Over the course of the past few months, I've gone through a lot of changes and they were all related to my career and side hustle. In those hard moments, I had to really buckle down and find it within myself to do things I had to do when I didn't want to do them at all.

Sometimes, when you don't want to put your big girl pants on and be productive but you have too. I've been struggling with this so much; first, in the job search a few months ago and now in terms of blogging and freelance work.

It can be really hard to drag yourself out of the unproductive, unmotivated pit of hell but there is a way... there is always a way.

Make a To-Do List

It might sound simple but getting your thoughts and tasks down on paper can be productive in itself. Seeing everything you have to do on one page can do wonders for your mind. It's also important to make a to-do list that is reasonable, especially when you're feeling a little all over the place. Prioritize the list with the most important thing at the top and so on; if you aim to get that most important thing done and accomplish THAT, it's half the battle. If you get that one important thing done, you will feel so much better and it will bring you out of the unmotivated rut.

Do What You Want, Not What You Have to Do

Productivity can mean a million things; it can mean going to the gym or responding to an email or freshening up your resume. Those might be things you have to do or things you want to do. When you're feeling unmotivated, the best thing to do is to do something you LOVE. It doesn't have to be on your to-do list, it could be something fun or something random. Doing something to be semi-productive is really good for your soul and will instill some sort of motivation within you. Once you go, you can keep going.

Look for Inspiration

One of my favorite things to do when I'm feeling unmotivated is to look for inspiration. I can find inspiration anywhere from Instagram to Pinterest to a book or a podcast. Listening to others do what they love makes me want to do what I love. If I'm suffering through a dry spell with the blog, reading other blogs and listening to podcasts about influencers and entreprenuers make me so happy. It makes me want to be better and do what I love. It can give you a different perspective on things and instill something in you that you didn't even know was there.

I hoped these tips helped -- I know they help me when I'm feeling lazy.
