Is it redundant if I say I'm happy the week is over? It was another tough one and the weekend is much needed. I was off from work today (woo summer fridays!) and I accomplished a lot: the gym, a pedicure, visited my grandpa and a ton of other random errands.

The weekend will be spent at brunch and doing some writing. I'm hoping to get myself organized with a few different projects and find some peace because I've been really restless and unsettled the past few weeks so I need to get myself together. I feel like I say that a lot but it's true.

I'm currently in bed, watching Grey's Anatomy (again) and trying to check some stuff off my to-do list in a peaceful manner. I don't have much else to say so let's get into the round up!

What a week! Honestly, it wasn't so bad. I was a little off but the weather in New York was beautiful! It was what they call a 'Fool's Spring' since the temperatures are going to drop again this weekend and snow is in the forecast for Tuesday.

This week honestly had me looking forward to the warmer weather but it also gave me a bit of anxiety. Warm weather always makes me a little nervous because I get the worst FOMO -- I constantly feel like I need to be doing something or I feel like everyone is always doing more than me.

It also gave me bad deja vu because it was the year anniversary of Covid and it just brought back a lot of weird memories. I'm going to write about it in Monday's post but it was a really strange feeling... like I can't believe it was only a year ago but I also can't believe we've been living like this an entire year. I honestly do not know how I am going to do life post pandemic... I don't know how I'm going to go back to work, or not wear a mask -- I'm just nervous about a lot of things right now.

I will save that for Monday though...

This weekend I am spending at home, getting things done and relaxing, as usual. Sunday I'll be going for brunch with my friends and I am excited to sip on mimosas!

This week was also taken over by thoughts of Meghan Markle and the Royal Family. I wrote a newsletter about the situation on Sunday before the interview and will surely be writing on this Sunday so make sure you are signed up for the newsletter. I've been writing more random, rambling newsletters, mostly centered around pop culture and I love it. I have so many thoughts that don't fit into content pillars for Royally Pink, I feel like the newsletter is a fun, extra post I can provide! Sign up here. Also, Team Meg & Harry.

Pink Positivity of the Week

I have been reading nonstop! This week alone I finished 4 books. When the work day is over, I've worked out, eaten dinner, written my blog posts for the week and just need to decompress, I've been cracking open a book. My plan was to read 60 books in 2021... according to Goodreads I am 11 books ahead of schedule since it is only mid March and I've read 22 books so far this year.

I read so fast, I simply cannot stop myself. I also read more than one book at at time, which helps. I might do a post on how I read so fast... I think that would be interesting! It really has been a positive light in my life lately and has helped me get through some bad times.

What I Bought This Week

I cracked this week for the sole reason that Stoney Clover did a 20% off sale. The brand NEVER does sales apart from Black Friday and the sale was one day only, and around items that the brand was discontinuing. I felt like I had to shop because it was my last chance to purchase items I've been wanting. I'm not counting this toward Lent, even though I should... but at the beginning my only stipulation was Stoney Clover new launches/discontinuations. I'm not going to link the items since they are all sold out but if you follow me on Instagram, you saw them!

Happy Sunday! Happy Thanksgiving week! This is usually my favorite week of the year and this year, well, it's melancholy. I'm trying to remain in the spirit as best as I could but I know we're all feeling a bit 'meh'. The good news? We put up our Christmas tree over the weekend and it is definitely brightened up my mood.

My birthday is also in a week, I'll be 28 and I'm just not feeling it this year. I don't know if it's because of Covid, or because of my breakup earlier this year but I kind of wish I could just skip over it. Maybe it's because I'm two years away from 30 and I'm having an identity crisis? It's just really weird, I feel weird and need to try to get my shit together.

Crisis and holidays aside, I watched more of The Crown season 4 last night, followed by a documentary on Princess Diana, and wow, it just brought up a ton of feelings. I've been obsessed with the royals for a very long time since I was a little girl (I mean, my blog name is named after them) so I've always known a lot about Princess Diana. However, seeing it play out in fiction, and just reliving the stories I've always heard is really heartbreaking. I could talk about this for hours and just might in another post or newsletter.

