It was a short week but usually, that means it's all the more busy and stressful. I don't know when work got so busy but it has and it's interesting. My days go much faster and I feel more accomplished but it's definitely tiring.

I've spent the past few hours laying in bed, doing a whole lot of nothing as my Friday nights usually go, but I felt more drained and dead inside (LOL) than usual. However, Gilmore Girls marathons make those times much better and that's currently what I'm doing now.

In other TV news, Riverdale came back this week and I was super pumped. I finished binging the first season as well as catching up on the 2nd (I spent almost $20 on the episodes on Amazon Video because I just needed to finish) and it's my new addiction. The show is so unique, so fun, so dramatic and has that perfect CW twist.

I also tried to watch Black Mirror, made it through 4 episodes and just gave up. I don't understand it, the 5th episode was in complete black & white, and I just can't get into it. On that note, I discovered that I could watch Netflix on my television through one of the cable channels on Fios -- this is a game changer.

I need more Netflix recommendations so please leave them below!! There's so much to watch but yet, I don't want to watch any of them. Weird...

I wanted today to be the day I made a special announcement but I don't think that's going to happen the way I planned. I'm hoping that by Sunday/Monday I'll have everything complete but I can give a sneak peek as I've already mentioned it on social media.

I'm launching a new newsletter. I've been toying with the idea for a while, about launching a beauty-focused newsletter because there is another side to my beauty passion besides what you see on the blog. I also love newsletters, like The Newsette and theSkimm because it gives you snippets of the news you need without being overwhelming.

My Royally Pink newsletter kind of flopped because I felt like it was just a repeat of what was on the blog and it seemed redundant to rewrite information.

Please sign up for the newsletter here; I promise it's going to be different and give a unique perspective on the beauty industry.

All that aside, here are the links I loved this week:

Here's what you missed on Royally Pink:
Have a great weekend everyone!

And another week bites the dust! It was the first full week of 2016 and it kicked my booty! I was in Pennsylvania Sunday-Tuesday for a work trip and it really wore me out. I've talked about it here before--once every few months my coworkers & I head down to QVC Studios and we basically stay up for 24 hours while the live shows are going on.

It is unlike anything I've ever seen or experienced and I really love it. It's one of my favorite parts of the job as Social Media Coordinator. However, it is quite exhausting. I was tired and run down all week so it definitely affected me but I'm glad the weekend is here. I'm hoping to get back to regularly scheduled programming soon.

Before I get into the links I loved, I really have to share one of the highlights of my week. I decided a while ago that I wanted to take my blog to the next level and I've been saying it for months. I've tried my hardest and I'm not anywhere near there yet --side note, I don't know where THERE is but whatever! I knew that one thing I needed to do was get new business cards. I purchased my domain last year and have never updated my cards with the new email address (Briana@royallypink.com) and the new URL.

I knew I needed new ones and when I logged onto Moo.com to pick them out, I fell in love with the Elle Woods design. I ordered them and they arrived last Saturday and I almost cried out of happiness.

How beautiful?! I am truly obsessed. They have rounded edges and feel really professional. I will be proud to hand these out whenever that time comes!

Anyways, if you want to help me take the blog to the next level, sign up for the Royally Pink newsletter! It's definitely in the working stages but I played around with something over the holidays and I like how it turned out! I have some more ideas for weekly content there so I'm really excited!

It's going to be a good year :)

And finally, here are my links!

As  a journalism major, it's my natural instinct to read and be up on the news. My area of "expertise" is Entertainment news, that's what I'm interested in and ultimately, the field I want to work in after college.

I was never interested in "hardcore" news. I know that as a citizen of the world and especially as a future journalist, I need to be informed and semi interested in what is going on around me. Through my journalism classes at school, I've learned to at least read the news apps on my phone. It's kind of boring but it keeps me up to date.

Well, I discovered something even better!

theSkimm is a newsletter that you sign up for that SKIMS the news of the day so you don't have to read the newspaper or sift through stupid, pointless stories to get to the important ones. theSkimm gets delivered to your inbox around 6am every weekday.

The thing I always find difficult is understanding what the news story is actually talking about; I'm an intelligent young woman but the New York Times doesn't always use language that a 20 year old college student could understand.

theSkimm explains EVERYTHING in simple terms so anyone could understand the current events.

It has a fun little sections that are featured every day such as "Repeat After Me." theSkimm is so much fun, it's a delight to read and the creators actually care about giving their readers the best/ most important news of the day.

Danielle and Carly (the creators) have coined a great motto that sums up the purpose of theSkimm "We skim the news so you don't have too."

I love theSkimm, I think it's a great, fun tool for people on the go or people who want to be informed about the news but don't know how to get started.

If you feel the same as me and want to know about what's happening in the news, go sign up for theSkimm. Also, follow them on twitter!
