Beauty in Review: Clé de Peau Concealer

 There are very few beauty products that have stood the test of time in regards to my favorites. As someone who loves to try new things, it's rare that I continually buy the same product time after time. Sure, I've gone through mascara and foundation phases, but usually after the second or third time buying something, I'm ready for something new.

That logic does not apply to this particular product. 

When I first found out about the Clé de Peau Concealer about 10 years ago, I knew that I had to have it. My dark under eye circles have always been my biggest beauty pain point and for that reason concealer is my all time favorite product to test and try. If I'm putting one makeup item on, it's going to be concealer, so wouldn't it just be natural for me to fall head over heels for a $75 concealer that is like a magic eraser? 

No one wants to spend $75 on a concealer but when it's this good, when it lasts you years (well past the expiration date), you do it.

Favorite Beauty Items of 2019

In 2019 I took a break from buying a lot of beauty products. I tried to be more mindful of the items I was purchasing and not just buying something because it's new and shiny. I tried to shop my stash a little more and recently decluttered a TON of makeup and beauty items that I wasn't using or that are too old and expired.

It felt incredible to get rid of old, unused makeup to make room for the things I actually use. It is definitely a precedent for how I'm going to go into the new year, with less in my possession and room for the things I actually enjoy.

All of that being said, I did have many beauty favorites this year: some were new to the market, new to me, or have been sitting around in my collection for some time. I might've talked at nausea about some of these while others are new to the blog... either way, they were some of my favorite beauty products of 2019!


Charlotte Tilbury Lipsticks

I've raved about Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks before, whether it was the lipstick formula or my favorite shade, Pillowtalk but I need to mention them again. I discovered these last year, and they were even in my 2018 favorites but I need to mention them again. I purchased a few more formulas and colors in 2019 and fell deeper in love. At this point, Pillowtalk is still my favorite color but I do love Super Cindy as well. All of CT's lipsticks are creamy, decently long-lasting, and blend seamlessly into the lips. They don't bleed, make my lips dry or chapped and they just look beautiful on the lips. When I don't want to wear makeup or lipstick or when I don't want to put too much effort into my look, a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick is there to save the day. If you have not tried one, I highly recommend looking into them!

Laura Geller Spackle Concealer

This concealer was released in January 2019 and because I worked at Laura Geller, I was able to use it a few months leading up to the release date. Spackle Concealer is medium coverage, lightweight concealer that blends beautifully into the skin doesn't cake up or dry out your under-eyes and does a kick-ass job at covering my dark circles. It's also called 'Spackle' because it has priming benefits and 'Spackle' is the name of the LGB primer line. When I want to throw on something quick whether with our without foundation/tinted moisturizer, I reach for this concealer. I've gone through at least 3 tubes in the past year and when I left LGB, I took a lot of these concealers with me. I have not one bad thing to say about this

Charlotte Tilbury Peachgasm Beauty Wand

I had been lusting after one of CT's 'beauty wands' for a while when I saw her release a limited edition shade called 'Peachgasm'. What I loved most about this shade was that it was light enough to be a highlighter but had enough colored pigment to be a blush. My obsession with cream-based beauty products usually arrives around April & May so this fits perfectly into my spring & summer beauty routine. The Beauty Light Wand is a highlighter and/or blush stick that has a gorgeous glow/ and luminosity to it. I use it as a cream blush and it truly lights up my face; I have worn it alone a lot this year, without any other cheek product and sometimes just over SPF. It's the one beauty product that was new to me in format and looks this year that I really think made a difference in my beauty routine. I became simply obsessed with this CT product this year and I 100% see myself purchasing more in the new year! *It was in my July 2019 favorites as well

Ole Henkrisen Cold Plunge Pore Mask

I'm not sure when I purchased this product but boy, was it one of my most used face masks in 2019. Ole Henkrisen has quickly become one of my favorite skincare brands, even if I don't have a lot of their items, I just really enjoy the products I do have and love their marketing. The Cold Plunge Pore Mask mimics a cold plunge, which is part of the Scandinavian sauna cycle. The cold is supposed to detoxify, cleanse your skin and reduces the appearance of pores. When you apply this mask, it really is cold on the skin and it feels incredible! I love using this when my skin feels icky when I'm hungover or if I haven't done my skincare routine in a few nights. It makes my skin feel and look smooth, clean, and pretty dam good. If I had to give away all my face masks and only keep one, it would be this one.

