I've been waiting for the right time to try my new Olive & June polishes and last week was it. Back in November, I placed a pretty big order for their Black Friday sale and it took almost a month to get to me... and another month for me to use it.

Well, better late than never because these shades are to die for so stay tuned for more Olive & June manicures coming soon... but for this week we're talking about the shade 'Cable Knit'. I am a sucker for a good polish name; this one made me feel so warm and cozy inside and I just had to have it. I mean, the color is also beautiful.

Cable Knit is described as a classic cream with a hint of peach and I think that's pretty true to form. It's more cream & white versus peach but that hint of something else is really apparent throughout. It's not a stark white but truly resembles a cream-colored cashmere sweater and I love that... especially for the cold weeks we've been having. As I type this, we're experiencing a huge blizzard in NYC and this color feels really appropriate.

I think what I like most about this particular color is that it isn't nude, it doesn't blend in with my skin, and can be worn year-round, even with a name like Cable Knit, It's a perfect neutral for my skin and I love how it looks. I think it would also make a great wedding guest shade if you have weddings coming up this spring.

After the disaster that was the Chanel Rouge Noir, it was a pleasure to apply a nail polish that was high quality. Olive & June is probably my favorite formula of the moment and I can't get enough. "Cable Knit" went on smoothly, evenly, and without a skip or patch in sight.

It dried beautifully and looked super shiny and glossy on the nail without any weird bubbles or anything that comes along with a bad polish formula. The chipping was minimal after a few days and the beauty is that OJ polish layers nicely over the chips.

Also, you can't go wrong with an Olive & June brush; it's large, flat, and covers your nail completely in one swipe... so much better than any other brush.

Aside from the Chanel Rouge Noir, I haven't bought another brand of nail polish in a while. I think I'm a convert to exclusively use Olive & June because it continues to be the best amongst Essie, OPI and others in my collection.

What's on your nails this Monday?
xoxo
