goes on smooth and I've noticed that chipping is to a minimum, which is something very hard to come by.

I really like this company and can't wait to get my next box!