Drunk Elephant Lala Retro Whipped Cream

This was the year of finally purchasing a full-size Drunk Elephant product and I am very happy that it was the Lala Retro moisturizer*. I wanted a simple, no fuss, traditional moisturizer that wasn't too heavy and this is IT. I don't react badly to it, it really hydrates my skin but I also think someone with oily or normal skin could use it because I don't find it to be overly heavy. It hasn't necessarily changed my skin in any shape or form, but that isn't why I purchased it. I just needed something to help maintain moisture and feed my skin when it felt bad. Lala Retro was also one of the most consistent parts of my beauty routine this year and I will definitely be repurchasing this once I run out.

*Note: I haven't tried the ceramides version that DE replaced the OG with mid-2019 but I am excited to try. My skin LOVES ceramides.

Monthly Muse: November Favorites

This month went by in a blur but also very slowly. It was a rough month for some personal reasons but also a happy one because 1) the weather got cold, 2) Thanksgiving, 3) I turn 25 in two days.

November is definitely my 2nd favorite month (October being the first) so I was happy to have it pass by a little more slowly than usual.

I didn't do much shopping this month to save up all my strength and dollars for Black Friday & Cyber Monday... I will attempt to do a haul over on my Youtube channel once I get everything in the mail!

Because I didn't shop that much, I did a really great little shop my stash and really used everything in my collection (makeup wise)



1. Becca First Light Priming Filter: I'm almost done with this primer because I've been using it every day. I forgot how much I loved it and I will be buying it again. It's super light weight, makes my skin look nice and really allows my makeup to last all day. If you haven't tried this primer, I highly recommend it!

 2. Hey Honey Silk Facial Serum: While I love nighttime skincare, I am never good at putting skincare on in the morning. I don't like my face to feel oily or too moisturized before applying makeup, which goes against everything I know, but I just like using my primer on clean skin. That is, until now. I don't know where I got this mini sample from but it's almost gone and it's amazing. I've used this everyday before makeup and my skin feels so smooth and supple. The texture that was on my skin is pretty much gone and I think I owe it to this product. It has a smooth texture, doesn't have a smell, and just sinks into your skin. It's an awesome morning serum!

 3. Makeup Forever HD Foundation Stick: I've had this in my collection for a while and always use it sparingly. Well, this month I decided I wanted a quick foundation to apply in the morning before work and this was perfect. It makes my skin look flawless, gives medium-full coverage, and is just perfect to apply in a hurry. I apply it with this PUR Cosmetics brush and it takes me under 60 seconds to do my foundation. I kind of want to throw out all my other foundation & use this only.

4.  MILK Makeup Flex Concealer: I've been dying for a new concealer because I've been bored with my collection and I just so happened to get this concealer from an old colleague who works for MILK. Um, it's amazing!! The packaging is so cute (I love the tube + classic applicator) and it is medium-full coverage. It has a brightening effect while not being stark white *not sure if this is a claim but it is for sure brightening on me* and it blends out beautifully. It's a new must-have for me!



5. Snowflake iPhone Case: When I saw this iPhone case from Kate Spade, I was drawn to it immediately. I'm getting into the real winter & Christmas spirit and this went with my aesthic. However, for once, I didn't think spending $55 on a phone case was a good idea so I decided to look on Etsy... I found a few I liked but then I thought, what's cheaper than Etsy? AMAZON! I got this adorable snowflake phone case that is sturdy and fits my mood to a T.

Monthly Muse: October 2015 Favorites

October went very slow and I'm very happy about that. It was a busy month for me between three different work trips/events, friends' birthdays, homecoming, and much more -- October is always fun and November is going to be just as great.

November is my birthday month and my favorite holiday: Thanksgiving. It will definitely be busy at work again-- I mean, I do work in retail (sort of) and it's the holiday season. Black Friday & Cyber Monday will be insane but I'm perfectly fine with it, as long as I can watch Christmas movies and sip on Gingerbread Lattes.

Ugh, I love the fall & winter, I never want it to end. I'm already looking forward to next fall & winter--how insane is that?