As I sit here on Sunday afternoon, watching Youtube videos and nursing a horrible migraine, I'm looking forward to a short work week and Thanksgiving dinner on Thursday. Let's get into the wrap-up...

Pink Positivity of the Week

I had Friendsgiving on Thursday and it was great! We had delicious food, decorated cookies and it was nice to be with friends. *I've been seeing my friends socially distanced for a while and we pretty much know where everyone has been. I also don't see anyone outside my house so I'm not concerned*

Also, has any noticed the NEW blog layout?! I've been struggling with the branding of Royally Pink and what I wanted this blog to look like, but finally found something that really fits. It might look a little confusing but to me, it looks more professional. I hope you like it!

Wow... it is the last weekend of 2019 and I simply cannot believe it. It's the typical thing to say both online and IRL but the year really did fly by.

Christmas was simply wonderful and I'm spending the next few days at home, recharging, making goals and catching up on all the TV and Youtube I missed while I was rewatching Christmas movies. I'm looking forward to the next week or so... this really is my favorite week of the year.

I rambled on in all my posts this week so I'm making the last round up short and sweet!

Make sure you stay tuned to the blog for more 2019 wrap up posts, the newsletter for some exciting announcements, and even on my Youtube channel which I'm planning to start up again in 2020.

I hope you all enjoyed my Royal Round-Up posts this year. They have definitely transformed over time but I do love sharing my favorite links (I do a lot of reading on the internet during the week) so I hope you enjoy reading as much as I enjoy putting them together!

Cheers to the last weekend of the year!

What I Bought This Week

Before I start my no-buy in January, I picked up a few things I've been wanting... even if it was Christmas week!

*Kylie Cosmetics is having 20% off right now and I couldn't help but scoop up this Candy K Try It Kit that I've had my eye on. I will report back on how I like it!

*Also, with the new Little Women movie coming out I've been more intrigued by the novel. I picked up this adorable version at Amazon and can't wait to dive into it!

Below are a few other items I purchased this week!

We are just one week away from November, my 2nd favorite month of the year and I am ready. The past few weeks have been nuts and I'm kind of ready for it to slow down. I'm working from home today so I have a bit of a long weekend and I'm very thankful.

I feel like I've been letting a lot of things fall by the waist side; my room is a mess, my hair is a mess, my nails are a mess -- I just feel a little crazy and I think I need a day to catch up. I also have a million ideas rolling around in my head that I want to get down on paper; there just aren't enough hours in the week or enough energy in my body.

Right now, I'm watching Hocus Pocus for the millionth time this month and relaxing in bed. I'm hoping to get to sleep ASAP so I could wake up tomorrow and have a wonderful Friday.

Now, let's hop right into the recap of the week!

Another strange week in the books! I was off from work on Monday because I went to see Billy Joel the night before, and then off on Thursday to get my stitches removed. My wound didn't heal properly so I have to keep Steri Strips on for 2 weeks and then go see him again. UGH.

I also thought I was off on Monday for Colombus Day and it turns out my office is open. I have been thinking for months that I had October 8th off and it turns out I don't. It's a bit of a bummer but I've been so busy at work, it kind of works out.

I'm looking forward to a fun, relaxing weekend with some friends and also have some alone time. It will be spent blogging, watching Hocus Pocus and relishing in the first full weekend of October.

I don't think I mentioned this previously but I've been writing for The Newsette. It's such an incredible company and the best newsletter to wake up too! I love theSkimm to get my worldly news but I love The Newsette for some fun, lifestyle news. They also have an amazing website that changes daily (just like a newspaper) and I've been writing for the website.

My first article was about the Most Lavish Beauty Products of Summer 2018 and my 2nd one was published this week; all about what to do when you don't get your dream job. I'll have more coming so look out for them here and on social media!

There's not much left to say so here's everything from the week!

This is a few days late, mostly because I haven't had a moment of downtime since Friday afternoon. I was planning on getting some stuff done on Friday night but then was hit with the worst ovulation pains. Has anyone ever experienced that? About two weeks before your period, you start ovulating and the pain feels worst than any period cramps I've ever had.

This never happened to me when I was younger but the pain started coming like clockwork about 6-8 months ago. I knew what it was because my sister used to have such bad ovulation pains that she went to the hospital when she was younger. It's terrible!

