I've been really good at not buying makeup recently. I feel like I'm finally past that point in my life when I need to buy something from Sephora every single day. I've been buying different items (LOL) so my shopping has decreased but has also been placed elsewhere.

Even though I'm not shopping AS MUCH, there are still some things I had to have in the past few months. A lot of beauty releases are coming (like this highlighter palette from ABH) and I know I'll be adding more to my collection soon.

1. Nars Velvet Lip Glide: This was a lip product that I've been looking at since Nars released them. I chose the shade 'Bound' because it's that classic mauve, nude shade and it looks gorgeous on. These can be classified as liquid lipsticks but they are much more comfortable and don't really dry down to a true matte finish, which is really nice and different from the others out there.

2. Nars Lipgloss in Chelsea Girls: I've been experimenting with gloss a lot more and I'm so happy that I pulled the plug on this baby. I've seen Youtubers raving about Nars glosses for years and when Chelsea Girls was re-released recently, even more people were freaking out over it. When I was buying the Nars Velvet Lip Glide, I said "eff it" and bought this too. OMG It's the most beautiful gloss ever. It's not sticky or goopy, it glides easily onto your lips and Chelsea Girls is a perfect nude pink shade for every day. I cannot get enough of this gloss and I want more!

3. Laura Mercier Translucent Powder: I was going to buy this and it ended up in my Sephora cart too many times. When I received an email from Influenster that I was in this VoxBox I screamed! I got this powder completely free from Influenster along with the large powder puff and I'm obsessed. There is a reason that this powder is everyone's holy grail. It's super lightweight and sets your makeup beautifully without any cake or added coverage.

4. Winky Lux Lipsticks: I was at the WWD Beauty Summit a few weeks ago for work and the founder/CEO of Winky Lux was there. As she spoke, I was so inspired by the story and so amazed by the packaging/different products that I needed to buy one. I already had one in my collection that I had yet to use but I ordered the Betches x Winky Lux collection that came with 2 different lipsticks. They're shaped like pills and I kind of really love that. I've only worn one of these (Crazy Pill from the Betches collection) and it was a little thick and patchy but very long-lasting. I'll have to try the lighter colors and see what they feel like.

5. It Cosmetics Confidence in a Compact Serum Foundation: I'm not a huge fan of It Cosmetics because I feel like their products just haven't worked for me. I was, however, totally intrigued by their new foundation. It's a solid foundation in what looks like a cushion compact and is infused with a serum, making it good for your skin. It's very hydrating and easily blendable, giving you medium coverage. It's been my new favorite foundation this month and definitely worth picking up!

Is this a surprise? Not at all! I never stop buying beauty products, it's a problem but I'm addicted. I consider it my hobby so I use that to justify it.

Hey, I could be spending my money in a lot worst way.

Over the past month or so, I've collected a lot of beauty products, all of which I've been loving, and I want to tell you alllllllll about them.

  • Loreal Cushion Foundation: The moment I heard that L'oreal was coming out with a cushion foundation, I was patiently awaiting it's arrival. I've always wanted to try a cushion foundation and I couldn't wait to try the cheaper alternative. I saw it on Ulta's website and didn't wait a second before ordering it. I've fallen in love and it's become an easy, go to foundation for me. I apply it with the sponge it comes with and pat it into my skin. It leaves a nice coverage -- I'd say it's light to medium coverage and it gives a dewy, luminous finish. It's comfortable to wear and makes my skin look really great.
  • Makeup Forever Ultra HD Concealer: When I saw all the reviews on this concealer, I knew I had to have it. I've never tried anything from Makeup Forever so I figured a concealer was a good start. It's light weight but very pigmented -- therefore, a little goes a long way. It takes a little to blend and I like using a beautyblender to apply it but my goodness, the coverage is incredible. It brightens my under-eye area (I have the shade Y23) and leaves the area flawless. It's beautiful, unlike anything else. I know I talked about my Urban Decay concealer yesterday, and these two have been the only concealers I've been using.
  • Too Faced Natural Matte Palette: I was in the market for a new all matte palette and I knew it was going to be this one. Too Faced has the best eyeshadows and their mattes are no expectation. They're smooth, buttery, and very pigmented. They blend together so well and the palette has the best neutrals I've ever seen. I usually wear it when I'm running errands or didn't wake up for work in time. If you're in need of a good matte palette, or just a beginner palette, I highly recommend this one.
  • Carli Bybel Eyeshadow Palette from bH Cosmetics: I will always support beauty bloggers but Carli is one of my favorites so I knew I needed to get her eyeshadow palette, which comes with 10 eyeshadows, 4 huge pans of highlighter and it's only $12.50. The pigmentation is awesome and they blend really well. The shimmers are really fabulous and show up great on the eyes. I don't reach for this palette nearly enough, but I really need to start using it more.
  • Maybelline Master Prime Eye Primer: Maybelline (along with every other drugstore brand) released new products this month and I was in need of a new eye primer. This one from Maybelline has exceeded expectations. Eye primers from the drugstore are not my cup of tea but this one is pretty awesome. I got the smoothing base and it isn't tacky, but actually smoothing. Because of this I didn't think it would hold onto eyeshadow as well but boy was I wrong. It makes all my eyeshadows look super intense and they stay on ALL DAY. I've never had that happen before so this is a new favorite, for sure.
I'll have another haul post + reviews in a week or so because I have that much more but these have been some of my recent favorites!