Anyways, I'm currently sitting on the couch watching Gilmore Girls with my Caramel Pumpkin Swirl Candle burning away and my throat is just as hot as the candle. Yes, I have Strep Throat for the 2nd time this year. My Halloween was spent watching back to back airings of Hocus Pocus and eating soup in bed. Today (Monday) is a sick day for me-- that's how much pain I'm in. Strep is the worst.

Enough about my sore throat, I loved a lot of stuff this month, as always, but Fall definitely brings out the best in me (and my favorites).



 //Boing Concealer + Eye Bright: I have been using this concealer every day, as mentioned in my 5 Minute Beauty Routine. I have been wearing my 5 Minute Beauty Routine every day because I need my extra 15 minutes of sleep. It's a life saver and I will definitely buy this again when I run out (which will be soon).



 //Pumpkin Spice: Yes & yes, I am that basic betch who lives for pumpkin spice everything. Between baking pumpkin bread, Pumpkin Spice Mini Wheats, Pumpkin Spice Fudge Cookies, and the classic PSL, I've done nothing but obsess over the flavor. My basicness has reached a new level when I received my Team PSL Coffee Sleeve in the mail. People may mock me but I don't care!



 //Bath & Body Works: I made a trip there last weekend and bought the store out. Two candles, three lotions, and one Pocket-bac, which all play into the fall theme. I may be cheating since it's only been a week but I haven't stopped using any of these things. Everything smells so good and so seasonal, I can't get enough. The lotions are super moisturizing and don't leave my hands feeling greasy at all. I will for sure be going back to get some Christmas things!

 //Mint: There will be a full post on this app/website this week so I won't go into too much detail. Mint is a budgeting website and they also have an app which makes for easy access. You hook up all your accounts and credit cards onto it and it helps you stay on track with your money. I don't necessarily think it's helped me stay on track because I've gone over budget, but it's very, very handy.

 //Burts Bee's Mint Cocoa Lip Balm: It's the cold season again so that means that I am on the hunt for the perfect lip balm. This one is in the running for sure. I saw this limited edition scent in Rite Aid a few weeks ago and it sparked my interest. I never use Burts Bee's but I wanted the seasonal scent (do we see a pattern here?) and it turned out to be very soft, moisturizing and leaves my lips super smooth. I may have to try out a few other Burts Bees scents if this one is working out so well.

 //Lilly Pulitzer Phone Case: I went a little overboard with the shopping this month and this was a frivolous purchase I didn't need. Lilly had a special gift with purchase sale a few weeks ago where you could get a free sleeping mask with any purchase. I took advantage of the fact that I desperately wanted the sleeping mask and bought myself a new phone case. I wasn't a fan of the Wild Confetti print online but once I received it, I fell in love. This phone case has also sparked my love of Lilly again. Can we also talk about this Lilly loves NYC case? Too bad I'm on a no-buy November!

I'll be doing a post on my No Buy November tomorrow because I really need to get my act together. I need to control myself and NOT BUY ANYTHING.

Best Products for the Under-eye | March 2015

Everyone has their makeup vices, the one product they have an influx of because they have that one problem area. I have mine and that is concealer + under-eye products. 

A few years back, when I first started getting into make-up and beauty, I realized there was something off about the way my make-up was applying. I didn't know what it was until it just hit me one day... my dark circles. I immediately went to Sephora to pick up the right concealer and with the help of a lovely sales girl, she gave me this Sephora brand concealer.

When she applied it, she used the Makeup Forever HD Powder to set it and I honestly looked like a different person. I couldn't stop looking in the mirror, I was in awe.

Of course when I tried to apply it the same way at home, it didn't look so effortless (mostly because I didn't have the powder or proper brushes)

Ever since then, I've been on a hunt to eliminate and hide my dark circles. They've gotten better and through my entire escape of allergies and eczema, the skin under my eye is now super sensitive but also appears and feels a lot smoother.

I've become truly obsessed with under-eye products; whenever there is a new one at Sephora or the drugstore, I have to stop myself from buying it. I'm addicted to make-up but under-eye products are my true true obsession. 

Because of this, I've tried a lot of eye creams, brighteners, and concealers that are awesome and some that are not so great. 

