I am an organizational freak. With me, everything is made into a list, everything needs to be in it's place--my life is better that way.

I'm especially crazy when it comes to organizing for school and knowing when everything is due, when I have work and meetings. I write everything down and I mean everything. If I'm making a to do list, I'll write down to eat breakfast, just so the day is more put together.

I have a few different notebooks for various things: the blog, my planner, my Phi Sigma Sigma planner, and a random notebook where I jot down scribbly notes. For this, I use my Lilly Pulitzer planner and three different Maybooks.

I also have even toyed around with the idea of an online planner, like the Google Calendar. I have so many "list" apps between my phone and iPAD it's unreal. I feel that with all this technology, I have to use it for something useful, especially if I'm constantly on my phone, what better way to stay organized?

I've come to the conclusion though that I really do not like online planners. I don't know why, I'm just bothered by them.

I really love physically writing things down on paper, until it's written in pen, it doesn't exist to me. I find the online calendars confusing and I usually forget about them. They don't work for me.

I like the fact that with a regular planner, you're able to flip through the pages and see what you wrote down, you're able to cross things off your list and feel accomplished.

With an online planner, that goes out the window--you're just typing things up on a computer.

Some people really enjoy online planners and it makes sense, everything is all in one place and since you already have your phone with you, there isn't something extra to carry around. On any given day, I have three extra notebooks in my bag, it definitely adds up.

I've tried and tried again but I just can't get on board with the idea of an online planner, it just doesn't work for me.

What do you prefer? Online or paper?

  1. I prefer paper planners too...I carry one day planner and a composition notebook around with me at all times just to jot down everything that I know. I have used the iCalendar app on my ipad and I like that it syncs everything up through iCloud but I still like paper better!

I just wanted to let you know that I nominated you for a Versatile Blogger Award over at my blog. You can come pick up your pretty award here!

  2. Paper is definitely the way to go. For some reason I feel more organized when I have everything written in my day planner as opposed to stored in my phone!
    I love your blog! XOXO
