I've become a little obsessed with skincare products. I'm constantly reading articles and blog posts about what's best for your skin and what you should be doing to take care of it. I'm going to gloat a bit here and say that I've always had really nice skin. Acne was always a once in a blue moon problem for me for which I'm eternally grateful.

I have though, been blessed with dark spots and terrible under eye circles so I'm always trying to get rid of those. Also, because of the insane tan I got in Punta Cana,  I've been doubling up on lotion and searching for the perfect moisturizer to keep my skin from peeling.

Like most girls, I have a daytime and nighttime skin routine, both which are relatively simple. I don't do the same thing day after day but there is some sort of consistency to what I do to take care of my skin.

I've been wanting to do a post about my skincare for a while now and I'm glad I'm finally getting around to it.

Morning Skincare

Let's start off with my daytime routine first. It's very simple. Clean and Clear has always been my go to for facial wash. Ever since I was young it's the product that works the best for me. For the morning, I use these two products that go hand in hand.

Clean and Clear Morning Burst is my favorite facial wash ever. It really does wake me up in the morning and leaves my skin fresh. I know I sound like an advertisement but this is just my opinion.

After washing my face, I'll apply my ELF under eye roller which takes away some puffiness and cools down my skin. This also helps me in feeling more awake.

I had never used moisturizer before so when I saw that Morning Burst had a gel moisturizer, I jumped at the chance. I actually purchased the new Morning Burst cleanser that had a sample of the gel moisturizer. After using it once, I went and bought the full size.

I've never used gel moisturizers before and to be honest, I never really used a daily moisturizer even thought I knew I should've. The gel is really light weight, compared to a cream that you can feel on your face. Your skin absorbs the gel, leaving no residue or feeling of heaviness. When I wake up in the morning, my face feels incredibly dry and tight and the minute I apply this to my face, I feel instantly better and more awake.

My nighttime routine is a little more complex but still not half as bad as some I see.

Nighttime Skincare

For starters, I'll usually take my make-up off with make-up wipes, then wash my face with either the Clean and Clear Morning Burst or St. Ives Apricot Scrub.

After that, I'll apply my Estee Lauder under eye cream to take care of dark circles. The next step is usually my Proactive Dark Spot Corrector. My mom and sister are avid Proactive subscribers so I usually take all their freebies and this one works wonders for me. I don't always remember to apply it but when I do, I usually see a noticeable difference in the A.M.

After the dark spot corrector, I'll sometimes apply Estee Lauder firming cream moisturizer because word on the street is that you should start using anti aging products in your twenties to prevent wrinkles, lines, etc.

If I don't use the firming cream, I'll apply Proactive Green Tea Moisturizer--sometimes it just feels better on my skin.

The last step in my nighttime skincare routine is not routine at all. If I have a blemish or a large acne spot, I'll use this little gem. I received it in my Birchbox last year and it's still going strong. It smells really weird and kind of burns when first applied but in the morning, the pimple is 2x smaller than it was in the first place. It's like magic!

As for the lotions I've been using to tame my insane sunburned and tanned skin, there are four products I've been alternating between.