Like yesterday's post, this is a post I've been putting off because I didn't know if I had enough products but I decided there is no better time like the present.

These are the under-eye products that I will swear by and forever be in love with.



Benefit's Ooh La Lift: I think I've mentioned this on the blog before and I just started using it again. I need a new one desperately because mine is really old but it's awesome. It's an under eye brightener that you put on before concealer and it instantly brightens, lifts, and adds a touch of highlight. Some days I put this on even if I'm not applying make up because I just like the way it makes my eyes appear.

Benefit's Erase Paste: This was one of the first products I ever reviewed here and since then, I have not repurchased it because I've been experimenting with other concealers but I know this is will be a purchase in the near future. It's a salmon colored concealer that is made to correct the dark blue/purple circles under your eyes. It's really sticky but I think with a BeautyBlender, it would blend out beautifully.

Olay Fresh Effects Bright on Schedule: This is an eye awakening cream that I apply in the morning. It has a cool metal applicator that helps de puff the eyes and it also helps to brighten the area. It makes a nice canvas for concealer and I love it.

Maybelline Age Rewind & Fit Me Concealers: Maybelline is dominating the drugstore concealer game. Both of these are cult favorites amongst Youtube beauty bloggers. Both are really creamy, light concealers that really don't crease and truly cover up any dark circle you have. They're good for brightening as well and they're my most repurchased beauty products.

GlamGlow BrightMud Eye Treatment: I got this as a Sephora sample and used it a few times when I was trying to figure out what was wrong with my eyes and it was kind of life changing. I stopped using it because my eyes were getting worst. It wasn't because of the BrightMud but because of my allergy. When I did use this, I noticed a different the next morning. My eyes were softer, brighter, and a little less dark. I started using this again because I still had some left in the packet and it's been doing wonders.

Essence of Beauty Gel Eye Mask: This is a lifesaver and I've been using it everyday since I bought it in the summer. It's a soft gel mask that you can use cold or hot (I keep mine in the refrigerator) and I apply it every morning to depuff my eyes. It feels so good and actually makes a difference!

Beauty in Review: Recent Hauls | February 2015

I've come to the realization that beauty products are my vice. I cannot resist the latest launch from a major brand or buying something cool I see in a Youtube video.

My room/bathroom looks like a mixture of a drugstore and Sephora. As my mom puts it, "You have so much STUFF!" And I do, I cannot help it.

Over the past few months, as my makeup collection grew, I noticed myself blogging more about beauty and wanting to read more about beauty and beauty products.

It's a been a little while since I posted a review + haul and I've been collecting a fair amount of new products that I've been obsessing over. 

What better time to share them with you all then right now?


Maybelline Sensational Mascara: Maybelline is my favorite drugstore brand and I'd be lying if I said the rose gold packaging wasn't a major selling point but this mascara is really great. It has a curved wand and a very wet formula but it doesn't smudge. It applies like a dream and really lengthens and curls your lashes. I usually reserve this for a night out because it does add a bit of drama to the lashes.

Benefit Rollerlash: I received this from PopSugar a few days before the launch, at the beginning of the month. It came in label-less packaging and marketed as a "mystery" mascara. I used it and immediately fell in love. It has such a unique wand (similar to the Maybelline one) but has a much drier formula. I've been using it religiously and was so excited to find out it was Benefit because Benefit Cosmetics is one of my favorite high end brands. It really does curl your lashes and leave them long and separated. I've been using this as my "every day" mascara and I think I'll have to purchase it when I run out.

Too Faced La Creme Lipsticks: I found two of these (Loganberry and Cinnamon Kiss) in Nordstrom Rack for $8!!!! each. They're usually $22 a piece so it was a true steal. The third one is Nude Beach and I got that in my Too Faced Better Than Chocolate Essentials kit. These have their pros and cons but I'm really obsessed. They have a glossy finish and smudge a tad bit if you're not careful when applying. The wear time isn't fantastic but they feel really light on the lips, almost like a tinted lip balm but the pigementation is insane. The packaging is hands down, the most beautiful thing I've ever seen and I'm in love. I really do want all of these, I cannot get enough.

