A new season brings new nail polish and more than ever, we need a little brightness. Essie's Spring collection has launched in all retailers and is already fully sold out at Ulta. However, you can still find it at Target.

Upon first seeing the collection, I was intrigued by a few shades but mostly the pale yellow, "Feeling Wellies". I saw swatches on Instagram and it looked so pretty and so springy. I've been really into pastel and tie-dye vibes (who hasn't?!) and I thought this color fit the aesthetic beautifully.

I added it on when I was shopping Ulta's 21 Days of Beauty and finally used it last week when I felt like I needed a pick me up.

Well, I was in love.

The color isn't your normal yellow and doesn't wash your hands out; it doesn't look like a fungus or look like you have watercolor paint on your nails, it's the perfect pale yellow with a touch of neon. It screams Spring, even when you're stuck indoors.

However, the formula is really not great. It's one of the worst formulas I've used in a while and I'm not sure if it's me or the color. I have had bare nails for the better part of the past month so maybe I'm not practiced at painting anymore, or the bright color made the formula a little watery and patchy.

That's exactly what it was -- watery, hard to steady and streaky. Two coats made it much better but it still looked a little messy on the nails. It also didn't last too long and started chipping after 3-4 days. All of that being said, I still really love this color and will be wearing it all spring & summer long.

Have you tried a new nail polish recently?
xoxo
