As the summer begins to wind down I'm trying to cram in all my fun, summer manicures. I've kept it pretty standard throughout the past few months -- reds, pinks, and a Bikini So Teeny manicure or two but lately I've been craving something brighter.

It could be that I'll be switching to darker colors soon or the fact that I have a tan so the neon polishes look so much nicer, but something in me is screaming for brightness. It's also a little weird because it's mid-August and I don't even care that pumpkin spice season is around the corner which is very unlike me.

Anyways...this week's manicure is a newer Olive & June shade called 'Guava Gloss', from their new lipgloss finish collection. When they announced a lipgloss collection, I truly thought Olive & June was releasing lipglosses but jokes on me, because they weren't.

These new polishes have a sheer, glossy almost sticky looking finish. You might think that you've seen a lipgloss nail polish before -- any sheer, glossy shade would do, wouldn't it? Honestly, no. This is an incredibly unique formula that looks the way lipgloss does.

The shiny, plump, glossy finish allows this bright pink to appear more wearable and as Olive & June's website says, even a neutral! I won't argue with that...

As always, the Olive & June formula is stunning. It went on super smoothly and two coats was just enough to get the opacity you desire. As I was applying it, it even looked like lipgloss coming off the applicator. It has a viscosity that makes it look sticky and wet, it's so beautiful.

When I was placing my order, I was going between Guava Gloss or Pink Pineapple, but I'm really glad that I went with my gut. Pink Pineapple is so beautiful but it's a little too sheer for my liking; Guava Gloss was the perfect choice.

There are a lot of other beautiful shades in the lipgloss collection and Olive & June even put together some great duo sets so you can customize your manicure -- everything is linked below!