Rimmel Stay Matte Primer: I've been experimenting with primers recently and I wanted to find a good one from the drugstore. While in CVS one day, I quickly googled "good drugstore primers" and this one was the first I found. It's a creamy, white consistency and is a little bit tacky when applied but quickly dries down to a true matte finish. It makes my foundation stay matte all day and really doesn't allow any oils to get through. My skin has been really dry so this will definitely become a staple in the summer months when I'm really oily. It really is one of the best primers Ive found, drugstore or luxury brand.

Maybelline Fit Me Concealer: This has been said it's a dupe for the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer (I've never used the Nars one but I figured it was worth a mention) and some people say it's even better than Nars. It covers my dark circles, doesn't dry out my under eyes, brightens, and blends effortlessly. It's incredible and definitely a front runner for favorite drug store concealer. 

CoverGirl Ready Set Gorgeous Foundation: I mentioned this in my January favorites but I figured it was worth mentioning again. This is the only foundation I've been wearing since I got it and I'm really impressed. It gives a satin finish, more matte when I use the Rimmel Stay Matte Primer and lasts all day. It blends out beautifully and gives medium to full coverage; the consistency isn't too liquidy or too thick, it's probably the perfect foundation for anyone—normal, dry, or oily skin!

Ulta Haul | October 2014

I have never been to an Ulta, never seen one in person but longed for the feeling of this beauty product heaven.

Too much of my surprise and delight, a brand new Ulta store opened up at a local shopping center near my house and I was busting at the seams to take a visit.

Well, this weekend, during NYC' rainy weather I trekked out and made that special visit. 

Oh.My.God.

I was so overwhelmed I almost left. I couldn't handle it. It also doesn't help that I went when I'm trying to save money. 

This Ulta was HUGE. I swear, I could've stayed all day. I should've taken photos but I was so overwhelmed and sweating profusely. 

There was the luxury side of the store, filled with Bare Minerals, Too Faced, Urban Decay, Benefit, and more. Then the drug store side with literally every drug store product imaginable (and for cheaper price). There were sections for skincare, hair accessories, and hair products. They even had  a hair salon and a Benefit Brow Bar. 

I was so excited I could've passed out but I went to Ulta with a list of things I wanted to get and couldn't stray from that. I couldn't spend a lot of money and even put a few thing down that I knew I didn't really need (even though I wanted desperately). I'll go back for them though! 


NYX was having 40% off so I knew I needed to get some products that have been on my wish list. I also wanted to try out the new Maybelline Tinted Brow Gel and buy some liquid foundation.

Good news is that all these products were fully in stock!


NYX HD Concealer Wand: I have heard rave reviews about this concealer and how it magically take away your dark circles. In my local drugstore and Target that carries NYX never had this concealer so I took advantage. I used this concealer as soon as I bought it, in pair with my new foundation, and oh my goodness, my skin looked flawless. I didn't look like myself at all, it was wonderful. The concealer has a normal, creamy, consistency and the color from the bottle onto my skin was true to form. It blended well with my beauty blender and was just a dream. This is hands down, my new favorite drug store concealer. 

Loreal True Match Foundation: Once again, I've heard rave reviews about this and it was on my Fall Beauty Wish List. I finally took the plunge and I'm delighted with the results. I got the shade "Natural Beige" and was totally overwhelmed by the number of shade choices. I hit the nail on the head though because Natural Beige is perfect for me. It's a very liquid consistency, something I was not expecting (I don't know why because it's a LIQUID foundation) but it blended out really well with my beauty blender. My skin looked flawless and I was so happy with it! This is a new holy grail product for me.

NYX Butter Gloss in Tiramisu: Butter gloss is heaven sent and I needed another one in my life. I wanted a darker color but once again, was so overwhelmed by all the shades, I couldn't think straight. I had seen this one floating around Youtube and beauty blogs everywhere so I thought I'd try it out. It's a perfect darker fall gloss with not too much color and feels like a dream on your lips.   

NYX Slim Lip Pencil in Ever: To go with all my fall lip shades, I needed a neutral colored lip liner. This was probably the first one I saw and decided it was closest to all my lip shades. I used it with my Maybelline Matte Lipstick in Touch of Spice and it blended perfectly! 