I was debilitated all Friday night, and then yesterday had my cousins' baby shower and a date last night (yes, a date -- maybe I'll share more soon but for now, I'm tight-lipped!) so I just haven't had a moment to myself.

Earlier in the week, if you follow me on social media, you'll know that I was in Miami for a work trip. I was supposed to come home Tuesday afternoon but because it was raining here in NYC, our flight was delayed and rebooked for Wednesday at 7 AM. I've never had a flight delayed so I was beside myself but once we realized we were going to be staying in Miami for one more night, I calmed down.

I went back to my hotel room (they upgraded us to a 1 bedroom suite which was amazing) and worked for hours, watched Bachelor in Paradise and ordered room service. I woke up at 4 AM the next morning and was home by 11 AM. It was nice to have an early flight to get home and be able to work and have the entire day.

It was a whirlwind week and I am finally catching up to realizing what day/time it is.

Tomorrow I had down to QVC for work and I'm there till Wednesday so it'll be a hectic week -- bare with me!

I seem to be in a bit of a writer's rut and my editorial calendar is totally blank for the next few weeks. I need to do some soul searching/topic searching because I'm just at a standstill... even though I feel like I've been doing pretty good at taking Royally Pink more seriously.

We'll see!

Wow... we're on week 30 of the roundup and the year is pretty much halfway over. August is around the corner and then you know what that means... Fall is so, so soon.

I've been thinking about my favorite season more and more the past week or so but I almost don't want it to come, so that it will last longer. It makes no sense but I have a feeling a lot of you know what I mean.

I think I mentioned this last week but I haven't been hating the summer. I haven't done anything super exciting and the weather has been super crazy hot and humid, but it's actually not bothering me. I haven't complained and it's been kind of refreshing. It's interesting how your body changes as the years go on and things that once bothered you don't really anymore.

In other news, I feel like I accomplished something this week. I told you all that I wanted to take Royally Pink up a level and one week is down. I shared more of my posts on Instagram Stories, scheduled a bunch of evergreen content on social media, and did a few other things that I hope make a difference in the future.

I've always heard that if you want your blog to be a business, you need to treat it like one. I think I'm finally realizing how much I want this to grow and be something special. No more joking around here, kiddos. I'm bringing out the big guns!

It's been so exciting this past week to take a different approach to content and the blog so I'm excited to see what else I have in me.

I have a Summer Friday today so it will be spent doing a little work, a few errands, and other things. The weekend will also be lowkey which I'm excited for -- the past 2 weeks have been super stressful at work and in my personal life

Anywho... here is everything I loved this week!

TGIF! Do I start off every Royal Round Up like that?

It's a nice long weekend for me -- 6 days off to be exact and I'm so excited! I have a summer Friday today, took off on Monday because I thought I was going away and then off for 4th of July on Tuesday & Wednesday.

I'm hoping to relax, get a lot of stuff done and maybe hang out with some friends. Sometimes you just need a long vacation to chill out!

Last night I rearranged my room because we had to move my sister's dresser into my room. She graduated college last month and will be moving home soon so she needed a bit more space in her room, and she didn't need the dresser.

I was unsure if I would like it but I have fallen in love with how my new room looks. I always liked rearranging my room; sometimes, when I was little, I'd come home from school and my cleaning lady would have rearranged my entire room. I LOVED IT because I felt like I had a new space and love a good interior design change.

It keeps things interesting, I guess.

My desk is now in the corner near my windows which feels cozy and productive, I have a dresser to make organization easier, and I switched my handbag display on its side to create more wall space. I'm in love!

This post is coming super late because I was so busy last night and was out all day today. I went to Tiffanys and literally balled out (not really but it felt like it). I walked in and knew exactly what I wanted, looked around for a bit and just bought them. It was awesome and I've never done that.

I purchased the Bead Bracelet with the blue Tiffany heart, and the Bone China Coffee Cups (I didn't spend $95 on cups -- I had a gift card from a contest I won at a conference and used that!)

Now it's time for the things I loved on the Internet this week!

We are pretty much halfway through the year at this point and I'm so excited! I feel like I've been starting off all my Royal Round Up posts with that sort of language.

