It's been years that I've been seeing this product all over social media, and I finally got the chance to try it out after receiving in PR. The PMD Beauty Personal Microderm Elite Pro is a personal microdermabrasion tool that mimics an in-office microdermabrasion treatment.
I've never been for a facial or any kind of skincare treatment but I've always been so interested in it, and I feel like this is a really good starting point for me.
If you're unaware of what this device is, or what microdermabrasion is, let me explain. The PMD Beauty Elite Pro is excellent for uneven texture, large pores, anti-aging, and dark spots. If you're in need of something to liven up your skin, bring life back into it through radiance, smoothness and firmness, this is the tool you need.
This device is basically going to slough off all the dead skin cells to make room for new cells to grow and thrive. It's an intense exfoliator that will make skin look and feel brand new. The technology behind it is fascinating; it's vacuum suction and something called 'tri-speed capabilities' that moves with your skin to exfoliate.
The exfoliation removes the top layer of dead skin so that you're left with a smooth, soft complexion that is able to absorb skincare products more effectively and makeup will sit nicer.
The Elite Pro comes with multiple disc heads to customize based on your skin needs; I've been using the sensitive skin heads but it also comes with 'very sensitive', moderate, and coarse. I would recommend starting with very sensitive and then working your way up to coarse just to ensure you're not damaging your skin.
When you're getting ready to use it for the first time, you can use the white cap it comes with as practice and that was really helpful for me, just to get the hang of the suction and speed that comes along with the device.
You'll start with clean and dry skin, pull it taut and then glide the cap over your skin, never hitting the same place twice and be sure to not apply pressure to skin because you don't want to exfoliate further. It sounds difficult but it's really not and once you get the hang of it, you'll be a pro.
I do notice a huge difference in my skin when I use it versus when I don't. My skin is brighter, smoother, softer, and feels brand new. Right now, I use it once a week but I think you can increase the frequency based on your needs and how your skin reacts to it.
The PMD website has a lot of tutorials and great information that is incredibly helpful to using the tool for the first time, and for getting the most out of it... like you can use it on your arms or feet -- not just your face! Brand websites are such a wealth of knowledge and they need to be more utilized more.
If you are someone who isn't ready to experiment with in-office treatments but wants something a step up from topical skincare, I highly recommend the PMD Microderm Elite Pro. It gives you the instant effects of in-office care without the downtime or price tag.
