For the past few weeks I've been in a light colored nail polish mood... good thing too since spring started this weekend and I changed my nail polish from dark to light. I've been loving all the pink colors in my collection and one of those is the "Candy Clouds" polish from Lights Lacquer.

I received it back in February with the Birthday Brat collection and have used it twice since. Candy Clouds is described as a creamy, soft baby pink with slightly peach undertones. I think it's a very unique pink and that's probably due to the peach undertone. It's super beautiful! To me, it's the perfect pink.

In my opinion, this formula was a lot better than Strawberry Frosting. It seemed a little easier to work with, a little creamier and applied more evenly. It's a color that makes you happy, that makes you look forward to warm weather and I personally think Candy Clouds is a color that can be worn all year long... it's cool enough for the winter but light enough for spring. It's pretty perfect!

I'm so grateful to be on the Lights Lacquer PR list and I'm very happy to have been gifted the latest collection, "Birthday Brat". In honor of Lights Lacquer's first birthday, Kathleen released the Birthday Brat Trio and I'm obsessed. It also comes at the perfect time since Valentine's Day is next week! I love pink polish all year round but it feels extra special around February. 

The collection consists of three colors: two pink shades and a glitter polish. Candy Clouds is a soft, baby pink that has some light peach undertones, Strawberry Frosting is a true, bubble gum pink and Sugar Baby is a gold & pink glitter polish with some chunks of holographic glitter. 

To try out the collection, I painted my nails with Strawberry Frosting and topped it with NCLA's "Heart Attack" topcoat that has small red & pink hearts in it. *You could also get Heart Attack in a duo with NCLA's light pink polish on Revolve. 

Strawberry Frosting went on like a dream! It was so creamy, opaque, and didn't bleed onto my nail beds. I think this might be my favorite Lights Lacquer formula to date... it just felt a lot better than the other polishes I had and maybe that's because it was a traditional cream polish & a light color! 

Applying 'Heart Attack' was a little more difficult; it was really hard to get the hearts from the nail brush onto the nail. When I did get the hearts onto my nail, it was difficult to get them to stay in place and get more than one onto my nail. After I got the hearts in place, I did apply my Olive & June top coat and it worked out great.

However, I still really loved how the manicure came out, even if it did take a little work and was overflowing with hearts! The manicure lasted a solid 4 days until I started picking at it. With regular nail polish remover, the hearts came out with ease. 

I will definitely be using both colors throughout the year, even after February 14th!

 I am finally completing my trio of posts about the Lights Lacquer Holiday Collection. If you missed my first two posts, you can read them here and here. I received the package in PR and decided to paint my nails all December long with the collection. I started with the more traditional holiday shades to celebrate Christmas and New Years' with and have since moved onto the final two shades in the collection -- the winter blues!

There are two blue hues in the collection: I'll Be Home and Misfit Toys. 

I'll Be Home is a deep, blue velvet that has a matte finish. I had no idea it was matte until I started applying. I hate matte nail polish on me but with my Essie Gel Couture Top Coat, it made it look shinier and almost gave it an iridescent flick when in light. 

Misfit Toys is a more snow/baby blue color which I think will be gorgeous throughout the winter. It definitely was a more sheer formula and needs to be built up to look good. My favorite colors to wear in the winter are these snowy looking shades so even though the formula was less than satisfactory, I'll probably continue to wear it throughout the winter. 

The formula on both polishes aren't great; they're a bit watery and messy, bleeding onto my cuticles and not being super controllable. They were also really patchy and not easy to build up. I'm not sure if it's because of the blue hue, or because the Misfit Toys color is so light but these were just not my favorite.

Because of the matte finish of "I'll Be Home", I probably won't wear as much but as mentioned above, I'll definitely endure the pain of "Misfit Toys." The other polishes in the holiday collection were much better and easier to work with! 

This was kind of a strange review because I'm not a fan of the formulas but still like the polishes so I can't recommend these colors but also cannot NOT recommend them! However, if you do like matte shades, I recommend "I'll Be Home" because I feel like it's a very unique shade to have a matte finish and you won't find it anywhere else.