Summer officially started this week, I had another article published on Popsugar and 4th of July vacation is just around the corner -- I'm taking a super long, much-needed vacation (might not travel anywhere but the days off will be good) and I'm so excited.

However, I'm not really in the mood to celebrate the country or the 4th of July because of the atrocities that are happening at the Mexican border. I can't simply put into words what I'm feeling but Eva from Happily Eva After did an amazing job at explaining how I think a lot of us feel.

It was National Wear Your Lilly Day this week -- I was rocking my
Lilly tote over the weekend!

Anyways...

TGIF! This week was super long and I'm so happy to have a summer Friday today. It's Thursday and I'm writing this and I'm so exhausted -- it's always Thursday nights that are the toughest because I'm coming down from the week and know that it's almost over.

I have a busy weekend ahead of me with running errands, friends, and then a family dinner for Father's Day. I expect myself to get a little sad this weekend because, for the past 2 years, Father's Day is very sad, of course. It just makes me really emotional and I just want to hide out in my room but I do celebrate with my grandpa and that's nice.

Either way, I am excited that I have a 3-day weekend. They are simply the best! I wish they were the norm for all corporate companies LOL.

My mind is like soup right now so I'm not going to ramble too much and get right into the links I loved this week!

This was a very long week and I'm happy it's over. Everything just dragged on and there were some little things that really annoyed me but it's the weekend!

Another reason the week sucked is because Kate Spade died. I wrote my post a few hours after I found out (and just posted it later that night) and I don't know if my emotions really came across that.

It was such a shock to hear that such a beloved designer who is responsible for one of the happiest brands out there took her own life. It just goes to show you that you don't know what's going on in someone's mind. Depression and anxiety provide you with a mask and you can wear it whenever you need to.

It's very interseting and of course, the conversation around mental health has been out in the open this week. I've always been very open about it because I was never embarassed about it but I understand that there are closed minded people out there that don't believe in anxiety and depression as real illnesses but guess what, it is.

I'm so sad for Kate Spade's family, especially her daughter who is only 13 years old. I honestly haven't been able to talk about it too much because I'm just so sad.

I've always felt that Kate Spade was a little cool club that only a handful of people really cared about the brand, myself included. However, the outpouring of love for Kate and the brand she built was insane. I was shocked at how many people actually had a true passion for the brand, even Anna Wintour who made a beautiful statement.

Her death has really shook me up in ways I didn't think ever would so it was definitely a weird week for me.

Anyways... here's what I loved this week... get ready for a lot of KS tributes

Have a great weekend everyone!

Happy June everyone! We're almost halfway through the year and we're just a few more months away from the fall season!

You know me, always counting down to my favorite season ever.

However, I have really been enjoying the little good weather we've gotten in New York over the past few weeks. I feel like it's been raining for months which I don't really mind because I find the rain very soothing.

Today I had my first Summer Friday of the season aka I was off from work. I spent the morning at the doctor's for a checkup appointment and then ran some errands and went to the gym. In case you were wondering, I also took a nap which has become my weekend routine. I have never napped as much as I have in the past month. I just can't get through the day without a nap.

Is this what getting old feels like?

I recorded two Youtube videos today so I'm hoping to get those up on my channel soon. I need to be more regular with that but writing is so much easier (for me) than filming and editing a video! LOL

Anyways, tomorrow I'll head to the gym again and then to the mall to return some stuff to Nordstrom (sneakers and this Kate Spade shirt) and then maybe pop into Kate Spade and Sephora to treat myself to something. We shall see!

For now, here are the links I loved this week:

We're a little late with the roundup this week but the good news is that it's a holiday weekend! I have been counting down the days to MDW for a few weeks now because I just needed a break... and an excuse to binge watch something.

It's Sunday, it's raining, and I'm on my couch watching Southern Charm: How They Got Here -- thank you Bravo!

So far, this weekend has been better than most. Friday night I went to the Yankee game with my family tree (sorority tree that is) and it was so much fun. I hadn't been to Yankee Stadium in 4 years and I forgot how much I loved it. For the past few years, I've been going to Citi Field because all my friends are Mets fans.

