Nail polish names are so fun and I think it's probably the coolest job in the world to have a part in naming them. Some names make sense...like Essie Ballet Slippers or Marshmallow; others are a bit off the cuff, like 'Not a Phase' or 'Butler, Please' and some are bizarre but make perfect sense.

Like this new one from the Olive & June winter collection...

Don't Spill on the White Couch is a perfect name for a polish this color. It's such a funny, proper and yet cozy name that makes sense in an odd way. Do you really want to spill anything on a white couch? No. But you definitely don't want to spill red wine or red nail polish, which lends itself to the irony within the name.

This polish was an immediate add to cart for me because of the warmth it had. It's a gorgeous plum, red & resembles a delectable red wine that you'd sip by the Christmas tree or fireplace. The hints of berry, red and warmth make it the perfect nail polish for the holiday season, and well after the clock strikes midnight on December 31st.

The purple undertones of this polish could allow it to be worn throughout the year; it's not a true berry or a true blue red, so it's flexible.

The formula, as always, is perfect. It went on super evenly and with two coats, it was fully opaque. It dries down very glossy and lasted a good amount of time before I started to pick it off.

If you want to wear a red polish without the bold glamour, Don't Spill on the White Couch is perfect for you.

xoxo