Maybelline Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara: This has been compared to Benefit's Gimme Brow Tinted Brow Gel so I needed to try it out. I love a good, clear brow gel but I've been meaning to experiment with tinted brow gels. After watching a few reviews, I knew I needed it. I used it with my Billion Dollar Brow Universal Brow Pencil and this was great for just filling in all the tiny spaces I couldn't hit with the pencil. It also is super strong and my brows didn't move an inch. Another holy grail beauty product added to the list.

I was in a rush while getting ready to go out so I didn't take any pictures of the products on my face but I will do an updated beauty routine with these products so you can see them in use :)

Recent Beauty Hauls | September 2014

I've been mentioning over the past few weeks that I've bought a hefty amount of beauty products since graduating in May. I went on a bit of a spiral and got into a few fights with my mom about be spending money on frivolous beauty items.

Mind you, almost all of the products were purchased from the drugstore because there are definitely some hidden gems there.

I feel like I've been putting off this post for a while but with Fall coming in, I thought it would finally be a good time to buckle down and finally write this post. 

This isn't my entire beauty routine (that is pretty much the same from a few months ago) but a few of the products that I've purchased in the last few months and whether I like them or not.


Beauty Blender: This baby has been on my wish list for a good two years now. Beauty gurus and Vloggers everywhere swear by it and I felt like I was the only one missing out on it. I don't wear liquid foundation (I'm going to start though) so I never saw the need for it but then I saw someone on youtube use a Beauty Blender for concealer and my eyes were suddenly paying a lot closer attention. I tried using a dupe from Amazon a few years ago and it just wasn't the same. 

I was in Sephora last weekend, saw it, and knew I needed it. It was definitely an impulse purchase but I couldn't help it. I've been using it all week to apply my concealer and the difference is definitely there. It doesn't crease as easily, it creates a smoother surface and my under eyes look a lot brighter and better. This baby is golden.


Milani Lipsticks: I received a Milani Lipstick in "Best Red" in my Her Campus Her Conference goodie bag and was surprised at how smooth and pigmented it was. I never wore it because it's the summer and red lips are reserved (for me) for special Fall and Winter occasions. I was bored last week and decided to try it on to see what it was all about. My goodness! The red is so red and so smooth and moisturizing on your lips. It doesn't even really feel like lipstick. I usually stick to lip balms and stains but the Milani lipsticks have changed my life. I went out and bought a nude color in "Teddy Bare" which looks like a more brown, nude on your lips than nude-nude but it's the perfect Fall color. I'm OBSESSED.

Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealer: I started seeing the trend of highlighting your under eye areas and figured that was something I should get into. I read some reviews and decided on my beloved Maybelline. I don't use this as much as I should because I was so tan this summer so it looked weird under my eyes. I also don't think this looked good as a regular concealer but better in addition to another, regular under eye concealer. Adding a little bit of this pink highlighter brightened up your under eye area and concealed dark circles. It's pretty great.

Covergirl + Olay Eye Rehab Concealer: I was really desperate for a new concealer at the beginning of the summer and just randomly picked this up because it was specifically made for the under-eye area AND it was color correcting. I'm pretty sure that's the kind of concealer I need. Once again, I got too tan this summer to use it a lot but now that I'm a little paler, I've been using it and it's pretty great stuff. I definitely need to utilize it more but from what I see, it does a great job at covering my under eye circles. As for the actual color correcting, I haven't seen too big of a difference but we'll see.

Maybelline Make-up Haul

I don't know what's gotten into me the past few weeks but my spending habits have been out of control.    If you're familiar with my blog, you'll know that I have a serious shopping problem and that when I have any kind of extra money in my bank account, I spend it. 

I don't have any extra money in my account and I've been spending it like I have.

Well, in actuality, I haven't really; everything I'm going to talk about was bought using my mom's credit card, it was all on sale and then I threw my mom a $20 because I felt bad.

I was in dire need of new makeup (although, doesn't it always feel like I'm buying new makeup to replace the old?). My Urban Decay BB Cream was on it's way out, I needed to invest in a new, different kind of blush and bronzer, and my ELF concealer was on it's last leg.

I needed some new stuff desperately. 

I went to the drug store over Easter break and was browsing a bit when I saw that Maybelline was buy one get one 50% off. I jumped at the chance and got some products I've been lusting over.