I grew up a Yankee fan and my dad was the biggest Yankee fan so being in Yankee Stadium made me feel very connected to him. At one point I even got emotional and teared up -- it was very weird but it's the little things, right?

Last night I went to the city for my uncle's 60th birthday and it was just a nice night out with my family. That's why now I'm planning on relaxing for the next two days. My anxiety is a little high, but I'm relishing in the fact that I have no plans today and tomorrow.

In the meantime, here are my favorite links of the week:

What a weekend!!

It started off very happy on Friday with my sister's college graduation. It was a really bittersweet day because I was so happy to be with my family but I was really sad that my dad wasn't there. Another milestone spent without him really got me worked up.

However, it was a beautiful day and it was interesting to sit through a college graduation without being the one graduating.

I was exhausted after a long day on Friday so I came home, ran a few errands and then passed out around 9:30 AM. Hence why this blog post is coming to you on a Sunday afternoon.

Then, it was time for my Olympics. I woke up at 5 AM on Saturday morning to watch the wedding of the year -- the Royal Wedding.

I didn't do any royal wedding coverage here on the blog but that's why we're talking about it now. I was so excited and so emotional while watching the wedding. I had my tea and scones ready (and some coffee for the American in me) and I watched the first bi-racial woman marry into the Royal Family.

It was a simply magical day and my love for the Royal Family, especially Meghan and Harry (the Duke and Duchess of Sussex) has grown 10x.

Here are some of my favorite moments:

  • All the celebrities from Oprah to George Clooney to Spencer from Pretty Little Liars
  • THE HATS. GIVE ME ALL THE FASCINATORS
  • Princess Charlotte once again stole the show when she turned around to give one last wave to the crowd
  • Meghan's dress reveal was insane. I loved her dress so much; it was simple, elegant and everything I could ever want. Also, the veil was everything.
  • Meghan walking down the aisle was simply heart stopping. She looked like she was in a movie, a Disney movie to be specific.
  • All the smiling, laughing and lovey-dovey eyes between the bride and groom

  • That veil lift -- oh just strike me dead.
  • The laughter throughout the church as Harry and Meghan recited their vows made my heart sing

  • The kiss - that kiss was everything. It was a surprise and it was a beat or two too long which was wonderful

  • The procession throughout the town of Berkshire was truly something out of a fairytale. It was amazing

  • Her 2nd dress for the reception was jaw-dropping! It was beautiful!

After the royal wedding, I took a nap and then lounged around until it was time to head to the Mets game. It was really gross and rainy out but I had a great time at the game.

Now, it's time to round up my favorite articles about the Royal Wedding!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend and have a great week ahead!

Friday is here again! I was exhausted this week and that is thanks to the pollen that is killing me slowly. My allergies have not been this bad in years but this week, whew, they threw me and everyone around me for a loop.

Because of that, I fell asleep stupid early Tuesday & Wednesday night -- I'm talking 8:30 PM early. It was wild but I felt really well rested.

Iced coffee season is in full swing as well and I have been enjoying every sip. It's a very random thought but I felt the need to share.

I know I said this before, but I'm so happy its Spring. I'm really enjoying the season so far and next weekend is going to be the first real Spring weekend. It's my sister's graduation, the Royal Wedding, and I'm going to a Mets game sponsored by Barstool Sports. I'm PUMPED.

I read a lot of articles this week -- it felt really good to absorb so much content. Here's everything I loved:

Happy Friday!! Did anyone else feel like this was the longest week ever?? The days dragged on.

It was a bittersweet week, for personal reasons but I got through it and I'm happy to have it be Friday. I worked from home today because I had a doctor's appointment right smack in the middle of the day. It's a good day to work from home too because it's rainy and gross outside.

There is nothing I love more than waking up to the sound of the rain and knowing I don't have to commute. I am just obsessed with the rain!

It was also a great excuse to break out my Jack Rogers Rain Boots which do not get enough love in my wardrobe.

ALSO: THE ROYAL BABY WAS BORN! It was the perfect way to start the week off and we finally found out his name today: Louis Arthur Charles!

This week also gave us the first real taste of Spring, and I kind of loved it. It was so refreshing to wear a light jacket instead of a huge winter coat. I've also really been into Spring fashion and looking for new items for my wardrobe.

