Since I came out of the womb, I was a hair accessory girl. My mom used to put hats, headbands, barrettes, and bows on my head with every outfit, and I was an exceptional child because I kept them on the entire time.

This continued well into childhood and my teenage years because I loved headbands. I wanted to wear a headband with every outfit, even if it didn't look right. Funnily enough, my mom grew to dislike my headband fascination but I blame her wholeheartedly for being this way.

Eventually, headbands went out of style and I needed to hang mine up. It wasn't until Gossip Girl premiered and Blair Waldorf reintroduced headbands to the fashion world that I felt comfortable rocking my favorite hair piece.

After a few years the trend faded once again but late last year, we saw the rebirth of it and I couldn't be more excited.

I actually was ahead of the game because this summer I purchased a pack of printed headbands from Amazon. I love wearing my hair curly and having a headband in to keep it out of my face but also it gives a nice beachy feel to a summer look.

When I was researching the fashion and beauty trends that were going to make a splash in 2019, hair accessories were at the top of the list and I've never seen a trend take the world by storm so fast.

Everyone is wearing barrettes, every fashion company is releasing headbands, and stylish scrunchies are making waves. I've already started stockpiling headbands and I need to find a few barrettes that will keep my unruly locks in place.

Headbands

Pearls were everywhere last year and I'm still completely obsessed with them, so it's no wonder I've been trying to find the perfect pearl headband. Lele Sadoughi has the most gorgeous pearl headbands and wraps, but they clock in at a whopping $150. I'm not going to lie, I'm very tempted to get myself one and I might in the near future but for now, I found an incredible dupe on Etsy! I've been wearing it for a week or so and it definitely hurts a bit but you just have to get used to it; it's so beautiful, goes with every outfit and I'm really in love.

I also picked up this pearl headband from Nordstrom and it's so beautiful and very comfortable! It's definitely a little dressier than the Etsy one but I still love it. Below are other picks for my favorite headbands!

Barrettes

My hair was always a little thick for barrettes and I felt like they always looked a little silly. However, now everyone is wearing thicker, more statement clips and I think I might try my hand at it.

Scrunchies

Scrunchies have been making their way back into the style lexicon for a while and I'm personally very here for it. I've talked about my love of Slip Scrunchies before, the big and small ones, and I continue to spend money I don't have on overpriced hair ties. However, retailers are releasing cheaper ones that are just as adorable. The 90s are officially back!

Ever since I was a little girl, I was in love with television. My parents and family members have told me countless stories about how I would sit in front of the TV for hours upon hours, staring aimlessly at the square box.

I was almost late to school a handful of times because I couldn't stand the thought of being ripped away from Barney or Winnie the Pooh.

As I grew older, my addiction got worst. I became obsessed with TV shows such as Gilmore Girls and One Tree Hill and I couldn't go to sleep without the dull lull of the television in the background.

I realized how bad my obsession with TV was this year when one of my roommates pointed out that whenever I enter a room, I must turn the television on. I cannot be in a room without the TV on, even if it's on mute.

A world without television is no world I could bare to live in.

Through my years of addiction, I have acquired a particular love for certain characters. There are some shows that have a character that you connect with--a character that can do no wrong in your book, someone who speaks your language and makes you feel things you've never felt.

I have a lot of characters in my years that have made me feel that way, some are classics and others are some that I just can't seem to get away from.

They are in no particular order because choosing a favorite is somewhat what I imagine picking your favorite child is like.

1. Rory Gilmore

If you haven't watched Gilmore Girls, you are seriously missing out. Between the quick banter, the pop culture references, and the dynamic of the people in Stars Hollow, this show was one for the ages. Rory Gilmore was at the center of it all; a simple plain Jane with an intense love for books and studying--at times she was more of an adult than Lorelai, her mother was. I am Rory Gilmore in so many different ways. I think she is part of the reason I wanted to be a journalist. Rory is the all American girl next door with the sweetest intentions, a wise mind, and a tongue so quick you have to think twice about what she said. I connect with Rory because I am so similar to her and she is part of who I am today.

2. Damon Salvatore

The brooding, older vampire in the Vampire Diaries, Damon Salvatore is the brother with the smoldering glare. He has a heart of iron but somewhere deep down, he is a good person. He loves Elena with all his heart and would do anything for her, even though he has done a lot of bad. He loves his brother and his friends too, even if he won't admit it. Damon has a good heart, he is a good person, if you look hard enough. Yes, he makes bad decisions but that to me makes him more lovable. Plus, he is super hot so that doesn't hurt.