My sorority sister brought something up the other day; she looked at my make-up bag and said "You really love Maybelline don't you?". And I think I brought this up the last time I reviewed new make-up... I am so brand loyal to Maybelline.

I don't know what it is but I just always flock to them and sometimes I don't even realize it's their products I'm picking up in the drugstore. To me, they have really high quality products as well as fun innovative ones such as the FIT Me Stick Foundation and Dream Bouncy Blush. No one else in the drugstore game is doing that and I applaud Maybelline's efforts.

Enough boasting, lets get down to business, shall we?

I bought four amazing products that I am not even slightly disappointed with.


Dream Fresh BB Cream, Dream Bouncy Blush, Master Bronzer, and Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer. 

The concealer is something I've purchased in the past and it's my third time re-buying it. I'm skeptical with concealers because it's something I really, truly need every single day. I always search for drugstore finds because they're cheaper yet still work really well. I haven't tried a bunch of drug store concealers mostly because I'm scared of wasting my money and I know this one works wonders on my terrible dark circles. It really covers and conceals and highlights my under eye area, leaving me with a nice, flawless finish.

The Dream Fresh BB Cream is something I've picked up and put down so many times while in the drug store. I've read reviews on it when I was first in the market for a BB Cream and they weren't good. That's when I bought the Garnier Fructics BB Cream but I was so incredibly disappointed with that one.



I've been trying to justify this BB Cream purchase and with the warmer weather coming up and me never wanting to do a full face of make-up during the summer heat waves, I decided now was just a good a time as any. I was definitely not disappointed with this BB Cream. 

It has the same texture as my Urban Decay Naked cream, watery but holds up to consistency when you squeeze it out of the tube. It doesn't have as much of a tint as I'd like so some bronzer over it doesn't hurt but wearing stand alone is fine as well. When I first apply it, I can feel the cream on my face but after a few minutes that feeling is gone. The first day I wore it, everyone complimented me on the coverage and how flawlessly finished my face looked. It was awesome and I'll never doubt Maybelline again.

Blush was never my thing. I always felt awkward wearing it and thought it made me look like a clown. It wasn't until my NARS Orgasm Blush that I saw the importance of tinting your cheeks. Ever since then, I've really only used 'Orgasm' and been in the market for a new one. Blush is also something that I'm skeptical about buying because you never know what the color will look like on your cheek.


While on my buying binge, I chucked every care out the window and bought the Dream Bouncy Blush which is of cream texture. Cream blushes are strange to me because I don't really know how to apply them but I used my ELF Blush Brush that is not big enough for powder blush to apply the Bouncy Blush to the apples of my cheeks and I'm obsessed. It's the perfect color for Spring and Summer and the cream consistency will definitely stand up to the heat.

The last new product I bought was the Master Bronze by FaceStudio which I think is a new line by Maybelline. It's a simple matte bronzer that is perfect for everyday wear. The only reason I bought this was because Rite Aid didn't have the Rimmel London bronzer I usually use but I'm really happy with this purchase. It goes on really well with a Kabuki brush and gives me a nice glow without being too overpowering. I also am obsessed with the sleek packaging!

Overall, Maybelline never ever disappoints me and they always leave me with a great everyday make-up look! There's no doubt in my mind that these four products will be constantly in my beauty routine as the weather warms up!

Erase Any Other Concealer

For the past for months, I've been on the search for the perfect under eye concealer. I've noticed that my under eye area is donned with dark circles that no concealer could cure. 

It was starting to really annoy me because I just wanted to get rid of these circles! I felt that my makeup never looked as good as it could because of the dark circles--it threw everything else off.

I've experimented with different kinds, everything from Sephora to drug store brands but nothing was ever quite good enough or it just stopped working after a while. 

I wanted something that was durable, that would last, and make those dark circles disappear.

A Sephora consultant told me that I needed to find a color corrector which I have looked for but nothing satisfied me.

I have a love affair with Benefit Cosmetics and after receiving some Benefit in my July Birchbox, I decided to take the jump and buy a concealer from them. I read the reviews and scanned the online shops and decided to order the ever popular Erase Paste in shade Medium from the Birchbox shops.


I was anxious to receive it and it came sooner than expected which completely delighted me.

