You guessed it -- another Olive & June quick dry review! I can't help myself, I am addicted to this formula. There is nothing like realizing you forgot to paint your nails and need to do it fast, but you don't have enough time to fully dry. Having a variety of Olive & June quick dry polishes has saved me so many times and I'll never give this formula up!
One of the 'always on' non seasonal shades that I picked up a few months back was "Freshwater". It is a newer shade in their line and one that I thought would be a perfect addition to my rotation.
Freshwater is described a 'sheer, pearly white' which makes the name perfect for this all year round color. It's super shiny, a little sheer but still opaque enough to make you feel put together.
I don't always love a white manicure and while I have a number of shades in my collection, it's not something I reach for on the daily. However, I think the pearlescent, almost shimmer like finish really drew me to it. It's unique, fun but still neutral enough to wear every day.
Olive & June describes Freshwater as a creme, neutral polish that has warm undertones -- a new feature that I just noticed on their product pages which I appreciate greatly. Sometimes it's hard to describe nail polishes!
Because of the unique texture and finish of this polish, the application process was a little off. I don't think my nails were in the best shape to take hold of a pearlescent polish, even though it does apply like a traditional creme. I also tend to mess up white nail polishes so I'm not always the best judge...
I will say that the color is more off white than a true, pure white which is nice. I think it's the pearly finish that gives it that extra oomph. If you have the right tools, and your nails are smooth, this polish won't give you a bit of trouble. It's so pretty and I think it's such a great all year round shade when you want a break from the traditional, seasonal colors.
What's on your nails this week?
xoxo
