We had an extra day in February which means there is an extra day for loving some stuff!

I started out the month with a no buy and I lasted 3 weeks, a lot longer than I expected, but then I had to buy dresses for some parties coming up, I bought the new Too Faced Peanut Butter & Jelly palette, and it just snowballed from there.

I do think I was able to control myself when it came to spending and I stopped myself on a lot of purchases, which I'm really proud of. I just need to accept that I enjoy shopping and if I can manage my spending, then buying things I can afford to treat myself is more than ok.

In surprising news, there wasn't a lot of makeup I adored this month. I tried a few different things but ultimately, during the week at work, I went sans makeup. I just applied some concealer (which I'll talk about), curled my lashes, and went out the door. I was just super tired in the morning and the thought of putting foundation on was even more exhausting. Also, my skin is looking pretty good these days (taking care of it!) and I didn't feel the need for a lot of makeup.

1. ShopStyle App: As I mentioned above, I needed to buy a few new outfits for some parties I have coming up and for some odd reason, it was really stressing me out. I didn't know what I needed or where to start looking, and then it dawned on me. I downloaded the app ShopStyle a few days before and decided this was the perfect time to use it. I use the affiliate program all the time on the blog and figured it was time to use it in real life. The app made it so easy to find what I was looking for! You chose how to search through the retailers, how to filter and sort the items--having products from all over the internet in one place made it very easy to find exactly what I needed. This will for sure be my new way of looking for clothes and accessories.

Top-Corrector; Bottom-Concealer (I wear Light Neutral)
2. Urban Decay Concealer + Corrector: Color correcting is the new beauty trend and every.single.brand is releasing their own version of color correctors. I was dying to jump on this bandwagon but overwhelmed by all the choices. I ultimately decided on the most practical item for me at this time and that was the Urban Decay Color Correcting Fluid in Peach. The peach is supposed to help cover dark circles and spots. Color correcting products come in various colors (I can do a more in depth post on this if you guys want) to help with different skin issues. My dark circles have been Gucci status lately and I thought this would help. Well, it did. I used the Peach corrector in conjuction with my Urban Decay Weightless Concealer and they work so well together. They're the same consistency and blend out beautifully. I definitely feel like I notice a different of using the corrector over when I don't use the corrector. Team Color Correcting!

3. First Aid Beauty: I've raved about this brand before and I knew I needed more of it in my life. They have so many products that I haven't tried yet and I was itching (literally and figuratively) to get my hands on them. My skin was really acting out last month and the constant change in weather (30 below one day, 50 degrees the next), it was not getting any better. Sephora was offering a Winter Skin Hydration kit filled with 3 full size FAB products for around $40. They don't currently have it on their site but they have some other amazing kits. The kit contained their Ultra Repair Cream, Hydra Firm Sleeping Cream, and Facial Cleanser. I'm head over heels for all these items. The sleeping cream is an odd, thick consistency but blends into the skin immediately and leaves my face feeling super hydrated and smooth in the morning. I'm pretty sure the Facial Cleanser is the reason my skin is free of any kind of acne or blackheads, and I already knew I loved the Ultra Repair Cream but using it on my entire body after a shower has helped with the dryness immensely. These products are holy grail status.

3. Tony Moly So Cool Eye Stick: I have been searching for this product for years -- yes YEARS, and it is always sold out everywhere. I had some Birchbox points burning a hole in my pocket and wanted to spend it on something, and behold, this baby was available. Well, it was worth the wait. It's very cooling to the eye and helps with puffiness. My eyes have been extra puffy lately and I think this definitely helps. It's around $12 and I think it's worth it. I use it every day and I'm mildly obsessed!

4. Chloe + Isabel: This is a cheat one but I had to mention it. I've only been a merchandiser for less than a week and I feel like it's changed my life. I have my own little business, something I've ALWAYS wanted and have been wanting a lot more the past few weeks. I feel so official, so grown up, but happy that I have the ability to make money outside of work. I'll probably do a whole post on this experience once I get a little more adjusted but so far, so good! Check out my boutique here!

What did you guys love this month?