It was a nice size pot of concealer (which as a rather sticky base) along with a little spatula to spoon out the cream. It even comes with a little pamphlet of instructions to tell you the proper ways to apply this concealer. 

I tried it out as soon as I got it and I have to say, it completely changed the way my face looked. It was so strong but very smooth; it was a bit sticky but after a good amount of blending, it was fine. I did still feel it on my face, it felt like I was wearing concealer (it wasn't uncomfortable at all) but if that is the price I have to pay to have dark circles covered, then so be it!



I learned after using this product twice that a little goes a long way and there is no need to use a heaping amount of concealer. 

I'm obsessed with Erase Paste and I don't think I'll ever buy another concealer ever again.

As a little bonus, in my Birchbox, I received a discount code for a deluxe sample of Cha Cha Tint from Benefit. I've been battling with myself on whether or not to try one of these tint products. I am not a lover of liquid blushes or any kind of stains but I thought having a deluxe sample would be a great way to try out if I liked them.





UM...I loved it! The peach color that ChaCha comes in is perfect for the summertime and applying a good amount on my cheeks really brightened my face up, more than any powder blush could've. Liquid blushes and stains are great for summer too because they show up and hold up better than powders.

Altogether, Benefit has amazing products and I will definitely be buying more in the future.

My Make-Up Routine

I used to be one of those girls who didn't need to wear makeup to leave the house; there were definitely days where I just didn't feel like putting makeup on and did just that. As I got older and found new products, that changed.

Nowadays, I never leave the house without makeup, expect that occasional Saturday or Sunday morning. I do not, however, slather on a whole new face every single day. My make-up routine is nothing special; it's pretty ordinary since I don't have much make-up experience (I'm learning though!)

I don't put foundation on every day (or ever really) or any other heavy face makeup. It's really rather simple.

Eyes


I start with my eyes because I heard somewhere a while back that you should always do your eye makeup first, incase anything falls, it won't ruin your face makeup. I apply a Sephora eye primer, then usually use my "Almay Intense I Color Black Pearl eyeliner." I love retractable eye liners because I feel they go on better.

My new favorite eyeliner is the Eyeko Liquid Eye Pen that I mentioned here. That gives off a darker, heavier eye look so I don't usually use that for an everyday eye but it does sneak into my routine every now and then.

My eyeshadow choice varies; I usually will go for a gold or brown shade but sometimes I choose purple. I have "Urban Decay: Freakshow" which is the purple I use the most. It's a deep purple color that goes on heavy if you aren't careful. It's such a gorgeous shade. Urban Decay has some great eyeshadow.

I had the special Sephora Holiday makeup set that comes with a crazy amount of eyeshadows, lip glosses, and a bunch of other stuff--that is the eyeshadow I primarily used. This Christmas though, I got the Smashbox Be Discovered beauty set so I've been using that. It has great eyeshadow shades, very up to date and rich. 

As for mascara, I'll use "Maybelline The Colossal Volume Express." It has a great brush that doesn't clump your lashes together and really makes a difference in your look. I also use the "ModelCO LashXtend" which isn't as thick or heavy as the Colossal...it gives a more subtle, toned down look.

If I remember, I'll curl my lashes before applying to mascara but mostly I forget. WHOOPS.

Face



My face is very very simple. 

I apply concealer under my eyes, either "Revlon Color-stay Under Eye Concealer" in Medium or "MAC Studio Finish Concealer Broad Spectrum". Both work great but I prefer the MAC--it's not a liquid, it's a cream base and I like how that comes out a lot better.

After concealer, I put on pressed powder- "Covergirl Pressed Powder in buff beige". That's usually it for the face--sometimes if I'm feeling extra pale I'll put on some bronzer. 

I have a "Too Faced" powder bronzer or a "Stila" liquid bronzer--they are very different, the Stila one gives a more bronzed look so I usually use that one for when I go out at night.

I will apply a highlighter, "Mary Lou Manizer" highlighter to my brow bone which gives a more finished look to my face.

I've been experimenting with blush a little more and I'm really starting to love it; I use the blush I got in the Smashbox Be Discovered set so that will eventually weed it's way into my normal routine.

See? It's simple, nothing insane but I'm hoping to take it up a notch in the new year as a I learn and experiment more with different kinds of make up.
