Happy New Year everyone! I'm excited about a fresh start and I love the fact that New Years Day was on a Friday... it felt so good waking up in the new year knowing I have the entire weekend ahead of me.
I woke up at 12 Noon, drank a glass of hot water and lemon, and savored the early afternoon. I cleaned my room, helped my mom take down the Christmas decor (sad), and crossed a ton of items off my to-do list. I sat down and journaled-- reflecting on the year, writing down my hopes for the year ahead and what I learned. It was a great exercise and I'm hoping to do a different one tomorrow, maybe focusing on my career, my blog, my freelance work, and self-care in general. It might help to break out the goals in that way.
I took things a step further and cleaned out some makeup and gathered items for another giveaway this month.
Afterward, I relaxed, watching the new season of "The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina", making myself dinner, doing a face mask, and reading a book. They say the way you spend the first day of the year is how you will spend the other 364... I could only hope the rest of my days felt as good as today.
I rang in 2020 with my mom and her fiancee, with Trader Joe's appetizers, and by watching Andy Cohen and Anderson Cooper get drunk in Times Square. It was weird, I didn't drink any champagne, and I was asleep by 2 AM but it was nice. It was as nice as New Year's Eve during a pandemic could be.
Today we are kicking off the next installment of the Royal Round Up aka my weekly link roundup. It's Volume 4 (I've been doing link roundups since I started the blog in 2012 but only started calling them Royal Round-Ups and keeping track of the weeks 4 years ago). I'm excited for Week 1 and ready for 2021 in general.
Pink Positivity of the Week
Seeing everyone's goals for the new year is really great. I wasn't a fan of seeing people reflect on 2020 but seeing everyone publish their goals and resolutions on Instagram really prompted me to look within myself. It felt good!
I will probably write a 2020 look back post and a 2021 goals post next week but am still contemplating... we'll see!
