I've done variations of this sort of post in the past but I figured I could start fresh now and title this post the way it should be titled.

As someone who deals with anxiety and depression, I find there are few things that make me happy. I am constantly saying that I don't know what true happiness feels like, but does anyone really? Of course, I get happy when I'm with my friends and family (if I'm in a good mood) but in my life, what really brings me joy? What does being happy really feel like?

When will I feel that?

It sounds really sad when you hear me say that ... in person at least because it's very upsetting to think that someone doesn't know true happiness. This isn't a new feeling -- I've been feeling it for quite a while, so long in fact that I wrote a blog post about it back in 2015.

Things have gotten better since then, though and I've learned to make myself happy through little joys that I seek out daily.

What Makes Me Happy

1. Babies: This is so weird but I have such baby fever it's quite alarming. My Godson is 2 years old and my cousin just had another baby a few weeks ago and there is nothing I love more than playing with him and making him laugh. I love following celebrities and bloggers with babies because their laughs and smiles and funny ways just bring so much happiness to my day. There is nothing as pure as a child and honestly, it makes me so, so happy.

2. Coffee: Besides being the reason I wake up in the morning, coffee and all coffee related things fill me with so much joy. I love the look of coffee, the smell, and the taste; I love shirts that say "But First Coffee" and cheeky things like that. I don't know what it is but it is a weakness of mine and I love it!

3. Disney: Since I was a child, Disney had a special place in my heart. They were my favorite movies and the earliest memory I have is Sleeping Beauty and Winnie the Pooh. As I got older I've embraced being the adult who loves Disney and I don't really care if that's corny. Disney brings me more joy than other everyday things; when I went to Disney last year with work, it was truly one of the happiest days of my life. I don't remember the last time I was that happy, for that long. Whether it's a Disney Instagram account, a quick clip of a movie or looking at all the items on DisneyStore.com

4. Cozy nights: This is my perfect night. I come home, don't touch my computer, turn my lights off, light a candle and turn on my twinkle lights; I get under the covers and my room is ice cold. I watch TV, scroll on Instagram or read a book. That is pure joy and one of my favorite things in the world.

What are the little things that make you happy?
