We're officially in Christmas nail season and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't sad to see my fall manicures go. It feels like fall flew by! Don't worry though, I won't be giving up brown manicures any time soon...

However, this week we're talking about a beautiful, rich, cranberry manicure from Olive & June. For Thanksgiving this year, I was really feeling red instead of brown, probably because I've been wearing brown manicures all season long.

Olive & June recently released the shade Cabernet into their Quick Dry line and I had to have it. I have quite a few reds from Olive & June but I think this one is my favorite so far.

It's described as a wine red with undertones of plum and purple to add depth to the manicure. It's stunning and Cabernet really is the perfect way to describe the shade.

I initially painted my nails with Cabernet in a hurry on Thanksgiving morning, but my nails were not in the best shape and I didn't like how the manicure turned out. I still loved the color and wasn't done with it yet so I took off all the polish & just redid my nails the right way.

After a little buffing and filing, my nails were as good as new and ready to take the beautiful color again. I used, as always, my Essie Hard to Resist as a base coat and topped two coats of Cabernet with the Olive & June Quick Dry top coat.

Of course the polish went on smoothly and perfectly, with no patchiness and minimal spillage onto the cuticles. The finish is so shiny and the color looks so beautiful on the nails, it's perfect for this time of the year.

I love red nails but sometimes I don't want something very bright and obvious. It's nice to have a deeper, cranberry option and when it's in the quick dry formula, that's even better. My nails dried within 5 minutes and there was no chipping or smudging.

If you haven't bought a Quick Dry polish from Olive & June yet, what are you waiting for? The entire website is 25% off today for Cyber Monday so now is the perfect time to try!