3. Carrie Bradshaw

Do I even have to explain this one? She is perfect; even with all her flaws. She's made mistakes but did her best to clean them up. Ms. Bradshaw is completely fabulous and gave me all the courage I need to rock my curly locks. She lives in Manhattan, goes out all the time, attends fabulous events, shops till she drops, and has a great career. I want to be Carrie Bradshaw in more ways than one. Her voiceovers give me that burst of encouragement and inspiration I need on a daily basis. I can't help but love her!

4. Barney Stinson

This is the newest addition to my list. Since becoming addicted with How I Met Your Mother, I have not been able to get enough of Neil Patrick Harris' amazing portrayal of womanizer Barney Stinson. On the surface, he is a good looking, suit wearing, sexual being who loves to take advantage of women but deep down, he is that way because of his upbringing. He's also so in love with Robin that he changes who he is in order to be with her; also Nora and Quinn--he changed who he was because he loved them enough. That goes to show that he isn't a bad person. I just have such a soft spot for him.

5. Blair Waldorf

Queen B; my alter ego. Blair Waldorf is completely amazing. She is broken and bent but always holds her head high. No matter what the world throws at her, Blair never faults. She is the crazy bitch around here, as she likes to remind everyone. She has a huge heart and loves so hard that it breaks her. Blair Waldorf is someone I look up too, even with all her faults and flaws.
I'm a teenage girl who loves TV drama so naturally, I love Gossip Girl! I love the glamour and the scandal and the wonders of the Upper East Side.

I love the characters and their stories and their relationships.

My favorite couple on Gossip Girl and one of my favorite television/movie/book couples in the world are none other than the King and Queen of Scandal and Mischief, Chuck Bass and Blair Waldorf.

They are positively perfect together; they have so much baggage and so many issues when it comes to their individual personalities but when they come together, they are perfect.

They might hurt each other, like when Chuck gave Blair up for the hotel or when Blair went to marry Prince Louie, despite the fact that she loved Chuck more but it doesn't matter. They will always love each other and they will always be there to pick the other up when they fall.

This post has been inspired by a video I found on youtube, a montage of some of the greatest, most loving, most heartbreaking Chuck and Blair moments throughout five seasons of Gossip Girl.

This showcases all the great moments and memories and here are a few of my favorites:

1. When Chuck finally tells Blair he loves her in the Season 2 finale. It had been a long time coming, an entire season's worth. Chuck leaves NYC to travel across Europe but returns early with some of Blair's favorite gifts from her favorite countries, including Paris. And right there, on a Manhattan sidewalk, Chuck says those three words, eight letters, and Blair is his.

2. The moment that started it all: the first time Chuck and Blair do the deed. It will go down in Gossip Girl history, when Blair was dancing on the Burlesque stage and Chuck finally saw the light. Back in the limo, they have sex for the first time. It wasn't without drama though, but what else is new? At the time, Blair was dating Chuck's best friend Nate, who Waldorf later faked her virginity for. Confused?

3. Blair went to NYU in Season 3 and she had a hard time being a small fish in a big pond. She tries to get in with some girls to make them her minions; she tries to join a high society of women by buying obnoxiously rich paintings. Our beloved Blair Waldorf loses herself for a minute but Chuck reminds her of exactly who she is, "So next time you forget that you're Blair Waldorf, remember I'm Chuck Bass, and I love you."

4. Our hearts broke when Blair agreed to marry Prince Louie (and that blew up in her face) so we were dying when Eleanor wanted Chuck to come to the wedding for one reason, TO STOP IT. He puts it simply, he doesn't want Blair to marry Louie. And in a speech that melts everyone's hearts, Chuck does his best to convince Blair that they belong together, that it should be them standing at the altar.

Blair admits to loving Chuck more than Louie, to her love for Chuck growing more and more every day but she cannot be with him. WHY, I YELL AT THE TV, WHY?

5. The original: The White Party in the Hamptons in Season 2, right after Chuck leaves Blair to fly off the Europe for the summer. He is trying to convince her not to leave with Marcus. She asks him why, "Three words, eight letters, say it and I'm yours." But Chuck cannot say the words Blair longed to hear.

6. One final moment; the Season 5 finale where Blair FINALLY leaves Dan Humphrey and goes to find Chuck; he has just lost Bass Industries to his newly alive father. Blair tells him that she loves him, that she chooses him, but in true Gossip Girl/Blair and Chuck ways, he tells her that they cannot be together. Blair, like the powerhouse she is, follows Chuck to Europe (shit, they love Europe, don't they?) and finds Mr. Bass at a casino. She tells him that she's going to fight for him, just like he fought for her and that she's all in.

SWOON!

The point is that Chuck and Blair have a fairytale love; yes, there have been many bumps along the road but they love each other with their entire souls, their entire beings and it warms my heart whenever they pop up on my screen.

Chuck and Blair are soulmates and hopefully, in the end, they find their way back to each other.