What have you picked up in the beauty world recently?

After not buying *too much stuff for the past few months, the moment I got my first big girl paycheck, I did some damage.

I've since been doing damage and I need to stop. I have a post coming soon all about my shopping addicition because I am pretty sure it's a real problem I need help with. Maybe my mom has to control my finances? I don't know but something needs to be done.

UGH.

I just love things and I want all the things :(

#firstworldprobs #strugglecity

But yeah, I've been on a buying storm and some things I really needed, some things I definitely could've done without.

This is some stuff I bought a few weeks ago after I first got paid and I justified them in more ways than one. The beauty products are things I bought about a month ago but never blogged about because #bloggerfail.

IKEA Alex Drawers: Since working for a beauty brand, I have acculumated a massive amount of make-up. I feel like one of those Youtube vloggers that have a horrific amount of make-up. I already had a lot of make-up and have just gotten a stupid amount the past month. I didn't have a place to store everything and I'm psycho about space & organization so I needed something. I know every vlogger uses the Alex Drawers so I figured that was a great place to start. I put together the drawers BY MYSELF!!!!!!! over the course of two days. It was difficult and I screwed up some drawers but it turned out fine. UGH, I love them & I'll be doing a full post on them & how I organize my make-up.

BaubleBar Teardrop Cuff: I haven't purchased a BaubleBar piece in MONTHS and I knew I needed something new. I've been wearing one particular BaubleBar bracelet for the past few weeks and I knew I wanted something else. After having a cuff that I wore nonstop in my first & only Rocksbox, I knew I wanted a cuff. The Lighting Teardrop Cuff caught my eye and I just had to have it. It's so comfortable and light weight, you forget you're wearing it. I love wearing bracelets but I hate when I'm typing and they dangle against the keyboard. That's why a tight cuff is perfect for everyday wear.

Kate Spade Cedar Street MarietaOver the past few months, I haven't been using my big Kate Spade wallet, mostly to bring back and forth to work. I didn't see the point and it was weighing my bag down. I was using a coin purse my mom got me for Christmas but I wanted something a little more sophiscated. I wanted a nice little wallet that was light weight and portable. I decided on Kate Spade (because I don't buy anything else basically) and found this adorable little card holder. It's not really a wallet, it only has one compartment but it's amazing. I have been obsessed with it & I'm so glad I got it in red! It's so different from what I usually buy and I'm glad I stepped outside my comfort zone. It's easy to find in my bag and it's so light. It's amazing and I love the tininess of it.

Maybelline FIT ME Matte & Poreless Foundation: I was in need of another foundation and I really wanted to try this one or the Maybelline Dream Wonder Fluid Touch Liquid Foundation but it was $12 and I wasn't in the mood to shell out that money. I had heard people going insane over the Maybelline FIT ME Matte & Poreless Foundation. I had been curious so I decided to pick it up. It has quickly become one of my favorites. I got the shade 235 which probably is a tad dark for me but it'll be awesome in the summer when I'm tan. It's very liquidy but not too liquidy. It is medium-full coverage and I can see a noticeable difference in my skin when I wear it. It stays on pretty long too and it just makes my skin look fresh and flawless. It's not too matte, it seems to be a demi matte finish so it allows your skin to breath & doesn't look like you're wearing a mask. I'm addicted.

Milani Matte Lipstick in Orchid: When I saw this lipstick in the Milani display a few months back, I impulse bought it. I had been wanting to experiment with other lipsticks in bright, bold colors and I thought this would be a great place to start. I had seen a lot of reviews on these lipsticks and I already love Milani
lipsticks so I knew it would be good. Orchid is the hottest, Barbie pink I have ever seen and I was a little scared to wear it. I wore it to my sorority formal last month where I wore a white dress and it looked amazing. It's a great statement lip alternative to red and it's perfect for summer. I will definitely be wearing this more in the coming months, especially when I have a tan!

I feel like I've purchased some more things but I will feature them in more posts like this coming up. I like to keep things I've purchased around the same time in the same post--that's the type A in me!

What have you purchased recently? Tell me in the comments and help me not feel bad about my shopping addiction!
