I've always had an extensive jewelry collection and storing it has always been an issue for me.

I've had every jewelry box under the sun, and even had a small mannequin stand to house all my pieces. However, nothing ever seemed good enough for me.

When I moved into this new apartment almost two years ago, I knew I wanted to be able to see all my jewelry so I could wear it all. I have a hard time using things I can't see. I also have a hard time wearing all my jewelry. I always go through phases where I don't want to wear certain types of jewelry. Right now, I can't stand wearing anything but rings and earrings... but I still want the option of knowing what I have in my collection.

When I moved in, I had the perfect idea. In my little shelving unit, where I house all of my lipsticks, I have the first shelf as my jewelry shelf.

My necklaces are divided amongst the metals; so I have silver hooks, rose gold hooks, and gold hooks. I love this type of organization because it makes everything so easy.

I have all my necklaces hung up on the side of the shelf, hanging on clear command hooks. My bracelets are in one jewelry dish while my rings are in a few others. (I have a lot of rings). My earrings lay in  4th jewelry dish, and this ensures that I can see all my pieces and have them go in and out of rotation.

It's not a really unique organization system but it works for me. Everything is seperated, on display, and gets used (when I'm in the mood). It's working for me for now!

How do you organize your jewelry to make sure everything is getting used?

Ah, so the time has come. College campuses everywhere are going to be silent, doom like places where the salt of tears are apparent and there is no supply of caffeine large enough satisfy those who rely on it.

Finals week has dawned upon all of us and it is not a happy place to be. Usually college campuses are happy places, the 20 somethings Disneyland if you will but during finals week, it is a dreaded area.

Usually I am one of those people pent up in the library for 10 hours a day, consuming endless amounts of chocolate and coffee, and counting down the days till I get to go home and do absolutely nothing.

This semester, that will not be me and I am looking forward to it. I have one final that isn't cumulative, along with a silly photography presentation, and a photography paper due. Other than that, I am home free, able to pack in a timely manner and won't have to over stress about taking a measly test.

Just because I am not participating in this marathon does not mean that I don't know how it feels. Therefore, here a few helpful tips to get you through the week.

1. Organize yourself

Before you do anything, make a schedule--it'll make life a little easier. It's nice to be spontaneous once and a while but sometimes you just need a plan. Write down the days of your tests along with the times you will study for them. Having the times that you will be going to the library down on a piece of paper will make you more likely to go. Trust me.

Organize your notes and study materials as well. Having separate folders and notebooks for each class, even color coordinating highlighting will help. During finals week it is completely acceptable for you to be over crazy and over organize.

2. Be ahead of the curve

Get ahead of yourself and start studying early. If your exams are jumbled together in the time span of two days, you are going to get stressed out a little more than if they were spread out. Don't panic, you can do this. Start studying for your hardest test first, even if it's the last one. Absorbing that difficult material will be easier if you start earlier than usual. Don't wait for last minute, even if you work better under pressure. Utilize that schedule and study as early as possible so later on, you could just refresh your memory instead of swamping it with new info.

3. Social Media=NO

This is definitely the hardest one for me; I LOVE social media...Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Vine, Snapchat--you name it, I have it and I'm obsessed. It's so hard for me to stay off of social media while studying but it is the biggest distraction I have. Leave your phone in your bag and try to use school computers instead of your own laptop so you don't have all your usernames and passwords saved and bookmarked. If you stay off of social media, you'll get a lot more studying done a lot faster.

4. Eat, Drink, Sleep

Even though it's finals week, you have to remember to live. You need to take breaks because sitting in the library for six hours straight is not going to help anyone. Stay hydrated with water because your body is going to go into caffeine overload, eat healthy but also treat yourself to some snack food, and get some sleep. Your body will work better when it's well rested. Pulling an all nighter the night before your huge final is not going to end well. Close the book and go to bed, your GPA will thank you.

Good luck to everyone on finals! Just think, you are one step closer to summer :)

It's halfway through the semester; college students every where are settled into their new classes, comfortable with their schedules, and looking forward to Spring Break.

With all this going on, midterms are kicking in and making students crazy. Last night I went to the library to study for my psychology quiz and the place was packed with students! On a Sunday evening, when kids are still nursing their Saturday night hangovers, they were busy at work.

There is something about midterms that makes students crazy, possibly even crazier than finals. Midterms sneak up on everyone; we think we have days and weeks to study for the big test but you look at the calendar and realize that the test is in two days, and you have three of them to study for.

Midterms creep up on us because they come right in the middle of the semester (obviously) but no one is ever prepared.

There are a few things you could do in order to help your midterm angst.

1. Talk to your professors

If you have three or more midterms on a single day, your school might have a policy that doesn't allow that to happen. Talk to your professors and see if there is a way you could take the test earlier or later to ensure that you get the best grade possible. There isn't any use studying to the bone for three tests if you're going to do below average on all of them.

2. Organize, Organize, Organize

If you haven't gotten the hint by now, I'm all about organization. Sit down and make a schedule of when and what to study, that will be a huge help. Also, if you make index cards or a study guide, that'll help too. Be sure to save those materials for finals week so you have most of the information already written down!

3. Study Uniquely

The worst part about midterms is obviously studying; not only are you worrying about doing a good job on your test and dealing with the stress of balancing all these tests and papers, you have to study. Being a Mass Communications major, I don't have many tests and the tests I do have aren't difficult, the information is pretty straight forward. Therefore, when I try to study psychology or history, I have a tougher time absorbing the information.

With the trusty help of my iPAD, I discovered some great apps that help with studying and make it a little more fun and a little bit easier: Brainscape and FlashcardLet. They're great interactive apps that have helped me immensely!

Do your best to stay positive during midterm week. Take a break from your four hour studying binge, paint your nails, get a coffee, and relax when you can. If you run yourself and your brain into the ground with information, the turn out will not be so great.

Keep Calm and Study On, you'll do great :)