I just did a huge shop at Ann Taylor Loft and J.Crew Factory and I am totally obsessed. I will try to do a post or video about them soon.

I went to brunch on Sunday and it was amazing!

Speaking of video, did you see my latest Youtube video from last week? I showed you everything I've been shopping lately! Subscribe to my channel here.

Anyways, enough rambling. Here's everything I loved this week!

Royal Roundup: Week 6

in , , by RoyallyPink, 11:38 AM
This is a date late but with good reason. Work completely kicked my ass this week and I had a mental breakdown on Thursday morning, while at work. YUP. I cried at my desk and almost had a panic attack. It was really bad and has only ever happened once or twice before.

I was completely swamped and overwhelmed. I have never felt like this at work before and to be honest, I don't want to get too much into it.

It's Saturday morning, I'm watching Youtube videos and getting ready for the day. I have some errands to run, some work to do, and I just need to clear my mind. I've been waking up with massive anxiety every weekend morning and I think it's just leftover from the week. It's just not good, I'm not in a good place right now.

It sucks because I had such high hopes for 2018 and we're one month in and it's just not what I expected. I'm trying to not be discouraged because we still have such a long way to go; I still have hope.

In other news, I started a new website this week!! Breaking Bradshaw is my new website where I write all my entertainment news and will probably venture into some other areas like writing thought articles that don't really fit with the Royally Pink brand.

My voice on BB is a little snarky and bitchy, but honestly, that's kind of how I talk in real life. I have many sides to me and Breaking Bradshaw is just another one!

Don't forget to sign up for The Beaute Report, I'll have a new edition coming later today (another thing that was late this week!)

I'm trying to stay focused on my goals and hopefully, I can accomplish everything I want too. Next up, book writing!

Let's get into the links I loved!

Happy Friday! I stayed home from work today because I've been feeling under the weather. I had a fever last weekend and I just felt off since. I know the flu is going strong this season so I'm trying to prevent that from happening.

Because of that, I had an unusual obsession with orange juice this week. Everyone I know was so confused because I never drink anything that isn't water, coffee, or tea. For me to have 1-2 orange juices a day is very out of character for me.

Maybe it's because I've been craving mimosas and brunch?

Anyways, my blog schedule was all off this week because, like I said, I was just off. I explained a lot of it in my Tuesday Inspiration post. I've been feeling unfulfilled, Like I want to accomplish so much more in my life and just don't know where to start.

I want to write more, I want to be a journalist, I want to be an author, I want to start a social media freelance business. I have so many dreams and aspirations but the physical act of doing those things, I just don't have in me.

I hope I figure it out soon because I don't like this feeling.

If anyone has any advice, let me know! I can use any help I can get.

It was National Croissant Day this week & it was heavenly

On another note, I skipped my January Favorites this week but it'll be up later tonight, tomorrow or it might even be in video form. We'll see what happens!

Friday, I love you!

This week was short & long, rough & easy... it was a really weird week and it's over.

I said it this week to my coworkers but it's so sad how we are constantly waiting for it to be Friday. Is this what life is about? Just always waiting for the weekend? It's a very weird thing to think about and I'm a little sick of it... but I just cannot help it.

At least I'm aware of this though, right?

I had a few other thoughts this week too. There is so much I want to accomplish, so much I want to do and I have so many ideas but don't even know where to start. I almost feel like there are not enough hours in the day to process all my thoughts and wishes.

I think I may do a post on this within the next few weeks where I talk more deeply about my thoughts, ambitions, hopes, dreams, and actually list them out. I have them written down in my notebook but I feel like I need them spoken out into the universe to make them happen.

On another note...

I have quite the little weekend planned; I want to go to the mall to stop by Lush and get the Sleepy lotion as well as some of the Valentine's Day collection. I may also stop by Henri Bendel & Sephora. I'm really wanting to try the Sephora Collection Lip Stories lipstick.

I'm also going out with my family for my grandpa's birthday to our favorite restaurant and I cannot wait to indulge.

I just had to have this Kate Spade pillow! Utterly perfect for the bookworm in your life

Enough rambling, as usual -- here are my links!
