It's been a long, rough and stressful week. It went by pretty fast but the days felt like they dragged on. I'm definitely looking forward to the weekend and some down time, even though I'm going to be swamped with homework/papers/studying.

Here are some of my favorite things this week that made everything a little easier and brighter.

1. Spring Break

Punta Cana is calling my name!! In just two weeks, I'll be on a plane headed to what will be the craziest, wildest and most fun experience of my four years of college. My sorority sisters, favorite fraternity men, and myself will be taking over Punta Cana and I can't wait to see what Spring Break has in store for us!!

2. 22 Things Only Second Semester Seniors Will Understand

There's less than three months till graduation and I'm really struggling with the idea of not being in college anymore. I have an anxiety attack at least once a day and it's just not fun when people are constantly asking me what I'm doing when I graduate. This post from The Huffington Post is pretty much spot on and down right hysterical. #Don'tMakeMeLeave

3. SCANDAL IS BACK!

Maybe the week went by so fast because I knew Olivia Pope was going to return to my TV screen on Thursday at 10pm. As I write this post, I haven't seen the episode yet by my goodness, I'm sure it'll make my week 100x better than it already was. To tide me over, I took this Buzzfeed quiz on which Scandal character I am. I got Mellie Grant and couldn't be happier! #FLOTUS

PS: Check out this hilarious video montage of Olivia Pope and her love of red wine:

4. TSM Columns

I've been huge on columns and articles this week and TSM has been killing it. Since they opened their new website, the columns they've been posting so many columns ranging in so many different topics. Everything seems much more relevant to sorority girls and less offensive. I've even submitted a column or two and I'm hoping they get published! I have a lot of ideas for columns so maybe you'll see me published soon!

5. Her Campus Community Moderators and Beta Testers:

Being part of the HerCampus Blogger Network has been such an amazing experience. I've gotten so many cool opportunities and they just keep rolling in! I was selected to be a Community Moderator and Beta Tester along with some of my other fabulous HCBN ladies. I'll be moderating the blogger facebook groups and helping out HC HQ with some blogger stuff. I'm SO excited to take things to the next level!!

What have been the highlights of your week?

I've been on my Pinterest game lately and I'm lusting over a lot of things that I want but simply cannot have, because I'm a broke college student. Here are some of my favorite things that I need(want).

Believe in Miracles

in , , , by RoyallyPink, 7:30 AM
Miracle is such a funny word. It's something that people throw around very casually in every day jargon. The word miracle doesn't really have a true meaning because no one truly knows what it means.

By definition, the word miracle is: a surprising and welcome event that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency.

Some people though, don't understand what witnessing a miracle entails, some don't believe in miracles at all. I assume most people don't believe in miracles because they are the work of the divine, whoever your divine is. If you don't believe in any type of god, your belief in miracles might be negated.

I am someone who truly believes in miracles. I've seen quite a few in my lifetime, and I'm only 21 years old. When someone is suddenly sick and they are deemed as someone who is not going to make it, I've seen that happen a few times too many.

I watched it happen this weekend. I witnessed the powers of a miracle, how something is so clearly defined and then, by some magic way, the course of life is suddenly changed.

The power of good thoughts, good vibes, love, and prayers can create something inhuman. I don't mean to stand on a soapbox but when weekends like this happen, it's just amazing how your mind can shift.

Having a miracle like this weekend happen really and truly puts things into perspective. It makes you appreciate the littlest things in life, it makes you thankful for everyone and everything around you because in a sudden instant, it can all be taken away. In an instant, life as you know it can flash before your eyes and it can change.

It's scary how things work, how timing is everything and how everything happens for a reason. Nothing is by chance, nothing is a coincidence. It's all fate and all about having faith.

Start off the week right, do something different and never take anything for granted. Appreciate life for every little moment it offers you.

Tuesday Inspiration

in , , by RoyallyPink, 7:30 AM

Happy Tuesday everyone! Take a moment today to open your eyes and realize what makes you truly happy. Forget everyone else, tune out the voices, and see what makes you smile. Then go out there and get it because no one has the ability to make you happy but yourself.

This is a sponsored post but all opinions are my own.

The semester is already in full swing but you might still be putting off buying your textbooks, I know I am. I refuse to spend money on a $200 textbook that I won't be able to sell for more than $50 once the semester is over. School bookstores are known for stealing your money and ripping you off when it comes to textbooks.

My school is notorious for making students purchase the school version of a textbook, that way we can't buy it off Amazon for half the price.

I discovered that mistake first semester of freshmen year when I spent over $300 on textbooks I never would even need. After that fatal disaster, I started to rent my textbooks.

Renting textbooks is beyond the smartest decision you can make throughout your four years of college.

One of the best websites I've ever used to rent textbooks is CampusBookRentals.com. They are relatively cheaper than other rental websites and are 40-90% cheaper than bookstores. With CampusBookRentals you're able to get free shipping, flexible rental time periods (which you can't do with book stores) and you can even highlight in their textbooks.

Highlighting in textbooks is a major bonus, especially for me because I like to be able to visualize what I'm reading and what I need to study and know.

There is something unique about CampusBookRentals and that's the fact that with every purchase you make on their website, they donate a portion of it to Operation Smile.

Operation Smile is a charity that helps children with clef palettes get the help they need and allow them to have the best, most beautiful smile around. Does it get much better than that? You get a cheap textbook and a child gets a smile in return.

Also, another unique feature about CampusBookRentals is their Rentback Program. Here is a little description of what that entails:

RentBack is new initiative that allows students to rent the textbooks they own - to other students... which is awesome because it makes them 2-4x more money compared to what they'd make through buyback options! (selling their books back at the end of the semester) Isn't that awesome?!

I've used CampusBookRentals.com many times before and they have the biggest, best selection of textbooks. Their customer service is outstanding and it really does save you a ton of money. If you've been putting off buying textbooks because you're terrified of watching your bank account deplete,  take advantage of CampusBookRentals.com.

What are your thoughts on renting textbooks?

Where Have I Been?

in , , by RoyallyPink, 7:30 PM
Woah, hello there.

It's been quite the week and a half. I'll admit, I kind of forgot to blog with all the stuff that has been going on (hello multiple snow storms and recruitment week). I also didn't have much inspiration for anything. I was in such a funk because I was so busy and it's super cold in my house. I also had a random weekend class which was interesting to say the least. So many excuses, so little time.

Royally Pink will be back up and running to regular scheduled programming next week but for now, here are some of my favorite Pinterest findings:

NYC is experiencing another hectic week of snow. I'm snowed in with my roomies up at school and desperately in need of some Pink Moscato, too bad I'm too lazy to leave the house.

This is what my day will consist of
snowday

Pinterest, trolling the Internet and catching up on "Girls" will how my day will be spent. On my travels, I found this adorable little saying that is making me yearn for the Upper East Side.

LOVE LOVE LOVE. I miss my Gossip Girl friends.

What are you doing on this snowy day?
